Awesome vid. It's about 40 degrees every day where I'm living in Australia, so I was laughing at those mid 20s quabbles :D Quick question, do you think you could use a regular large roller and tray for the base coat, and just use the textured rollers for the top coat?
It’s just me being fussy! There is chrome in the headlights and nowhere els on the bodywork so I just wanted a smoky tint to it to hide the chrome. If I’m being honest they could do with less tint on them but I messed up, however I do have extra lights on the van now to help me see at night. Safe to say though I’m over the moon with the end result mate 👍🏼
Should have hired a compressor and done it the easy way. It looks really difficult to cover with a roller and you had to work your arse off to achieve what you did. Bet the neighbours love you in mock tudorville.
I already have a compressor, I did mention it in my video but I think I would have to do more prep work like cover the driveway, my neighbours cars, garage door etc in the end I thought it would be better to roller it. The only downside was the heat so if it was cooler I think it would of been a lot easier. Actually my neighbours are really nice apart from one miserable git! 😂
@@livinginkevlar I knew it love her music too and love the content I will defo tune in every week like I do with all my van life content creators. Keep up the grind and hopefully one day I'll spot this beauty of a van in Bournemouth one day
I didn’t like the chrome in the headlights, it doesn’t match the vehicle. I did only want a light smoke tint so I’m probably going to sand them back again.
Very thorough job there , I’ll be doing mine this summer, thanks for the tips
Thanks, just don’t do it on a really hot day unless you’re undercover 👍🏼 find me on Instagram and let me know how it goes.
Nice video and the van is looking great 👍 well done
Thank you, part 3 will be out Monday and you’ll get to see it finished…well van builds are never truly finished 😄
You've just help me decide on my colour scheme for my food truck. What's the paint code 👍 love the van 😎
It’s called Olive Drab 381 298 BS298, hope this helps and the food truck will look great 👍🏼
You fillet geezer 👍
Looks great Cam… love the colours! Texture might make it a pain to clean? All in all, good job! 👍🏻
Thanks a lot 👍🏼 Definitely can’t use a sponge on it but a decent scrubbing brush apparently works well.
@@livinginkevlar Long Handle scrubbing brush/broom with a bucket of decent snow foam works a treat Cam if you can get one👍
Great video all round, just one question how many 5ltrs tubs was used?
2x 5Ltr tintable
1x 5Ltr black

Best to have a few mini rollers at hand or sleeves and keep, the handle clean.
Have you painted a vehicle yourself with raptor paint?
I don't understand the spray on the headlights. I'd want mine clear. Most importantly, are you happy now happy with the result?

Peeling the tray shows the importance of keying the body before you paint
Absolutely! So glad I put in all the extra effort to make sure it stuck to the bumper and trims.
Dont see the point in spraying lights

Does it peel off the van as easily as the paint tray 😂🤣😂🤣
So far it’s staying on the van 😂
Bit stupid to tint your headlights mate
