Titanfall 1 and 2 are still going 1 is harder to play due to the removal from the stores buy 2 is still available Titanfall 2's story is great and the ending will hit your heartstrings but yes it's still going it's a fantastic game if only EA didn't release it between Battlefield 1 and Cod so yeah ea messed up. There's a PvE multiplayer mode so if you don't want to go against players Frontier defense is an option.

The story campaign of this is actually one of the best story campaigns I've seen for a first person shooter.
It's so good that Netflix thought they could hide it as the bulk of the better part of the plot for the new JLo movie, Atlas.

Halo 2-Reach, DOOM: Eternal, and Titanfall 2 raised the bar for their respective genres of sandbox shooter, boomer shooter, and twitch shooter

Kai, I'm unsure how much you play video games, or as to what some of your favorite genre's of Video Games are, but if you do play a lot; Titanfall 2's Campaign is one I will attempt to sell to people every time. Great little First Person Shooter story. HIGHLY recommend.

So essentially, they did Titanfall 2, it was successful for a while but ultimately was released around the same time as two major other IPs of shooter games, so it didn't get quite the launch they hoped.
It held a strong player base, then they released Apex Legends (same devs) and when Titanfall 2 was DDOSed, they essentially let the servers die. In the meantime, fans created their own client and servers to keep it going.
Recently, the devs actually fixed and restarted the servers, alongside giving small hints (supposedly) here and there about a possible new game, involving Apex, and the original Titanfall.
As another note, many express that the campaign for Titanfall 2 (despite being semi-short) was one of the best campaigns in gaming for a shooter. And has a mission that's also one of the highest regarded missions in shooters as well.
It's tragic.
The Titanfall 2 single-player story campaign was epic. I wondered if I should play the multiplayer PvP too but then the servers and its community kinda disappeared.
@@TF2CrunchyFrog The servers are semi-stable now to my knowledge. Last I played around the anniversary I saw a peak of like 10k players but I think since it averages a couple of thousand or so, which is disappointing. But at least it's something.

For context. Apex Legends is made by the same developers and takes place after the war in Titanfall 2 has ended. A lot of the characters in Apex are linked to Titanfall in some aspect including one of them being the daughter of a boss fight in Titanfall 2
They shot themselves in the foot with that. They could have had an epic story for titanfall 3 about ending the war but instead we get Apex

Actually Apex legends takes place in a alternate universe since some of the bosses in titanfall 2 are playable in Apex instead of dead.

Hey Kai,
as someone who played it recently, I must say that the campaign is 100% better than most "competitors" in this genre. The story is great, the levels are very well done and the gameplay is easy and intuitive (you get punished only on harder difficulties, so choosing an easier one doesn't take anything off the amazing story, except the "boss fights" against the main pilots of the other faction).
Unfortunately, the IP is "on hold" as these guys are also the devs of Apex Legends, which EA values much more compared to another singleplayer game, so the chances of getting a Titalfall 3, even if the fans would love it, are pretty minimal.
Funny that you mentioned Call of Duty multiple times. Respawn was founded by Infinity Ward co-founders, when they departed from Activision, after MW2

here are some interesting facts about titanfall 2 and its developer, Respawn
2 of the 3 people who founded Infinity Ward went on to make Respawn in 2010.
titanfall 2 runs on a heavily modified Source Engine (half-life, left 4 dead, portal, ect). the first game had no single player with its story being told across all the multiplayer maps.
and now, my opinion: titanfall 2 is one of my all time favorite FPS games. gameplay is slick, campaign is straight up amazing... it captures that feel of classic CoD, especially during the original MW era

Titanfall 2 Campaign highly reccomended: Short, good narrative, visually stunning, great gameplay and emotionally impactful. So much crammed into a few short hours that you will never forget. Respawn's greatest sin was never releasing TF3 😢
As others have said, if you like first person shooters and story line, it's a fantastic choice. The campaign is short, but it's amazing. I'd watch you play it, and I don't even watch let's plays, but Titanfall 2 is an exception.

You should definitely grab it and play for the story. The campaign is one of the best. The multiplayer is mostly dead but has a very small but hardcore player base who have mastered the movement in game. Check out some vids of the guys that are next level at moving in Titanfall AFTER you play to see just how far behind you are on the power curve. Loads of fun with a sky high ceiling. Hope you give it a go. It’s a wonderful experience.
oh yes, still active, this game had a rebirth when it came out on Steam. Additionally, the campaign is still a joy to go through. Apex also spawned from this, technically a spinoff of the Titanfall universe and some of the characters from the Titanfall story appear in Apex legends. (I really hope they eventually make another game in this universe in the style of Titanfall 2; no more BRs)
An additional fun note, the original founders of Respawn entertainment came from original infinity ward, who are the creators of the original Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare, so there is absolutely some shared DNA, but they really perfected movement in this game where moving around just feels really good. (I feel this was lost in Apex, but I guess that was done for a couple of reasons: Last I checked there are no pilots in Apex, which are supposed to be something like a Witcher in terms of strength and speed, and also for balance reasons, they wanted to slow movement down so it could be evenly played across all systems)
Additionally, additionally, the multiplayer tends to incorporate bots for the regular foot soldiers, so they have a great balance of having gameplay with VERY high skill ceilings that allow for the really good players to pop off and do amazing things, but without costing the less good players, or newbies from feeling like they are so bad that there is no enjoyment here. (Killing the ai enemies in the main game mode "Attrition" actually contributes to your team's success and can win the game if you really focus and keep at it) Also, the atmosphere in MP is epic, with the comms chatter, the drop in from a dropship, to the escape for the losing team, it's an adrenaline rush and so well orchestrated.
With how good these trailers are, how tragic is it that this game came out in the same week as Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite, which basically doomed it to fail...

Played this the day it came out. Played multi-player for a few years. Probably one of my all-time favorite games ever. Sad what EA did to this amazing game. Nothing comes close to the game play even today 😢

I'm so glad you decided to do this. This game is an ABSOLUTE HIDDEN GEM. Due to horrible release date it never really took off as it should've. The campaign is the definition of short and sweet, it's amazing with many great ideas, one specific level is even considered the best FPS level in history by some :)
So Titanfall was born from a bunch of devs that left the call of duty dev team to go do their own things, they came out with Titanfall 1 which was a phenomenonial multiplayer only shooter but lacked in player count. Then Titanfall 2 comes out with a fantastic singleplayer campaign and an equally as good multiplayer, still suffering from a below average playerbase. Then they release apex legends, a battle royale set within the titanfall universe, just lacking the titans. Apex skyrocketed in popularity, becoming one of the largest in its scene until fortnite came along. Respawn Entertainment hasn't made anything new in the 6 years since, just continuously supporting apex. So Titanfall might be dead, cannibalised by the success of its own spin-off, but we won't know until Respawn makes another game or two.
But yes, the single-player campaign for titanfall 2 is well worth it. Highly recommended. I think it's only like 8 hours or something. You're standard shooter story length.

Us Pilots and Our Titans
Btw, the guy talking is the foot soldier that falls down at the start, jack cooper, we he falls we watch the pilot arrive through his eyes as he is on the ground. And the pilot seems to be highlighted because he is being idolized by cooper who want to be a pilot himself. So when on of the legends arrive onto the battlefield everything we see is through some astonished lense of how pilots are. Of course this is made to contrast the first hour of gameplay, cause this cinematic plays right before you start your journey. One of the best campaings in a shooter ever. There are coop modes against machines in multiplayer so you can still play those.
30:00 what you talked about with the zoom and blurring on the edges reminded me of a weird but certainly cool thing this game does.
The in-game camera that is used to display the game on your screen has a focal length. it determines what you are looking at and blurs things too close or far away. It does a good enough job at it that you usually don't really notice but playing back your own gameplay will let you see it more. it's pretty cool.

7:59 The first game was amazing key on was right up until they announced the second one and that they would be turning off the servers for the first. And the second game was so riddled with cheats and cheaters that they lost their entire fan base. It's complete trash now. There's almost not enough people who play regularly to even start a game without bots taking up most of both teams.
You should react to the "Victory is ours!" War thunder trailer. One of my absolute favourites and always gets me to boot up the game again every time I see it.
I'm no film maker but it has a lot of the elements you often comment on like the sound of battle still being heard despite the trailer music to elevate it and draw you in.
Apex legends also has great cinematics. My personal favorite is the stories from the outlands promise. Most of the cinematics by Respawn are really good
Titanfall 2 is one of my most favorite games I have ever played, I almost teared up at the ending. Though due to the ddos I haven't played in years.
My man, from one Halo fan to another PLEASE play TitanFall 2's single player campaign. It's the best sci-fi story I've played, you like cinematic moments? Respawn are the king of them.

Kai, I highly recommend you playing the whole campaign of Titanfall 2. After playing a lot of FPS with campaign, its really one of the best I've ever played. Plus, if you like the world of Avatar (Pandora) I recommend you play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora or see the cinematics they made of it.
I've not seen that game in action, Avatar that is... any good? I might have to check the single player out, absolutely!
@@kaizammit Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I'm currently playing the campaign in solo, you can play it with a friend as well but the whole world in there is alive and beautiful. And all the point that has the story and some secondary missions is to know who you are as a Na'Vi.

I don't know why I just started tearing up just now. But that is how BRILLIANT of a game TF|2 is. It's absolutely NOTHING like CoD lol. And yes, Apex is based on this universe.
If you want a bit more info about titanfall creation, Respawn, the studio that created Titanfall, is directed by the former lead designers of Infinity ward up until Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, they had a clash with Activision boss Robert Kotick (probably the biggest drama in the history of video game industry) and decided to leave to create the game of their dreams, Titanfall, with Call of Duty, they mastered the « shooting » part of an FPS game, but West and Zampella (Respawn bosses) wanted to master the « moving » part of an FPS, Robert Kotick, Activison boss, who knew they wanted to create a game like titanfall, started to make 3 dimensional moving mechanics in his Call of Duty games, Infinite Warfare, Black Ops 3 etc, which pretty much killed the hopes and dreams of Titanfall to be a Call of Duty killer

The comparisons to Call of Duty are definitely apt. Respawn Studio, the developers for the game, were formed by key members of the original Call of Duty devs.
The singleplayer is absolutely worth checking out. It's campy, but the core themes are well handled, the pacing is solid, and the gameplay is constantly introducing new ideas and fun elements. It never wears out its welcome.
ABSOLUTELY play the campaign for Titanfall 2, it's one of those games that are absolutely best when you experience them yourself personally
As a Die-hard Titanfall fan, and a local filmmaker myself, watching you react to the trailers is so awesome. Many people have said, Apex Legends is the Battle Royal Titanfall game. Same Devs, same world, a lot of the same guns, and abilities(made different and without the robots :( ). While its not Titanfall 3, for awhile it served/serves as a great game for those looking for a new Titanfall itch. Anyways, keep up the awesome reactions!
When the Titanfall 2 video game trailers are better than the entire (weirdly boring) mech-themed Netflix movie called _Atlas_ (whose scriptwriters scrounged plotpoints and visuals and story bits and pieces from _Aliens, Terminator, Starship Troopers, Pacific Rim_ and of course _Titanfall_ and _Mechwarrior._ And then added an annoying protagonist who screamed half the movie and the entire story was basically, "She has to get over her childhood trauma by finally doing what people repeatedly told her". Ellen Ripley she ain't. Not to mention, the writers called the movie after the (male) Greek Titan from mythologie, but gave the titular name _to the human protagonist_ instead of to the mecha!
History Lesson: So apex legends is the spiritual successor to Titanfall. It takes place in the same universe (uses a lot of the same weapons and equipment) but is battle royale. Titanfall 2 launched at the same time as Battlefield 1 and COD so it didn’t have very good sale numbers which unfortunately led to its death. Despite this it is considered one of the best shooters in the last decade with an extremely solid campaign and amazing multiplayer. Titanfall 3 was reportedly being made before being shut down by Respawn so for now all we have is Apex legends. Apex has a lot of cinematic trailers which are really well done and fun and most fans hope we might get show like Arcane but in the Apex (Titanfall universe).
would love to see you tackle the Titanfall 2 campaign! I believe the game servers are still up for MP (despite EA's best efforts.) The singleplayer campaign is actually really tightly written and executed and is imo one of the best ones of modern gaming
You should have a look at Section 8 and Section 8: Prejudice. They're older games. But I was recently thinking about them and was wondering what your thoughts on the trailers would be
Play the single player campaign, if you want to play multiplayer I recommend using the Northstar client. It adds a lot of things like game modes, more stable servers, less/no hackers, and mods. Lot more fun. But the skill level I higher
You will be happy to play this game. Multiplayer is insanely hard for new people, however. The extreme movement you can do in this game makes a much higher skill gap for new and old players. One thing I like about the main multiplayer mode is it really feels like an active battlefield with NPC's everywhere.
If it sells it anymore, the game is by far one of my favourite stories. Its a bit emotional in a way too, reminds me of how halo made us feel. They recently brought this game back to life, opening multiplayer up again and its made a huge comeback. Sadly Apex legends has taken this beautiful idea out of its spotlight the last few years. If you do play it, I'm sure we would all love it. The story is amazing, multiplayer is actually really fun and badass, sadly its really hard for most people. As many veteran players are still playing and mopping up the lobbies. The game goes on sale quite a bit, I think I paid $7 CAD for it on steam when its originally a full priced game.
This game is widely seen as the best multiplayer FPS ever made and it has an amazing story, but unfortunately it is barely ever talked about nowadays because the game Apex legends, that is set in the same universe, is much more popular, despite Titanfall being the better game. I completely agree with you that this IP is a goldmine and should 100% be made into a movie.🤞🤞
Titanfall is such a great IP! Shame EA are beyond stupid and wont do anything with it other than Apex Legends. You should give the campaign a go! It's so bloody good! lol
I've not watched you play any of the games yet, but I can highly recommend the singleplayer for TF2. It'll take you like 6h or so if that, so its not long, but its amazing
thankfully the Titanfall franchise is alive and well thanks to Apex legends, which is set 30 years after the frontier war in Titanfall 2, but unfortunately we haven't gotten a proper TF game since 2. i also highly recommend Apex's trailers and stuff if you haven't done it yet, particularly the cinematic launch trailers and the stories from the outlands cinematics, if you like the Overwatch style of cinematic shorts you'd like the apex stuff, there is quite a bit of it out there though.
It seems, that you do not know about the tragedy of the release date… CoD ripped a lot of this game. Apex Legend is in the Titanfall universe. BT is an awesome character in this game. The new Netflix movie with J Lo

Don't know if anyone has told you or shown you this, but Playfight were the ones behind the trailer for Titanfall 2 (They did a short live action called Titanfall: Free the Frontier) which is why respawn went to them to make the trailer.
It's a pretty cool video and they have a breakdown (show not tell) of their Free the Frontier short which can give insight into how they did this stuff, if you wanted to look it up.

Titanfall 2 is one of the greatest tragedies in gaming history. It's an *amazing* game but Respawn got screwed by EA and we got Apex instead of Titanfall 3.
Words fail to describe how happy I am to see Titanfall 2 still getting recognition. This game was the underdog between Call Of Duty and Battlefield, and it was the only one to not disappoint in any way. Hyperbole? Maybe. But I'd doubt anyone who played it would argue with me. Seriously, if you care about Video Games in ANY capacity, play Titanfall 2's single player campaign before you die.

I still play titan fall 2 and am loving it. The campaign was fantastic and I think you’ll really like it. It also has a PvE mode where 4 players are teamed up against waves of enemies.
I also really enjoys the Titan fall 1 trailers, just a thought.
If the PvP isn't your style. There is a PvE option were you fight 5 faves of enemies. It's very fun and you get to experience the pilot and titan control without stress of constant movement.
You can play with 3 friends and annihilate the waves.
I think you'd very much enjoy the Campaign. It's a great story IMO with out of the box and interesting story telling elements. The big thing is to pay attention to the dialogue! It expands the story telling as usual but does it in a fantastic way, one particular level in mind does it greatly. Give it a shot, give your commentary, but listen to the game and add voice over when necessary that way you can enjoy the moments as they are presented.
they absolutely have the material to make a pretty epic film or series from this. BUT, you just know they will fuck it up with woke garbage and bad writing.
Play the campaign, you get slaughtered in the multiplayer. Some of the insane dudes have been grinding this movement system since titanfall 1, they can fly across the maps in seconds without touching the ground
titanfall 2 is one of my favorite campaign/story games of all time, up there mixed in with halo, definitely above halo 4 and 5 maybe my number 4 story after halo reach 3 and 2, 1 might be beaten by titanfall 2 for me but thats because i didnt grow up on halo 1 as much, but its tough to order them id say that halo 1 2 3 and reach and titanfall 2 are my top five games for the campaigns, not in order. you should definitely play the story

A shame they're way too prioritized at Apex Legends and shizz. But if you want to play Titanfall 2, the campaign is the best for me and it is really a good one.
Really hope you play this game it’s an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. I have replayed the entire campaign probably 50 times and I’m still having loads of fun.
The become one trailer honestly to me is the definition of titanfall. Bt (titans name) and jack are forced to work together and by the end of the campaign each one would literally give their life for the other because the game makes you feel like a real team. When you’re playing and you’re out of your Titan you feel agile and deadly but also a little bit exposed and weak. While then when you unite with your Titan you feel like there is nothing on the planet that can stop you. All the while respawns visuals and gunplay are down right incredible. Titanfall means a lot to me and I despise apex legends for taking all the attention away from this universe because respawn just hasn’t done anything at all with the ip. No new games no shows or movies and it’s just disappointing that they don’t give us anything more from this incredible ip. That become one trailer I have seen it so many times and it means a lot to me man.

You should certaintly play the campaign, its not too long and frankly its one of the best FPS SP campaigns to date. Plus the game is dirt cheap nowadays
Play the story. Multiplayer is plagued with some of the most fucked up online issues you could think of. There's a group systematically hitting off servers, hacking and even doxxing players.
I love the fact that you match the xbox controller colour to your microphone on different videos. Subtle change but aesthetically pleasing.
