Well that's about the last good game I have left for the GameCube library lol. Playing this all over again was a real treat. I managed to beat my previous run by only thirty minutes, which isn't a whole lot and goes to show how good the previous video was (it was one of my proudest works honestly). Besides beating the previous run by thirty minutes, the quality on this video is also a lot better. I know a lot of people think Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda title, but I personally think Wind Waker beats it. This game does not get nearly enough credit as it should. I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference but some arguments that I could make are: more actual combat, less songs to memorize and less "useless" items. With the last one I mean that pretty much every item in Wind Waker serves a purpose even outside of the dungeon it's found in. You can't really say that for Ocarina of Time (are the Ice Arrows even ever used?). With all that being said, I don't mean to bash on OoT. It's a fantastic game in it's own regard especially for the time it was released in, but it really seems to overshadow Wind Waker. Lastly, regarding the recording itself: This video features the entire main game. I didn't bother with heart pieces or figurines or any side quests. Literally the only side quest that I did was the one that was required for the Cabana member card. Speaking of that, the Cabana member card requires you to collect 20 Joy Pendants. I only had 16 so I went to Dragon Roost Cavern to farm some more by using a grappling hook on those goblins. This footage was cut out. The other footage I cut out was when I had to grind enough rupees to decipher all of the Triforce charts. The easiest way to grind rupees seems to be revisiting the location of Triforce Chart #7. You can get about 200 rupees there in less than a minute and then reload the area to do it again. Apparently the grinding part was a big complaint for Wind Waker and they've made some adjustments to it in the HD re-release. For example, some of the Triforce Chart locations have simply been replaced with Triforce Shard locations. That way, you don't have to pay 398 rupees to decipher the chart but you just get the shard straight away.
This game hits on the feels in a very special way, the nostalgia is unreal, and the whole thing is a freaking masterpiece, the art, design, music (I can't emphasise the music enough) and the game itself of course.
It's been more than a decade since I played this on my GameCube....but I still remember the memories playing this as a 8 year old when this came out...I remember being stuck forever on the earth temple! Watching this relived my childhood....man what an amazing game and time it was back then...thanks again LPA...I'll be watching more of your GameCube LPs
wind waker is the best zelda game of them all to me. So much emotion and meaning hidden in it. At the beginning of the game, all of links friends on outset island are happy and walking around but when you visit again sort of halfway through, they are all inside their houses because they're frightened. Little things like this make the game so special
It was already up for 5 years ;) make sure to check out our playlists (they're alphabetically ordered) or just use the search function to find anything else we might already have up.
everything about this game is amazing! can never forget the title screen music when we booted the game up for the first time! 🥰 do you think a longplay of Spirit Tracks would be possible in the future? 👀
I still own this game. I remember when it first came out, I was very confused with the graphics and story, after experiencing OOT and MM on N64. But, looking back, Wind Waker is a great, unique Zelda game. The strong perfer and enjoyed Second Quest, as Toon Link stays in his original clothes the whole way and Hylain language translated. Try this game with an Action Replay, I dare you. Lol
I think the graphics are fine even now. The animation, character designs, the hero's journey and adventure themes were very appealing to me when I was a young child. I think Nintendo was trying to appeal to children at the time of making this game. I see nothing wrong with that approach. The industry needs more family and age appropriate games for kids. Not every game needs to be a "gore - fest" or explicit in some way to be entertaining. In fact the explicit games ruins the reputation of games and people who play them. In the 2000s the industry had marketed games for everyone. Now the games promoted in certain regions are marketed to the same M rated game audience over and over again. TWW was a game that almost anyone could and would play including people who don't typically play games. I think this is Wind Waker's strong point if nothing else is.
Hey LPA, love the fact you loaded a long-play of Wind Waker! A couple things I noticed.. First, you seem to know where to go like it's your 20th time playing the game? I believe when you watch long-plays, its awesome to see it being played naturally like it's the first time. Most people watching long-plays haven't played the game once or twice, so it seems unnatural you knew where to go most of the Forsaken Fortress. Secondly, you're very skilled at playing, keep in mind the dialogue is important in Wind Waker... So much charm and fun lore! Yet it feels rushed to even read it fast, let alone with a few people in the room trying to keep up with the story... Hopefully this helps! Side note... you can name him Link, we'll know its still LPA ;)
What you’re looking for are blind plays. Longplays are supposed to be practiced beforehand. The dialogue is always proofread during the recording so it shouldn’t be too quick… if I were to go slower, some might complain it’s too slow. Can’t really win. Thanks for your feedback
Is this Wind Waker in HD or is this Wind Waker HD? I was hoping you would understand my stealth pun. Can you do a longplay of another 3DS game like Sonic or something?
in reality the open seas wouldn't be that calm for such a small boat to glide on it without some giant wave coming at it. they should have made you be able to do surfing and windsurfing tricks when you encountered them, maybe bonus speed if you did a flip combo or something adcanced like instead of encounter enemies you would encounter garages of waves, from multiple directions could have sed difficulty with plot points or a wind waker song you learn in the game
The game has 200%-hard mazes, if player is first-time player of it. Graphics are like Wii game, not GameCube game, but they show their age, despite being better than "Well, Just You Wait! The Holidays". Music is decent. Right hand of player in-game has A, B, X, Y, R and Z, meaning that it is better than all of LoZ games.
Need a remake of it and add some stuff or islands and then make a new one using the unreal engine windwaker fan made trailor on here for new style. It looks amazing!
i never played this game since i barely even owned a gamecube (was stolen) and sadly nintendo is obsessed with exclusives even though they can make a lot more money if they stopped doing it like that. well...recently sony announced PlayStation PC. having finally admitted that PC is a worthwhile platform. they are officially a publisher with god of war coming out January. back to the point. one day maybe nintendo will see the light. and some of its gems wont be lost to time and console restrictions.

Yep.
Whenever he does it I smile.
He's adorable.
I still can't believe that's not a taunt or a victory pose in Smash.
