Her career had a shelf life, she got too comfortable and caught up in the lifestyle and didn’t make an exit plan.
Exactly!
Yup, there are always younger and tighter versions of these women popping up to replace them.
Typical stripper.
Yup, exactly.
💯
Dave was kindly saying, God has a bigger plans for your life than dancing.
It's not slender. If she's a ballerina, that's way too heavy.
Exactly
Wonderful summary of his response!
@Ray (cry me a river)
@No name ok Dance Teachers I hear get paid pretty well at good dancing schools/studios. So if she ever wanted to teach she could do that for a while too.
She was let go because of her age... not her weight.
You're probably right about that.
Exactly
Bingo! She doesn't want to face it yet but as a dancer 33 is retirement age. Mostly because every year there are new younger dancers looking to dance for a living.
The Coffee Chat wrong! She got let go because the patrons needed fresh meat.
Thunder Cat I agree the patrons all want fresh young meat
She even hesitated when he asked how old she was.
Because she is used to lying about her age at her job when guys ask her. So she paused to decide that she should tell the real age to Dave.
@@thecatnextdoor12 Perhaps.
@@thecatnextdoor12 Yup.
Her whole life is a lie.
She’s only 33 and this distraught? She sounds a lot older than 33 tho...
Word. I thought she was in her 50s 60s sounding that stressed.
Right. Acting like her life is over
Lol I'm 31 and feeling old now
She really struggled with saying her age out loud, too. This “career” is shortlived.
Haha pole grease, multi-purpose
Whew.. she's all over the place. I got anxiety just listening to this
Are u a stripper too? Lol
Lol right marlyn she made me start panicking with her! 😬
@@edwardbarraza4848 rude
i need a xanax
Lol I don’t know what to tell her
How is she going to open a business when she doesn't even do her own taxes, or even know her income?
Her "entrepreneurial spirit" will help her along, LOL. Sounds like she just rolled in that easy money dancing provided without a care to where she would end up.
Many entrepreneurs pay bookkeepers and accountants to do that work for them.
I got fired once too. No reason given. Never told me why. Called me 1 week later to hire me back. Fuckckkkkk em! had a job that paid over 2x as much. Best thing ever. But still never understood why. I think they never realized how fast I worked and good I was until they saw stuff not getting done anymore. Enjoy those water cooler talkers!
She didn’t even explain why she has two houses
reminds me of the big short scene where the stripper has like three houses
Because she can't afford to renovate the one she owns and wants to live in a comfortable environment.
There’s no way someone owns two houses and has no idea what they make a year. Impossible mental gymnastics. There’s a lot more to this story that we’re not privy to and I’m betting Dave didn’t want to dive in to for a variety of reasons.
@@SyrPipeOrg she's a stripper, income isn't set
@@jakeh5135 Thank you Mr. Obvious :-) Please reread my statement above. First, I didn't say her income is set. If something I said above misled you to think that's what I meant, I'll be clearer next time. Second, I make a different amount of money each year as well, and I can easily tell someone what I made in each of the past several years. This information is important to many aspects of one's life, most especially, obtaining a mortgage. I can say with confidence that there are countless individuals who do not have a set income who can tell you their gross/net income each year over the past several years. This is basic adulting. :-)
1) She is a dancer 2) In New Orleans 3) She doesn't know how much money she made 4) It's questionable if she is the type of dancer that pays taxes. I would say that losing her job is the best thing that happened to her. She is 33 and I doubt she was a ballerina. She will be fine.
I don't know if she'll be fine, she has no practical skills from her prior employment
Hotobu we don’t know that. I’m hopeful that she will get it together.
Stripper?
Yup.
I love how non judgmental he is with nearly everyone who calls in! Love it!
Wiliam Forsythe He Actually said “non judgmental “...soooooo
Huh,,,
Wiliam Forsythe You must not know anything about Dave’s wife. She wouldn’t let that happen once. 😄
This lady is a hot mess.
Let’s just wish her the best!
Well, I'm guessing she's not as hot as she used to be. Otherwise she'd still be stripping.
She doesn’t need this comment.
More reg flags than a Chinese parade
I felt anxious listening to her
...when you conveniently leave out parts that don't suit your argument...
Dave is very on point here. It sucks that she lost her job, but right now her biggest problem seems to be that she's kind of a mess with no clear direction. Time to get out the old pen and paper and develop a plan.
You’re in a profession with an age cap of 30 with nontransferable skills. No need to pass judgement; professional athletes have the same issue.
Many go bankrupt because they were living day to day and not planning for the other side of their career.
Dave’s right; this is her opportunity for the next stage of her life.
Next STAGE... I see what you did there!
Zoraster There's always coaching and teaching. In sports you can be an advisor or even a commentator. It's not all doom and gloom when you reach a certain age.
Excellent non-judgmental comment.
You are so right on!
She should have had a plan 'B' that she could just roll on to . When you have a career with a shelf life you got to make plans for the time you have left.
Can this lady answer a single question?
No
She DID say the policy cash-out would be worth $2,500 then she said $7,500 and tried to make Dave think he had made the mistake
She doesn’t know what her income was!! That pretty much says it all. 😉
I reckon that not many strippers keep a daily log of how much they're making throughout the year.
LOVE Dave - and that is why he is Dave and everyone else is just a line in the comment section
steel united111 ignorance is no excuse; it’s referred to as a 1040. This isn’t rocket science. 😉
Wrong! Most of the people who get paid "in cash" will sooner or later be caught by the I.R.S. and have to pay those taxes and penalties that they thought they could avoid.
I've met a few dancers. They don't pay taxes and they spend their money as fast as they make it. If they have enough to get them through the week, they don't go to work until they need to make some money to pay a bill. I knew one dancer who took taxis everywhere she went, and out to eat a lot. It's not the personality or lifestyle for wise personal finance. No judgement, it's just how they roll.
Stripper & hustlers need Dave's advice too. Thanks Dave for everything 🔥🔥
Dave is a equal opportunity financial guru... Drug dealers calling in tomorrow about investing.
Man. This poor lady is all over the place. Hope she gets some help.
I was expecting this to be Dave’s take on my 600# life...
cincinnatislider no way Dr. Now would let anyone live off rice and beans.
Andrew Nigro hahaha! No doubt.
In the dance world, getting older means downgrading clubs. Your choices for work will get worse and worse as you age until you age out completely. Listen to Dave and just make plans to find a different line of work. No, the money won't be as easy to make, but your dancing glory days are over.
She just wants to complain about her problems but she doesn't want to answer any of Dave's questions or listen to his advice.
She's scared, nervous and lacking confidence--we've all been there. She sounds bright and energetic and will be fine.
@Dakota Matos most people..aka normal are clueless about this basic knowledge. Normal is broke.
If someone asks you a question you give them the answer without judgement. Well done Dave!
"I'm single with no kids..."
Why do you need a life insurance policy?
I mean, I'm single with no kids, and I have a 400k life insurance policy through the military. If I die, it goes to my parents.
@@Nickkkk838 - Admittedly, if you don't sign up for SGLI you pretty much get singled out by the 1SG during every SRP session. LOL. They pretty much harass into getting it.
Btw, you also have 100k in death gratuity from the gov't that is in addition to that 400k. So you're actually at a cool half million.
@@Nickkkk838 , well if someone else is paying for it, fine, but if you have no one depending on your income, then paying for life insurance yourself is pointless.
So, if she was to prematurely pass, her family’s be friends will not have to start a go fund me account.
Does a single person with no children need a life insurance policy?
Dave is a truly kind man. Let’s most callers keep their dignity, even when they are being evasive or ridiculous AF! Every now and then, he’ll be savage with folks, but doesn’t happen a lot.
Dave is gracious with her, good job!
Her: “I’m not able to work”
Dave: “Why?”
Her: “Mental”
Me: “I don’t disagree”
@Dakota Matos
That’s the joke.
"Unjust" in this case just means "I don't like it". She's a stripper that didn't live up to the standards of her employer and got fired like anyone else at any other job.
This is really inspiring. Dave's very good at encouraging people.
She sounds in distress... made me all stressed out... 🥴
what I want to know is, how does she not know how much she was making a year previously? That’s the root problem of her literally.. NOT watching her cash flow.
Amanda hard to count all those dollar bills when you’re a stripper
Amanda If she's paid in cash, she might not be reporting all of her earnings to the IRS...So she may be reluctant to reveal the true amount in public (on YT).
"You get a fresh start" That's a great way to look at it, nice answer Dave!
Overweight at 128 pounds wow 😮 I was expecting her to be like 250.
Well, depending on her height which she didn't specify, for her specific profession, 128lbs could be considered overweight.
Ryan De Witt she said she’s 5’4
Ryan De Witt She said 5’4, which gives her a BMI of 22, totally normal!! And not overweight!!
@@LindseyDara I would agree although I think the BMI scale is flawed. However for a stripper, they may have wanted someone even thinner. They could have also just used it as an excuse to fire her for another reason. Who knows the back story or how much of what she is telling is the truth.
Right?!?
" I don't know how much I make a year. I just pay what they tell me". She really needs someone to guide her.
Sometimes they won't say why you're fired because they're afraid of lawsuits. Better to give no reason.
Dave quickly read between all the lines in this call, and spoke to this caller in a respectful, dignified, yet very direct manner 👏
Wow 😲 I would have never thought that 128 lbs at 5’4” is considered overweight! It’s got to be her age...
For a stripper it probably is, but more or less you're right - its primarily the age.
@@garysanders6091 If shes really 33 then no, its not the age unless she looks bad. I know strippers that are in their 40s and work at nice clubs. Its all about how you taake care of yourself
I began to feel scattered and lost just listening to her🥺
This lady needs a therapist...
almost every stripper I've met did
Big time
Dave nicely trying to give her practical advise rather than embarrass her for losing her stripping job which sounds like it came with some type of "housing arrangement"
Stripper = probably has a lot more problems than being a couple pounds overweight.
If she's a little thick, a lot of guys like that. There was probably something else going on.
Well, I did not hear the word "stripper". Are people too embarrassed to say the word straight up?
She was deemed overweight at 128lbs. That's unusual for exotic dancers and even cheerleaders. She's probably a ballerina.
In New Orleans there are other types of dancers besides strippers.
@@duchesseebene1273 she prob would have specified that she was a ballerina if she was one. The only dancers that I see who just call themselves "dancers" are strippers.
She was so argumentative for someone who's in a mess and is being told she's in a mess but can get out of it.
This is why I am such a big fan of the Dave because he Makes you dig deeper and take away all of your excuses...
She's been getting by on her looks, thinking isn't her strong point.
5’4”, 128 lbs sounds freaking awesome for a 33 year old 👏 👏
Did Dave just get a call from a stripper? 🤔
What's wrong with that?
@@Interestingworld4567 What's wrong is she didn't say "I'm a stripper". She said "dancer".
jean lenor she left out the “pole” part
Possibly... but she could also be a ballet dancer (companies are very strict with weight) or a dancer that keeps their clothes on such as in off-broadway plays or other entertainment venues. There are plenty of legit ways dancers earn a living.
Cruz PT they’re people too and God wants to save them
Great job, Dave! Sometimes we just need a counselor to help get us pointed in the right direction.
its exhausting listening to her
I feel bad for her. She seems so lost. God bless her soul.
She’s soooo FREAKING LOST!
So, she's a stripper... Those and emotional issues and bad decisions often go hand in hand. Not judging, but I have found that to be the case. She needs to stop stripping, see a counselor to get her emotional issues in check, and then start tackling this debt. She still has the potential to be successful.
>not judging
No we need to start judging. If people didn't go "oh you're an exotic dancer, that's nice..." and instead treat it with the stigma it deserves, fewer women would ruin their lives with that kind of lifestyle.
Sounds like you hang out with strippers a lot. That and emotional issues and bad decisions often go hand in hand. Not judging, but I have found that to be the case. You still have the potential to be successful.
@@ienjoyapples why does it deserve a stigma it's a profession that makes a lot of money. It does have a age cap to when that money starts slowing way down but they make a lot before that. Plus the emotional issues and ease of abuse stems from people like you making it a stigma in the first place.
where did she say she is stripper? what is wrong with you people? so disgusting
No...there are plenty of thick strippers getting paid . She's probably a classical dancer.
Didn’t claim those $1 bills as income did ya
If you've watched the movie "The big short" you will see in the broker/stripper part a lot of what is in the call here. "Nobody on the pole has good credit, and they're all cash rich."
Great advice uncle Dave. Nailed it🙋
Prayers for you me dear.
You can get through this.
You need to redirect your life and start focus on doing the right things to build a better future for yourself.
Agreed with you Mr. Ramsey, this is a new start for her.
Hesitation at 33.
Within 10 seconds of her starting to talk I’m annoyed with her personality
This may sound a bit brutal but she does need to get over it and find a different skillset which I'm hoping she was doing.
Tennant/landlord work arrangement for a dancer = stripper
Love the new set. Feels more spacious rather than claustrophobic!
Good job Dave--you are so kind!
I had one of those really cool whole life policy’s. I paid it for 15 years. It was a $500,000 policy. I cashed it in after 15 years and I got a really cool check for $2,800. Not bad for paying $150 a month for 15 years...that’s sarcasm btw.
david lindsey Jesus Christ
I declare the taxes I'm being told to declare. What!?!?? She's lost in life...
She stripped, so the owner did their taxes for them
@@LiGhTfOoT_ well yes, but majority of her income would be cashies not declared
That's exactly what I thought.
Love the new setting 👍
Not a fan of this new studio's filming style. It feels so inpersonal and cable-like. Miss sitting right at the desk with Mr Ramsey in his office, not this big box studio
Yeah, and the lighting is too bright.
@@fnordiumendures138I don't think I've ever watched one of these videos, I put it on and go do other things and listen. Sometimes I'll glance at the comments. So I didn't know there was ever a change.
Agree with this 100%. it has affected my enjoyment of these videos.
Agree
Get over it you whiny children. 😂
I feel bad for this lady, she is a mess at 33 years old. Doesn't even know how much she makes?
"So, the nature of your emotional struggles are you were fired, and in your mind unjustly fired, obviously?"
"Um yes, yes, and yes, I think anyone would agree...."
No. If your job is to entertain people and be pleasing to the eye, and your boss doesn't think you can do it.... guess what? You were fired justly. It's a foolish career path to think that you can keep up indefinitely with someone else's subjective opinion of you.
This caller was smart enough to call Dave! Wish you the best you are going to make it!! Gina in Lights
It sounded harsh, but I'm sure she needed to hear it. Changes can be a blessing in disguise and that's what happened to me when I got laid off.
Complacency is bad but once she figures out a plan, I'm sure she'll do much better than her current "dancing" job
Honestly this is why you don't become a stripper. Someone younger and more beautiful will come along, but more importantly she has 0 marketable skills. Not sure where she would even start tbh, but she isnt going to be making much.
Love the new studio
And the wall remains undefeated
5 foot 4 inches tall and weighs 128 pounds...Um...that's NOT overweight...That's a good shape and reasonable bmi for most people, but I guess the stripper club she used to work for requires her love handles be flawless??? (scratches chin)
Love that Dave nicely told her she's not going to be a stripper at 53. Also not sure at all how you can work & file taxes & not know your income.
lol most strippers do not file taxes, they make all cash and rarely report it to the IRS
She was not fired for being overweight. She was fired for being too old and they needed to make room for younger women. Her mistake was she thought it would last forever and she blew all the money she was making
DR: You're problem is you don't have a plan right now......am I wrong?
Caller: Well um um I...I
DR: AM I WRONG??
me:😯😐😶
'Fine..yes' 😒
your problem is that you didn't learn English in high school....
Strippers pay bills and have financial problems too. Wonder if people judge the folks that pay strippers half as much.
Hey, I like to help as many aspects of the economy as I can.
I just wanted to say that I appreciate your wisdom, I’m almost paid off all my bills by just watching your videos and now will be closing out my credit cards because realistically I don’t need them to build my credit and what you teach really open my mind.
Hang in there girl!
Come to Gardner Massachusetts where all the woman weigh 200 pounds plus! It's bad lol 😂
Bridgeport, CT
Can't wait to hear this one
She doesn't know what she makes.... She is lost.
Look at Dave pushing this boutique book. back to back videos!
Yeah, I bet christy Wright has never been a stripper!
Hearing her was so frustrating and I can understand why she is in the situation she is in.
Do not lack confidence! Move on to better things!
Liked the old setup better, but I don’t have to work there
Dave Ramsey - Debating insurance agent - A reason whole life policies are terrible is people cash them out
Also Dave Ramsey - Cash out your whole life policy
“I was a dancer in New Orleans”
Bruh she was a stripper
I’m glad Dave was a lot more gracious to her than the people in the comments. I hope he’s able to help her change her life.
Agreed 👍
BROWN RICE AND BLACK BEANS,
BLACK BEANS AND BROWN RICE! 😂
OMG... This caller gave me a headache 😒
She just wants to complain about her problems but she doesn't want to get the Ramsey's advice
I'll just come out and ask it... what kind of dancer?
Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answer?
It does seem strange that she doesn't know what she made. I would think a professional ballerina or back up dancer would at least know the wage per show or gig.
If she is an "exotic" dancer that might explain her lack of involvement in her finances (shows may not pay well but tips may be significant). Perhaps the club takes care of her taxes. If she was an exotic dancer that got fired for her weight, she is likely dealing with a crisis of moving from relying on her looks to relying on her brain and ethic. I hope she gets help since years of making money off your body must pay an emotional toll.
Break dancer. What else do you think?
Eureka Hope there’s a lot of cash I’m sure she doesn’t declare on her taxes
The kind that doesn't know what her income is because people just throw dollar bills at her.
This is sad 😥 but when one door closes a few more open.
I'm not a woman but 128 lbs at 5'4" doesn't sound overweight to me, even if she is a dancer. And the more she dances, she will most likely shed more pounds, granted she eats reasonably healthy enough.
Strong and independent.
Stunning and brave.
🤦♂️
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep... "sounds like a good ol' dose of rejection". She'll bounce back.
Entrepreneur.... nice one Dave!
I love the shady little clip art they put on the thumbnails lol
I wish her the best! Some employers treat people wrong!
Dave didn't listen very well.
"Am I wrong??" You've gotta leave room for the person to articulate their thoughts.
