I love the idea that 9s clothes came from JC Penny's the day he blew it up. As he'd just regenerated and needed a change of clothes, he landed there, stole the outfit and then just kinda happened to run into the Autons and Rose by accident.
I know not everyone considers the EU canon, but 9 was the doctor for a WHILE prior to Rose. This is supported by the War Doctor claiming to be 800 in DotD, and 9 claiming to be 900 in Aliens of London.

Thank you for including the 2nd Doctor getting his new clothes out of the chest. So many fans continue to spread that misinformation about the clothes changing during the regeneration (which they don't) even to this very day and I'm SO sick and tired of hearing that nonsense. The 14th Doctor is the ONLY Doctor who had their clothes change as part of the regeneration, and anyone who says otherwise is just factually wrong. So again, thank you for including that!!
Parts of 2's outfit clearly changed. He is no longer wearing 1's jacket, vest or cravat. He is wearing a bow tie that 1 was not wearing, and what appears to be a different style of shirt. 1 also never wore the oversized belt that 2 is. The only consistency between the two is the cloak and the ring.

I like to think 4 already had his outfit picked out, he just cycled through a bunch of even more ridiculous outfits so that the Brig would accept him wearing his outfit. 6 chose his outfit because of his regeneration sickness but then kept it because it annoyed Peri and that was his love language. Except the cat pin. He likes cats. One thing I noticed about 8 was that the costume he found came with a holster and a fake gun (it was a Wild Bill Hickock costume) and he immediately tossed it aside. When he regenerates into the War Doctor, the first thing he does is put on a bandolier. I don't know if they intended for that to happen or not but it's a nice contrast to see the Doctor put on something he previously would toss away.
This is one of the reasons why I like the doctor, his wacky outfits, they need to be bold, stand out, look inspiring and most importantly have a reason, nowadays the idea is brushed off, like 14 for some reason regenerating clothes and 15s billion outfits that can be mistaken for casual, keep in mind the doctor is not a human, he’s an alien, and he needs to show it off while also blending into society
Love that tiny detail of the ring dropping off the 2nd doctor's hand. It now feels like an Easter egg to sing the ring drop in the regeneration from 12 to 13. It also feels really scandalous to see 3 running around half naked!
honestly i'm kinda disappointed that Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor doesn't have the type of uniform the other doctors did but come to think of it his style is always cohesive enough to be easily spotted in a crowd and for any outfit to look "doctor-like" and i hope whoever will come after him will come back to the uniform type of outfits, making the constant change of wardrobe Gatwa's uniform I find it funny that Ruby wanted to change her clothes to blend in when they were actually fashionable enough for the 60s (more mid 60s for ruby, early 70s for the doctor) and yet they both went "oh no *cough cough* we have to change to blend in that new time period *wink wink*" edit, i'm actually mistaken, this incarnation of he doctor has the most differences between his outfits but he keeps up with the general "keeping the same silhouette, a signature piece and playing with textures to stay i the theme of the adventure"
It still annoys me that it wasn't explained WHY the Doctor's clothes changed when 13 regenerated into 14, not even a handwave explanation, we just got NOTHING.
RTD said he didn't want the image of DT in 'woman's clothing' to be spread across all the tabloids as the image of doctor who, and didn't want them to be taking the piss out of it. But it would've been nice to have it explained in universe, but hey... it's doctor who.

I agree, he does look better in that outfit! But, that costume is one of the Third Doctor's alternate outfits, so it would've been weird for the 7th Doctor to just be wearing the same thing that the 3rd did as his primary look.
I would love to see fans create their own scenes for the incarnations of the Doctor that got their costumes off screen, whether it is in live action, audio, animated or illustrated form. It would also be interesting to see the Doctors when they get different costumes midway through their era like how the Eleventh Doctor changed from the brown tweed jacket to the purple coat in The Bells of Saint John.
The Timelords knew he'd have trouble fitting into daily life on Earth, so they added a tattoo when they forced his tegeneration to make it look lime he'd been there a while. Probably. Possibly. Maybe. Perhaos.
While I think Ncuti looks great in basically all the outfits he wears, it’s kinda not helping the identity of his doctor that he almost never wears an outfit that feels unique to him. Like 10 had the coat and suit, 11 had the bow tie, 12 had the crombie and hoodies, 13 had the long coat and rainbow t-shirt. 15 has a few outfits that feel like his but not one that makes me think “oh yeah. He’s definitely the 15th doctor.”
15 dosent really work for the doctor choosing their outfit because he has a different one each episode it dosent give him a silhouette like every other doctor had from the beginning of the show
so um not many people know this but technically there is a scene of 9's, just implied instead of direct 9's first appearance for us is at a department store's storage, where he couldve gotten that leather jacket and such. he was also wearing a trenchcoat in photos implied to be before he got the jacket look. having photos after that too because time isnt linear either way, that scene where he saved rose and totaled the store to stop the mannequins is technically the scene where he changes to his look
I like the different ways different Doctors have sometimes seen prior outfits and (to greater or lesser extent) provided information about the new personality in their reaction 💙
I still think 13 should have had more clothes variety, kinda like how 11 & 12's clothing changes over the course of their era, & 15 should have an actual scene of him trying out different clothes like 6, 7, & 10 did rather than just skipping to him all dressed up.
The irony of the Doctor and Ruby changing into "sixties" clothes, while wearing perfectly passable "sixties" clothes was not lost on me. But 15's kilt was his best outfit.
Ironically both of the outfits the 15th doctor and ruby were wearing would probably not too out of place in the 60s anyway before they changed. I do wish we got to see the 15th doctor choose their first outfit as we have already seen them wear around 9 different outfits.

In the chibnell era we only saw the cockpit and so far in rtd2 era we have only seen the cockpit. He then runs of to visits Clara, for the first time, in the Present day, but Clara is confused and do does not know who he is. The Doctor then realize he is still wearing the Monks Robe so he went back to the Tardis. He went "downstairs" lookes into a trunk and pulled out 2 Outfits. 11th first clothes he wore when he was with Amy. And a second new outfit. Because of bad memories he threw away the old outfut and went for a new one. So where is THIS Scene, hm? Missing.

1:41 - 1:49 This proves the theory that time works differently inside the Tardis. It literally took the Fourth Doctor five seconds to get changed. Not only does the Tardis interior exist in a different dimension it also exists in a different time zone. Five seconds in the outside world gives the Doctor like half an hour to an hour to get changed inside the Tardis. It’s like that film _Interstellar,_ if you know what I mean.
maybe he changed the settings so that Time moved faster inside the Tardis which slows down time outside the tardis there's a plenty of different settings on the tardis, including time reversal (as you remember from the episode when Titanic crashed into the tardis, 10th Doctor reversed it)

It's a pretty generic style. I've worn similar back in the 80s and 90s.

I guess cause he doesn’t really have “an outfit” - they could show him change clothes every single episode, so it’s not as big a deal lol
They included him changing so there is that. They didn't even include 9 and that wasn't mentioned here so I'm think this comment is less concern about including everyone.
