  • In August 2021 an investigative team from NTV embarked on a fact-finding mission after receiving numerous allegations from patients of sexual assault at the hands of a nurse at a Laikipia health facility. After going undercover for 2 months, NTV managed to capture the accused male nurse in the act and corroborated the same with other victims.
We bring you the chilling accounts from patients of Sipili Maternity and Nursing Home who have been caught in the whirlwind of inconceivable acts exposing the rotting heart of a facility that promised care but delivered trauma. Ngina Kirori lifts the lid on a secret concealed in a quiet community in the heart of Laikipia.

The reason 'Amina' screamed so loud is because she knew there was someone in the next room that would come to her rescue after she had shared her previous experience with this journalist. She knew that at least somebody cared and helped her realize that what was being done to her was wrong and unnecessary. This is a primary example of why most women suffer in silence after being defiled mostly because they don't trust that whoever they come forward to with this information will be on their side so they'd rather not endure the shame; being poorly judged and all.

At the consultation room I met a male medic who qfter explaining my symptoms he began pressing my stomach and told me to undress so he can "check" my virginity because he believes it is the cause of my stomachache. I assumed he was up to no good. When I tried to leave the room he held me back. Nilimuuma uso in the process and screamed. I went home and told my mum the whole ordeal usitake jua the circus she caused at that facility. Women go through a lot of sexual abuse than is reported in Kenyan hospitals.

And to the regulatory authority, such facilities should completely be disbanded. The back then stops with the county government to put up a health facility around there.

It's terrible and heartbreaking..fellow kenyans if you experience such acts pls don't keep it, reach out so that we end this impunity...seems they're even enjoying protection from law enforcement arm of gvmnt..but let's ACT NOW....kudos NTV, that's proffesional journalism..we need more of this to expose the rot
