@@carrofilms yes it's TRUE, the latest version of the software for the xt3 is 4.10 and it adds the ability to show your ip address and a feature for slower shutter speeds for flash photography. The speed is the equivalent of the xt4 and so is the ability to shoot in the dark, which was started with firmware 4.00. IBIS, flip out screen, newer longer life battery and one video feature is what stands out with the xt4, good luck!!!
These cameras are photowise almost the same except for the image stabilization. And its heavier and bulkier too. So for photo only I would still go with the X-T3 also because of the better screen usability in comparison with the X-T4.
I shoot with an xt3 mostly for video. Would not upgrade since most of my stuff is shot on a tripod, so IBIS is not something I need, and I have a monitor so the flip out view is not something I have to have.
Why X-T4 is not better than X-T3 for photos? All primes and some zooms will now have image stabilization. I have an X-T3 and that feature alone is pushing me to shift...nice video!
Thanks for the great video. I had an XT 3 and sold it on eBay and I've been missing my camera for the last three years so I'm thinking about buying an XT 4. The one thing I like that you mentioned in your review was the separate menus for Video and Photography so I don't have to go through all that menu choices and the larger battery. Do you know if they have released a software update on the XT 3 that separates the menus? I don't do much video shooting, but I do like the fully articulating rear screen that might be the main reason for me to go with the XT4.
Thanks. But are you sure about the EVF being different? Fuji specs are identical, resolution., magnification, diopter adjustments, eye point, angle of view; the only thing they don't mention is the brightness.
ibis is not only for video the shutterspeed is a couple of stops better on the xt4 handheld thats for a photographer without a tripot a big plus. dusl lens and body stabilisation is way better as only lens stabilisation
I'm sticking with my XT-2 for now 😁 really can't justify the cost of the upgrade. If I do upgrade in 6 months time it'll be to the XT-3 (I don't do video)
has anyone else noticed that Looking through the viewfinder of the (my) x-e2, the x-t4 and also the x-s10 is not as Sharp?? I just returned an xs10 because I thought something was wrong with the diopter.... then when I got an x-t4 yesterday, it also appears less sharp then my x-e2's. What the heck is that about?!
I agree. If you don't like the flippy screen people, wa-la, you don't have to use it. As simple as that. The majority of people want flippy screens. Any camera manufacturer that doesn't have a flippy screen is shooting themselves in the foot. It's about sales.
Its acctualy a worthless upgrade for video..... i have the X-T3 and I am a serious video guy.... Any serious video guy will have an external monitor and we don't vlog, regardless we could still flip the external monitor..., we also have external V-mount Batteries that will last WAY longer then that the new battery, the in body stabilization is really made for photos, because again, serious video people have rig's and mine is pretty weighty so it is pretty stable even handheld... failing that i just put in on a Tripod, Glidecam or Gimbal.., which will be WAY more stable then the IBIS.... the 240fps is cool but TBH 120fps (4x slow) is more then enough for me, even 60fps is pretty good... buuuut i guess this is a good time to mention that i recently switched from Premiere Pro to Davinci Resolve, and with my RTX 2070 super, i can use the AI enhanced Optical Flow which allows me to Slow down any video at any framerate to whatever speed i want 4x 8x etc... and it uses GPU optimized AI that creates beautiful frames and makes everything look seamlessly smooth...... aside from that, the only thing that is worthwhile might be the extra low light performance but TBH the X-T3 low light is pretty good, and if the X-T4 is much better i would have to see some tests... but as it is... it is definetly a useless upgrade for any Serious Video Guy
You just made me more in doubt in what to buy :) Appreciated your comment. I am starting shooting video projects, mostly mini-docs. What are you shooting for?
I’m a stills photographer myself, looking to jump into the mirrorless world with the XT-3. With all the used models available I can buy a nice lens or two as well.
do you want a camera with 5 stops of ibis or not? Do you want to use a camera with the best kind of rear articulating screen?? 'street photography' has nothing to do with it. you probably really only need something like their x-e4. which looks great. same sensor. $1000 less!! Don't let the rampant consumerism run your life.
@@roygumpel8415 I would argue that street photography almost entirely depends on IBIS because you are hand held shooting and moving quickly. The Xt-4 is the only one with the IBIS out of those two.
if one is talking about comparison, the term is "this versus that".. not "this verse that". Versus. I liked the concise review. With all the cheap cameras that have the flip screen as the 4 has, I still don't understand why a company would have that half ass screen like the 3 has.
Fuji is offering me a lot of trash that, as a professional fine art and event photographer, I just don't need. My need for video is at a hobbyist level, My need for low light, low weight and fast focus are paramount
I've never had a fuji (Canon shooter) and really love Fuji's classic style and have been looking at the XT3, for someone who's never had a fuji mirrorless. the XT4 is the better buy. IBIS and water resistance? count me in. Not to mention its nearly impossible to buy an XT3 now... even when this guy made the video. at least here in canada, they've all been discontinued. they're all sold. and there's no way in hell im buying used. There are certain things i dont mind, but if im spending that kind of money. i'll take a fresh unit, fresh warranty and fresh sensor.
I really appreciated your clear and easy to understand description of the difference between the two cameras. Well done.
They put the autofocus algorithm in the new firmware update for the 3 as well.
X-T3 EVF has the same resolution :)
Finally firmware update available for xt3 which is faster autofocus equivalent to xt4
Is this true? Is it the same as XT4 now? Really considering the XT3

X-T4 IBIS doesn't work well with lens with OIS built in

to shoot mostly photos. That flip screen Is way too good.. and IBIS!
Yeah, but you are only allowed to use ibis if you know how to deal with slower shutterspeeds by yourself LOL
A great review. Thanks.
Why is everybody talking that ibis is just for video?? What about moving waterfalls by hand???
Right? i always found that weird lol. IBIS is a blessing for anything that's moving.
@@europeanlegend9347 its more for the moving human behind the camera😉
@@DUCzillaMonster exactly, that includes the human behind the camera.
Super helpful! Thank you!
The price of the X-T3 body has now dropped to $999 at B@H and Adorama. With the 18-55mm f2.8-4, it's $1,399
Just saw on amazon that’s 1K as well that’s a hell of a steal
i was told the xt4 has cleaned up the worm noise so its not as bad as the xt3 ????
Great video mate. Thanks
for 6:00 in my xt3 I use for video "movie silent control" and use dial buttons only for photo. It is quite enough.
does x-t3 keep separate settings for film simulation, white balance, highlights, shadows etc.?
Great video for explaining the differences - thank you!

Xt2 has good photo quality?
@@keykey1401 Yes, no real world noticeable difference between XT-2 3 & 4 I'm still using the XT-2 today :)

@@xGSTQ Actually if you don't need the megapixels you won't even notice the difference using an XT-1, it's still absolutely great
internal image stabilization is reason enough to get the xt-4

Have you adjusted the diopter meter? Its +/- to match youre eye sight.
Defiantly helped thank you
very well comparison video.
I'd stick to Fuji XT-4.
totaly clear thank you!!! XT3. :-)
Xt4 absolute beast
Your opinion is right on the money. Still confused why some people don't like the flippy screen.
Because it's unusable on an l-bracket

Flippy screen? They should make this a aftermarket feature and charge 5000 bucks for it.
Because I like to shoot from the hip during weddings for candids. I don't want a screen just asking to be clipped off

Want to see a low light comparison too
There a great low light performance comparison at dpreview.com where they compare camera to camera in all ISO modes (jpg only)
Hey! I’m new, Can you please suggest me any stabilisers or gimballs for my XT3?
On your site, you say that the X-T4 records 1080p120 when B&H says it records at 1080p240.
Christopher O'Toole thanks for noticing that. It does do 240 FPS
He specifically said it records at 1080p240
No powering whilst audio monitoring means we need a dummy battery and an external power supply. That's an absolute dealbreaker.
Extra cost......let's stick to xt3 ,till xh2 comes.....hahahaha
