What a lot of people may not know, is what a great human being, Steve Buscemi is. Before his acting career took off, he was a volunteer fireman in NYC. Or wherever it was, when 9/11 happened, and Steve heard that his former fire house was helping at Ground Zero, he went to Ground Zero and pitched in. He’s what we call a Mensch. Steve Buscemi is one of my favorite actors of all time! And while I don't love most of Sandler's movies, I really liked his earlier movies (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore) and by all accounts he is just simply a good guy!
One thing i also love about him is that thing about him being a serious actor combined with his connection to Adam Sandler. He's a bloody phenomenal dramatic actor but it seems he has no qualms with playing outlandish roles in even the silliest of Adam Sandler's movies. It shows a lack of insecurity (because there are some people who may want to distance themselves from anything that isn't "high quality" in fear of "damaging" their image), it shows his loyalty and his good guy team playerness. I'd say, like a true professional, he just gives it his all no matter what the role is
