I wish kids today were more into actual music like this . Real musicians with Real instruments in their hands playing their hearts out. Remember when MTV 1st came out and it was 95% music videos? I mean i feel bad for kids today. No favorite drummers, bass players, guitarist, keyboard players, vocalists and actual bands who could actually play their instruments & compose music. These cats and other bands like them are the last of the Mohicans. What gas it is for me to strap on my big old comfy headphones and listen to this stuff or the Allman Bros Live At The Fillmore East and follow the music. Those cats could blow man. Wsp has followed their path and blazed their own as well. Im an old Deadhead and when I say I dig Wsp and have seen over 150 gigs some Deadheads will say they dont listen to cover bands. #1 The Grateful Dead is a Bob Dylan cover band sprinkled in with other covers of music they grew up on. Widespread Panic is basically a Talking Heads cover band. They sprinkle in more covers from what they grew up on as well. Its a great formula ya dig? # 2 BOTH the GD & WSP have written and recorded dozens of their own albums that stand up for themselves. I love both GD and WSP originals. #3 Both bands are good time Rock N Roll. Wsp is a little more my generation and I was able to see them a lot more than The GD. It really depends on what mood im in. I cant go wrong either way tho. #4 Our kids need some real music from their own generation in the worst way possible. I just dont hear about kids taking a summer adventure and following a current rock n roll bands tour bus around the country. They are sadly missing out big time fun! ✌🏼🌹🎼🎹🎙✌🏼
Damn fine work! These three shows were my first NOLA Panic. Epic shows! Thank you for posting them! 🎸❤️ 🍻 Edit=You got me subscribed up! Love your work. Getting these out so that some people can reminisce and younger fans can discover the beauty and power of Panic 1.0 RIP Mikey 🎸🥀❤️
Yea you right it is def “The Bowlegged” Where do you wanna... Where do you wanna go...haaa (And then JB is feelin it w that confident big old smile when he turns to Schools sayin... I just tore it up my brotha.... To comment on Mr. Bears post about kids and this music. My 11yr old while he likes his own stuff at 7yrs old looked at me in our backyard while the Allman Brothers Jessica was playing and said dad this is that song with a girls name that you always play when we are driving to the fishing camp. I laughed my butt off. He now knows a bunch of Allman Bro tunes and a ton of Panic. And when it’s just him and I on the boat and the tubes are cranked up he starts dancing like a pro. I had 6 side stage passes for Jazz Fest 2 yrs ago and I told him to ask 4 friends and Schools and JB came and gave them high fives and pleasantries bc my son was boogying and it became infectious to his buddies who had never heard that type of music bf. Schools would walk over and thump his bass at them. So much fun. So he’s young and will find his own way but it’s nice to see that he enjoys the music when he’s a me. And one more funny story!! I had gotten him a WSMFP mash shirt at whatever festival I forget, but I got home and gave it to him and he asked what it meant and when I told him. He said I should ask mom if it’s ok to wear. Very thoughtful of him. His mother says of course you can wear it. Only your dad and his friends will know what it means😆. He still wears it under his football Jersey bc it’s his good luck shirt. Music is infectious and it’s nice to share my music w him and he plays me the stuff he enjoys too. Cheers to The Bowlegged!!
@@matthewperez4559 Great stuff!!! I was cleaning the kitchen to Hatfield after dinner one night 7 years ago and my then 2-1/2 year old daughter came in and said, "daddy, turn that rocknroll up". We proceeded to have the best dance party with Hatfield's mama... Nolaween, Phillips new years, every Red Rocks 98-02 and many many more 91-02. Best of times. Passing the music onto our seeds: PRICELESS. CHEERS
The way the arena was buzzing at the end of SOMETIMES and the crowd cheered for SOMETIMES but when they went into bowlegged quickly those same cheers turned ear deafing!! After drums really the whole place was on 🔥

Damn shame the recording mic had a pillow on it
Sounds good to me ✌

This was one of Mikey Houser’s last performance, because he was sick by this point.
Actually he played 38 more shows after this and he very well may have known he was sick at this point but they didn't announce it until March of 02
Yeah this was not “one of his last shows”
It was his final fall tour. It’s possible that the band found out about Mikey’s illness the day before or day of the 11.8.01 radio performance and show in Boston.
@@lingeringlead and what brings you to that conclusion? Your statement is completely irrelevant to the comment.
New years 01 JB came out clean cut I believe that's when the band found out :(
