"Just this once, EVERYBODY LIVES"!!! It means so much to hear this from the Doctor after what he went through in the time war. He lost his planet, all his people and his family and friends along with it. After what he went through, the Doctor wants nothing more than to repent. Make up for what he had to do in the time war, he lives for victories like this. A pivotal moment in the development of the ninth Doctor.
Its not even that only, when watching all of new who and going back to this you see that so many people die so often that this really was an oddity within the confines of just what we see in new who aswell
"Everybody knows the everybody dies...and nobody knows it like the Doctor...but I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark, if he *ever* for one moment *accepts* it." R.S./M.P.
"And I can hear you. Coming to find you, coming to fiiiind you" best spooky line in the episode IMO. Nice to see it still holds up to people watching the show for the first time.
A year ago, meanwhile a question is answered from Torchwood, Captain Jack isn't his actual name he took it from a world war 2 captain who got shot down killed in the process his real name is unknown
The Doctor wasn't the only one who was dancing. I was as well as soon as I got the notification for this. And you 2 did not disappoint. Your chemistry is phenomenal.
This is so kind of you and makes me so happy to hear that people are enjoying it! I'm glad y'all can be apart of this timey wimey wibbly wobbly adventure 💙
The irony of course being that Captain Jack is referred to as "Handsome Jack" in a later Doctor Who episode, to which the name of the Borderlands 2 character is a direct reference. It was only supposed to be a placeholder name at first, but worked so well that it was kept in the final game!
An outstanding two part story for me. It is epic, the story is brilliant and complex, with great twists and the cliff-hanger for The Empty Child is really creepy. Dr Who at its best really. The production values for it are amazing, watching those planes grind ominously through the sky passed Rose. One of my fav moments is when Rose is on the ship with Jack and he plays Moonlight Serenade. It is both thrilling and touching too. What an ending though!
This episode really creeped me out the first time I saw it. Creepy little kids have always bothered me. While I saw the twist coming a mile away, it was still well played out. The Doctor's solutions always see to involve sacrifice on someone's part so it was wonderful to see the joy on Eccleston's face when he saved everyone. It really seemed to lift a weight off his soul and helped to usher in Tennant's Doctor.
A really lovely reaction this week. You went from being creeped out by the gas mask zombies to tearing up after hearing the truth about Jaime and his mummy, to beaming with delight during the "everybody lives!" scene. Terrific stuff! Nice to see that you're both so invested.
I can't help myself!! This show tugs on my heart strings in so many ways for so many different reasons. I just feel like Christopher Eccelston did such an incredible job with this roll. Portraying this individual who has seen so much death and destruction and to have this moment of "Everybody Lives!!" Ugh it just gets me!!
@@KatAlysha Agreed. I loved his portrayal of the Doctor at the time, and it only gets better on rewatching. Damn its hard talking about this series without giving stuff away for newbies !!😂
How did they miss having jack come back with, “I’m not your mommy but I could be your daddy.” Come on Moffatt the line writes itself when Jacks on screen.
When you do an impersonation of the Doctor you do a strange generic , British accent Americans think British people sound like, when Christopher Eccleston has a Lancashire, North West , accent. Xx
One of the best episodes/stories of Doctor Who. Definitely the best storyline of Eccleston's era. I say era however it was just a season that still pisses me off to this day that him and the creators have such difficulties to wear he hasn't come back yet/didn't get at least two seasons. Although to be fair for the fandom overall I understand switching over to the next doctor was the thing that made the show super popular again especially in the United States.
could you guys maybe do two Episodes a week? I feel like at this rate it's going to take you a few years before you get caught up to present day episodes. That and I really enjoy watching these. Waiting a whole week per one episode doesn't satisfy my fix. :)
It took Sesskasays 3 years to get to Series 11 last month. It was worth it. Plus, steady content for your content for your channel. Also, the Doctor Who reaction community will find you and subscribe. Sesskasays went from 1000 subscribers when she started Who to where she just got her 40,000th recently.
Jack Harkness isn't actual is real name, he stole it. I haven't listened to any of the audio dramas or read the comics but I'm pretty sure we've never been told his actual name.
His actual name is John Barrowman (real life name) I think that might be what she meant Katrina... Maybe... Or it's just me, I just woke up, forgive me.
One of the better WHO two-parters. Now Jack has joined the team, and you now are heading full steam towards the final 3 episodes of the series, which are also some of my favorites. Can't wait to see the reactions. Enjoy ladies!

The "Everybody lives!" line is one of my favourite lines from Nine.
Its not even that only, when watching all of new who and going back to this you see that so many people die so often that this really was an oddity within the confines of just what we see in new who aswell
It's one of my favorite moments of the whole series, and Eccleston plays it perfectly.
"Everybody knows the everybody dies...and nobody knows it like the Doctor...but I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark, if he *ever* for one moment *accepts* it." R.S./M.P.
This was one of the most powerful and moving lines from The Doctor.
They each one.
"EVERYBODY LIVES" is still one of the all time great Doctor Who moments. Closing in on season finale time now!
Ironiv he would say it during a world war
"And I can hear you. Coming to find you, coming to fiiiind you" best spooky line in the episode IMO. Nice to see it still holds up to people watching the show for the first time.
"Hang onto the banana. " Why?" "It's good potassium."

Ohhh I'm seconds in and already you dropped a Borderlands 2 reference! I knew you gals were my kind of people 😅🙌

Oh, the days when gold light surrounding the Doctor wasn’t triggering
2:13 It's weird how you two do the same thing with no cue... Like your twins... ... I like it, it makes me smile.
You got the Fan/Newbie reaction thing running perfectly... more!
john schofield why, thank you!
Everybody lives, Rose. Just this once. EVERYBODY LIVES!!!
I'm so glad I had other people to cry a little with❤
This is the best of Series 9 other then finale. Achievement reached. The reactions of you both is a delight.

Oh no, the crying again! :( Great reactions, yet again!
Great episodes ladies. You work so hard and we are all thankful. Looking forward to next time.
Loving your respective reactions. Awesome mix of reactions, and some good emotion
Another great reaction.... oh Katrina 😩 first time Ive seen someone cry at this . ❤

another amazing reaction!
Glad to see no phones out this week ;p
Right there with you in those reactions. One of the very best episodes (that goes for parts 1 and 2). It just is! :)
The lady at the end with her leg grown back reminds me of the lady in Star Trek Voyage Home that gets a new kidney. 😂
Such an awesome cast.

Got to love Captain Jack. Everybody Lives Rose, everybody lives!

Novaximus we are definitely working toward that!
@@FANTHEORYTV That would be nice. There are 11 series now so... lots of sexy stuff. ^^
That'd be great! Thanks for reading and responding to my message. I'm hyped.

best two parter
Can we just point out how "dance" here it's a subtle way to mean sex? No? Ok.
PLEASE if you can watch Torchwood and the Sarah Jane adventures
Are YOU my mummy?

Yeah, I re-watched it a third time, it was my sleepy head. But knowledge is power... ... ...

Henry in NorCal we like to think of ‘em as “Who-Parters”
Are you my mummy?
Jack Hartness's name is actually John Barrowman
And he's a really lovely person, but sorry girls, though he's very very handsome, he's very, very gay.
Jack is a short form on the name John, in Scotland it's Joch or Jock. Strangely it has the same amount of numbers, nver worked the logic in that.
