I was listening to "Rock and Roll Animal" today on CD and it sounded so good.
he's a great drummer but you can tell he has no idea how to play this kind of music...should have got maureen tucker back...it ruins the vibe to hear a bunch of rimshots and big 80's drumming on these songs
It’s odd, when David died I had immediate mass grief. I finally realized in 2023 what a great loss Lou was, what a giant. I mean I was introduced to Lou much earlier than David. I even had a chance to help peel off the banana sticker, I think me and my friend shared that unique experience lol. Lou is now much more in my conscience. Was listening to Lady Godiva’s Operation several times today. I just never thought of a world without Lou and David, then it happened. I hate the passing of time. Well greetings to all my fellow Lou fans, be well.
Such a great document...such a HUGE creative mind. Fabulous Lou. I discovered him with "Lou Reed Live" when I was a a kid from Brussels. I just pinpoint him as a GREAT man. Composer, singer, actor...Hat's off!!!
31 March 2020-- watching from home during the coronavirus crisis, too! Dynamite show. (Someone below says Lou's in an unusually good mood here. I've never seen him live, but I'm sure enjoying the hell out of this!)
The album Rock and Roll Animal is one of the greatest works of music ever recorded. Lou Reed was obviously a genius and his entire career is a gift to humanity.
Rock and Roll Animal is exactly that, certainly top 10 album of all time, live or studio. For sheer raw energy and drive, hard to top and those left & right guitar solos, wow. This concert is bloody great too, and the lady who introduces it is a treat to watch flaunt off stage !
I’m so glad to rediscover this show along with Lou at this point in time and his excellent band. I had a wise cousin take my fairly clueless young teenaged ass to see this same group around this time at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. The scales fell off my ears and eyes. Thanks Chas. Hope you’re bumming a cigarette off Quine on the other side. 🎵🎸😊
I know someone said they dont like it but I think this version of Street Hassle is genuinely amazing. The contrast of a drag queen dying of an overdose lyrical subject matter with the upbeat groove is so fucking authentic and that is what Lou brought to us all. Authenticity.
Lou is Reed is truly one fine citizen,Martial Law basically sums up everyday life,Lou’s introduction to this song is so comical...what great mood Lou is in on this performance, obviously there will only be one Lou Reed ever, love you Lou for eternity, thanks for keeping me just slightly sane.
Just when you're totally smoked by a performance you look up and see 788 people gave it the thumbs down. I'm thinking ...."Where was I in 1984? Why couldn't I have been there?" I'm sitting here filled with regret that I never saw this man live, then I notice almost a thousand people thought...."Nope, this is a thumbs down." Is there a way to just redirect these folks to an Abba video and keep them away from us???
Lou Gives the ambiance of the NY-Jersey-Philly area in rock music that makes me want to be right there in the city, maybe dreaming I'd get out of there one day, but not really wanting to.....like the early Springsteen and very few others. This is the music that makes me feel passion and nostalgia all wrapped up in neon lights reflecting off the puddles on the pavement on a crisp autumn night. Music is the best mode of traveling in the mind. Anyone relate to what I just shhhhhpewed out ? lol
Thanks for posting this! It is a very good concert and as I picked up on Lou Reed's music in the 1980s, I dig hearings songs from his '80s gems such as NEW SENSATIONS, THE BLUE MASK, and LEGENDARY HEARTS. Extra appreciation to the filmmakers, who spare us the dreaded audience shots that break the flow of too many concert movies. I want to see Lou Reed and the band, not the people who paid to see them, and that's what they show us.
Lou was incredibly beautiful in his youth and his music was amongst the most honest and artful of any time. Saw the lineup that was part of the ‘A Rock’n’Roll Animal’ live album in South Australia with a very raw AC/DC as support (pre-Bon Scott). Steve Hunter on guitar, Prakash John on bass, Pennti Glann on drums. Awesome show. Lou with bleach blond hair, aviators, black leather peaked cap, leather pants and jacket and white tee shirt. They were the business.
The interplay between Lou, Robert & Fernando is amazing. This was probably Lou's best solo band. And I'm digging the funk version of Street Hassle. Holy shit, I'm shocked it worked so well in that setting.

The vibes of New work art scenario, on stage one of the best, Lou Reed ways so cool, anytime I get into it I am pleased
Don't rest in peace, Lou. Keep playing the best rock & roll wherever you are...
For some reason when I was in my twenties and younger, I never thought about seeing Lou Reed live. He's such a tremendous songwriter. He wrote so many great songs that got covered by Mott The Hoople, David Bowie and Iggy Pop. It's so great watching him play guitar. I was listening to "Rock and Roll Animal" today on CD and it sounded so good.
Pale Blue eyes!!!!!❤️❤️❤️🇨🇭
Saw Lou in 2006 Edinburgh playhouse
@@popatyourecords
That must have been amazing.
The drummer, LENNY FERRARO on how he ended up in tour with Lou:
was or is that you??
he's a great drummer but you can tell he has no idea how to play this kind of music...should have got maureen tucker back...it ruins the vibe to hear a bunch of rimshots and big 80's drumming on these songs
Brilliant
Bad Boy . Is a Legend. Bay Tiz.😎💪🤪
@@c_spn2444 I guess Lou should have spoken to you before he made his decision.
Just found this. I was at this show - great show!! So happy it's caught on video!
Deeply touching. Incredible performance.
Yesssssss!!! ❤️🇨🇭
Quem é do Brasil e curte Lou Reed deixa um like!
lou never forgot the lyrics he wrote them keef did a cover of waiting for my man i do not think lou reed did covers
There are no more rock stars like Lou. He was truly one of a kind.
Yup!
Dylan is the last man standing. Lou and Bowie long gone, eternal still. Iggy is still with us to. So we got half a tank alive.
We lost Lou, Bowie, Ronson and Lemmy. Iggy, iggy is all that's left.
@@coreymacdonald7696 No! Van Morrison is incredible. Elvis Costello the same and several others.

Much derided 80's Lou was still way above most of his peers! No doubt about it after watching this amazing show!
he was great live through the 80s at least
this guy stinks
It’s odd, when David died I had immediate mass grief. I finally realized in 2023 what a great loss Lou was, what a giant. I mean I was introduced to Lou much earlier than David. I even had a chance to help peel off the banana sticker, I think me and my friend shared that unique experience lol. Lou is now much more in my conscience. Was listening to Lady Godiva’s Operation several times today. I just never thought of a world without Lou and David, then it happened. I hate the passing of time. Well greetings to all my fellow Lou fans, be well.
same. Rest in peace to both of those amazing musicians.
Such a great document...such a HUGE creative mind. Fabulous Lou.
I discovered him with "Lou Reed Live" when I was a a kid from Brussels. I just pinpoint him as a GREAT man. Composer, singer, actor...Hat's off!!!
He was quite the Taiji player too
Excellent ! Quel plaisir de revoir Lou en si grande forme, c'est vraiment l'un de ses tous meilleurs concerts.
il chante merveilleusement
31 March 2020-- watching from home during the coronavirus crisis, too! Dynamite show. (Someone below says Lou's in an unusually good mood here. I've never seen him live, but I'm sure enjoying the hell out of this!)
The album Rock and Roll Animal is one of the greatest works of music ever recorded. Lou Reed was obviously a genius and his entire career is a gift to humanity.
Rock and Roll Animal is exactly that, certainly top 10 album of all time, live or studio. For sheer raw energy and drive, hard to top and those left & right guitar solos, wow.
This concert is bloody great too, and the lady who introduces it is a treat to watch flaunt off stage !
also live take no prisoners is amazing ... it really puts you in lou's speed addled mind
Yes and thanks to Steve Hunter too
I’m so glad to rediscover this show along with Lou at this point in time and his excellent band. I had a wise cousin take my fairly clueless young teenaged ass to see this same group around this time at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. The scales fell off my ears and eyes. Thanks Chas. Hope you’re bumming a cigarette off Quine on the other side. 🎵🎸😊
The band is so tight and Lou killed it. Also a big thank to the sound engineer for the punchy and crystal clear audio mix.
I know someone said they dont like it but I think this version of Street Hassle is genuinely amazing. The contrast of a drag queen dying of an overdose lyrical subject matter with the upbeat groove is so fucking authentic and that is what Lou brought to us all. Authenticity.
Lou, unmeasurable talent, best Lou video paired with velvet redux, oh yeah, and this keyboard guy, whatta trip!
I love the new sensations albums. Fun. And yet Lou. Very underated. Down at the Arcade is such a great song....
I find myself walking around singing average guy Kids look at me a bit weird 😅
Love you so much, Lou! Glad I got to see you perform!
One Constant: Amazing Fernando Saunders. Thanks for this post.
Thank You! RIP Mr. Lou Reed
Unforgettable Lou Reed!
This is really good stuff. I like New Sensation a helluva lot! Plus, all of Lou's other gems here shine really well. Great upload!
I'm Digging this so much right now, the Bass player is epic!, Why have i never listened to Lou Before?
You and me both!
you have been stupid I was smart with 15, now 62 greats Joe play Lous songs again young peopl think new sound?
Thank God we have this to watch and remind us what a jem we had n lost . RIP Lou

Gracias por tanto rock an roll Lou
many good memmories back in the seventies listening his music, still enjoying hiw music and his voice..
I so like him, I wish he lived cleverly right next door, oh yes
Some sweet sweet songs on here. Love love love Lou's laid back style of playing, he makes playing look so effortless.
My favorite Lou's show ever. New Sensations is killer in live !
Anyone relate to what I just shhhhhpewed out ? lol
@Burr Anderson OH, Burr...if you only knew! lol Thanks for the advice.
@Burr Anderson OH Burr, if you only knew! Lol Thanks for the advice.
@Burr Anderson sorry...got my wires crossed....nothing new.
@@stellaspencer3335 i totally get you. ❤
Beatiful music!, Nicely interpretations of wards, thanks for sharing.
Well this chosen for me on a, Rainy , rainy day. Bloody fantastic concert, 😃tfs🎧😘👍🏻
Lou was an artist and what he did will always stand, Think of what records cam out in 1965 and then remember that The Velvet Underground's first album was was issues. Heroin. Femme Fatale, Black Angels Death Song. He lives on in his music

Nonsense! He had a long and varied music career. And he was the Leader and main songwriter for the the VU!
One of the strangest and unique rock bands of all time that influenced tons of musicians. Just for that he was a success!
And he wrote Sweet Jane and White Light, White Heat. Two rock classics!
He was like the Godfather of Punk.
@Burr Anderson What are you talking about? He fronted the band that started a thousand bands! He wrote Walk on the Wild Side, Heroin, Perfect Day, Sweet Jane, I'm Waiting for the Man, Satellite of Love, Coney Island Baby, Pale Blue Eyes, Street Hassle, Venus in Furs... Some of the best rock songs ever made
@Burr Anderson ?
I love when he added that bass player with that funky dry sound. It really his songs pop. Almost a Jaco Pastorius effect.
Two hours of live lou reed is what i need.
Lucky man. I would have loved to see that tour.
Those We're The Days 🎶
Esistono filmati di rock n' roll animal e di American Poet?
I wish Peti Glann was on this... that open hi hat in every downbeat is distracting.
i was at this Concert at the Capital Theatre , i use to live in Passaic on Pennington Ave .
The interplay between Lou, Robert & Fernando is amazing. This was probably Lou's best solo band. And I'm digging the funk version of Street Hassle. Holy shit, I'm shocked it worked so well in that setting.
Lou lo ascolto da più di 30 anni è un artista rock dei più raffinati.
Leider hast du Steve Hunter nicht gesehen, Rocknroll Animal he was the best baby
My God, how I miss Lou. What an amazing Artist. (
Me too. ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇭
brilliant rock! we love it and want to see your concert in Sydney.
Robert Quine - a master guitarist, wow. So glad I got to see him live in Sthlm long time ago with Lou Reed and the band. They were superb.
3/7/2017 thank you so so very much for posting this!!! I enjoyed this concert immensely. I've been a fan of Lou Reed's since 1966. I miss him terribly. How I wish he were still with us. 🙁I never got to see him live . This was as good as it gets thought! Lou was SO, SO talented.
Thank goodness for RUclips...They provide us with all theses amazing videos!
Much better than any of the "lives" that are being broadcast on RUclips. Thank you very much for this great post.
The show is timeless. The girl announcing the act at 0:45 is a solid 1984.
Ha totally, so unnecessary and goofy
@@Pthunderful don't be so tough, dude!)
YOU ARE JUST A GIFT FOR THE WOMEN OF THIS WORLD LOU
Lou Reed should have earned the noble prize of literature and music and soul
He did, like 3 times.. kidding but his phasing, grammar, knowledge of literate is legendary .
