Chris Farley is my favorite cast member of SNL of the 90s. The guy was perfect to make people laugh.
Especially when he made his cast members laugh and break character.

No it’s actually heartbreaking. They used him as a comedic punching bag, it’s embarrassing. How do you think it feels to get buckets of water thrown at you, while an audience full of people is laughing AT you. It’s not funny it was cruel.

That's Farley. I think you put any other actor in his place for this sketch and it would be a total flop.
It basically did flop, Farley was the only saving grace, just that he tried so hard with bad material. This season stunk if anyone remembers it, they replaced almost the whole cast after this.

4USD the writing was so bad in this one. Horribly predictable and it seems just like a vehicle for Farley’s angry shouting fits (which I love though btw)
This is one of my favorite sketches of all time. I vividly remember watching it when it was still new and just crying from laughter at Farley’s increasingly psychotic reactions to being splashed. He was too spectacular for this world. We didn’t deserve him.
I remember me & my friends screaming "I JUST GOT DOUCHED!" after this came out. SNL was the best back then
Watching this for the first time in 2023...honest assessment, I don't think the skit as it's written is all that good...the ending is pretty awkward to be honest...BUT, regardless of the skit being bad, average, or great, Farley ALWAYS elevates every skit he touches, and it's no different here. He was on another level.
"Once again, let me stress the importance of keeping what is essentially Mandy's disease-ridden bathwater away from your mucus membranes and tear ducts!"

I've seen this sketch before, but I just noticed the two women behind Farley trying to contain their laughter. His humor was really infectious. So sad that we lost we him when we did. He had untold comedic potential.

I feel like this reflects more of what happens to George Clooney in real life.
I used to love Clooney on ER. Then he caught the "Hollywood elite" disease and thought his political views was something the public wanted to know. Poor George. He just didn't realize ZERO fucks were given.

In front of the camera but like a lot of comedians their not mentally stable and depressed and when comedy no longer helps as a coping tool they self destruct with drugs alcohol prostitutes and just reckless behaviour and most likely kill themselves at a young age it's hard to believe that most comedians are some of the most depressed and lonely people out there cuz they seem to have it all together and a positive outlook on things but inside their hurting and crying for help
I guess he was a guy who made people happy but was miserable. One can't have peace of their trying to find happiness in the lifestyle he had. Sad really. Never came to himself and asked why. May God have mercy

The most unrealistic thing about this is that concessions only took about 10 seconds to get someone their food
Depending on the stadium if it is one of the walk around ones lucky to get it in a half hour if you are at a stand you are lucky to get it by the end of the game

OHJLM I’d say with the ending of Seinfeld. Kramer’s character did the physical comedy right, and really no one got it down afterward.
Kevin Hart does some nice pratfalls, and Melissa McCarthy is sort of the female Farley.
