Thank you for the video. I am glad ron spomer convinced me to try this round a couple years ago and now it is my most used. This is a great all around cartridge with mild recoil, fairly flat trajectory and one of the few widely available short action 7mm's. I hope this continues to be popular for years to come, it is hard to tell however with all of these new " latest and greatest" cartridges that are honestly not needed for most people.
@@joshuavillnave3804 hey you’re welcome, thank you for taking the time to watch the video. Like you said, the 7-08 is a great all around cartridge. Sadly great rounds like this are often overlooked for the newer, flashier, not as efficient cartridges. Thankfully there are many that use this round and hopefully more will be introduced to it. I think it will be around for quite some time yet. Happy New Year
Well that's too bad. Then again, why endure more recoil when it isn't required. The 7-08 is extremely versatile and will do all that you ask it to, without the recoil. All the best and happy new year
Thanks for stopping in. How long have you had experience with the 7-08? Like I said, we've only used it for 2 years now. However, it is my boys favorite and it is beginning to grow on me. All the best
I came across this cartridge back in 2000.. I was reading and digesting information in regards to a cartridge that was offered in short lightweight handy rifles with light recoil! The 7mm-08 Remington is my favorite cartridge.. however.. my favorite caliber is 358 ❤ I have experience with a handful.. the 350 Remington Mag.. the 358 Winchester.. the 35 Whelen.. the 350 Legend.. and the 357 magnum carbine ❤ If I was looking for a firearm for a youth just starting out.. I'd recommend the 350 Legend! Short lightweight handy low recoil.. and will knock the snot out of the biggest buck in the woods!
Hey there, thank you for stopping in and leaving your reply, I really appreciate it. Yes, I am thrilled that we have the 7-08 in our safe now. It will certainly serve my son well over many years. Maybe one time he will even let his old man use it....doubt it. The 7-08 is great, but my go to round is the 358 Winchester. I have a 35 Whelen Ackley Improved that has a 26" bbl, that provides considerably more thump than the 358. The Rem Model 7 350 RM we have is also fantastic. But neither of them have fit, feel or charm of the 358, if that makes any sense. I hope you have a great week. MW
@@jeffreyjohnson5092 I am starting to really enjoy the 7-08 too. I’m sure the more time I have with it, the more I will like it. I know my Son loves it and I’m sure he will have many wonderful years with it.

I’m 69 and sadly become somewhat sensitive to recoil. I did some research and settled on the 7mm-08 and could not be happier.
