Great stuff lads.i lived in the states a few yrs ago and people were using raptor and I thought they were mad and it was crap looking, but in the last yr or 2 it has really grown on me and now I really like it.strange things happen never say never.lol.cheers lads.
Just yesterday I got a wonderful complement from an older lady regarding my metalflake Emerald Green Raptor-lined '02 Vitara Cabriolet. She said that she really loved the color and texture. I finished the job two and a half years ago, and it looks as good as the day it was done. A year ago I covered the Raptor liner with Cerakote ceramic finish, and the water still beads up. Highly recommended!
😀that's great, its lovely to hear about other people using raptor on there vehicles, Ive had so many comments on mine from all the shows I go to, I love it, Best of luck and thanks for the comment👍
That looks the 'dogs', a really nice job. We are now thinking of spraying our motorhome with it, son in law has done his pickup in army green 'Raptor'and that looks fantastic!.
Hi, Thanks for you comment and thanks for watching my video, it took a lot of hard work but I'm so happy the way it turned out, good luck on your raptor project 👍
I sprayed it in my friends landlords workshop, I’m not sure what size compressor it is but you don’t need a big compressor, I used an underbody sealer gun to spray it👍
Hello Adam, very interesting video, I'm looking at respraying our own van. Great to see all the prep work that goes into doing this. I would like to see how it looks around the doors shuts, having been sprayed with the doors closed? Looks nice now its all done :D
Hi Greg, Thanks for the comments, when I sprayed the van I didn't spray around the inside of the doors, I am going to brush /roller raptor it when the better weather gets here, That will be another video, Hope you guys are well, when is your next vid coming out. Cheers Adam :)
@@adamshayes I had to pull the last video because RUclips didn't send it out to my subscribers :S buggers up my viewing figures and affects income etc, so that is scheduled to come back out this Sunday. Hi Wayne, Thanks for your comment mate, the stuff I used for the plastic parts was this, paintman.co.uk/shop/raptor-paint-adhesion-promoter-aerosol/ and the colour tint I used was this www.buzzweld.co.uk/raptor-paint-colours.html just put in Ral 7016 Anthracite Grey in the colour code, hope this helps mate, good luck👍
that's pretty cool. I wonder what impact, if any, having a "fuzzy" finish like that have on aerodynamics? Probably not much, on a something that already has all the slipstream qualities of a barn :)
I'm thinking it might actually be better... That's why golf balls have little dimples all over them to instigate turbulent flow over the ball, maybe the same thing happens with this coat of paint
@@adamshayes on that subject, I remember reading about how shark skin and it's texture helps them move more efficiently through the water. I think it was because of the micro turbulence on the surface acting like a lubricant? They apparently replicated it on an aircraft and it improves efficiency by a marked amount. Hey Adam, i can’t comment on your post in my raptor paint group as I’m currently in Facebook jail 🤦♂️ Great video bud I’ll add it to the RUclips section of the group when I’m aloud 😂
Hi Lee, thanks 👍, It’s a lot of hard work but it’s worth the effort in the end, I used 22 litres in total, hope it all goes well with your spray job mate, Cheers 👍
Hi Adam, great video! Just so I understand do you buy tint and another product for the paint? or just 22L of the tint from buzzweld and then that's what is sprayed onto the van?
Hi Ben, Thanks for you comment, The 22L is Raptor that comes without any colour, you then add the colour tint to the raptor and then spray it on, Hope that helps mate.
Hi Aron, thanks for your comment, there was a small amount of overspray on the floor but nothing on any other surfaces, really good stuff to spray with, hope that helps.
Great video Adam we love the look of a raptord van, what’s life like now with it two years on? Has it lasted well, Any issues? Thinking of doing our VW this year the same 🤘
Hi, thanks for you comment and for watching, It has been great, easy to clean, just wash it with warm soapy water and a brush and it looks as good as new, No problems with it and I would defiantly do it again, Hope that helps and good luck with your project👍cheers
Hi Im not sure what compressor it was but I was told it was a small one, you don't need a lot of pressure to spray raptor, Cheers and thanks for watching👍
Thanks mate, I used 22 litres of raptor and I bought it all including the tint from Buzzweld, Hope that helps 👍 www.buzzweld.co.uk/raptor-bedliner-paint-shop.html
Hi Max, Thanks for the comment👍, I used 22 litres with no thinners, I had no experience of spraying up until I did my van, I watched a load of RUclips videos and thought why not just go for it, so I did, It turned out fantastic, you can’t really go wrong with this stuff, didn’t start spraying till 7.30 in the evening and finished it just after midnight lol, hope this helps, cheers 👍
Hi, thanks for your comment, not sure how much it would be to get it done professionally but it cost me about £800 to £900, hope that helps, thanks for watching👍
Hi Louis, Thanks for the comment, Sorry for the late return to you question, all in including the spray gun it cost around £800, used about 22 litres, Hope that helps, Cheers 👍
Hi, Thanks for the comment, I did 2 coats about 1 and half hours apart, used 22 litres of raptor, hope that helps and good luck with your Raptor spray job, thanks for watching 👍
Why,why why, it looks like a cheap and nasty bodge job. It would have looked so much better with a nice new shiny coat of paint and would have been cheaper.
It's a hell of a lot more practical on a campervan than 'shiny paint', you pickup scuffs & scratches all the time due to tight campsites & overhanging trees, this is a great alternative and it definitely doesn't look like a 'nasty bodge job'!!!!!.

Nice looking job. What was the colour shade?
Hi Clive, its RAL 7016 anthracite grey, Cheers
Looks great and did a very good job Alround. How many bottles did you use of raptor for a van that size ?
How many roughly per sides and roof including the 2nd coat
Hi Thanks for your message, I used 22L of raptor, I can't remember how many bottles I used per side👍

Hi no it won't affect the insurance just being resprayed, cheers👍
Nice colour, but what is it like to Wash does it come clean?
Lol I haven’t washed it yet😂 I live out in the sticks and it’s caked in mud at the moment, I will give it a wash and let you know Garth, Cheers 👍
