For sure, same with the respond or none verbal respond by John Belushi. Left us at only 33 years of age, just like Chris did :'( So, so funny and just as brave of an actor; as wonderful Mr John Candy
I think that was his whole identity. He looked pretty uncomfortable when conan asked him about Gingrich. I think he felt humiliated most of the time and maybe thought he was dumb but he wasn't. His intelligence was what made him so acutely aware of things and made him feel inadequate at the same time.
I could relate to him when Conan grilled him about politics. When politicians come to my door during election time and ask me about issues I'm concerned about, I space out like Farley did. I feel like an idiot. I felt bad for him until he got on his knees and wigged out. Lmao
Back in the 5th grade our teacher made us read newspapers each morning. I remember looking at the front page of one that said he had passed away and i started tearing up in class. RIP.
Wish he would have cared a little more about himself. He seemed to only care about making everyone else happy. And Conan may have been joking a little with him about him cheering up but I think he needed someone to care. A lot of people miss you Chris.
His addiction problems were pretty severe. I think his body chemistry worked against him as much as his own personal issues. It might've been coming from such a large family and being so emotionally needy by nature that laid the foundation.
Chris Farley was a player! With his personality and confidence he could have any girl in the world! A frickin legend in my eyes! Love and miss you big guy!
Met Chris in NYC after a filing of Snl. I was getting a hot dog and he came up to me and said “ Can you handle one in each hand?” Lol. I about dropped my hot dog.

The latter. The transition from mumbling deer-in-the-headlights flop-sweat to raging self-pity and pleas for forgiveness and finally to vamping as a overly confident macho-man is classic Chris Farley.

At 0:05 when Conan says your doing great, you can see the guilt and shame in Farley’s face and even the “oh I don’t know”... it’s like he knows he shouldn’t be doing the things he was doing at the time. Chris was a great guy, funny and charming, it’s so sad to know he was truly so depressed towards the end of his life. Yet, he still made so many laugh even when he couldn’t
meh, it has a little bit. And it's not as dense as it was back in the day (which is no surprise). Still looks great for his age though. Hair or not, I love that silly Irish bastard
I'm not sure why they seemed to often be too big on him. Maybe because he was going to weight loss clinics often. He wore the same (or similar ) one at the Tommy Boy premiere which was only a few weeks earlier.
He went through a period where he tried to dress up and shed the sloppy look he often had. He would go to Rochester Big & Tall for his suits. His mother would also send him care packages from Brooks Brothers when he was a young comic in Chicago.
He's one of the few comedians I've seen give credit to the writers. In this clip and another he mentions Bob Odenkirk. Such a humble guy reminds me of my best friend Tim.
Me too, remember a few years ago that mayor in Canada; rob Ford every time I saw him on the news i thought Chris Farley would have been great doing him on snl.
@@lukeGGlee I agree totally. Tommy Boy I felt showed his range as an actor but that was just the very beginning. There could have been so much more. He was so talented and could have easily gone on to do even more extraordinary work.
All the movies he did were garbage as it stands god ppl grossly overrate Chris Farley and have since the day he died. He has a handful of truly iconic SNL skits, but thats the extent. He wasnt that funny and all the movies he did make sucked. Lets get real. Sometimes i feel like the ppl that give him so much praise really never watched him much. I never missed an episode of SNL during that era and me and several buddies always thought he was just ok SOMETIMES. Chris Farleys literal strategy almost always would just be to act ridiculous as possible to force a laugh out of ppl just by making himself look stupid and if he didnt get the reaction he needed he would just ramp it up til he started getting the laughs. Farley was FAR from some comedic genius or good actor or any of that. His whole stick was to just act ridiculous. Any fat dude with a little charisma and an 8-ball will already be at least 75% of what Farley was.
So? Just because people show interest in you doesn't mean you'll have any interest in them. You can't make yourself be into someone you're not. Most guys I associate with have expressed interest in me, but none of them make me feel anything. I hate being alone but having been in a relationship with someone I felt nothing for, I know I am more miserable in that situation. I will probably die alone, but no one should be forced to settle for someone their heart doesn't want.
@@englishatheart First off, who are you and why would you think we would be interested in hearing your personal problems ??? Also why you would waste someone else's time when you felt nothing for ??? Narcissism comes to mind.

Chris Farley is a one in a generation talent. He’s like that friend that super relatable funny guy In high school but on a scale you’ve never seen. Everything he does and touches (onstage and offstage) was superior humor. We lost one of the truly greatest comedians of our lifetime to drugs, alcohol, obesity, and depression. It’s seems to be a common theme. I hope humans greatest entertainers learn from this.
You always read in these comments how 'whoever' is 'ahead of their time'. Farley wasn't, he was a throwback to the older comics who were experts at using their entire body, face, and voice, with perfect timing. The amount of work he had to put in to master the timing and facial expressions must have been extreme. He and Sandler were always great together, it's too bad they never made a full movie together. The movie cameos and SNL stuff was fantastic.
he was a physical comic genius, it doesn't surprise me about the push ups, he probably could have done more if he tried. now if he squeezed out 5 pull ups, I would have been shocked 😲
kenny powers. I agree i was born in 1986 and enjoyed being a kid in 1990s with actually good tv shows and the movies along with the music like Soul Asylum, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and others I was big into 1990s rock. The comedies and action movies today suck in comparison to 80s and 90s

I hope you will be ok. I know you and him were real close friends
Same
Paul walker for a lot of people as well still hurts a lot
Personally think Farley and John Candy were fantastic in their work always able to draw responses right away
John Candy was a Canadian treasure.
For sure, same with the respond or none verbal respond by John Belushi. Left us at only 33 years of age, just like Chris did :'( So, so funny and just as brave of an actor; as wonderful Mr John Candy
remember when Sandler made good movies, i don't either.
good call, the 2 greatest.
Dewayne Thomas I remember, and I still enjoy them.... what do you do? Besides looking like a transvestite
He used humour very well to cover up any questions that would make him uncomfortable. Conan did a great job trying to reach out to him.
This was all a skit.
@@staticklingon2182funny ppl can’t see that 😂

You saw how happy he looked ? Always check up on people you love, you never know who could be going through it
He didn't commit suicide. It was an accidental overdose.
And people did check on him. He was in rehab over a dozen times.
@@outdoorcasey yeah sadly he fell off the wagon one too many times, too young
Dude was almost twice my age, 9 times my size, but had 1000x more energy then I ever will.
RIP Farley 🙌🏼❤️
I agree. Coke is amazing
What are you, 8? Lol
"Cocaine is hell of a drug"
Two words co cane
245 more kilos of coke than you have had in your life as well.
I never seen Conan laugh so hard lol only Chris farley and Robin Williams can do that. RIP to them both.
Add norm MacDonald
Bill burr and norm too
As well as Dave Chappell back in the day.
Tracy Morgan too!
liked comment, adding bill burr lol
He really was such a treasure so animated just to make people smile and laugh such a presence he is missed for comedy and humanity
I don’t think Chris Farley ever got out of character
I think that was his whole identity. He looked pretty uncomfortable when conan asked him about Gingrich. I think he felt humiliated most of the time and maybe thought he was dumb but he wasn't. His intelligence was what made him so acutely aware of things and made him feel inadequate at the same time.
jamesnm21 he wanted to branch out into dramatic roles before his death to avoid the typecasting of characters he was playing.
@@jamesnm21 I think that was a bit they did together
I could relate to him when Conan grilled him about politics. When politicians come to my door during election time and ask me about issues I'm concerned about, I space out like Farley did. I feel like an idiot. I felt bad for him until he got on his knees and wigged out. Lmao
NBC is always in character.....Michael Scott (the office), Tommy (Tommy Boy) Ern (Atlanta), Leslie Knope, .......I'm tripping lol
I love how he chose the girl who looked the most uncomfortable. 🤣🤣
RIGHT! I was like, he shoulda gone to the left... But I think he did that on purpose lol.

Back in the 5th grade our teacher made us read newspapers each morning. I remember looking at the front page of one that said he had passed away and i started tearing up in class. RIP.
This guy lived 95 years of life in just 33 years full throttle all the time, he wasn’t built for longevity he was here for a good time not a long time
Wish he would have cared a little more about himself.
Great Loss .RIP Chris Farley .God be with your Spirit .❤🌹🍷
Chris Farley, gone way too soon

@Jay He suffered depression believe or not. That's why he did drugs. So you should have some sympathy
Then Spade stepped around the other side of you.
Yeah then Lorne Michaels was the hot dog stand guy....you know I'm really starting to get sick of yer bullshit Mike
I can see it lol
Farley was like a lovable cartoon character come to life.
I love how everyone has a smile on their face. God bless farley
Yes indeed!!!!!
God i miss Farley man... dude was 1 of a kind.. there is and never will be anyone that came or comes close.. dude was special.
I love that he went to the one girl who looked terrified, Great comedy instincts.
She actually says "I'm embarrassed" 6:01
She looks like a European tourist. She seems freaked out and confused. Maybe German tourist? They don't get our humor. An American girl would of known it was Chris Farley
@@musicalmelodies3595 but a European would know it's "would have".
I can't tell if Farley is being spontaneous or playing a skit like a genius
The latter. The transition from mumbling deer-in-the-headlights flop-sweat to raging self-pity and pleas for forgiveness and finally to vamping as a overly confident macho-man is classic Chris Farley.
Dude he was using drugs during this time. It's clear. Still miss the guy tho

He avoided politics because it goes against his entire act. He is brilliant.
"I'm not much of a reader" was Farley playing a Republican voter.
This was one of the most iconic and epic interviews ever!! I appreciate these type of interviews. Chris Farley was one of a kind! His chemistry was unmatchable and his ability to make anyone laugh even politicians says it all.

Jan Michael Vincent that was very much a scripted appearance to give the audience a thrill. Come on, youre a hollywood Star.
I miss him so much.. Chris Farley and John Candy were my two fav comedian 's ever they are legendary to me
Imagine a movie with Chris Farley, John Candy, & John Belushi
It would be titled "Plains, trains, buffets, cocaine, and automobiles".
And Jim Carrey
and the late Sonny Bono. Might as well add "Ski-Lifts", to Antonio Delgado's mix.
And "Planes."
They would have murdered the world with laughter
@Corey Campbell Why?, He and other comedian's are one of best ever, NOW if you don't like it, that's something else.
This is heartbreaking, we lost him WAY WAY WAY TOO SOON!
"Conan, I'm not much of a reader..." Hahaha classic Chris Farley XD
He’s such a great actor, underrated in the 90’s but watching these sketches back, he’s gotta be top 5 SNL cast members of all time.
Did you know him or is this pure speculation?
Gotta give it to Conan, his hairline has not budged an inch.
meh, it has a little bit. And it's not as dense as it was back in the day (which is no surprise). Still looks great for his age though. Hair or not, I love that silly Irish bastard
His laughter has definitely changed tho hahaha
fkn aye
I think it got redder with age

You can tell Chris Farley’s mom told him to wear a suit.
Man I wish Chris was still with us.... he would of put out a lot of great movies
Me too, remember a few years ago that mayor in Canada; rob Ford every time I saw him on the news i thought Chris Farley would have been great doing him on snl.
He wasn't even in his prime yet
@@lukeGGlee I agree totally. Tommy Boy I felt showed his range as an actor but that was just the very beginning. There could have been so much more. He was so talented and could have easily gone on to do even more extraordinary work.
Spencer Hensley
He would have grown out of the comedy centric roles and could have done more serious work like Jim Carrey or robin Williams did
All the movies he did were garbage as it stands god ppl grossly overrate Chris Farley and have since the day he died.
Miss you Chris. The worlds a darker place without him.
He's in a darker place now, don't worry my child, you will go there too.
And don't worry about finding your way, they will guide you there...
...well this got really really really dark, really quick 😂

The only bad thing about Chris Farley clips is that they have to end.
I love how excited and blushey he gets when Adam gets there

2:45 The crumbling of Farley's confidence at this point is comedic genius; the break in his voice, the expression, the tone...perfect.

He wasn’t a clown. He was a comedian. Huge difference. Especially when clowns aren’t even funny.

Him not replying said it all. I’m sure he did a massive speedball after this interview to suppress that sadness.

Yep I heard that also

Man I miss this guy. Farley was brilliant.
Chris Farley bringing the house together in a laugh is the most wholesome thing ever.
He’s so crazy handsome! Since the beginning of history, girls love big guys!❤❤❤
Imagine being that blonde girl Chris hit on and now watching this video 25 years later.
5:27 listen bro idc if it's just 5 push ups, Farley is a pretty "big" guy and doing a push up ain't easy. Impressed
