    Bought my first electric in 85. 66 fender Jag that has been repainted black and had a strap button moved to play leftie, missing trem arm and collet.
    I was walking in to a guitar store, and a guy I knew was walking out. He was trying to sell it, and he told me they'd offered him $125 or something for it. I offered him $150.
    I changed a lot of things but kept the electronics original. Love that thing.

    cheers guys...that was really pleasant to watch and listen to you....i can actually feel the friendship that connects you....great.....AND as far the "vintage" guitars go...well...i had a Fender Strat (like the one you are holding Jeff...same colours) and a Gibson LP Custom black/gold back in the day when there was no "vintage" market....because thats all there was....!!..but now they're gone...and so be it...i'm happy (enough) with my new stuff from Fender Mexico and prs Korea or indonesia.....cheers and thx.

    Thanks Jeff! Grewt video. Loving that new strat Matt. How does it compare sonically to the ‘61?

    Hey Jeff, care sharing a reference for original pots/parts? My ‘59 slab board had a pot die and I had to get a repro to get it running again but would love to find an original from someone reputable.

    Using the info above here’s a heads up: There’s a burst 57 Strat, refin neck and body with a new headstock sticker but everything else is original, for $16k at CME. Can’t understand that price.

    • @stratman9449
      @stratman9449 2 месяца назад

      16k is still alot for a guitar...at any time....

    • @WickBeavers
      @WickBeavers 2 месяца назад

      @@stratman9449 very very little for a ‘57 Strat. Masterbuilts are running up to 10k now.

      refin neck and body with a new headstock sticker but "everything else is original". May as well look around Reverb for a 57 reissue for around $2,000. $14,000 savings and still a great guitar.

      @@charlies3287 dude, I think I’m correct in saying an over sprayed original ‘63 Strat is worth a whole lot more than a Masterbuilt. Ponder this, too- a Masterbuilt is made to order. If it wasn’t built for you THAT seems a waste of BIG money.

    I think that in the USA you have a greater access to the vintage market by sheer volume where as here in the U.K. it’s a smaller more select and expensive affair.
