Boatwright's Dining Hall at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside | Experience & Review 2023 | WDW

  • We take a trip down Disney's recreation of a Louisiana bayou to savor the tastes and flavors of New Orleans. After numerous stays at Disney's Port Orleans resort, we realized we never had the opportunity to dine at their only sit-down restaurant, Boatwright's Dining Hall. The theme at Boatwright's is centered around New Orleans ship building. The skeleton of the Boatwright's Ship works as the nucleus of the restaurant; with artifacts that were used to build the ship adorning the walls that surround the patrons. After plenty of RUclips ads promoting a visit from us, we decided to stop by to see how their somewhat new menu stacks up compared to other Disney restaurants. See our full experience and review dining at Walt Disney World's Port Orleans Resort.

Hey guy’s, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your content. Got a trip to Disney coming up the 1st 2 weeks of Feb. Staying at French Quarter (I prefer the smaller resort). Thanks for your reviews I got all the reservations I wanted. Cali. Grill, Topolino’s, Jiko, Flying Fish, Citrico’s and Yachtsmen just to name a few. I’ll give you guys a 10 out of 10 every time!!! Keep up the good work!! Wishing you both a successful and Happy New Year 🎊

That's a killer line up! You have Sam and I's favorite restaurants in there too, Cali Grill and Topolino's. We have a little fued going so we're definitely interested in hearing which you prefer. French Quarter is actually our preference too. We've stayed at, and like, both but agree there's something uniquely charming about French Quarter. Your kind words and support really mean the world to us. We put a lot into the vlogs and we're so happy knowing people enjoy them 😃. We'll definitely continue the work. Thanks again and wishing you a successful and happy New Year too. Have a blast on your trip!

@@ThemeParkFoodies They’re all dinner reservations, so it’ll take me all day in the parks the next day to burn all that off so I can fit in my clothes for my return home🤣. Thanks again for all your hard work, it is definitely appreciated!!!👍

Happy to hear someone else agrees 😆. I've had people tell me that Boston Market isn't real corn bread but to me it's the standard bearer.

We unfortunately never got to stay at Riverside. We had it booked but had to cancel due to Covid. And then we rebooked the resort wasn’t even open. The food looked great. I’m dying to know how the bread pudding compares to Ohana. I recently become a big bread pudding fan because of Ohana. And even made my own at home.

Ohana Bread Pudding is superior in my opinion but this one if a solid contender. The Banana and raisins really give it a unique flavor. We love this resorts. Hopefully you guys can have a make up trip in a few years 😃. Also, I may need that Bread Pudding recipe one day.

French Quarter is the first Disney resort we stayed at together and we stayed at Riverside for part of our wedding trip, it will always be special to us. There is so much charm at these resorts and they are so underrated. I grew up in Deer Park, not far from you. Hope you are enjoying Florida as much as we are :)

“The ice cream is melting because you are talking too much” 😂 I can relate to that on a spiritual level.
I love Cajun spices and flavors, so I bet this would be a winner for my tummy.

Between the filming and the talking, that ice cream stood no chance 😆. The food here was great! Disney has too many high end dining options to say this is the best but the Cajun flavors, execution of the dishes, and exceptional atmosphere really made this a winner for us 😃.

Port Orleans Riverside looks beautiful! We were actually considering this as an option for our next Disney stay and opted for somewhere else, but it’s definitely on the list for places we would love to eventually stay. Such a beautiful resort ❤
Boatwright’s looks pretty good, but doesn’t seem like it would be top of our list of Disney restaurants we want to try as there are SO many!
The Mickey butter was a really cute touch! The prime rib actually looked pretty tasty - love a good side of mashed potatoes 🥔
Definitely a restaurant we would like to try eventually, but more than likely when we stay at POR or hopefully when we’re Florida locals some day 😅
Overall looked like a great meal and a fun experience visiting a very picturesque resort 🙌 awesome review as always! Definitely seemed like an interesting flavor take on some classics. The bourbon raisin dessert did look quite delicious 😋
    Thanks for sharing!

Out of the two Port Orleans resorts, we tend to suggest French Quarter if you're ever debating between the two. Both are beautiful but the intimate Bourbon Street vibe of French Quarter has so much charm. Also, Riverside is a short walk or boat ride away. I understand not running here but we definitely recommend stopping in if staying on property. The food really accentuated the atmosphere and theme. It makes the experience three dimensional and something uniquely Disney. The food tasted so good too! We'd be happy to call you guys neighbors if you ever make the move 😃. Of course and thank you!

Poor Sam’s soul left her body when Boatwright’s didn’t leap immediately to mind 😂 We’ve all been there! Y’all’s pre-wedding photos at the resort looked phenomenal, must have been an amazing shoot ✨ I do find myself calling New Orleans Square (Disneyland) _Port_ Orleans Square as a result of overexposure to the resort name these days, but we’ve never officially stayed or dined on property. Another one for our resort bucket list - and Frank’s! Glad that the steak netted a favorable rating, in the end; it definitely looked good on camera, although we know that’s only half the battle 👀 The dessert definitely melted down quickly, but it looked positively mouthwatering even in its post-melt state. The list of Disney dining to try continues to grow 😜 Great vlog, guys!

We loved our first look. This resort and French Quarter really are incredibly picturesque. One of the reasons we picked here for the wedding is because these resorts are where we really became Disney Parks fans. I hope you guys, and Frank 🐕, get the chance to stay here one day. It's one of those expansive and uniquely Disney resorts. The steak was great! Sam actually said she wants to go back for more. The dessert was great too. Really can't go wrong with a Disney Bread Pudding. Thank you 😃.
