  • Freeing up some room in the cramped engine bay of the 3000gt VR4 by relocating the battery to the trunk. Relocation of the battery is easier than it looks and hopefully this How To video can aid others into successfully doing so. Installed a new Optima yellow top. If you have any questions is steps taken or tools used feel free to ask a question in the comments below.

You are most welcome. The engine bay can be very tight so every little bit helps

Hi, great content. I am looking to do the same. Can you please post links to all the hardware and tools you used to accomplish this? 2 ga.wire, battery tray, terminals, stud, circuit breaker, rivet tool, etc! I really appreciate it! Keep up the great videos!

with the finished cutout in the back seat it allows the seats to lock into place and looks like it belongs in the rear. also have a master kill switch in reach of the driver seat.

Awesome Video, Man! Could you have centered it in the rear? Was there a reason u kept it on the passenger side other than keeping the wiring short and clean?

Yeah the engine bay is super cramped. I'm removing the cruise control, clutch booster, ABS, egr, washer bottle, and fuse box. My end goal is single turbo so I need lots of room

We're you able to put your rear seats back?

Yep. The rear seats are back in place. I did have to make a slight modification to the passanger side rear seat to allow for the battery to kinda sit inside the back of it

what did you do with the ground wire in the front of the car ?

I put it to the factory chassis ground point. You can extend the line and remove the inline battery terminal. As long as it properly grounded to a chassis bolt it should be good.
