I have had trouble with the screw on the v1 plate (the part that attaches to the bottom of your camera) coming unscrewed. Before every use, I had to tighten the screw. I bought some Loctite for it, but I haven't used it yet. Instead, I switched the v1 plate for the v2 plate, and the v2 plate has yet to come unscrewed. After many, many uses, the v2 plate stays tight. So I vote for the v2 plate.
It's called the "Falcam F38 Multi-Hole Quick Release" and not the "F38 Pro". Bad naming on Ulanzi's part, sure, but I think calling it the "Pro" when there is no mention of "Pro" in any listing on any website can be confusing for people.
Thanks for the comparison. I went with the multihole F38 pro. It's only $4 more. That's practically nothing. Oh and I use your affiliate link so to make sure you at least get a little credit thanks for the video
The original would always come loose and practically drop the camera from the gimbal. Very scary. Just ordered the V2. I think the hex screw will be more stable on the this version. At least, I hope it is
I just bought all the "pro" or "v2" versions of the falcom f38 and I am about to get the the Ulanzi Zero F38 Quick Release Tripod which uses the v1 version on the tripod. Could you tell me if the v1 base is compatibile with the v2 plate, which is attached to the camera? I appreciate your work. Thank you for the comparison between both versions.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
V2 has an anti loosen washer on the screw, very much like the pgy plate has

Probably why I couldn’t find a comparison between the two 😂
Thanks for this! I like the pro version over the non-pro version so thanks for reviewing this!
Thanks for watching bro!
The screws on the side are what hold the locking pin spring in place.

Thanks so much brother!
Thanks for this, I couldn't find anything on it either.
Glad I could help
Very informative, thanks.
Would any of these be compatible with the peak design capture piece?
I have arthritis. I think you can guess which type I am going with. You got some link sales.

The "F38 Pro" is a Quick Release Inverted Ball Head, this product is not a "Pro" anything, it's just a slightly updated version.

Thanks for this video. Do you think I can insert an f22 plate on a f38 base?
Wish they came out with a double screw version
