I am considering buying a Series S just to try out the games that aren’t available on One S, but what I find people also forget is DVD movies / shows that are only available on DVD and not through streaming. But also, if someone has a One S which they use as a dvd player as well as a games console, unless you want to try out a couple next gen games / capabilities, what’s the point of adding more money on?
You can pry open One S and upgrade the internal storage by yourself. The worst part is that some part of the outer shells is difficult to open. And, it only recognizes 2TB at most.

@_BaguetteDoggo yes, I do know that. I only use it for exclusives, and don't do much multiplayer stuff though. I ended getting the 1tb series s. It do3s the job I need it to
Series S has more power and higher fps. You can also have up to 3 games on quick resume so you can quickly switch without having to load up your game again. Storage is an easy cheap fix with either an hhd or ssd depending on the storage you want. I love my Xbox Series S. Everyone complains about no disk drive, but that's just going to be a reality in the near future, and you will have to deal with it.
Actually Phil Spencer said they will continue to support physical. All of my games are digital except for one call of duty black ops 3 which looks great on my Series X

But does the Xbox 1 S run 360 games at 60 frames. Because I would like to have the minor enhancements on the 360 titles.
More than anything it's speed. Loading times are virtually slim to none in comparison, gameplay moves to most games playing at 60fps especially with FPS boost(not sure if this feature is available on the previous generation) SSD drastically improves overall performance of the system in comparison to One S & One X HDD. Graphics and textures are a lot more detailed on the Series S & X. Start off with an S, I had one for almost a year before I traded it in for an X. Ultimately, if you aren't huge on graphic fidelity, now is the perfect time to upgrade to the Series S. Paired with a good 2K-4K TV/Monitor, the Series S pumps out 1080P-1440P(2k) at 60 fps and in some cases 120(Ori and the Will of the Wisps) & Series S can upscale to 4k similar to how the One S could as well. Sure it's not native but tbh paired with the SSD, most casual gamers won't be able to tell the difference.
