Pierce Brosnan trying not to laugh during the trident murder is classic.
I love how he doesn't even try to make excuses for his behavior and just acts like his actions are completely normal.
I would not say normal but justified.
Oddly enough, this is actually a real workplace environment. I found myself in. Even had to record the manager. To obtain the evidence I needed. But I found a better job so I didn’t have to take him to court probably could’ve sued him for everything he had

It's so refreshing to watch a pro like Will Ferrell. Too many people on SNL today lock in on the cue cards and don't look natural. He's a pro and just does the scene without staring down a teleprompter.
Amen
The pro was Pierce Brosnan.
I HATE when they are just staring at the cue cards constantly. It totally ruins the sketch for me.
Will improvised most of the dialogue because the skit was bombing

He should have tapped into that Jerry Smith strength, maybe he’d be alive.
I know....I mean halfway through his stabbing frenzy I was already hysterical but when he kept stabbing, I was laughing so hard my stomach started cramping up! YEEESH!
This really shows the benefit of a live audience. He was probably listening to their laughter to gauge how long to keep stabbing.

The original trident humor from Will Ferrel
I honestly don't think SNL ever did or ever will do any better than Will Ferrell...he practically carried the show on his own for much of the later part of his time on the show, with the rest of the cast essentially assisting lol. He always gave 110% to every single sketch, and it always showed.
Happens every generation. Eddy Murphy carried them after the first cast left.
@@thanosalaarson8290 and currently it’s Keenan Thompson
@@thanosalaarson8290well maybe but the writing was pretty poor during Eddie Murphy's tenure
Darrell Hammond carried just as much weight on the show in that era but gets a lot less credit. His Clinton, Gore, Connery, Regis & Trump were a massive part of the show in that era, and he had a few others like Rodney Dangerfield that are better than anyone else I've ever seen do.
Molly Shannon, Chris Kattan, Cheri O'teri were also capable of carrying sketches on their own

In most of his skits or other remotes you could see the other actor or host trying so hard to play his role and keep his face. Most of the gag-reels from his movies are composed of actors who bury themselves in fits of laughter just watching Will perform.
