Man, I struggled with this. There are so many abilities I wanted to include and that I think deserve to be here. That's why I want to see your lists too! Let me know which abilities you think are the most broken in the series.
I'm at 1 minute in and I'm betting your #1 is the imagination 🤞🏾 honestly if you keep him hidden, no one would know what hits them. Like pain from Naruto, literally finding out where your enemy even is is part of the fight

Considering all the broken abilities in Bleach, making a top 10 must have been a challenge. I often thought Kubo had fun trying to out broken the next character he introduced.
Basically. Then the novels come along with "hey, you know all the awesome abilities Shinigami have used? Yeah, well the Tsunayashiro clan has a sword that can copy them all.." and "Remember Mugetsu? Well, turns out there's this Arrancar under Szayel, who has a technique that essentially records all information, allowing her to resurrect herself and eventually use a weakened mugetsu" not to mention Aura the Fullbringer, who from what I remember basically had matter manipulation via manipulating the souls of any object.

Her Resurrección grants her an ability that allows her to use any kind of ability as long as she knows every information about it. So she analyzed Ichigo and all the info about Mugetsu and then used it to kill Cien Grantz. Ofc it was weaker then the original but still that's broken as hell

Tsukishima's Book of the End was so strong it started a meme revolution Anyone else remember when Tsukishima appeared at the end of Marineford to stop the war? Oh yeah and when he appeared at the Tournament of Power to save Universe 7? And of course we can never forget when he helped Naruto and Sasuke seal Kaguya
If you think about it "Book of the end" would have been great as Aizen's Bankai - The ability not only to create an illusion in front of someone, but also in their past and to deceive reality itself.
I don't think he could come up with a bankai for Aizen so he just said f*ck it. It's hard to go more broken than his shikai & fit the theme still w/o him basically having Gremmy's power. Instead of casting illusions making them real which is jus reality warping like Gremmy. Other than that whats the next step

I like to think Aizen’s bankai is very powerful but situational, or at least reliant on his shikai effect landing. But it’s probably more likely that Kubo wasn’t satisfied with his ideas for it.
@@Xenphobe777 One idea I liked was that his Bankai is very powerfull but has some drawback. Something like: He can completely mindcontrol someone, but while his bankai is active everybody that was affected by his shikai is freed from total illusion until they saw his shikai release again.
@@Xenphobe777 I agree with this, I always felt this bankai might be something along the lines of self-hypnosis that makes the illusion a reality for himself. So if he was on the verge of death he could use it to reverse the situation. Broken af but fitting for aizen while explaining why he never did use it.
Orihime's powers fluctuate so much because they are only as strong as she believes them to be, and her faith in her own powers fluctuates dramatically due to her low self confidence, counteracted only by her unwavering desire to help people. If she had the confirmation of Aizen or Yuha I believe she would have been god tier
I think to a certain extent it’s also the density of spiritual energy within the damage taken, best I can think of is the two attempts at healing ichigo from ulquiorras attack to the chest, especially with a being such as ulquiorra who may or may not be as strong as the sternritters years later has such a spiritual that feels completely alien compared to the spiritual pressure of others.

We first are told this while Ichigo was battling Renji (who also lacked conviction to follow his own beliefs) vía the Urahara speech about determination. Also when Ichigo didn't allow White's intervention Ulquiorra notices that he is fluctuating between a level extremely weak to a power stronger than him. And the whole fight with Gin he was like "Bro to me you were stronger in the SS arc since you fought me with all you have and now you are falling apart bc of your own insecurities and fears", even Zangetsu later pointed out how his inner world was now upside down and completely covered by water.
@@leosegovia362 Right but realistically how much of a difference could it be and I’d argue the portrayal is still inconsistent. Even when Ichigo hardened his spirit against Kenpachi all it did was give him a little scratch. I don’t think Orihime’s will was weak at either point in healing Ichigo. Soifon’s Shikai against Aizen was an illusion I think but there it was still portrayed that reiatsu was king. I don’t really buy that Ichigo who was logically above any Shinigami on paper at that point (Unohana said he was captain level with only half of his full reiatsu so healed+masked logically…) should be losing to Gin who prior to that was only presented as high tier captain like Byakuya or so just because he’s a little shook. There’s no other point in the series we could point to where it’s portrayed to be the difference in being at 50% or less vs 100%. Plus there’s a bit of a difference between early in that fight vs towards the end, as the fight went on Aizen worrying about Aizen became a bigger issue. Should have overpowered Gin who he had no reason to fear very quickly at the beginning. Ichigo has always been scaled really weird to a point where you have to raise the tier of who he fights to justify it. Grimmjow and base/1st release Ulquiorra for example are objectively stronger than the other Espada by feats and Krige is a top Stern Ritter bc Ichigo just in Shikai at that point was still 2x captain+fullbring increase (which was later proven when he reacted to Kirinji’s surprise punch in base)
@@KurokamiNajimiOhh by all means it's inconsistent, you can't just put a scale and say acurately he attacked with exactly 26.8% of his power in Bleach. The only "laws" as far as I can remember about reiatsu are how much the individual has and how stable is the mind of the one controlling it to let it out. Ichigo hardened his spirit against Kenpachi reaching maximum release but his overall pool was also being nerfed by the old guy, only after his severe wound "Old Zangetsu" lets out White and with him more of his Shinigami (plus hollow bc of the connected stuff) powers as it was either let him go down the Shinigami path despite what he wanted or leave him to die there. I also think Orihime wanted to save Ichigo but I don't think that situation is really thought by many. The one you love is lying with a huge hole in his chest dead (ignoring the 1/4 hollow powers which you don't really know all that well), yeah you can restore it but even then it's a heavy blow to take and another point is one fact she herself stated when she refused Grimmjow order of healing Ichigo... THAT THE ENEMY IS STILL 5 STEPS FROM YOU COMPELTELY CALM. Even if you heal him won't the same or an even worse fate await him? You don't want him to die but those thoughts will be around your mind at the time affecting your power. This would be different if a special trait was stated like Dende healing Vegeta bc he was told about the Zenkai boost or also the boost of power granted by coming back to life in Shaman King. Congratulations you rejected that harsh reality before you with an enourmous effort (as her power is not even a heal but a rejection) now you can sit back and enjoy your reward of him being insta-killed as you only made him come back at full health but at best he recieves half of his reiatsu since in that same scene you mentioned Ichigo tells Unohana that Orihime does not recover reiatsu as well as wounds and I doubt she herself isn't aware of that fact when she could identify Ichigo's bankai as a fuse of two powers as early as the first time seeing it up close against Yammy.

Barragan's Respira ability reminds me of how itachi in naruto was so powerful that kishimoto had to kill him with a disease. Barragan was killed by his own ability. That ability was broken as all hell
The first time she heals ichigo after his fight with ulqiorra, she comments about not being able to reject the overwhelming rietsu coming from the stab wound. Perhaps it was part of the reason she couldn't heal him the second time.
Yhwach was the embodiment of broken sacrificing all other sternritters to gain even more power he would've been unstoppable if it wasn't for the assist of Aizen and Uryu
There’s a lot of these.. I can tell how hard of a video this would be to make lmao. Bleach’s designs and abilities are just so absurd that it’s really fun to see in action.
I think the Soul King's was to make it so it always had been. As in the chosen reality comes into existence without anyone even realising that fate has been altered. This is probably why he's required to keep the worlds seperate. It's his power that is literally writing the future of those worlds. When he dies, it's like their story is cut short. With nobody to write what happens next, the worlds start to crumble and fall apart. That's my personal opinion.
Kubo is actually a great conceptualizer (is that even a word?). He is great at creating very appealing parts of a story, from characters to scenarios, visually and/or written... but it's a mediocre storyteller, regular at best. That's why Bleach has some great ideas, characters, pieces of a whole that look and feel magnificent, but at the same time stale moments, nonsensical cliches and very messy resolutions to various of the problems he created for the characters to overcome.
@@brunocardin4935 I don't think that's even a nerf. Almost every villain in Bleach got beaten by something of their own. Aizen wanted to lose so the hogyoku granted him a loss and Yhwach got beaten up by his own power.
@@GlacikingTheIceColdKing Well, Ywach's is in fact a nerf, because he could literally change every future in which he dies for another one where he doesn't.. no exception, and then he dies anyways. Aizen was nerfed imo because he was toying with half the gotei 13 at the same time and then Ichigo's dad comes along and somehow faces him.
I loved it. A hundred percent agree with the list, like actually this is exactly like i would have ranked it. You view Gremmy and Gerard pretty much like i do, The Visionary is stronger than The Miracle but Gremmy isn't stronger than Gerard. I would love if you did a video on Gremmy tbh, remember it was in some poll a few months ago but I assume it lost. I think Gremmy got a lot of hate in the past and i'm not sure it was deserved, i loved how his seemingly invincible power was countered by his own immaturity and lack of experience, and he had some amazing moments.
tbh a lot of these things are just limited by screentime and plot. Ichimonji only gets the one showing against literally the most broken ability of all time, so looks worse by comparison. You give Ichibei a fight against literally anyone else in the series and let him flex his powers and win -> his power naturally looks better
This was a really solid list. I would probably swap nr. 5 and 4, since I think the X-Axis’s ability to be intangible and pierce through anything, is stronger then Respira, since it needs to make actual contact in order to effect something. I could also see Kyōka Suigetsu being placed over Ryūjin Jakka, since I think it is a lot more versatile, and it was what made Aizen able to fight even someone like Yhwach on somewhat even footing. While Ryūjin Jakka is really powerful, it is at the end of the day, really just an ability with a incredibly high destructive power. But yes, I definitely agree with the Almighty taking the top spot. I think in a one-on-one fight, there is really no ability in the series that can top it. That was why the only way to defeat it, was to have several other abilities and factors at play. I feel what you're saying & the application for KS is better but in a fight Aizen couldn't hurt Yamamoto in that form that's y he takes him out beforehand. As far as we know it likely counters almost all hax on this list. Ichibe's ink wouldn't touch him, BOE couldn't cut him to change his past, Aizen was weary of it, Gerard might get completely erased & Respira might burn away or get the BS Aizen treatment of SP hax negating powers. Gremmy would likely kill himself trying to figure it out but his power itself should handle it, the All Mightty ofc is stronger & X-Axis might hit him from a distance other than those 3 Yamamoto likely takes the other 6 since it completely erases things from existence
@@marcuswilliams2910 The thing is Kyoka sugetsu beats Ryujin jaka since it simply fools Yama. Aizen is a patient man and can wait for yama to fight an imagined specter KS created till he defeats it, eventually yama is gonna let his guard down and AIzen is gonna instantly oneshot him (thats how KS becomes OP) Thats the power of Kyoka sugetsu, and another thing, all these abilities Tommo put above Kyoka lack the incredible scaling that KS has. Take respira or zanka west. They are OP but thats all, remember battles among soul reapers are battles of reiatsu. Respira cant work on aperson not relative to Baragan in power ie Aizen or Yama or Ywatch would simply negate it with sheer power difference. The same applies to yama, his flames too are reitsu based and thus will be negated by aperson that greatly outscales Yama in power level This is again where Kyoka comes in, it is not negated by power difference as we have seen and can scale as high as Almighty. How can an ability counter something as stupid as Almighty and be placed below in the list? l swear people think OPness is all about brute strength xD Power is more complex than that!!!
@@alispeed5095 There's a reason Aizen doesn't take Yamamoto head on with KS. It's a more versatile power yes but Aizen won't have the ability to just sit & wait, we kno if Yamamoto's bankai is activated long enough it'll destroy everything around including something as big as the seireitei. In a fight Aizen can't run until Yamamoto runs outta reiatsu. He was able to fool him b/c they were at least comparable in SP. Aizen, Ichigo & Yhwach were in a class of their own so the SP difference doesn't negate any of their abilities but he clearly couldn't use it normal. It didn't last long on Yhwach b/c he was stronger & it didn't seem like he could control what Yhwach saw. He sounds surprised at Yhwach thinking he was Ichigo & it only last a min or so. We also kno Yamamoto found a work around it anyway letting himself get stabbed to react to Aizens reiatsu not illusion

Yeah many forget this. Respira is abroken ability but without reiatsu ie Baraggan, people like Aizen and above will simply negate it. This applies to most abilities with Kyoka being the only exception l know

I feel like there is one ability that is extremely broken but would be hard to put on this list because of how little we actually see it. And that would be Uryu's Antithesis, which has a basic and ill-defined ability of basically reversing/exchanging the events of two targets. In a way I think it's very similar to Orihime's Shun Shun Rikka in the sense that they both kind of "reject" the nature of cause and effect. It's an ability that we only really get to see used and explained in one fight, and it's not really a lot to go off considering that the character he's up against possesses a very similar yet functionally better ability, The Balance (which is in itself a very broken ability especially when combined with the Freund Schild). And it definitely doesn't help that when Uryu does use the ability, while powerful, it does absolutely nothing for him in the long run with him getting bailed out by Yhwach's Auswahlen. I think we see him use the ability one more time at the end when he shoots the Silver Arrow at Yhwach, because it seems like the arrow pierced him from behind but Uryu is standing in front of him. But I'm not completely sure if that was because of the Antithesis or just Uryu's natural skill with a bow. Having said all that, it seems that the Antithesis is an ability that is scary enough for Haschwalth to genuinely believe it might pose a threat to both Yhwach and The Almighty, which is pretty high praise all things considered. So much like with Gremmy and The Visionary, I believe the ability is potentially very dangerous and potentially broken. But due to a combination of Uryu's lack of imagination, lack of experience with his Schrift, and an overall bad matchup it appears a lot weaker than it actually is.
Great list as usual. This is a tough one because in essence you’re having to separate the abilities from the characters using them. For example, Aizen could most certainly defeat Baraggan with Kyoka Suigetsu in probably the exact same way Baraggan actually died (ie tricking him into activating Respira within himself.) However it would still be Baraggans’ own ability killing him, not Kyoka Suigetsu. Obviously Lille would take Baraggan in a fight as well but it ends up being a stalemate until the clock runs. It’s unknown whether X-axis makes him immune from aging and his shrift isn’t working if it’s being decayed so again you have to examine the actual abilities themselves and not the characters in question.
I think The Balance > Respira. After all, the only way they could defeat Barragan was to place Respira within him. Having a character that can effectively reflect any bad fortune back onto the opponent would be a perfect counter to almost any "touch it and _______ happens" ability. You could probably also place The Antithesis into that spot, potentially higher if you believe what Haschwalth said about the possibility of using it against Yhwach. The narrative seemed to be that it was one of the most broken Sternritter abilities, but was simply a bad matchup for The Balance, I guess because the full extent of that power can turn your good fortune into bad, plus hit you with extra damage.
He said something that gave me a new perspective and changes my thoughts on tsukishima. And that is am interpretation of the scene where he inserts himself as byakuya's mentor. I always found it bs that he gave byakuya as much trouble as he did, but if that ability basically granted him the extra training to then contend with byakuya, then I can except that. Makes sense in a way.
Tbh Byakuya has a horrible habit of letting himself fall victim to abilities because of his arrogance. He could've killed Zommari instantly, for example, but was chilling until Zommari did significant damage to him. Tsukishima was lucky with that and got enough time to maximize his ability's advantages before Byakuya took the fight seriously. Tsuki's still ridiculously strong regardless tho so you're not wrong lol.
It also makes you wonder just how much more broken he would have been had ginjo shared ichigo’s fullbring power with him. Even Ginjo didn’t want to give it to him because his power was already so deadly and he didn’t want to deal with it if double crossed
What I liked the most about Yhwach is that, although I think it was just a flex, having seen how broken Ichigo's bankai was he just straight up denied it. Lot of fans were mad for this but I absolutely loved Kubo for that, finally doing something that's really odd for a manga about fights. P.s. I did not see a more broken ability than The Almighty in other mangas. It's simply the ultimate no-counterplay. Remember that he can also steal powers and the ones seen in the future cannot hurt him. So... ff?

It's interesting how all these abilities tie into the Bleach-verse as a whole with Tokinada's statements in CFYOW about beings that shouldn't exist, and do so only because of the ancestors shenanigans with the Spirit King and it's reality bending power.
That's really all Kenpachi fights. Just turn off your brain, become a caveman and enjoy the two people murdering each other, it's why every fight he's involved in is so fun
IMO that's actually the point. Not just for Gremmy but many of the Stern Ritters. Back in the day Bleach got quite a lot of flack for the quincies being shallow, many of them centered around the gimmick of their schriff. I nodded along too, but then it clicked. That's a very sad and twisted way of hammering home an important lesson. They are just tools for Yuha, broken souls who thought they received God's blessing, but they were merely deceived to be twisted tools for the antichrist not caring one bit for them. This is very prominent with characters like Äs Nødt: a bedridden poor fella with a terrible disease so nothing left in his soul but fear... this focus left him with nothing in life but bestowing that fear to anyone in his path once he has the power. Pepe: Basically an incel with the schriff of horny. Dude craves love so much, but fails to work for it, just forces himself on people, no wonder he gets rejected. This fixation manifests in his schriff, to have the power to force it. Even then, everyone not under the spells finds him utterly disgusting. And then there is Gremmy, the brain in the jar, to imagine anything. Tho with that life he probably won't have the mental condition to make good use of it. Tho he had to be flawed so that Kenpachi or anyone for that matter to bring him down.
@@janosd4nuke yeah exactly and well I think this is never more apparent than with Gremmy and his fight with Kenpachi. At some point they mentioned how Gremmy had just been let out of his imprisonment to fight in the war cuz his power was too great making him inexperienced, immature and crazy. In essence it shows how he was relegated to a prisoner for being a possible threat. A gracious God would not do this instead they would have helped Gremmy develop. Yet Yuha does it and it shows how he never cared for the Quincy and just considers them tools.
The reason Orihime's power didn't work on Ichigo was because of Ulquiorra spirit energy Or spiritual pressure kinda negates it. (which is pretty OP when you think about it) She even had a hard time healing his hole when ulq practically jabbed through his chest the first time.
I am pretty sure it was Ichigo's own reiatsu negating Orihimes ability and also the fact that since he had a bunch of reiatsu on him and zangetsu was taking over the body the hole in his chest was not an abnormal condition but a natural one since he was full hollow and Orihime's ability is described as returning things to their natural states. If I remembered things wrong feel free to correct me
Tbh I think it didn’t work was because Orihime was rejecting the wrong event. She was trying to heal an ichigo she thought was dead. Since Ichigo wasn’t dead she couldn’t reject something that didn’t exist yet.
Dude I always say that. BOTE is more broken than KS. If Aizen had it instead the series would be over before SS arc and the trolling would be even greater.

Between the second and the third place, it just depend of weither or not "the miracle" can be disallowed by the visionnary and I don't think anything other than Yhwach can stop it so I would put it second. The list was really good otherwise. Always waiting for your Bleach video.
One thing about the visionary versus miracle: those abilities should have some sort of energy consumption. Soul king fragment providing infinite energy for miracle is one thing but can you visionary to restore your own strength? Make a spirit energy battery pack out of thin air? For visionary to be broken as it was I feel it has to multiply the spirit energy put into activating it by some ridiculous multiplier so I imagine restoring yourself is possible? Food for thought
One of my favorite things about Bleach was Kubo's creativity with abilities, to the point where I think it might've been a bit much at times. I remember when we first learned about the Death Dealing and it was just an entire chapter of text boxes to explain what was actually happening and how the ability functioned. Can't wait for the return of the manga to see what ridiculous stuff Kubo comes up with next.
Yeah I used to think the Almighty was way too broken, now I kind of like it, reminds me of a more broken King Crimson, except he can look at all of the outcomes and pick the one he wants.

I think that fight will go on forever .Because of the following reasons Barragan can only be killed by his own power, And I don't think Gerard has the brain to think of implanting the power of Barragan inside the body of Barragan Yes I believe Respira could kill Gerard but he will not stay dead for long cause The Miracle will just bring him back to life over and over again
I think complete hypnosis could have been in the top 5, it did obscure The Almighty himself. Also to think Kenpachi held his own against numbers 2 and 3 on this list... his potential is beyond comprehension. As a lover of the series... keep up the great work Tommo, ever since Tekking stopped making Bleach content on the regular your vids have kept me engaged.
To be fair it was casted before the Almighty but if there was a scenario where KS (Kyoka Suigetsu) was casted after The Almighty was activated, KS would be on a higher conceptual equal to or greater than The Almighty.
It is not "Cannon" to Anime, but one thing I call Broken? Fénix of Arturo Plateado. I mean when you can regenerate faster than Barragan's ability can kill him...
I think the most powerful “ability” in Bleach is the infinite possibilities that come with asauchi, hollowfication, pieces of the soul king, etc. that lead the way to potentially any other ability.
For me the visionary is easily the strongest above almighty because talking from a base line perspective a user could simply go "I imagine you no longer existing you , your powers gone poof" Or "I image the future is set in stone unchanged from my will no matter what" Now I know gremmy probably couldn't do that to ywach but if for a moment gremmy didn't get his power from ywach I think he could do shit like that
The difference with the visionary is that you have to constantly focus on what you manifested into reality. Once you break focus, the visionary will be undone. So the almighty no matter what will still trump it.
The problem is, The Almighty has been shown to be able to counter even Yhwach's death. So the way I see it, The Almighty would foresee Gremmy removing him from existence and then he would somehow 'counter' that and simply return.

It seems like that's only true for changing living beings, because he completely lost focus when he nearly imagined his own death, yet nothing disappears. Even then, remember Gremmy can create as many clones as he wants without that limitation, so no matter.

Literally was a cougar magnet and pretty much wasn't treated like a kid so you know he was laying down the pipe on them ladies. He got them his age and older. Mizuiro = pimp
this list really makes me remember some of the significant disappointments of the end of Bleach. mostly what we never saw. ie. what Ichigo's true Bankai was capable of, or how rushed it felt, how many loose ends were left unresolved.

It was originally Metastacia's ability. This ability allows him to evolve without limit. Kubo made Aaroniero into a complete Re(censored by communist youtube). If he was quite a bit smarter, then he would he waited int the shadows, consumed other fallen espada. In fact, he was the only one who could have become a power rival to Yhwach. Consumption of: Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio + Cirucci Sanderwicci. He could have waited till battles are over and consume these two easily. By doing so he could have gained enough power to rival even Ichigo. Consumption of: Zommari Rureaux + Nnoitra Gilga. After these two had and lost their major battles, Aaroniero could have sneaked in and consumed them as well. Doing so would most likely cause him to become the second most powerful espada. Consumption of: Szayelaporro Granz. This one is tricky, because of super-human drug coursing in Szayel's body. However, consuming him would be extremely beneficial as it would increase his power, intellect and would make him almost immortal. Consumption of: Yammy Llargo. Well, this one is obvious. Doing so would made Aaroniero into absolute beast. Yammy have tons of power, but he is too dumb to use it effectively. Aaroniero could use that power way smarter. Consumption of: Coyote Starrk. A quick trip into human world while everyone are busy would yield him an additional power boost. Lets say he played invasion arc smart, and consumed fallen hollows. Lets say he didn't consume Szayelaporro Granz due to super-human drug, but instead harvested him in some other mean but with way lower efficiency. At the end of the arc he would have powers and riatsu of: Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio Cirucci Sanderwicci Zommari Rureaux Nnoitra Gilga Yammy Llargo Coyote Starrk He could also destroy Zanpakutō of any one soul reaper if he wishes to. And he could merge and take over any on soul reaper. He would have more raw power than literally anyone in the series. Who could stop him? Aizen? Unlikely. Yhwach? Unlikely. Ichigo? No chance. So, for me, TOP1 will always be SMART Aaroniero Arruruerie. Too bad we never got it.
Most overpowered of the most overpowered. I don't fault you for not being content with the list dude there's just so many busted powers in bleach but in my opinion I think you did this listing ok. To be honest the almighty deserves it's spot at one, the power of that shit is borderline insane.

I see the logic of putting Respira that high even above Lille because it could age even light. He's nearly invincible but not quite. The others above can get past it. The only things I'd change is I'd switch Aizen and Tsukishima, BotE is more broken than KS. Aizen would be even more terrifying if he had it. Also find a spot for Askin. The Deathdealing makes anything lethal and makes him immune to any type of attack as long as he doesn't die from it. @@MrTommo2304 I forgot to mention Hitsugaya too. His final ability is to freeze the enemies special ability and shut it down. Adult Hitsugaya is insanely broken and I don't think most people realise that because of who he was fighting. The problem for him was that Gerard is even MORE broken and The Miracle surpasses his ability freeze. But I think he could stop a bunch of people on this list.
I think if the captains weren’t so hasty against Gerard Valkyrie and didn’t repeatedly make him stronger after it was obvious killing him wouldn’t have worked, they could’ve sealed him away. His power is just resurrection from death and immense strength so if you can bind him without killing him with binds stronger than he is, he can be defeated.
I think they were in a bit of a bind to be fair, time was definitely against them. Plus they had to keep worrying about him potentially falling off the side.
After watching this I'm starting to think that in a 1 vs verse setting where people say that goku can solo bleach, I'm wondering if he really could, being about to not die cause of a miracle or being more or less an indestructible sniper or even rerighting himself into gokus memories. I love the way kubo rights his characters and not just have a cycle of lose, train, prevail.
I'm pretty surprised Gin's bankai ability Kamishini no Yari isn't on the list. It's a poison that can break things down on a cellular level. Shoot, it even "killed" Aizen forcing the Hōgyoku to revive him. Unless you're immortal, Gin can kill you no matter what if he wants to.
A fitting character to be called a prodigy but Gin ended for Aizen to rise. I was hoping Kubo bring him back after the arrancar arc to be the good guy n together with rangiku. I guees it's like Itachi huh
“Unique and marvelous powers” Shows Chad, Bleach’s local “I punch things real hard” man All jokes aside, even Chad’s abilities, despite being plain and boring in concept, looked really cool and unique with what Kubo did with his arms. That man is a legend when it comes to designing characters, weapons, powers, and just visuals in general
Kubo has such a great artistic mind. I think that's why he's so creative and why his power system doesn't have many rules. The way he visualizes the powers is so much better than giving us a wall of text explaining it imo. Almost every character no matter how broken their ability is makes sense since it's portrayed visually so well.
It was definitely interesting enough to get people theorizing on what Chad's end-game abilities would be (even though it basically ended up remaining 'hard, Mexican-themed punches')
As someone who didn’t read the manga outside of the tybw and is essentially an anime only fan of bleach, I have seen a lot of chad but he never really interested me. I was never the most knowledgeable when it comes to the series since I was a new anime fan. If anyone doesn’t mind, could any of you give me a short description of what chads powers are and why? All I really remember is exactly what you said, he punches really hard. I would really appreciate it, the wiki isn’t the most descriptive from what I’ve seen and doesn’t seem to be as good of a description as I could get from a real bleach fan.
The reason why Orihime couldn't revive Ichigo was because White's reiatsu was stopping her. Its literally stated and shown, she says "a thick black reiatsu" is stopping her from healing him. This is consistent with Bleach's power system as well because regardless of the ability, your hax wont work on someone with WAY more reiatsu than you. So White simply negated Orihime's fulbring and used his reiatsu to revive Ichigo himself.

@@flarenexuz1159 Knowing how OP Aizen is, he could easily keep a Zanpakuto in Bankai mode. I could imagine his Shikai is either Suigetsu or Kyoko as most Bankai's names are an extention of their Shikai's name.
How the hell is Kyoka Suigetsu or the Hogyoku not Number 1? Even Ywach with Mimihagi & the Soul King absorbed aand with Almighty activated couldnt negate either ability.
I don't think we know whether Aizen actually got beaten once Yhwach got him with the black stuff. He's just kinda.. there again after Yhwach is killed.
I have an idea of the top 2, interested to see if i'm right and in which order. I was wrong, I expected Book of the End to be in the top areas... interesting to see how things progress. I'm updating this as I watch on. (I disagree with the assessment of what happened with the power versus Byakuya. I think he's just so knowledgeable on Byakuya's skills now, he's able to counter them.) The rest make sense to me, no real issues or surprises after BotE :)
Agree with all of these except Barragan, who is way too high on the list IMO. That spot should've gone to one of the Wandenreich (Uryu or Haschwalth come to mind). And I don't think Respira completely trumps kido either; Hachi's attack did deal some damage, it's just that most of it got mitigated. Likely if Starrk had shot him with an endless barrage of ceros though he wouldn't be able to age them all. In general though, a lot of these abilities get into the realm of unstoppable force vs immovable object. By that I mean it's hard to rank them without pitting them directly against each other. How would Gremmy's ability of imagination work against the Miracle? Would he be able to imagine that Gerard's power simply doesn't work or does Gerard's power trump that? You really can't say without pitting them against each other.

Yeah, it had to be the Allmighty... no other way around it. On Orihime, glad to have her represented. Tho I don't find her powers inconsistent at all. Remember the basics from Kenpachi vs Ichigo and even Soi Fon vs Aizen: Every battle is a battle of reiatsu. Her reality warping 'healing' powers go pretty far, beyond death in a sense. Tho if Menoly were to rot there for weeks, I'm not sure she could bring her back. But if the damage is caused by a spiritual pressure that outclassses her with leauges, her abilities will fail way before their natural limit. This logic was a perfect answer to me anytime her abilities were seemingly nerfed.
I wish the author could use my idea to redesign the Sternritter abilities and remake the TYBW arc. Because most of them are not broken. We’ve technically never seen aizens bankai but his hypnosis has to be one of the most broken abilities in anime history besides maybe Kamui from Obito. Actually maybe not in all of anime that may be a reach
I believe you are mistaken about gremmy not being fit for it's power. This inmaturity he has, his childishness, etc are qualities that allow his imagination to be wild and unrestrained, after all children have more imagination than adults. Him losing to saraki speaks only of the sheer terror that fighting Kenny entails, also the double edge of the power of imagination, the possibility of self destruction.
There's just one thing I'd swap. There is nothing more powerful in fiction than reality warping. Period. If you can warp reality, you can do anything. And you had a pretty good sense of putting Yuha and Gremmyon number 1 and 2, because they are in fact the two characters who have been shown to be best at using reality warping. But there are many characters you've missed. Urahara's bankai is also a reality warping ability. It should be up there below Gremmy's, because Gremmy isn't limited by range and has more feats. Tsukishima can also reality warp, his power is much more than just changing the mindset of the ones he cut, he can actually warp the past reality of events - he literally reality warped Ichigo's bankai back into existance after Yuha Bach erased it. Another character who comes to mind is empowered Yukio. Even though his ability seemed limited and his feats are very underwhelming, the ability itself is still bordering on reality warping. The top 5 should all be reality warpers.
@@HOLDENPOPE In some sense yes, but his control over it seems almost non existent so in a barrel of reality warpers he eould be close to the bottom. Not because his ability isn't powerful, it clearly is, but from what we know he can only create a very specific set of events with his bankai, and he has no control over it. The rest of reality warpers I mentioned is basically only limited by imagination when it comes to what they can change.
Other than Ywach, Gremmy was not only the most powerful Sternritter but also the most dangerous because he can kill all the other Sternritters and Schutzstaffle with ease!
Some honorable mentions: Gin's bankai, Kamishini no Yari: Literally one hit killed Aizen, faster than he could even react. If not for the loyalty of the Hogyoku, Aizen would've been toast right there ( ascended Aizen, no less). This means that Gin with Bankai can one shot most heavy hitters in the series. Komamura's Humanification Bankai, Tengen Myou Dangai Joue Makes him immortal and his Bankai intangible for a short while, like a semi-Lille Barro. Would give most characters trouble. Ishida's Antithesis A shame it wasn't really explained how it works agains the Almighty in the manga, but I'm guessing it's the reason Ishida was able to snipe that arrow into Yhwach at the end. Almighty changes the fate, Antithesis changes it back, would be my guess. Against any other foe this woud be really tricky as well, since Ishida could switch fatal wounds from him onto his opponent. Hascwalth's Balance Very broken, destroyed Zanguetsu and even outhaxed Antithesis. He also gets the Almighty when Yhwch is asleep, making him capable of seeing the future. Askin's Death Dealing Grants him immunity to reiatsu that he has come into contact with, and makes people allergic to their own reiatsu. Knocked out post-palace Ichigo, was about to kill Urahara, Grimmjow, Yoruichi and her brother all at once. Also, gaining immunity from every attack that isn't a one hit kill is insanely strong as a defensive ability. He did get one shot, but War Arc Grimmjow is implied to have become really strong, so it's not really a point against Askin.
Yeah. He named things in the first place, so logically, he's the one who initially gave them their power. He could theoretically take away a weaker character's name and give them a name that made them more powerful, too
This was an epic list. It would be interesting to see a list of strongest shinigami or just general characters once you've discounted their special abilities. So Aizen without the hypnosis is still ridiculously strong, but before the hogyoku would he be stronger than Kenpachi with no shikai/bankai? Or like Ichigo and Byakuya in a fist fight, no bankai or shikai? If anyone could work this out it would be you

You know? Honestly- If Orahime trained her power enough, I think the nature of it could counter a lot on the list. Reject Aisen's hypnosis. Reject Barigan's ageing. Reject Gerard's Miracle. Reject the Visionary. Possibly even reject Book of the End? Not too sure about that one, but it just might be possible. At least of she knew what to "target". I doubt it can defeat the Almighty, though in the same way the Soul King's arm can't be seen by the Almighty if her ability was trained I think she could be immune to it's ability.
Inoue's powers basicaly work on willpower, the more resolve she has, the more powerful and effective they are. The weakness I guess would be lack of concentration or lack of control on emotions, hence why she couldn't heal Ichigo, due to how distressed she was. Probably also couldn't heal him because she doubted herself.
Fluctuating emotions/ unstable mental states is a reasonable if not contrived reason that anyone can understand because you try doing anything after say, a very emotionally draining divorce
The first time Inoue revived Ichigo, she couldn't reject the wound because of Ulquiorra's residual reiatsu. Once Grimmjow sealed Ulquiorra, the reiatsu was removed and she could heal him. Reasonable to assume the same thing happened when she tried to revive him the second time.

I think your list is good. As you yourself said, ranking abilities that are this broken is difficult. I think Kyoka Suigetsu at #7 is just right. Naturally, the All-Mighty is #1 and I think there should be little debate about that. I agree that Kubo wrote himself into a corner with the All-Mighty and just had to come up with something that could possibly counter such a ridiculous ability.

Basically. Then the novels come along with "hey, you know all the awesome abilities Shinigami have used? Yeah, well the Tsunayashiro clan has a sword that can copy them all.." and "Remember Mugetsu? Well, turns out there's this Arrancar under Szayel, who has a technique that essentially records all information, allowing her to resurrect herself and eventually use a weakened mugetsu" not to mention Aura the Fullbringer, who from what I remember basically had matter manipulation via manipulating the souls of any object.

Her Resurrección grants her an ability that allows her to use any kind of ability as long as she knows every information about it. So she analyzed Ichigo and all the info about Mugetsu and then used it to kill Cien Grantz. Ofc it was weaker then the original but still that's broken as hell

If you think about it "Book of the end" would have been great as Aizen's Bankai - The ability not only to create an illusion in front of someone, but also in their past and to deceive reality itself.
I don't think he could come up with a bankai for Aizen so he just said f*ck it. It's hard to go more broken than his shikai & fit the theme still w/o him basically having Gremmy's power. Instead of casting illusions making them real which is jus reality warping like Gremmy. Other than that whats the next step

I like to think Aizen’s bankai is very powerful but situational, or at least reliant on his shikai effect landing. But it’s probably more likely that Kubo wasn’t satisfied with his ideas for it.

Something like: He can completely mindcontrol someone, but while his bankai is active everybody that was affected by his shikai is freed from total illusion until they saw his shikai release again.

So if he was on the verge of death he could use it to reverse the situation. Broken af but fitting for aizen while explaining why he never did use it.
Orihime's powers fluctuate so much because they are only as strong as she believes them to be, and her faith in her own powers fluctuates dramatically due to her low self confidence, counteracted only by her unwavering desire to help people. If she had the confirmation of Aizen or Yuha I believe she would have been god tier
I think to a certain extent it’s also the density of spiritual energy within the damage taken, best I can think of is the two attempts at healing ichigo from ulquiorras attack to the chest, especially with a being such as ulquiorra who may or may not be as strong as the sternritters years later has such a spiritual that feels completely alien compared to the spiritual pressure of others.

We first are told this while Ichigo was battling Renji (who also lacked conviction to follow his own beliefs) vía the Urahara speech about determination. Also when Ichigo didn't allow White's intervention Ulquiorra notices that he is fluctuating between a level extremely weak to a power stronger than him. And the whole fight with Gin he was like "Bro to me you were stronger in the SS arc since you fought me with all you have and now you are falling apart bc of your own insecurities and fears", even Zangetsu later pointed out how his inner world was now upside down and completely covered by water.
@@leosegovia362 Right but realistically how much of a difference could it be and I’d argue the portrayal is still inconsistent. Even when Ichigo hardened his spirit against Kenpachi all it did was give him a little scratch. I don’t think Orihime’s will was weak at either point in healing Ichigo. Soifon’s Shikai against Aizen was an illusion I think but there it was still portrayed that reiatsu was king. I don’t really buy that Ichigo who was logically above any Shinigami on paper at that point (Unohana said he was captain level with only half of his full reiatsu so healed+masked logically…) should be losing to Gin who prior to that was only presented as high tier captain like Byakuya or so just because he’s a little shook. There’s no other point in the series we could point to where it’s portrayed to be the difference in being at 50% or less vs 100%. Plus there’s a bit of a difference between early in that fight vs towards the end, as the fight went on Aizen worrying about Aizen became a bigger issue. Should have overpowered Gin who he had no reason to fear very quickly at the beginning. Ichigo has always been scaled really weird to a point where you have to raise the tier of who he fights to justify it. Grimmjow and base/1st release Ulquiorra for example are objectively stronger than the other Espada by feats and Krige is a top Stern Ritter bc Ichigo just in Shikai at that point was still 2x captain+fullbring increase (which was later proven when he reacted to Kirinji’s surprise punch in base)
@@KurokamiNajimiOhh by all means it's inconsistent, you can't just put a scale and say acurately he attacked with exactly 26.8% of his power in Bleach. The only "laws" as far as I can remember about reiatsu are how much the individual has and how stable is the mind of the one controlling it to let it out.
Ichigo hardened his spirit against Kenpachi reaching maximum release but his overall pool was also being nerfed by the old guy, only after his severe wound "Old Zangetsu" lets out White and with him more of his Shinigami (plus hollow bc of the connected stuff) powers as it was either let him go down the Shinigami path despite what he wanted or leave him to die there.
I also think Orihime wanted to save Ichigo but I don't think that situation is really thought by many. The one you love is lying with a huge hole in his chest dead (ignoring the 1/4 hollow powers which you don't really know all that well), yeah you can restore it but even then it's a heavy blow to take and another point is one fact she herself stated when she refused Grimmjow order of healing Ichigo... You don't want him to die but those thoughts will be around your mind at the time affecting your power. This would be different if a special trait was stated like Dende healing Vegeta bc he was told about the Zenkai boost or also the boost of power granted by coming back to life in Shaman King.
Congratulations you rejected that harsh reality before you with an enourmous effort (as her power is not even a heal but a rejection) now you can sit back and enjoy your reward of him being insta-killed as you only made him come back at full health but at best he recieves half of his reiatsu since in that same scene you mentioned Ichigo tells Unohana that Orihime does not recover reiatsu as well as wounds and I doubt she herself isn't aware of that fact when she could identify Ichigo's bankai as a fuse of two powers as early as the first time seeing it up close against Yammy.
"The Miracle" is basically plot armor.

The first time she heals ichigo after his fight with ulqiorra, she comments about not being able to reject the overwhelming rietsu coming from the stab wound. Perhaps it was part of the reason she couldn't heal him the second time.
Yeah rejecting Ulquirra's reiatsu was incredibly complex as they're both Shinigami, Hollow Hybrids!
Her mental state is the biggest contributor to how strong her power is.
Yhwach was the embodiment of broken sacrificing all other sternritters to gain even more power he would've been unstoppable if it wasn't for the assist of Aizen and Uryu

It gets better when you realise that Yhwach's Almighty is an imperfect version; the Soul King was apparently even more broken, whatever that means.
I think the Soul King's was to make it so it always had been. As in the chosen reality comes into existence without anyone even realising that fate has been altered.
This is probably why he's required to keep the worlds seperate. It's his power that is literally writing the future of those worlds. When he dies, it's like their story is cut short. With nobody to write what happens next, the worlds start to crumble and fall apart.
That's my personal opinion.

And then It's just really dumb how he has to nerf them to beat them.
Kubo is actually a great conceptualizer (is that even a word?). He is great at creating very appealing parts of a story, from characters to scenarios, visually and/or written... but it's a mediocre storyteller, regular at best. That's why Bleach has some great ideas, characters, pieces of a whole that look and feel magnificent, but at the same time stale moments, nonsensical cliches and very messy resolutions to various of the problems he created for the characters to overcome.

I think Gremmy got a lot of hate in the past and i'm not sure it was deserved, i loved how his seemingly invincible power was countered by his own immaturity and lack of experience, and he had some amazing moments.

tbh a lot of these things are just limited by screentime and plot. Ichimonji only gets the one showing against literally the most broken ability of all time, so looks worse by comparison. You give Ichibei a fight against literally anyone else in the series and let him flex his powers and win -> his power naturally looks better
This was a really solid list. I would probably swap nr. 5 and 4, since I think the X-Axis’s ability to be intangible and pierce through anything, is stronger then Respira, since it needs to make actual contact in order to effect something.
I could also see Kyōka Suigetsu being placed over Ryūjin Jakka, since I think it is a lot more versatile, and it was what made Aizen able to fight even someone like Yhwach on somewhat even footing. While Ryūjin Jakka is really powerful, it is at the end of the day, really just an ability with a incredibly high destructive power.
But yes, I definitely agree with the Almighty taking the top spot. I think in a one-on-one fight, there is really no ability in the series that can top it.
That was why the only way to defeat it, was to have several other abilities and factors at play.

I feel what you're saying & the application for KS is better but in a fight Aizen couldn't hurt Yamamoto in that form that's y he takes him out beforehand. As far as we know it likely counters almost all hax on this list. Ichibe's ink wouldn't touch him, BOE couldn't cut him to change his past, Aizen was weary of it, Gerard might get completely erased & Respira might burn away or get the BS Aizen treatment of SP hax negating powers. Gremmy would likely kill himself trying to figure it out but his power itself should handle it, the All Mightty ofc is stronger & X-Axis might hit him from a distance other than those 3 Yamamoto likely takes the other 6 since it completely erases things from existence

Aizen is a patient man and can wait for yama to fight an imagined specter KS created till he defeats it, eventually yama is gonna let his guard down and AIzen is gonna instantly oneshot him (thats how KS becomes OP)
Thats the power of Kyoka sugetsu, and another thing, all these abilities Tommo put above Kyoka lack the incredible scaling that KS has. Take respira or zanka west. They are OP but thats all, remember battles among soul reapers are battles of reiatsu. Respira cant work on aperson not relative to Baragan in power ie Aizen or Yama or Ywatch would simply negate it with sheer power difference. The same applies to yama, his flames too are reitsu based and thus will be negated by aperson that greatly outscales Yama in power level
This is again where Kyoka comes in, it is not negated by power difference as we have seen and can scale as high as Almighty. How can an ability counter something as stupid as Almighty and be placed below in the list? l swear people think OPness is all about brute strength xD Power is more complex than that!!!

It's a more versatile power yes but Aizen won't have the ability to just sit & wait, we kno if Yamamoto's bankai is activated long enough it'll destroy everything around including something as big as the seireitei. In a fight Aizen can't run until Yamamoto runs outta reiatsu. He was able to fool him b/c they were at least comparable in SP. Aizen, Ichigo & Yhwach were in a class of their own so the SP difference doesn't negate any of their abilities but he clearly couldn't use it normal. It didn't last long on Yhwach b/c he was stronger & it didn't seem like he could control what Yhwach saw. He sounds surprised at Yhwach thinking he was Ichigo & it only last a min or so. We also kno Yamamoto found a work around it anyway letting himself get stabbed to react to Aizens reiatsu not illusion

I feel like there is one ability that is extremely broken but would be hard to put on this list because of how little we actually see it. And that would be Uryu's Antithesis, which has a basic and ill-defined ability of basically reversing/exchanging the events of two targets. In a way I think it's very similar to Orihime's Shun Shun Rikka in the sense that they both kind of "reject" the nature of cause and effect.
It's an ability that we only really get to see used and explained in one fight, and it's not really a lot to go off considering that the character he's up against possesses a very similar yet functionally better ability, The Balance (which is in itself a very broken ability especially when combined with the Freund Schild). And it definitely doesn't help that when Uryu does use the ability, while powerful, it does absolutely nothing for him in the long run with him getting bailed out by Yhwach's Auswahlen.
I think we see him use the ability one more time at the end when he shoots the Silver Arrow at Yhwach, because it seems like the arrow pierced him from behind but Uryu is standing in front of him. But I'm not completely sure if that was because of the Antithesis or just Uryu's natural skill with a bow.
Having said all that, it seems that the Antithesis is an ability that is scary enough for Haschwalth to genuinely believe it might pose a threat to both Yhwach and The Almighty, which is pretty high praise all things considered.
So much like with Gremmy and The Visionary, I believe the ability is potentially very dangerous and potentially broken. But due to a combination of Uryu's lack of imagination, lack of experience with his Schrift, and an overall bad matchup it appears a lot weaker than it actually is.
Great list as usual. This is a tough one because in essence you’re having to separate the abilities from the characters using them. For example, Aizen could most certainly defeat Baraggan with Kyoka Suigetsu in probably the exact same way Baraggan actually died (ie tricking him into activating Respira within himself.) However it would still be Baraggans’ own ability killing him, not Kyoka Suigetsu. Obviously Lille would take Baraggan in a fight as well but it ends up being a stalemate until the clock runs. It’s unknown whether X-axis makes him immune from aging and his shrift isn’t working if it’s being decayed so again you have to examine the actual abilities themselves and not the characters in question.
The x axis doesn’t fire projectiles. So lille would most likely 1 shot barragan

I think The Balance > Respira. After all, the only way they could defeat Barragan was to place Respira within him. Having a character that can effectively reflect any bad fortune back onto the opponent would be a perfect counter to almost any "touch it and _______ happens" ability. You could probably also place The Antithesis into that spot, potentially higher if you believe what Haschwalth said about the possibility of using it against Yhwach. The narrative seemed to be that it was one of the most broken Sternritter abilities, but was simply a bad matchup for The Balance, I guess because the full extent of that power can turn your good fortune into bad, plus hit you with extra damage.

He said something that gave me a new perspective and changes my thoughts on tsukishima. And that is am interpretation of the scene where he inserts himself as byakuya's mentor. I always found it bs that he gave byakuya as much trouble as he did, but if that ability basically granted him the extra training to then contend with byakuya, then I can except that. Makes sense in a way.
It's just another facet to why his power is so insane.
Tbh Byakuya has a horrible habit of letting himself fall victim to abilities because of his arrogance. He could've killed Zommari instantly, for example, but was chilling until Zommari did significant damage to him. Tsukishima was lucky with that and got enough time to maximize his ability's advantages before Byakuya took the fight seriously.
Tsuki's still ridiculously strong regardless tho so you're not wrong lol.
It also makes you wonder just how much more broken he would have been had ginjo shared ichigo’s fullbring power with him. Even Ginjo didn’t want to give it to him because his power was already so deadly and he didn’t want to deal with it if double crossed
What I liked the most about Yhwach is that, although I think it was just a flex, having seen how broken Ichigo's bankai was he just straight up denied it. Lot of fans were mad for this but I absolutely loved Kubo for that, finally doing something that's really odd for a manga about fights.
P.s. I did not see a more broken ability than The Almighty in other mangas. It's simply the ultimate no-counterplay. Remember that he can also steal powers and the ones seen in the future cannot hurt him. So... ff?

It's interesting how all these abilities tie into the Bleach-verse as a whole with Tokinada's statements in CFYOW about beings that shouldn't exist, and do so only because of the ancestors shenanigans with the Spirit King and it's reality bending power.
Gremmy is somehow one of my favorite characters even if thinking about his fight with Zaraki for more than 5 seconds makes it dumb lolol just pure fun

IMO that's actually the point. Not just for Gremmy but many of the Stern Ritters. Back in the day Bleach got quite a lot of flack for the quincies being shallow, many of them centered around the gimmick of their schriff. I nodded along too, but then it clicked. That's a very sad and twisted way of hammering home an important lesson. They are just tools for Yuha, broken souls who thought they received God's blessing, but they were merely deceived to be twisted tools for the antichrist not caring one bit for them.
This is very prominent with characters like
Äs Nødt: a bedridden poor fella with a terrible disease so nothing left in his soul but fear... this focus left him with nothing in life but bestowing that fear to anyone in his path once he has the power.
Pepe: Basically an incel with the schriff of horny. Dude craves love so much, but fails to work for it, just forces himself on people, no wonder he gets rejected. This fixation manifests in his schriff, to have the power to force it. Even then, everyone not under the spells finds him utterly disgusting.
And then there is Gremmy, the brain in the jar, to imagine anything. Tho with that life he probably won't have the mental condition to make good use of it. Tho he had to be flawed so that Kenpachi or anyone for that matter to bring him down.
@@janosd4nuke yeah exactly and well I think this is never more apparent than with Gremmy and his fight with Kenpachi. At some point they mentioned how Gremmy had just been let out of his imprisonment to fight in the war cuz his power was too great making him inexperienced, immature and crazy. In essence it shows how he was relegated to a prisoner for being a possible threat. A gracious God would not do this instead they would have helped Gremmy develop. Yet Yuha does it and it shows how he never cared for the Quincy and just considers them tools.
The reason Orihime's power didn't work on Ichigo was because of Ulquiorra spirit energy Or spiritual pressure kinda negates it. (which is pretty OP when you think about it)
She even had a hard time healing his hole when ulq practically jabbed through his chest the first time.
I am pretty sure it was Ichigo's own reiatsu negating Orihimes ability and also the fact that since he had a bunch of reiatsu on him and zangetsu was taking over the body the hole in his chest was not an abnormal condition but a natural one since he was full hollow and Orihime's ability is described as returning things to their natural states. If I remembered things wrong feel free to correct me
Tbh I think it didn’t work was because Orihime was rejecting the wrong event. She was trying to heal an ichigo she thought was dead. Since Ichigo wasn’t dead she couldn’t reject something that didn’t exist yet.

One thing about the visionary versus miracle: those abilities should have some sort of energy consumption. Soul king fragment providing infinite energy for miracle is one thing but can you visionary to restore your own strength? Make a spirit energy battery pack out of thin air? For visionary to be broken as it was I feel it has to multiply the spirit energy put into activating it by some ridiculous multiplier so I imagine restoring yourself is possible? Food for thought

One of my favorite things about Bleach was Kubo's creativity with abilities, to the point where I think it might've been a bit much at times. I remember when we first learned about the Death Dealing and it was just an entire chapter of text boxes to explain what was actually happening and how the ability functioned. Can't wait for the return of the manga to see what ridiculous stuff Kubo comes up with next.

The difference with the visionary is that you have to constantly focus on what you manifested into reality. Once you break focus, the visionary will be undone. So the almighty no matter what will still trump it.
The problem is, The Almighty has been shown to be able to counter even Yhwach's death. So the way I see it, The Almighty would foresee Gremmy removing him from existence and then he would somehow 'counter' that and simply return.

Spirit Body Fusion: Aaroniero is able to merge his spirit body with other beings, including Shinigami. This was originally Metastacia's ability
Zanpakutō Destruction: When a Shinigami touches a specific set of tentacles on Aaroniero's released form, their Zanpakutō is destroyed. It was originally Metastacia's ability.
Hollow Absorption: While all Hollows can cannibalize each other to gain power, Aaroniero has the unique ability to devour a dead Hollow and receive all its abilities and Reiatsu. This ability allows him to evolve without limit.
Kubo made Aaroniero into a complete Re(censored by communist youtube). If he was quite a bit smarter, then he would he waited int the shadows, consumed other fallen espada. In fact, he was the only one who could have become a power rival to Yhwach.
Consumption of: Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio + Cirucci Sanderwicci. He could have waited till battles are over and consume these two easily. By doing so he could have gained enough power to rival even Ichigo.
Consumption of: Zommari Rureaux + Nnoitra Gilga. After these two had and lost their major battles, Aaroniero could have sneaked in and consumed them as well. Doing so would most likely cause him to become the second most powerful espada.
Consumption of: Szayelaporro Granz. This one is tricky, because of super-human drug coursing in Szayel's body. However, consuming him would be extremely beneficial as it would increase his power, intellect and would make him almost immortal.
Consumption of: Yammy Llargo. Well, this one is obvious. Doing so would made Aaroniero into absolute beast. Yammy have tons of power, but he is too dumb to use it effectively. Aaroniero could use that power way smarter.
Consumption of: Coyote Starrk. A quick trip into human world while everyone are busy would yield him an additional power boost.
Lets say he played invasion arc smart, and consumed fallen hollows. Lets say he didn't consume Szayelaporro Granz due to super-human drug, but instead harvested him in some other mean but with way lower efficiency.
At the end of the arc he would have powers and riatsu of:
Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio
Cirucci Sanderwicci
Zommari Rureaux

Most overpowered of the most overpowered. I don't fault you for not being content with the list dude there's just so many busted powers in bleach but in my opinion I think you did this listing ok. To be honest the almighty deserves it's spot at one, the power of that shit is borderline insane.

I just wish kubo did more with her abilities offensively. She had potential to be one of the most powerful support characters in the series

Edit: Alright after watching the whole vid I think you were pretty much spot on. I see the logic of putting Respira that high even above Lille because it could age even light. He's nearly invincible but not quite. The others above can get past it. The only things I'd change is I'd switch Aizen and Tsukishima, BotE is more broken than KS. Aizen would be even more terrifying if he had it. Also find a spot for Askin. The Deathdealing makes anything lethal and makes him immune to any type of attack as long as he doesn't die from it. My list would be:

Yep that's a great list too - I'd have loved to have included Askin but his ability feels a bit more balanced than some of the others.
@@MrTommo2304 I forgot to mention Hitsugaya too. His final ability is to freeze the enemies special ability and shut it down. Adult Hitsugaya is insanely broken and I don't think most people realise that because of who he was fighting. The problem for him was that Gerard is even MORE broken and The Miracle surpasses his ability freeze. But I think he could stop a bunch of people on this list.
ywach almighty is the most broken off all anime universe
I think if the captains weren’t so hasty against Gerard Valkyrie and didn’t repeatedly make him stronger after it was obvious killing him wouldn’t have worked, they could’ve sealed him away. His power is just resurrection from death and immense strength so if you can bind him without killing him with binds stronger than he is, he can be defeated.

I think they were in a bit of a bind to be fair, time was definitely against them. Plus they had to keep worrying about him potentially falling off the side.
After watching this I'm starting to think that in a 1 vs verse setting where people say that goku can solo bleach, I'm wondering if he really could, being about to not die cause of a miracle or being more or less an indestructible sniper or even rerighting himself into gokus memories. I love the way kubo rights his characters and not just have a cycle of lose, train, prevail.

I'm pretty surprised Gin's bankai ability Kamishini no Yari isn't on the list. It's a poison that can break things down on a cellular level. Shoot, it even "killed" Aizen forcing the Hōgyoku to revive him. Unless you're immortal, Gin can kill you no matter what if he wants to.

A fitting character to be called a prodigy but Gin ended for Aizen to rise. I was hoping Kubo bring him back after the arrancar arc to be the good guy n together with rangiku. I guees it's like Itachi huh

All jokes aside, even Chad’s abilities, despite being plain and boring in concept, looked really cool and unique with what Kubo did with his arms. That man is a legend when it comes to designing characters, weapons, powers, and just visuals in general
Kubo has such a great artistic mind. I think that's why he's so creative and why his power system doesn't have many rules. The way he visualizes the powers is so much better than giving us a wall of text explaining it imo. Almost every character no matter how broken their ability is makes sense since it's portrayed visually so well.
I'll be honest I'm kind of sad that Chad is just a jobber most of the time.
It was definitely interesting enough to get people theorizing on what Chad's end-game abilities would be (even though it basically ended up remaining 'hard, Mexican-themed punches')
With how little screen/page time Chad has, sometimes I wonder if Kubo wrote him in just to flex his duolingo spanish
As someone who didn’t read the manga outside of the tybw and is essentially an anime only fan of bleach, I have seen a lot of chad but he never really interested me. I was never the most knowledgeable when it comes to the series since I was a new anime fan. If anyone doesn’t mind, could any of you give me a short description of what chads powers are and why? All I really remember is exactly what you said, he punches really hard. I would really appreciate it, the wiki isn’t the most descriptive from what I’ve seen and doesn’t seem to be as good of a description as I could get from a real bleach fan.
The reason why Orihime couldn't revive Ichigo was because White's reiatsu was stopping her. Its literally stated and shown, she says "a thick black reiatsu" is stopping her from healing him. This is consistent with Bleach's power system as well because regardless of the ability, your hax wont work on someone with WAY more reiatsu than you. So White simply negated Orihime's fulbring and used his reiatsu to revive Ichigo himself.

Unfortunately, people forget this one simple rule. Aizen was also able to negate Soi-Fon's ability because of the difference in power as well.

Did Kubo ever confirm that Aizen's Zanpakuto, Kyoko Suigetsu was his Shikai or a Bankai disguised as a Shikai due to its total hypnosis ability?.
nope we still dont know but aizen definitely has a busted bankai you can just tell 😭
@@flarenexuz1159 Knowing how OP Aizen is, he could easily keep a Zanpakuto in Bankai mode. I could imagine his Shikai is either Suigetsu or Kyoko as most Bankai's names are an extention of their Shikai's name.

How the hell is Kyoka Suigetsu or the Hogyoku not Number 1? Even Ywach with Mimihagi & the Soul King absorbed aand with Almighty activated couldnt negate either ability.
I don't think we know whether Aizen actually got beaten once Yhwach got him with the black stuff. He's just kinda.. there again after Yhwach is killed.

I was wrong, I expected Book of the End to be in the top areas... interesting to see how things progress. I'm updating this as I watch on. (I disagree with the assessment of what happened with the power versus Byakuya. I think he's just so knowledgeable on Byakuya's skills now, he's able to counter them.)
The rest make sense to me, no real issues or surprises after BotE :)

Agree with all of these except Barragan, who is way too high on the list IMO. That spot should've gone to one of the Wandenreich (Uryu or Haschwalth come to mind). And I don't think Respira completely trumps kido either; Hachi's attack did deal some damage, it's just that most of it got mitigated. Likely if Starrk had shot him with an endless barrage of ceros though he wouldn't be able to age them all.
In general though, a lot of these abilities get into the realm of unstoppable force vs immovable object. By that I mean it's hard to rank them without pitting them directly against each other. How would Gremmy's ability of imagination work against the Miracle? Would he be able to imagine that Gerard's power simply doesn't work or does Gerard's power trump that? You really can't say without pitting them against each other.

Remember the basics from Kenpachi vs Ichigo and even Soi Fon vs Aizen:
Every battle is a battle of reiatsu. Her reality warping 'healing' powers go pretty far, beyond death in a sense. Tho if Menoly were to rot there for weeks, I'm not sure she could bring her back. But if the damage is caused by a spiritual pressure that outclassses her with leauges, her abilities will fail way before their natural limit. This logic was a perfect answer to me anytime her abilities were seemingly nerfed.

I wish the author could use my idea to redesign the Sternritter abilities and remake the TYBW arc. Because most of them are not broken. I wanted to make every one from 26 Sternritters more broken abilities than Kubo made.

We’ve technically never seen aizens bankai but his hypnosis has to be one of the most broken abilities in anime history besides maybe Kamui from Obito. Actually maybe not in all of anime that may be a reach
I believe you are mistaken about gremmy not being fit for it's power. This inmaturity he has, his childishness, etc are qualities that allow his imagination to be wild and unrestrained, after all children have more imagination than adults. Him losing to saraki speaks only of the sheer terror that fighting Kenny entails, also the double edge of the power of imagination, the possibility of self destruction.
There's just one thing I'd swap.
There is nothing more powerful in fiction than reality warping. Period. If you can warp reality, you can do anything. And you had a pretty good sense of putting Yuha and Gremmyon number 1 and 2, because they are in fact the two characters who have been shown to be best at using reality warping. But there are many characters you've missed. Urahara's bankai is also a reality warping ability. It should be up there below Gremmy's, because Gremmy isn't limited by range and has more feats. Tsukishima can also reality warp, his power is much more than just changing the mindset of the ones he cut, he can actually warp the past reality of events - he literally reality warped Ichigo's bankai back into existance after Yuha Bach erased it. Another character who comes to mind is empowered Yukio. Even though his ability seemed limited and his feats are very underwhelming, the ability itself is still bordering on reality warping. The top 5 should all be reality warpers.
Don't forget Kyoraku, he can also sort of warp reality
@@HOLDENPOPE In some sense yes, but his control over it seems almost non existent so in a barrel of reality warpers he eould be close to the bottom. Not because his ability isn't powerful, it clearly is, but from what we know he can only create a very specific set of events with his bankai, and he has no control over it. The rest of reality warpers I mentioned is basically only limited by imagination when it comes to what they can change.

Other than Ywach, Gremmy was not only the most powerful Sternritter but also the most dangerous because he can kill all the other Sternritters and Schutzstaffle with ease!
i expected the mature hitsugaya to be since his ability of instance freez and nullifing the ability of others seems so broken
I wonder if Tsukishima's 'Book of the End' would effect Yhwach.
Yhwach can see the future so he can see that tsukishima is messing with his past and so he can rewrite it
Some honorable mentions:
Gin's bankai, Kamishini no Yari:
Literally one hit killed Aizen, faster than he could even react. If not for the loyalty of the Hogyoku, Aizen would've been toast right there ( ascended Aizen, no less). This means that Gin with Bankai can one shot most heavy hitters in the series.
Komamura's Humanification Bankai, Tengen Myou Dangai Joue
Makes him immortal and his Bankai intangible for a short while, like a semi-Lille Barro. Would give most characters trouble.
Ishida's Antithesis
A shame it wasn't really explained how it works agains the Almighty in the manga, but I'm guessing it's the reason Ishida was able to snipe that arrow into Yhwach at the end. Almighty changes the fate, Antithesis changes it back, would be my guess. Against any other foe this woud be really tricky as well, since Ishida could switch fatal wounds from him onto his opponent.
Hascwalth's Balance
Very broken, destroyed Zanguetsu and even outhaxed Antithesis. He also gets the Almighty when Yhwch is asleep, making him capable of seeing the future.
Askin's Death Dealing
Grants him immunity to reiatsu that he has come into contact with, and makes people allergic to their own reiatsu. Knocked out post-palace Ichigo, was about to kill Urahara, Grimmjow, Yoruichi and her brother all at once. Also, gaining immunity from every attack that isn't a one hit kill is insanely strong as a defensive ability. He did get one shot, but War Arc Grimmjow is implied to have become really strong, so it's not really a point against Askin.
Question: if Ichibee restores one's name with his zanpakutoo, does that person gains his/her abilities back also?
Yeah. He named things in the first place, so logically, he's the one who initially gave them their power. He could theoretically take away a weaker character's name and give them a name that made them more powerful, too

This was an epic list. It would be interesting to see a list of strongest shinigami or just general characters once you've discounted their special abilities. So Aizen without the hypnosis is still ridiculously strong, but before the hogyoku would he be stronger than Kenpachi with no shikai/bankai? Or like Ichigo and Byakuya in a fist fight, no bankai or shikai? If anyone could work this out it would be you

@@AnimeIsArt21 Kenpachi definitely wouldn’t be able to beat Aizen he has no way of dealing with complete hypnosis. And Hogokyou Aizen most definitely isn’t losing to Kenpachi even if he used bankai. Would be a good fight tho
Tbh just having powerful spiritual pressure/energy would negate almost all of these abilities so they are overpowered unless your overpowered
Yeah, theoretically. The Soul King -related abilities (stuff like the Almighty/Miracle) are the only ones that would probably still beat someone with more reiatsu, which does make sense

Reject Aisen's hypnosis.
Reject Barigan's ageing.
Reject Gerard's Miracle.
Reject the Visionary.
Possibly even reject Book of the End? Not too sure about that one, but it just might be possible. At least of she knew what to "target". I doubt it can defeat the Almighty, though in the same way the Soul King's arm can't be seen by the Almighty if her ability was trained I think she could be immune to it's ability.
Inoue's powers basicaly work on willpower, the more resolve she has, the more powerful and effective they are. The weakness I guess would be lack of concentration or lack of control on emotions, hence why she couldn't heal Ichigo, due to how distressed she was. Probably also couldn't heal him because she doubted herself.
Fluctuating emotions/ unstable mental states is a reasonable if not contrived reason that anyone can understand because you try doing anything after say, a very emotionally draining divorce
The first time Inoue revived Ichigo, she couldn't reject the wound because of Ulquiorra's residual reiatsu. Once Grimmjow sealed Ulquiorra, the reiatsu was removed and she could heal him. Reasonable to assume the same thing happened when she tried to revive him the second time.
I Imagine the Lite Novels would destroy the ordering of this list lmao. Azashiro's Urozakuro, Roka Paramia's Negacion threads, Tokinada's Enrakyoten, Aura Michibane's Soul Subjugation....
I think your list is good. As you yourself said, ranking abilities that are this broken is difficult. I think Kyoka Suigetsu at #7 is just right. Naturally, the All-Mighty is #1 and I think there should be little debate about that. I agree that Kubo wrote himself into a corner with the All-Mighty and just had to come up with something that could possibly counter such a ridiculous ability.
