Was an honor to be able to showcase this game again at GDQ! This run has changed so much in the past few years, so I really hope everyone enjoys the run!
I love your content so much Linkus and was so happy to see you there at GDQ! Also so happy to watch again here through the Vod, you did a great job on this run an hundreds more. Thank for being such a wholesome, passionate zelda fan (especially Wind Waker, it is my favorite). You've always had interesting and high quality content that has kept me wanting more every day, fr respect your work and hope you have an amazing day and week 🙏
Linkus7 is a natural at public speaking and entertaining the crowd. Everytime you watch his runs he explains everything so clearly while doing hard tricks and also telling jokes, the guy is top notch.
Linkus might just be the best runner GDQ has ever had on. Explains everything clearly, includes the audience, doesn't sweat the mistakes or RNG issues, lets the host know when to run donation comments, includes the couch guys and of course does the run exceptionally well.
Between Linkus and Gymnast, Zelda speedruns are always very well represented at GDQ events. Both are so good at explaining everything, keeping it accessible, and also being really heckin good at the games they play.
I’m personally also quite partial to SpikeVegeta, similarly great with commentary but also runs just a ton of different games and is familiar enough to commentate even more
When it comes to this game, Linkus7 is truly a masterclass at both speed and commentary Such a delight to watch this! Those who caught this LIVE were so lucky!
i absolutely love how he explains everything he does so even non speedrunners can understand all while doing the craziest tricks and glitches where you really have to focus
53:44 that long zombie hover - while talking, changing his sitting position, not seeing the screen, pushing buttons with his NOSE while keeping that rhythm - just mad mad impressive. I love seeing Linkus at GDQ, he explains the tricks so well!
Just for clarification, that Superswim tech that Linkus does at 6:00 is basically ridiculously hard and he makes it look easy. It's also the entry trick that anyone in this category has to do within the first 5 mins.
He talks about it briefly, but that's not entirely true. There is a much easier version of it using pause buffering, and it's pretty normal to start there. It's significantly slower, but when you are just learning the run, the time save isn't as important. It is something you have to learn if you want to go for good times or WR though, and is ridiculously hard lol
Any% is the most popular/competitive category so if youre pushing for wr then you defs have to get good at unbuffered super swimming. It's still viable (and healthier for your hands) to do buffered super swim, but is unfortunately slower for this catagory
it is insane that this is manual at all. last time he did this run at gdq, he explicitly said it was not HUMANELY POSSIBLE to do without pause buffering. Crazy.
Given how intricate these glitches can get it would not surprise me if there actually was a "Stop on your right foot, don't forget it!" in there somewhere, lol
Linkus7 is such a positive guy with just the most friendly attitude. But do NOT be fooled by this man, he is an absolute savage of a runner with some absolutely mad skills. Mad respect to you and your community Linkus!
man, i used to watch Wind Waker speedruns so much like 10 years ago, or more. i remember the WR was around 4 hours and 20 minutes back then, and the speedrunners were dreaming of finding the barrier skip. i love that they knew it was possible back then, but didn't know how to get it done. and now seeing the run being done in less than an hour, wow :P also, nice hearing Demoon9's name, he's the one i used to watch the most back then :D
Damn it really shows how good he is at explaining while playing, even in front of a live crowd. Absolute beast that guy. He took the job of the two commentators 😭 The girl off cam was also always so nice, just great vibes in this run over all
I've been watching Linkus for so long it's amazing how much passion and love fans have for a game so old. The speedruns are getting quicker it's beautiful.
I've not really watched much speedruns before and this was delightful! Linkus7 was really entertaining to watch and the host Pippy was very charming too. What a great way to fundraise, well done all!
I haven't followed Wind Waker speedrunning in several years, so this whole thing was crazy to watch and completely different from what I was familiar with. I remember the days when Any% used to be 3-4 hours long, back when you had to play the early game up to Dragon Roost Isle the intended way (mostly) and Barrier Skip was a pipedream. Edit: That new Tingle Tuner development is actually hilarious. 10 year old forum post magically solves a previously impossible problem. I love that.
IKR? He's breathing like he just lifted 50 pounds for a minute, or ran a mile, at the end of it. Plus he had to do that while controlling the gameboy! Incredible stuff!
Fantastic execution of the last zombie hover from Linkus! Cheers to him and the amount of dedication it takes to do the speedrun, narrate AND control the timing of the Tinkle-Tuner. Amazing speedrun once again!
I've been watching GDQ Wind Waker runs since Narcissas run in 2013. What a journey. And great to see, how many glitches, that she dreamed of back then, are now done by this talented swedish chap
LOVE seeing Linkus do runs. This GDQ really popped off with Zelda runs - Windwaker, OOTR, and Echoes of Wisdom were all amazing! Also loved the energy from this host :)
I've missed a lot of GDQ over the past couple years so idk exactly when y'all started doing this, but I just noticed the stylized content warning on top of the screen for flashing images and gotta say I really appreciate that you took the time to put that in!
Watching this and seeing all of the donations come in from gamers that have grown with GDQ, and sharing it with their children is something my heart wasn’t ready for. The next generation of gaming is in good hands. Thanks for uploading everything. Love seeing all of the generosity and love being shared. Keep gaming friends, and to the little ones watching with their parents. … you have no idea how much you mean to the community. Amazing.
I remember having this as a kid...I had the sail in my inventory on the first island...but I sailed all the way across the ocean without equipping it...spent like an hour cursing on what they did to the new Zelda game. What an idiot lol....I also did the water temple in Ocarina without even realizing there was a water tunic..that was difficult
In Majora's Mask, I used to swim by pressing A repeatedly, like in Mario 64. I beat the whole game like that (including the turtle dungeon), except for the beaver race. Spent hours on it over several days, never managed to win, cursed the game and finally gave up. Only learned the correct way to do it a couple years later, by a friend in high school.
Wind Waker! I remember when we thought any% was dead for this game, but look at it now! Linkus7 is such a great runner, I always watch his runs on GDQ. Awesome job, everyone!
I've heard of the tricks but never seen a live run of this game in full. WOW this looks like torture lol. Huge shoutout to linkus for running this horrifying game live and still getting a solid time while his hands are exploding
Wow, I was wondering why YT had recommended me Linkus’s AGDQ 2022 speedrun. Then it made sense with this vid 😂 also makes sense how linkus recently showed the whole strat on stream and later a YT vid
Wind waker was probably the first speedrun that got me into watching speed runs, and if I'm not mistaken it was a linkus video explaining the run. Pretty sure the run was around the 5 hour mark at that point, and I remember being amazed at some of the stuff that could be done. Crazy to see how much it's changed now.
I think Wind Waker has got to be my favorite game to see speedruns of, just because it's really polished and completely busted at the same time. None of these glitches have any effect on a normal playthrough, but they totally break the game in half if applied properly.
It's GDQ Time! Linkus yess! I didn't realize how long it's been. That's amazing Linkus! Married, moved to us and thriving! Good to hear it, I am really glad :) just a fan of the events when I found Linkus years back so that's cool to see him back.
Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 is live right now! www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick/
Was an honor to be able to showcase this game again at GDQ! This run has changed so much in the past few years, so I really hope everyone enjoys the run!
it was really fun to watch, thank you!
I knew the route changed, but I didn't know it changed _that_ much
I love your content so much Linkus and was so happy to see you there at GDQ! Also so happy to watch again here through the Vod, you did a great job on this run an hundreds more. This is the first time a Creator I actually watch has been at GDQ! Congrats Linkus! 💜
Legends never die.
Crazy how since Linkus last did a run at GDQ he’s gotten engaged, married, moved to the US, bought a house. Congrats Linkus!
Good for him, but also what a wild time to show up in the US.
Now he gets to suffer with the rest of us in this country. Wouldn't call that a flex.
Oh really
@@JayHankEdLyon Guess it's his calling, ever since I saw the first video of him, I thought he's vibes were 100% American and 0% Scandinavian.
@@kaizendon6237 I think it's as simple as his wife is American so he moved to be with her lol.
Linkus7 is a natural at public speaking and entertaining the crowd. Everytime you watch his runs he explains everything so clearly while doing hard tricks and also telling jokes, the guy is top notch.
Honestly I was thinking the same exact thing! It feels so natural for him and he manages to feel crowd-inclusive and engaging the whole time as well!
He's been doing it for so many years on stream and doing his breakdowns on his youtube as well, he is very well practiced.
wouldn't say hes a natural, but he got very good from streaming
It's also in his second language. Extremely impressive.
He's not a natural. He acquired his ability through intent and effort. He was not nearly that good at it in the past.
Linkus might just be the best runner GDQ has ever had on. Explains everything clearly, includes the audience, doesn't sweat the mistakes or RNG issues, lets the host know when to run donation comments, includes the couch guys and of course does the run exceptionally well.

He would be; if there wouldn't be the Naeglaria Sonic 1 run from SQDG 2013
Wow, everyone else must be mediocre then if that's the bar?
I think him and TomatoAn(g)us are in a league of their own when it comes to commentating and performing at the same time.
When it comes to this game, Linkus7 is truly a masterclass at both speed and commentary
Such a delight to watch this! Those who caught this LIVE were so lucky!
i absolutely love how he explains everything he does so even non speedrunners can understand all while doing the craziest tricks and glitches where you really have to focus
@@Rin_404 his speedrun explanations while he goes through the tricks ingame are insane! To me they were a great introduction into speedrunning.
Aloakirby is below 45min

Funniest part about it is that because he does the manual super swim so much it's built up a ridiculous amount of muscle in that arm.
He talks about it briefly, but that's not entirely true. There is a much easier version of it using pause buffering, and it's pretty normal to start there. @@birb--birb--If you’re going for the actual world record, none of the tricks are really entry level anymore
Linkus giving the barrier skip instructions is giving spongebob "TECHNIQUEEEEEE" energy

Linkus is so great in explaining everything very detailed and still being entertaining.
agreed mate - he's got the perfect balance. i can think of very few others who can do the same in this genre

Incredible how you can commentate and run simultaneously so well 🐐

I clicked on the run for this exact reason. I remember watching a run that was over 3 hours and couldn't believe this one was under an hour!
Super swimming without pausing!?!? Linkus has become too powerful!! Great job!!!
Damn it really shows how good he is at explaining while playing, even in front of a live crowd. Absolute beast that guy. He took the job of the two commentators 😭 The girl off cam was also always so nice, just great vibes in this run over all

I really love hearing Linkus7 say plethora, it means a lot.
We're at the point where getting swole is a legit speedrun strat.
RIP Pausa at GDQ!
Luigi is my favorite Nintendo character. I'm glad he's finally getting the respect he deserves.
Year of Luigi 2

Linkus was how I found speedrunning! He just explains stuff so well, his streams are great and the community is lovely:)
YES Linkus bummed i missed this run at work today but enjoying it with a glass of wine at home now. He commentates so well I love watching his runs
Linkus has come such a long way, I remember when he was first starting out. So glad he's still keeping up with WW!
Hey babe, wake up, linkus destroyed windwaker again
Start of 2025 and we already have linkus7 speed running windwaker at AGDQ. This just keeps getting better and better.😁👍👍

You've seen Tool Assisted Speedruns but that was a Nose Assisted Speedrun
Man I've been watching GDQ since 2012, it's insane how big the event and the speedrunning community has become.

Amazing performance from Linkus, the caster, and the 2 veterans sitting in the couch, ready to help at any given time with their knowledge!
This was an incredible run to watch, lots of incredibly precise tech and brilliantly explained throughout!
Linkus's windwaker run a few years back is my alltime favourite speedrun showcase at a GDQ. So excited to see it return with all the new tech!
i missed the live of this run! thx for sharing it :D it was awesome c:
I can watch this guy over and over again in this game. Always a delight to see him do these glitches. It never gets old
You are a blessing to the gaming community Linkus.
honestly the most insane run i've ever seen
A great run. I don't watch a lot of speedruns, but this one kept me captivated throughout.
Chat choosing the name luigi is so based, they knew what they were doing. The audience applauded when luigi was chosen lmao
Always love seeing Linkus's runs on GDQ!
Wow I haven’t seen any of these skips. This is insane! Great run and really liked the explanations on the glitches and general shenanigans

Gosh linkus7 is such a good runner plus communitor. So funny and informative. It’s no wonder why they always ask him to come back.
I dont even need to see the video to know he absolutely crushed it.
What's this new Linkus lore? We have:
Linkus6 15:20
Linkus9 15:30
Linkus2 1:01:45
How many more Linkus-es are there!?
I don't think it's new Linkus lore. I think it's donators having fun
Loved this!
41:44 Linkus is my new Favourite Swedish Dance instructor: D
SUB 1 HOUR AT A MARATHON!? LETS GOOOOO!!!
Goes to show how insane Linkus is, considering the horrible luck at the start, still gets under estimate.
So impressive to commentate live while doing this
Love this run. One of the best examples of playing the game by not playing the game :]
Other players build muscle memory. Linkus builds muscle
I cant believe he did that super swim with minimal pause buffering 🤯
Love seeing a speedrun of this in the new year spn after finishing my let's play of this game. :)
