- Downtown Lynchburg Virginia VLOG for YOU! Living in Lynchburg Virginia takes a quick tour - 20 minutes or so - and even gives some hyperlapse video of a 3 mile walk I took as we talk about the Downtown Lynchburg VA area.
We touch on the James River, the Blackwater Creek Trail, Percivals Island, Riverfront Park, condos, apartments, and hotels, and the Bluffwalk.
Downtown Lynchburg is one of my favorite spots to go. Great eateries, coffee, desserts, and walking / running / riding trails. It's so close to Randolph College, the University of Lynchburg, and even Liberty University. If you live in the Lynchburg VA area...you're no more than 25 minutes away!
If you want to explore some living options downtown...or anywhere in the Lynchburg Virginia area really (Appomattox...Bedford...Rustburg...et.), it's never to early to connect!

Great video! I've lived downtown for nine years and definitely love all the revitalization of the neighborhood. I actually live in those condos behind the Glass House at 4:16! Interesting fact, according to the 2020 Census release a couple weeks ago, the Census Tract surrounding downtown grew by 126% in population from 2010 - 2020 so it's definitely growing fast. In September DLA will be installing a new art alley on the Bluffwalk and 11th Street between Commerce and the Bluffwalk which will be fantastic. I'd recommend checking out Greenhaus next to Crisp when they open. Went to their private soft opening last night and it's great! Amazing German food and self pour beer system with 21 taps. Always saw the potential and thrilled to see it all coming together. Really impressive walk there at the end!! 👌
Thanks for all the insights! It is exciting to see new things coming…and solid places staying. The art alley sounds great. Hopefully that revitalization can continue to spread.

I’m visiting my grandparents in Madison heights, I know we’ll be going into Lynchburg and stuff but is there anything I should know about Madison heights?
Madison Heights has nice areas…and areas that are less nice. Just like most places. 😉 It’s always good to stay aware wherever you are.

9:38 most locals from around here (born here) pronounce it the second way. At least that's my experience and the locals that moved here tend to pronounce it the first way. However the two pronunciation are so close I don't think most people really care.

Is the state of Virginia mandate a mask and vaxx? Just asking

What I'm seeing in practice is a lot businesses are hanging signs "Masked if not fully vaccinated", or something like that.
The vaccine isn't mandated for Virginia residents. But some employers are giving employees limited options or ultimatums if they don't get vaccinated. It's an ever changing thing...so make GOOGLE your friend. 😉

Is it fair to assume that a vegan would not do well in Lynchburg?
Millie’s Living Cafe and most of the store’s now carry vegan friendly stuff. It took a few years but it’s pretty caught up now.
