sure, the absence of a singleplayer previously and sandwiched between two behemoth may contribute to its downfall but i remember the main reason is the showcasing of multiplayer being vague, the ability of player rentention being that it has a high skilling and there where so many wall jumping double boostin sci fic shooters at that time that people are so tire of
When I first played Effect and Cause, I saw the prompt that said "press M2 to time travel", and just laughed. I thought it was so stupid, like COD's "press F to pay respects". But then I actually played the level, and I felt ashamed for laughing at it. Genuinely the best FPS mission I've ever played. I should have gave the game the respect it deserved. Titanfall 2 is fucking awesome.
surprised you didn't mention Dishonored 2's "A Crack in the Slab" mission during the "Effect and Cause" segment. It's a neat connection how these two games that released within 2 weeks of each other both had a mission with the same time-hopping gimmick.
I remember getting this game for Christmas. I loved the first one so I was glued to the multiplayer for most of the time. I eventually played the story and I couldn't believe how good it was. BT is easily one of my favorite characters from any video game
I did love this game. It's just a lot of fun. You could do all sorts of things. You could wall run, you could stop bullets with your hand, but my personal favorite is how you could double press the a button to jump twice. Don't forget that Renn. It's very important.
I loved the og titanfall. I got to prestige 10 even though I had no other friends who played it, and I never got that high in any CoD game. I never did get titanfall 2 though because I figured none of my friends would get it so why bother. Sadly I was right and I’ve been waiting ever since for the titanfall 3 that would be as big as halo 3 was :(
Even in the mission where you can swap between past and present, theres some cool details like when you kill an enemy in the past, their bodies will still there in the future.

I just did a quick search for trailers and there were plenty and on known major channels. Although not all mention the platforms, some do, and it released for all of them at the same time. It failed because your average person likes shit and they preferred to play COD and BF.

I really kinda want them to go revive BT using his AI core, probably floating in space. Like imagine... Cooper's son is the protagonist and he learns about BT, cause someone on a spaceship found a AI core floating in space. They identified it as BT-7247, and try to repair it.
A sort of good news the guy who made effect and cause jason mccord has made a new studio wildlight entertainment along with a lot of former titanfall 2 devs and I hope whatever will they make will satisfy Titanfall fans
Aint no way i just had to hear BT say "mommy mode activated." I do not share your sentiment about another game in the series though. I would live another one, but I am that the same great minds that delivered us this gem of a game, just aren't around to deliver us the same experience anymore.
Ive purchased this game on PS4 and PC and have played 300+hrs on both versions and loved every second. The campaign is superb and the multiplayer is perfect. Respawn provided bots in the standard competitive modes for less skilled players to kill and get points from so they have an opportunity to use their titans and boosts. The high skill ceiling gameplay gives high skill players a lot of depth and quality gameplay to enjoy. If competitive modes arent to your liking, they provide a cooperative mode where 4 players can team up and kill varying enemy types and enemy difficulties for nearly equal rewards as pvp modes. Its a perfect game crafted for all skill levels and gameplay preferences.
The multiplayer is also excellent, been playing with a group of friends recently, a mix of people who've played for 100's of hours and people who just bought the game.
You didn't even mention the best aspect of Titanfall in my opinion: The enemy AI is actually really good and scary. I came into this game expecting a COD like shooter where you shoot a few ppl, then take cover to heal and repeat. I wasn't ready to be charged, overwhelmed and murdered immediately upon trying that strategy. If you're on low health, the enemies become aggressive af because they smell your blood. Finishing this game on the highest difficulty was a genuine achievement, mostly due to the aggressive AI.
TitanFall 2 is my...favorite singleplayer campaign in all of the games i have ever played. BT-7274's death was and has always made me tear up, because the bond they have, and in extension, WE have with him...seeing him disappear hurts like hell. The only thing we can hope for in that world, is that they make a BT-7275. Long live the king of Titans.
I will never understand how people get sad over robots that probably have their memory backed up every few hours, there is probably a hard drive with BT somewhere. It takes only BTs eye to store his memories, they have the technology to send a lot of data quickly, there must be backups or if there arent then they don't really care for titan personalities, it's not that important, they are just weapons. It is sad in something like Nier Automata where SPOILER after the bunker is destroyed you are left without backups and the characters now risk dying for real and they actually do.
@Narko_Marko They MIGHT have a backup of his memory drive, but...what if they dont? What if those backups were stolen or destroyed or never made in the first place? Just because they are technologically advanced, doesn't mean they have backups of everything...though it is likely, its not proven. Also, we get sad over robots dying because they died, and since its fiction and we dont know EVERYTHING about that fictional universe, we are afraid of the possibility of that robot we love so much not returning. Kinda like Cayde-6 from Destiny, the only good character in the games.
@@YukitheDummyI mean BT did create a backup of himself in Coopers helmet in effect and cause in order to be able to still communicate with Cooper in the other timeline. That backup is probably what created the morse code message in the post credit scene. If they really wanted to they could probably recreate him using that but titans are just weapons, they are created for that purpose and their personality is there only to be better weapons. It's easier and more preferable to get another titan, pilots are much more expensive than titans I assume even with a simulacrum body since in the multiplayer they send several titans for one simulacrum pilot.
I just started playing TF2 again and my god it’s embarrassing how this game makes current games look 🤦♂️ it makes me so sad what EA did to this franchise and in return we get, Apex Legends 🤨😐
I don't know the quality of the products, but just by the mere fact that one is an actual physical product it's already infinitely more valuable than a videogame. So, yeah, sugar cakes, take a couple seconds more to formulate an answer, that's one of the benefits of the internet, that you're not on the spot with people waiting for you to reply. You can avoid looking stupid here, it's fine.
In the top 10 games of all time in my opinion. Love first person shooters? It's right up there with the best CoD has to offer. Love a good mech game? One of the all-time best there too. Love an engrossing single player story that will completely draw you in? Check again, this is one of the very best ever. I still play multiplayer with my friends on this to this very day, years and years after its release. It breaks my heart that there won't be a 3, but the truth is, I don't know if it could live up to this.
Given the success of Apex: Legends, we'll definitely get another game in the Titanfall universe. It probably won't be called "Titanfall 3" because at this point "Apex" has more brand recognition, but that's a good thing because if it sucks, the legacy of Titanfall 2 will be preserved.

To this day there isn't a Titanfall 1 port on Sony consoles...
sure, the absence of a singleplayer previously and sandwiched between two behemoth may contribute to its downfall but i remember the main reason is the showcasing of multiplayer being vague, the ability of player rentention being that it has a high skilling and there where so many wall jumping double boostin sci fic shooters at that time that people are so tire of
Insane timing for this video release, the finals for this year's speedrun competition is happening right now on Twitch
Oh? Good to know this game stays alive one way or another.
Dishonored 2 has a mission very similar to this which also works really well. But it's generally focussed on being more stealth based
surprised you didn't mention Dishonored 2's "A Crack in the Slab" mission during the "Effect and Cause" segment. It's a neat connection how these two games that released within 2 weeks of each other both had a mission with the same time-hopping gimmick.
17:30 that's enough I'll buy it.
I love watching pilots get better as they play, like all the gears are turning and things are sparking in the brain new ideas and such
I remember getting this game for Christmas. I loved the first one so I was glued to the multiplayer for most of the time. I eventually played the story and I couldn't believe how good it was. BT is easily one of my favorite characters from any video game
No sex workers were consulted in the making of this review.

I did love this game. It's just a lot of fun. You could do all sorts of things. You could wall run, you could stop bullets with your hand, but my personal favorite is how you could double press the a button to jump twice. Don't forget that Renn. It's very important.
BT isn't a mommy he's a daddy
I loved the og titanfall. I got to prestige 10 even though I had no other friends who played it, and I never got that high in any CoD game. I never did get titanfall 2 though because I figured none of my friends would get it so why bother.
Sadly I was right and I’ve been waiting ever since for the titanfall 3 that would be as big as halo 3 was :(
This game was my life in high school. Started playing again recently. I’m glad that ps4 has a decent number of active players still.
Even in the mission where you can swap between past and present, theres some cool details like when you kill an enemy in the past, their bodies will still there in the future.
YES I LITRALLY JUST WENT BACK AND OH MY GOD AMAZING MOVEMENTS, YOU GET OPTIMUS PRIME AS YOUR BUDDY. THE STORY IS GOOOD YOU GET THIS WATCH THAT ALTERS REALITY, JUST WOOOOOOOOW.
One thing I think a lot of people overlook is that the first game was xbox/pc exclusive (even I didn't know until I just looked it up, that the game was on PC too), and I swear they put 0 effort into getting word out that the second one would release on all platforms
I just did a quick search for trailers and there were plenty and on known major channels. Although not all mention the platforms, some do, and it released for all of them at the same time. It failed because your average person likes shit and they preferred to play COD and BF.
It still saddens me to this day when I think about what happened to this masterpiece of a game...
"The Salvo Core ability..."
Immediately shows Burst Core
Hey Renn. I've been watching your content cosistently for about 5 years now (since the "a way out" video). I haven't really left a comment before, but I just wanted to say that this was a great watch, probably my favorite since I'm already a big titanfall 2 fan. Keep up the great and funny videos. :)
“…and even some excess jewelry.” Renn, you’re always my favorite.
Why I think Titanfall is a very good game:
-the levels are diverse to keep me engaged
- the relationship with BT is nicely done
- gun play is satisfying
- game is simply fun to play
“Permission to retain this link” while shuffling you inside of him like a kid and his toy he’s not supposed to have. I’m going to cry over a robot AGAIN
Titanfalls world is so good i wish we got more serious stories from it snd not the goofy ah apex stories from the outlands. Something like JinRoh in the titanfall universe is my dream.
My favorite channel making a video on my favorite shooter. its a good easter
Deepen that strange for me Renn!
Just started this game, was ying it a long time but your video finally made me download it :) I didnt watch the video fully to spoiler myself too much.
People say its a short game but I already fell i the trap of beating my best time the the toutorial parcour, its a trap! Maybe tomorrow I start the campaign :)
normally I would watch a renns review banger thru right away but seeing as tho i'm doing my own playthrough of titanfall... yeah we finna have to wait on that one g
and I am back frfr
I am so glad I watched this video w/ headphones

I really kinda want them to go revive BT using his AI core, probably floating in space. Like imagine... Cooper's son is the protagonist and he learns about BT, cause someone on a spaceship found a AI core floating in space. They identified it as BT-7247, and try to repair it.
When I was playing this at 13, I was figuring out how to translate the titan executions to real life
I miss BT. Best mech boi
I got the pilot symbol tattooed on my chest. Yeah, I think it's pretty good, too.
I feel like BT needed to die at the end of the campaign. It was a great/sad ending to an awesome game
I genuinely think Effect and Cause is one of the most impressive, well designed levels in an FPS I’ve ever played
A sort of good news the guy who made effect and cause jason mccord has made a new studio wildlight entertainment along with a lot of former titanfall 2 devs and I hope whatever will they make will satisfy Titanfall fans
Not even a minute in bros losing me
Aint no way i just had to hear BT say "mommy mode activated." I do not share your sentiment about another game in the series though. I would live another one, but I am that the same great minds that delivered us this gem of a game, just aren't around to deliver us the same experience anymore.
That platform segment was really good
the fact you took the timeout to include the ai voices at the end.. made me like and sub :D
Imagine this game in vr 🤯
EA would rather have a live service game ( like apex legends ) rather than putting a buncha of money and work into a Titanfall 3
Because they cant put as money 60 dollar skins in a one off game like titanfall but a live service game like apex is their way to go
Great video. -10 points for calling BT mommy tho😂
One of the best game ever made. That campaign is amazing. The multiplayer was so good. I replay it every year. Shame they wont be a Titanfall 3 ...
4 MILLION copies not enough to make the money back wtf
The multiplayer is also excellent, been playing with a group of friends recently, a mix of people who've played for 100's of hours and people who just bought the game.
Explain how BT wants to keep jack had me eye teary
You didn't even mention the best aspect of Titanfall in my opinion: The enemy AI is actually really good and scary. I came into this game expecting a COD like shooter where you shoot a few ppl, then take cover to heal and repeat. I wasn't ready to be charged, overwhelmed and murdered immediately upon trying that strategy. If you're on low health, the enemies become aggressive af because they smell your blood. Finishing this game on the highest difficulty was a genuine achievement, mostly due to the aggressive AI.
He didn't even mention the multiplayer... its so good I play it every day
TitanFall 2 is my...favorite singleplayer campaign in all of the games i have ever played.
@Narko_Marko Completely correct...still, until BT-7274 is back, or BT-7275 is made, im gonna be sad
What killed it for me was that they removed the overshield from titans plus adding "hero" style titans.... big mistake
Titan Fall 2 is easily my favorite shooter. I'm so sad game wasn't bigger.
I just started playing TF2 again and my god it’s embarrassing how this game makes current games look 🤦♂️ it makes me so sad what EA did to this franchise and in return we get, Apex Legends 🤨😐
Renn:
"Raid Shadow Legends?
I'm not taking a sponsorship from that GARBAGE"
Also Renn:
"GLORY TO MANSCAPED BALL SHAVERS oWo CHUNGUS 100"
I don't know the quality of the products, but just by the mere fact that one is an actual physical product it's already infinitely more valuable than a videogame. So, yeah, sugar cakes, take a couple seconds more to formulate an answer, that's one of the benefits of the internet, that you're not on the spot with people waiting for you to reply. You can avoid looking stupid here, it's fine.
@@LyaksandraB bruh
are you dumb?
Even just videos of getting thrown by BT still make my b-hole clench. Such a well designed game
Recently finished this wonderful game. Had a blast with it, too bad there is no news regarding its sequel.
"It felt good to be inside BT" 😩
you should add a pastebin for every song used in your vids, the track that starts at "pairing in progress" sounds like a bop
Conclusion; I'm 50% in love!
i pilot is often outnumbered but never outmatched
well, we can say that Apex Legends is our Titanfall 3
No
@@Operation-NightStrike Wdym no, it has like all of the weapons titanfall 2 had, and its the closet thing we will ever have to titanfall 3
I thought this was uploaded 4 years ago with already millions of views
damn im gonna have to replay this game to hear all those easter egg voice lines now!
I'm so happy you played a good game. What a refresher
