    The van's looking great. The black and green combo really looks well. I clicked on the carpenter/mechanic link as I had not seen that one, well done on curing the leak and overcoming issues arising on the way. Having had my wheels powder coated I do the same as you and regularly check with torque wrench,

      Thanks for the nice comment. Fixing the van was a big job to take on but I’m glad I do it myself, I learnt a lot!

    Love the green colour. I wouldn’t have done the black base but it does look good with all the other black elements except the black fuel door should have been green too. I’d love to paint my sprinter dark green but being in Australia the dark colour would make the van hotter inside esp in our hot summers … but so tempting as it looks so cool. Great job 👏

    Van looks great! I think you made the right decision to not paint the bonnet black…. If I’m being fussy, I would have painted the fuel flap green to have kept the line. Really pleased for you that the starlink is proving a success! Enjoy being back in it!!

      Thanks for the nice comment. I may change the fuel flap in the future, I did the same on my caddy and really liked it but I think you might be right about following the line 👍🏼

      Really well actually, few areas I need to touch up but that’s down to me and not the quality of the paint.

    Ref the wheel nuts you can get black plastic wheel nut covers that have the pointer markers on them same as HGV vehicles use. You just pop them over your wheel nuts and point the pointers to each other so you know if any wheel nuts have moved....

    Awesome paint job Cam. Have you considered Unistrut for the roof? I have it for my solar panels worked a treat & gives me a fixing in point for an awning for the Dog need to buy. Thank you for doing Raptor with a roller Videos. I need to touch up mine. 👍

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  6 месяцев назад

      Cheers mate, I did have unistrut on the roof years ago but had problems with leaks where I fixed them down. I like to have a low profile on the roof as well to keep it tidy but unistrut is well handy!
      If you know the paint code the place I got mine from will mix the tint up for you.

    Looking good Cam. Quick question about your tilting solar. Are you not worried about any wind getting underneath the side that raises? How do you lock it in place when travelling? I didnt see anything in the video... Thanks in advance.

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you. So it’s not secured down on one side but I do have plans to add a latch to release them. The hinges fix them down on one side and the linear actuators hold the solar panels down pretty well with no problems so far.

    What happened with the gearbox repair/service?

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  6 месяцев назад +1

      It turned out the gearbox was fine and it was just a propshaft bearing, did a full service myself but I had a big oil leak to sort out. Here’s the link to the video ruclips.net/video/4k_gRY0L2C0/видео.htmlsi=xcyh_l3GJHeJkwPi

    Not a fan of making lights worse with tint. Splitting them and spraying the chrome satin black would have been better imo, but then it’s not my van

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  6 месяцев назад

      I did not know you could split headlights, I’m going to have to look into this now because even I would prefer that. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼

    Great job on the van, question for you, why did you go with the fixed starlink over other version

    • @livinginkevlar
      @livinginkevlar  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. I went with a fixed starlink because I didn’t want to keep setting up the dish every time we moved, making it flat mounted also gave me the option of making it 12v. So far it’s been amazing 👌🏼
