I got a cat in 2008 and in 2010 she got cancer in her foot and it was spreading up her leg. We took her to the vet and they said we could either get in amputated or she would be put to sleep. The 2nd one was not even an option! She came home after the procedure and it took a little bit to get used to it and now she is perfectly good! She can do everything she did before it happened!
we made the hard decision yesterday and chose to amputate my cats front left leg (it was completely shattered and we have no idea how), he had surgery today. these videos are very reassuring to us. thank you for this
We are 3 days post op. She was rescued with hind leg trapped in a picket fence. A few small puncture wounds were also found. My guess, desperately trying to out run a dog or large cat ☹️ Our vet said it's sadly common with picket fencing. Hope your cat is doing well. I'm amazed at our progress in 3 days 😊

Thank you SOso much for this video. So much. My cat who is my everything might have to have his entire left arm removed as we'll just like Tuna. Literally crying seeing how happy he was. I also told my doctor to do whatever we need to do, even if it means losing his arm so long as I could have him for years and years to come. Thank you Doctors for all that you do
My 10 year old cat got diagnosed with an osteosarcoma tumor in his front right paw and they'll be amputating his leg next week. Love my pal too much to euthanize him or let him keep suffering with the cancer so amputation is the only option and this video gives me hope that he'll still be a happy, able cat with a long life ahead of him following the surgery! I was told he'll need to slim down so he can balance better with 3 legs so he won't be happy about going on a diet though
Cats are amazing creatures and adapt very well to an amputation. You are making the right decision and you will likely notice a dramatic improvement with your cat's quality of life despite being 3-legged since the pain from the osteosarcoma will be gone..... Good luck!
Like my Sieven I rescued hin and had a surgery same as Tuna on the front I always prayed to give me long life yo look after him and the rest of my rescued cats Philippines also needs help for cats How I wish to have an own lot where they can walk and run .but dont have enough budget . I just worked hard for their food fro 47cats in my small rented apartment .. Its not an wasy but hopefully there is anybody there that can hear my prayers for their safety and long life too...
