Load times make good breaks to piss and grab more beer🤣
😂 yeah I can see that
After owning both consoles for over a year, I can say that it all depends upon the type of games that you primarily play. As far as modern games, I prefer the performance of the series s over the raw graphical output of the one x. I mainly gravitate towards 360 and original XB games at the moment, so the one x was more convenient as its cheaper to buy the game disk instead of overpaying for the digital version (unless its on sale).
One x is better bro
One x also can do 120 hz
Put a 2.5” ssd in your one x and the series s is put to shame.
The one x is 4k the graphics are much better but the series s is for speed.
@@Herostail lol. What games???
have my series x since release, and recently installed an internal SSD and repasted the CPU, and wow that Xbox One X feels insane now. I use the xbox one x as a media machine. 4K blu ray player, optical input and with an SSD feels amazing!
Yeah I had some success with external SSD but I guess an internal one would help a lot - it'd be 😎 if ms made custom drivers for such set up and see if quick resume would be possible on a Xbox one x with a sdd upgrade with the right specs.
i actually did the same thing lol when i couldn't get a series x and didnt want a series s because no disk drive and not much memorie and I have a bunch of games and the Xbox one x is actually amazing and plays all games great
I can just confirm that fells insane now
How much was the ssd drive my Xbox one s has been stuck on tha trouble shooting page and I’m gonna need a new blue ray drive I’m thinking maybe I should just get it fixed cause i’m not really trying to buy another Xbox gaming system or should I just try to upgrade to the X but I’m actually I am looking for a good deal on a PS five but I still wanna have an Xbox to play the S is out of the question because it doesn’t have any disc and I still wanna play some of my 360 and Xbox one games what do y’all think should I get the Xbox one fixed
I'd rather stick with the One X, just not enough memory on the Series S and I can't justify the price of buying the Series S and then buying more storage when I could spend my money on something more worth it, I'm not too bothered with waiting for the load time to be able to have more games on one console, also I prefer quality as you said if you try to go for quality on the Series S there's a definite FPS problem, I just wish that you could upgrade to SSD on the One X as surely you could load games faster, one thing I'm pissed at xbox for though is the One X was meant to be the go between before you upgraded but the truth is it's not because most game developers aren't willing to support it now the next gen is out making it almost obsolete, like CDPRED we basically sank money into Cyberpunk 2077 just for it to run like shit, some of us asked for our money back and some of us decided to wait in faith just for them to throw it back in our faces like they fixed the game almost but now they're saying there focus won't be on the One, the truth is that the One X is still relevant and can keep up with the Series S and developers could easily keep the One X up to date but they just won't as it's tied to the Xbox One I don't get it 🤷
I'm sure you can upgrade to ssd on xbox one x
The One X can play physical discs so if you're a physical collector than the Series S isn't even in the cards. In addition, by equipping the One X with an internal SSD, the consoles overall performance, load times and UI functions improve dramatically. Still not as fast and snappy as a Series S and the One X CPU is still pretty underpowered, but many games on the One X will run at 1080p while maintaining a pretty rock solid framerate, going as high as 60 fps even in games like Halo Infinite. They'll also play in 4K but the framerate will take a hit so, in my opinion, its probably better to think of the One X as a 1080p machine. Only the Series X can pull off high framerate 4K gaming as far as Xbox goes.
Biggest issue is by the end of this year nothing will be made for the older platform.
@@DEVILTAZ35 For the most part, yes. I expect nothing after Spring 2023, but that's pretty far from right now at the time of this message. Hopefully the Series X will be more widely available by then. Until then my One X will be good enough.
@DEVILTAZ35 false. The biggest issue is they're still making games for last gen. Damn near 4 years into the generation, holding next gen back.
I want to add that changing the resolution in the console settings does not affect fps. The games render how how they render it depends if the game has a performance mode.
This is not a PC
Maybe one day developers will use the RT cores in the S. I think that would make the Series S if you don't mind 1080P 30 to 60. What MS should do is able to make the Series S detect another console on the same layer 2 network, and authorise the the disk in that console.
Probably once last generation games are no longer being developed.
@@HandsomeGadgets To be honest DX scaling can determine hardware and adjust the effects.
Watch Dogs Legion uses RT on Series S
Series S has no "RT" cores. AMD doesn't have a single GPU even today with "RT" cores.
@@OG-Jakey You are wrong about amd cards. RT cores are differant than Nvidia RTX cores. Both cards and all comsoles have Ray Tracing cores. AMD is way less powerful than nvidia.
Wasn't sure if you mentioned the SSD upgrade on the One X? I just upgraded mine to a Samsung 1TB SSD yesterday and my god it has made massive improvements to game load times and graphic performance. I am giving this console to my nephew for his birthday as I also bought a Series X about a month ago. Personally, I would take an Xbox One X with internal SSD over a Series S anyday.
I only compare what the consoles are straight out of the box. Plus an SSD upgrade will add on to the cost of the one X. Series S is a WAY better deal overall.
@@HandsomeGadgets I still feel only 512GB internal storage is pretty lame in this day and age, though the Series S are going really cheap 2nd hand now..... so thats pretty decent and might work for some.
Off topic but I am trying to watch the new Halo Series on Paramount+ on the Series X or One X but cannot find the streaming app on the Windows App Store? So I find it strange I can't even watch this TV series on an Xbox.
Maybe not working in Australia yet....though in the web it says the app is available on the store?
It's probably best that you don't watch the Halo show lol. I lost interest after the 2nd episode.
Your actually brainDED DF already tested it was still way slower thsn XSS but still improved a bit. Your comment saying graphical perfomance has improved is so d##b not even funny
@@HandsomeGadgetssounds to me like you are showing favoritism towards the Xbox Series S. That external HDD for the Series S wasn't right out of the box either buddy! When I clicked on this video I was expecting a clean comparison, but all you did was try, and make the Xbox One X look bad.
I have the Xbox One X and think it's PERFECTLY fine for gaming! I'm not going to buy an all digital game system just because it has quick resume. Not to mention that since the Series S doesn’t have a disc drive storage will fill up rather quickly. (Stick with the One X)
Yes, the one x is fine for gaming. But the series s brings you into this current generation at the lowest cost.
Towards the end of this year and beyond though it won't be supported anyway. So no good sticking with it if you want new games lol.
You know, even with a disc, You still install the entire disc/game and run the game from the internal storage. Optical Disc read speeds are too slow to keep up with the demands. The disc essentially serves as a license now, very much like PC has forever.
To be honest who the fuck needs the Xbox Series S? It has a weak ass GPU 🤮👎 unlike Xbox One X is actually able to output native 4k 😍 besides I basically swapped my internal hard drive with a Toshiba 2TB internal SSD and it is fast as fuck 😍 Plus my One X is outputting 4K HDR 10 at 60 Hz with variable refresh rate enabled and it's such a game changer unlike Xbox shit S cannot output native 4K It can only do upscaled 4K 🤦 most games run at a max of 1080p and some run at 1440p No thanks I prefer native 4k over FHD or QHD any day of the week 🤦
I’m probably gonna get the series s just because I have GAEMS Sentinel monitor and my series x doesn’t fit. It was designed for Xbox ones and ps4s but I really want a solid 60fps and I know the series s will handle that plus it fits in the Sentinel.🙌🏾
I have a Series S, and a PS5 Disk edition, I think that is the perfect combo, I got the Disk edition of the PS5 because I have physical PS4 games, but all my Xbox games are all digital so, I mean I would love a Series X but could not justify paying the extra $200 for the Series X.
Nice 👍. I'm glad it's working out for you.
@@HandsomeGadgets Thank you, btw did you know if you let your gamepass ultimate expire, and then get 3 one year Xbox live gold cards, then click to upgrade your Xbox live gold to gamepass ultimate, you pay the 14.99 to upgrade to the gamepass ultimate then it turns all your Xbox live gold time into gamepass ultimate time (UpTo 36 months) it saved me a lot of money because you can get a one year Xbox live gold card for $55 on Amazon, but you have to wait until your gamepass ultimate expires, so turn off recurring billing. You have good videos so hope this hint helps out. You can add the Xbox live gold time and upgrade it to ultimate 24 hours after your gamepass ultimate expires. I'm letting you know because I paid for game pass ultimate for about 4 months before my friend told me about this, and yeah it worked, plus with the money I'm saving I'm probably going to get the expansion card for my series s
@@thedivinityman Not anymore 😭😭
@@gabrieljohnson1854 it's okay I asked in the three years I had game pass adult up enough bing reward points my doing the daily quests that I have enough points to get another 3 years for free, I just want to know I have a one year Xbox gold card what does that translate to in game pass time after the update I think it's like 8 months but I'm not sure. Plus I have 3 years of PlayStation Plus premium, when I was able to get it for 60 a year and a website I got PlayStation Plus for 12 months cheaper says they will be doing a year of premium for 65 bucks on black Friday so I just plan to get another couple years every black Friday for my PS plus premium, I'm just looking to either just get game pass PC, or ultimate when I can get deals on it or use my Microsoft points to get it. If I can't get ultimate I'll just sell my Series S and just get game pass PC and use the points or black Friday sales for that, and my PS plus premium.
I got an Xbox One X for Christmas 2017 and have no regrets. As for load times, an external SSD help with that. Even an external HDD is faster than the internal. As for resuming, you can resume a game on the Xbox One X. I've done it a few times. I just push the power button and when I turn the system back on the game is ready for me to continue on playing when I launch it.
still doesn't come close to the SS or SX load times and more games run at 60fps on SS plus all next-gen games work on it.
@@Spartan_83 I use an external SSD so the load times are greatly improved. What 'next-gen' games exactly? Most games are enhanced old-gen ports. LOL. It's a fact that the Series S is not a 4K machine. The GPU beats that in the Series S. As for other games, I have a PC for that. Most MS games are available on PC.
You're just trying to justify buying an expensive inferior system. Digital only is STUPID!
@@RetroFan When it comes to loading times the SS still loads several times faster than the one x even with a fast SSD and starting next year we will be getting next gen only games like Starfield and redfall and if not mistaken Scorn, The Medium, and Gotham Knights are all next-gen as well and maybe a few others that I'm forgetting. As far as 4k the One X was mostly a dynamic 4k with only a few native 4k titles and even then they are mostly 30fps while the SS has a lot more titles @ 60fps even if the resolution is only 1080p/1440p in most titles. Witcher 3 on the one x for example has a 60fps mode but can only do so in 1080p and even then it's not stable and is mostly around the 40-45FPS range. I have an SX and PS5 FYI not a SS even though I had one before upgrading to the SX which blows them both out of the water in comparison there is nothing wrong with digital it's a preference and very convenient for many.
DF has a whole breakdown on the One X and SS if you are interested in watching. Both have their cons and pros but the SS gives better performance and higher framerate in most games including the faster load time but if all you care about is older titles and 4k or close to 4k than stick with the one x.
@@Spartan_83 It's still digital only and there's nothing pro about digital only. PS3 & PS2 had fast CPUs, their GPU was still inferior.
I had Xbox One X and there was no way I was going to to the Series S. To me, it would've felt like a downgrade despite faster load times. Furthermore there are some titles on the Series S that are only being displayed at 1080p. For example, Guardians of the Galaxy is 1080p@30fps on the Series S which definitely doesn't seem like next gen to me. I bought it for the PS5 and it looks amazing in 4K. I do still think the Series S is nice, but definitely not a must have.
It's a must have for most if they're unable to get the series x and if they want to get into next generation gaming.
@@HandsomeGadgets I understand. It was a good and informative video..I was faced with this dilemma myself, but made a choice that I'm mostly satisfied with.
Yeah, I wish the series x was more available. Hopefully that'll change soon.
I disagree with you. I wouldn't over look this series s. I sure did and I broke down and bought one. I have been absolutely impressed with this thing. It's so small and this thing is a beast.
I haven't touched my xbox one s since.
Quick resume is amazing. I know it feels like it might be a downgrade but it's really not. I will use this till I can get a series x.
☝️ Yessir
I have owned both of these consoles. I first had a one x but then When the series s came out I was like 😮 and traded my one x in for it. I regretted that after the first week. I miss disk drives and 4K gaming but the series s is also reallly good for when I wanna quickly check something it’ll take like 20 seconds to load up the Xbox and go into the game. In the end both consoles are very unique but in my opinion I like the one x more.
I completely agree On my channel I even put a video .. However I tested all 3 of these Consoles And I literally choose the xbox 1X Even over the Series X .. Due to the fact I literally went out and purchased Like 5 of these things And I've opened them up to understand everything in detail The main board has a Halo symbol Some of them are Scorpion edition And I got all of them on a really good sale Literally got 5 of them for the price of a xbox series X And 2 of them I did a little modification Because the one X Can process a 16TB SSD And I put a Insanely fast ssd that literally It's faster than the xbox series X And yes I got all this stuff on a black Friday deal And none of it even came up to the price of a xbox series X To me the xbox one X Is "Rare" and "Legendary".

But yeah I feel were your coming from.
Having both systems, the series S is better. More features, like auto HDR on most games. The x only x enhanced games.
Thank you for the confirmation 👍
Same my one x just collects dust now! My series x is my go to but when I’m at college I take the series s.
Nice 👍
My One S and X has auto HDR too
@I never apologise agreed, it still has a purpose. I use it for Kinect games I still need to complete. Kinect rivals, dance central spotlight and D4 are not playable on the series. I like the Kinect for voice commands with RUclips and Netflix but I hate how it was forced at the launch.
Keep in mind though that in order to take a vantage of the upscaled graphics or the 120 FPS output, you either have to have a UHD/4K TV or a TV that is 120 Hz. Not everybody has one, but I do know that there are some UHD PC monitors that are compatible, that allow upscaled 1440P.
Yup, you need the TV / monitor that can handle the resolution / fps.
This is why I choose the Xbox One X over the Series S. My tv is a UHD 4K mid level tv, so my tv plays 4K 60fps on the One X.
@@HandsomeGadgets I normally play on Series X, but I just ordered a Series S and a 4k 120HZ Gstory portable gaming monitor with HDR and Freesync. Can't wait! I'm going to turn a Series S into a portable gaming laptop
@@Peculiarsafe83 but you will not get the new generation games unlike the series s, and playing at 120 frames at 2k resolution or even 1080p is better than playing at 4k 30 frames or 60 frames, and also on the series s there is an SSD and cpu much better than on Xbox One x, and this thing will make a big difference in the future, noting that it is possible that support will stop on the Xbox one x in the future as an old generation device, unlike the series S, which will receive support as series X
Not true, even on a 1080p display you will still get a benefit from internal higher resolutions. FPS though, yes, you will need a display that specifically supports 120hz to benefit.
As an owner of a One X & Series S (and Series X actually) I think the XSS is better than the One X. The loading and frame rates are a great upgrade and when games actually utilise the features of the new GPU you see that the graphics can be very good on the XSS.
The storage isn't even an issue as I used to use external drives with my One X, I have them plugged into the XSS and games load faster from there too. Juts keep your old Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Xbox OG games on an external HDD or even better external SSD (they load as quickly as when installed on the internal drive, see Digital Foundry) and they will load quickly and you've got the internal storage for new games.
Even some games which are upgraded (Gen9 aware games) will play from external storage too, so I don't see any issue with the 500gb SSD in the XSS.
Now, with regards to the difference between the XSS & XSX I have the X downstairs with the S as my bedroom console.... but I have to say that the S is a strong performer and will most definitely do for most people, particularly if your purchase is budget driven and you have a smaller TV.
Yessir, you got it down.
Microsoft should remake the Xbox one x with next gen features for quality budget gamers in my opinion
I think they already have with the series s.
No, because the series S is not a 4K console like the one X. The only thing they would need to do is put a different CPU to revamp the one X.
love that Game Pass and backward compatibility can be enjoyed on both consoles! having a blast with Xbox Series S playing GTA IV and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
The One X is a entire different gaming console once you put a internal SSD in it, it becomes the Xbox One X 2.0 increase speeds, frame rates, loading times close to the Series S. It has more Teraflops than the Series S and is more powerful and run games in real 4K not upscaled.
Yes, but even with all that; you're still missing out on quick resume.
@@HandsomeGadgets Xbox One has quick resume, but you cannot do it with two games just one game and some apps.
It's not the quick resume that I'm used to with the series s and x
ssd does not increase frame rates.
@@HandsomeGadgets so basically quick resume is the reason on got it
I just got a One X for €135/$147 at my local GameStop and I can’t complain. Even got the Gold Rush special edition. I’d also recommend to swap out the 1TB HDD with an SSD. 2TB would be great. That may be a bit tricky if you haven’t opened a One X before but there are quite some guides how to open one up and how to replace the hdd and install the firmware.
Is it next gen
@@juliehefte9360 It’s not (released in 2017) but it’s still quite capable.
Yeah I got a Gold Rush as well, and 2TB SSD.. both used and £170 total. It was not too bad to fit the SSD, but it helps if you have worked on laptops / Apple Ipods before. Really happy with it now, and there is some great software for 360 / Xbox one which was updated for 4k... Burnout Revenge, Final Fantasy XIII e.t.c.
Still have xbox one x for almost 5 years still works like a charm
Nice 👍. I'm glad it's still working out for you.
The Xbox One X launched with features ahead of its time. For example, HDMI 2.1, Freesync Premium Pro with LFC and HDR (feature that doubles the frames on the screen with low latency and better colours). So if the GPU is at 30fps, the LFC will set to 60fps, if it is 60fps, it will set to 120fps in the display compatible with this range 30hz-120hz and technology, look, this work only 120hz settings. It also has Dolby Vision, Atmos, HDR10... The One X only need of one SSD to be better and the correct tv to show all power and features. Only in 2023 we have tvs with these technologys and accesive price.
The one x isn’t getting no 120 fps where you get that from that is not a the gpu works it doesn’t stack like that because if that’s the case series s and x can get like 165
The one x can get 4k but it is very weak in performance and get barely crack 30fps on some games
I had never owned an Xbox before so I had no physical games.
Couldn't find a PS5 OR series S so I went with an S and I love it!
Built up a digital library of games when they were on sale.
I'm set for this gen.

Added new thermal pads and cpu thernal paste.. gave me an excuse to get a larger ssd for my PC and tossed in the old 1tb ssd. Runs cool, loads quick and plays games in 4k. Underrated system for sure. Re3 looks better on xbox with my 4k tv than it dows maxed out with ray tracing on my beefed up PC at 2k res 🤷♂️. Would have considered the series S if it came with at least a TB. 512gb is criminal. Plus the 4k blu ray drive.. dont use it much but it's still a benefit and for 1/3 the price.. no brainer.
I got xbox one x project scorpio edition for £130 on Facebook marketplace.....Im so happy verry happy is better than series s and it was brand new
I don't believe it's better than the series s, but you did get a good deal on the one x.
I prefer the Series S since it's faster and much more powerful than the One X. What does it matter that the Series S hasn't got a disc slot? You can still purchase games from the Microsoft Store, right? And plus, you can get select titles like Minecraft, the Minecraft snapshots and the rest of the Minecraft series (other than the 4J Console Edition) for FREE with Game Pass! The One X, despite having 4K at 120fps, still lacks speed and performance, especially when playing Fortnite, but not so much at 1080p at 60fps though. For me, I would prefer to pay for downloads on the Xbox Store rather than go out to a busy shop and wait in a queue for hours for a game disc - I mean sure, there's Amazon, but that *still* takes longer than just simply purchasing a game from the Xbox Store or Game Pass.
Anyways, as I was saying, the Series S does better performance than the One X. Plus, the Series S can run select titles like the Medium or the newest FIFA games whereas the One X can only play games that aren't Series X|S optimised, so games like Minecraft Dungeons run at 30fps on the One X while the Series S can run it at 60fps, while other Series X|S titles like the Medium can not be played at all unless you had the Series S.
If you live in the uk you can get an Xbox one X in CeX for £145 to £160, I bought mine for £145 on Saturday
I have a series x, my first xbox ever and i love it a lot, i always wanted to own an xbox, i was always a PlayStation player, and now i finally have one. I also like series s and xbox one, i think they're also amazing consoles.
Just the fact that this is a debate speaks volumes about the lackluster jump to this current console generation. I'm still rocking my one X. Debated upgrading to series X, but I just haven't seen enough reason to justify it. Maybe if they didn't cripple so many titles so that everything can still run on the S.
To be honest it all really depends on what is your preference if you are one of those people who prefer native 4k graphics you are better off with Xbox One X but if you mostly just care about running most games at 60fps you're better off with the series S since the CPU runs at 3.6 GHz So you have more available 60 FPS performance mode option But no matter how hard you deny it the One X is actually better than the series S When it comes to native 4K graphics and the majority of console gamers will always prefer 4K graphics over 1080p or 1440p or lower 🤮
only 10% of console players actually own a 4k monitor or tv, and 1440p and 1080 both look pretty good. still
@@shingshing8471 Actually that percentage is false It's a lot more than that More than 60% of people who own Xbox One X most likely has a 4K TV I know 1440p and 1080p does look good but to be honest with you ever since I upgraded to a 4k HDR 10 120 Hz 50-in TV 1080p and 1440p is no longer My favorite or preferable resolution now I really only care about those incredible 4K graphics But I do Also take advantage of games that run at 120 FPS on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S But I mostly bring it with me when I travel to other people's homes and really enjoy local multiplayer gaming mostly at 1080p 60fps since I already have some games set up to run mostly at 60fps performance mode 😉👍
I have a ps 5 and series s and honestly the resolution isn't a huge difference deathloop is a great example yes it does look better on ps 5 but the series s still looks as impressive
@@donovancook8897 death loop is definitely one of those games that is incredibly well optimized on Xbox Series S I heard it actually runs at 1440p 2K 60 FPS and the game still looks incredible obviously the PS5 version definitely looks better because it actually renders in 2160p 4k compared to the Series S version but still you have to give arkane studios respect for making a incredibly well optimized game.
I bought the One X solely so i can play Forza Horizon 1 and Forza Horizon 2 because are on disk. Plus the Forza Horizon 3 which is enhanced in 4k.
Nice 👍

You need to make an edit, some games such as Serious Sam 4 you can only cloud game off One X and you have option to install on Series S, but at same time you cross play it from One X to Series S/X, i do feel more newer games will follow this path
Problem with the One X is the rubbish CPU , Had they proportionally improved the CPU as much as the GPU added in an SSD it could have lasted for years longer. As it is now unless you like gaming at 30 fps in just about everything forget it and go with Series S or X. I still have a white One X new in box never opened. I thought it might be worth something one day to someone.
Yup, get into next generation gaming with the series s and x.
@@HandsomeGadgets I was lucky enough to get 2 series X's. One being the Halo model. Amazing console :). I've been in the Alpha program about 3 1/2 years and they are finally starting to add some decent features to Series X at long last. There will soon be an overhaul to the game recording functionality and streaming as well.
Awesome 👍. Looking forward to the recording and steaming update.
can u sell ur one x
? if so what price
Keep that 1X boxed for a few years, will be worth decent money, keep some disk games too, I've got an unopened 1X Scorpio edition 1x Gears Edition, got unopened OG Xbox, Xbox 360, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PS Vita, Gamecube, N64, even a Super Nintendo I paid 2k for, got about 20-30 disks for them each, even if they are worth nothing with Klaus Schwab and his "you'll own nothing and be happy.....or else" bollox I'll be able to game, I've downloaded the day one patches onto USBs same with some of the games, finally picking up a SX on Thursday, over a year of searching, got three PS5's easy enough, not to scalp as they are rodents, one for me, one unopened to keep and got my nephew one , all the best from Ireland, download that patch to ensure your 1X is operable mate and keep it with the console, 10 years and you'll make decent scratch wait 20-30 and you'll make more as the kids playing on them will get a decent job and nostalgia is a drug, blessings from EUSSR Empire occupied Ireland 🇮🇪
I have both I play newer games on my series s and I play my older disc games on one x. Whenever the series X is more readily available I will sell both and buy it
That sounds like a good setup.
I had the Xbox One X and I felt the Series S wasn’t that big of an upgrade so I held out for the Series X. GameStop gave me one hell of a deal to trade in my One X for the series X, so I went for it. If I had the choice between the One X and Series S I would no doubt take the Series S. I’m happy as hell with the Series X however.
I'd choose the series s over the one x every day
@Gary Lococo not that hard to find it’s always on stock on stock x for like $600 bucks
I think if you’re that person who puts games in “quality mode” when the option is available, the One X is the winner. If you choose “performance”, the Series S is for you. For me, I saw Titanfall 2 on Series S (running the One S version), and my mind was made up that my One X was better for me. I then returned the Series S. Since then, I got a Series X, for the best of both worlds and then some. That made the One X the bedroom console :-). Yes, I have a 1TB SSD installed in my One X to reduce that load-time gap significantly (Forza Horizon 4 from 2+ min to ~45 sec).
While I’m skeptical of Cloud gaming, you can now stream Series X games to the One family of consoles via GamePass. It will be interesting to see how a Cloud-streaming Series X version on the One X stacks up against a locally downloaded Series S game on that console.
Yea, the One Xbox X actually kick the Series S'sss as§ in the graphics department, 6TF vs 4TF.
But I must agree the Series S feels smoother and faster. I will however suggest if you can afford the Series X rather go for that or save up until you can buy it, Series X is truly next gen.
It can run 30fps@1440p or 60fps@1080p. One X mostly only 30fps@4k. Even Fh5 only in 30fps 🥲 i dont see a dofference between 4k and 1440p so... And i rather playing on 60fps so i will upgrade btw the Series S scales pretty good up to 4k, ik its not the same but its awesome playing with 300€ console with upscaled 4k and 60fps so :) my opinion
I’d argue that the One X is better, simply because of the disc drive and having access to the second hand market. You swap an SSD into a One X and do the thermal paste over again since it was applied like SHIT from the factory, you have an amazing machine on your hands. Still have to do that to mine, scored it for 250 on eBay last year and I’m not regretting it one bit
Have you had the chance to play some games off the Series S yet?
@@HandsomeGadgets PS5 I did, series s a bit less time, pretty impressive but the lack of a disc drive and locked into the Microsoft store is the dealbreaker for me. Even if they let you plug an external disc drive to play games I’d go for it
Alpha ring will soon have an update for Quick Resume where you can choose title by title whether to enable or disable it too.
Technically in many ways it is superior, beefier GPU, more RAM and with higher bandwidth, more storage and 4K Blu-Ray.
Xbox Series S advantages are faster CPU and storage.
Not really the series s also gets next generation games and features. The one x don't.
the one x is a little better in my opinion. i've played the series s. and yes it gets better games and fps. but my experience on the one x was amazing. actaully my series s crashed my games.
@@Zakurablade I got rid of my 1X to get a SS and at the beginning I felt robbed but its a great little machine, knowing the 1X was doing Halo Infinite at 4k 60 compared to SS 1k 60 really did my head in, then I looked past that and as a legacy gaming machine with fps boost, auto hdr and quick resume its brilliant but I finally managed to get a SX this Thursday, my wife got it for me, thought I'd get rid of the SS but I've grown quite fond of it, poor optimisation on 343's behalf I think because for a £250 machine Forza H 5 looks insane.
@@Captainkanuqlez I agree, I was gutted I got rid of the 1x to get the SS originally but its a great little machine, MS made a mistake not at least matching the 1x's 6tflops, even with the headroom provided by the rdna2 compared to old Jags the 1X was just pure power pushing 4k through, still a technical marvel today and still powerful today 5 years later.
The Series S can actually target native 4k. Ori targets 4k. Also outriders targeted 4k. Im not sure if it still does but it did on release. So it might be uncommon but it’s possible.
It's a powerful little console. But I think you're referring to the upscale to 4k.
@@HandsomeGadgets na look up what ori and the will of the wisp runs at native 4k. It is very rare but it does support native 4k
@@HandsomeGadgets Nah. Ori runs native 4K.
@@HandsomeGadgets it can support native 4k.. typically just on indie titles tho
Cyrsis remastered also runs at native 4k in quality mode on Series S
If someone has a Xbox one or s than the series s upgrade would be good but if someone has a one x than only the series x is worth it
I just wish people start realising that the one x, ps4 pro, ps5, xbox series x all do not run actual native 4k.
The best computers in the world are even struggling in doing high graphics 4k native 60fps, let alone a console with barely half the power.
Then I hope people start realising that native 4k does not matter, like at all.
It's a waste of processing power.
going beyond 1080p the returns in fidelity with increased resolutions start diminishing really quickly,
I play a lot of Forza. And the fast load times on the Series s vs the one x are worth it. And the FPS boosted games
100% agree.
I would like to know why fps boost isn't avalaible for forza horizon titles ? For exemple fh3 doesen't have that feature.
I'm guessing the newer one, so digital not disks
Not knocking on anybody. But a lot of these videos don't touch on something important if you collect and play previous gen games from the backwards compatibility list.
Many of them do not have a digital version to buy. Also for the 360, many Game of the Year or Platinum Hits versions have DLC on a disc. With these consoles, you still need to pop in that DLC disc to "verify" you own the DLC. Really defeats the purpose of having an all digital console that can play backwards compatible games. The console doesn't install the content from disc, instead it downloads a version it's compatible with from the game store.
Because of this not well thought out feature, you have to either buy all your DLC digitally again or have that disc. The first might not be viable if the DLC was delisted from the market place.
Also this is a headache even if you own the base game digitally. You still have to pop in the DLC disc to verify and play that content either way.
It might be a niche problem for most. But I'm a serious gamer with an extensive collection.
People like myself run into these issues with newer consoles. That's why most of us held on to our 360s or haven't upgraded.
I'm choosing quality over speed. What's the point of faster load times if I cannot play all my games. I have not had a need uograde since both consoles have access to the same games.
For me, the Series S is a step backwards for me if it's only offerings are new games and faster load times and backwards compatibility is implemented poorly.
For me a Series X would bw the only console worth the upgrade. The Series S is targeted to a much different consumer.
I've been thinking about buying the One X for a few weeks now since the series X is constantly sold out, if anything, I'm really purchasing One X for the 4K blu ray upgrade which my Xbox one doesn't have, series S sounds like it's great in terms of speed, performance and cheap price cost, but it has no disc drive
Yeah, if you need a disc drive; then the series s isn't for you.
Same. Already order a one x from ebay. I was considering a series s but no disc drive put me off. I’m not a hardcore gamer, not too interest in next gen library either. Rather spend $5 to buy used game then spent $40-$70 to buy digital game.
@@closetjimi and that's the saving grace of a disk drive 😂
230 dollars pre-owned console is that better deaL or not
The backward compatibily xbox 1 games on the series s run the regular one version or they get the same resolution boost like the one x?
No series s runs the xbox One code! The series X uses the one x code!
@@Jinkyuu1999 thx, I guess then I should save more money for a ps5/series x
@richiboy6546 Yeah, if you have a 4k tv already! If you don't care about physical disc and have 1080p tv, a series s should be fine. Cool, though you won't regret either purchases!
The not having a disc slot is the turnoff for me on it
I see.
i still do not understand people that want to stick to one X knowning that many of the new games coming out next years and from now on, most of them are just gonna be Next Gen and won't be able to buy them for the One X, i love the xbox one x, i had one for 2 plus years but remember the are gonna be new games coming out every years and some are gonna be even more optimizes for next gen consoles, not old ones
Series s cant quite scatch the itch youre left with after playing a one x but the series x sure can. Im happy as hell I got the series x and s. The s just goes with me when I travel. I love it for its portability.
Yup, the series s is very portable. I have the perfect way to travel with it 😉. Stay tuned for that video to release in a few weeks.
@@HandsomeGadgets its already portable for me. I just hook it up to a tablet that has a micro hdmi port 🥳
True, but I have something cooking that you might like.
@@HandsomeGadgets what might that be?
Stay tuned 😉
Hi , am a fan from Egypt ! thanks for the video it was really helping but am confused here ...am using already one x considering my TV is NOT 4k , the question here , if i get a series s or even x , shall i feel any difference ? am talking here specifically about the graphics quality and textures
Great question. Yes, you'll notice the difference immediately while playing recent AAA titles.
so in most peoples eyes i committed sin by trading my One X for a Series S because I wanted new gen features with faster speeds. i had one disc game while the rest of my library was already on Digital. plus I got a external storage drive so the storage problem was solved. and I have a 1080p monitor anyway so the 4k feature I didn’t want (for now). and Series S is WAY more available than the X. i will get an X one day but for now, I’ll enjoy my new console. i think Series S will have a positive impact in the community.
Not in my 👀. I think the series s is an AMAZING deal and it's the easiest way to get into this console generation.
now add a SSD to the one x, it wont be far behind the series S! first thing i did was swap the 1TB HDD to a 1TB SSD, huge difference on the one X! game changer infact
I have my series s sitting in top of my one x, they both get used. I only have warzone and forza horizon 5 on it and all the other random games for my one x , they both look and play great, my series s is much faster at loading up games and apps
im in iran and i can't buy 4k monitor or tv so series s is best option ( wa can't even buy much disc )
dude the one x is cuality i had the series s sold it im looking 4 the one x
My one x was 160 £ at cash converter
Put a solid state drive inside that 1X and run those loading tests again.
I only use my products, as is. But it still wouldn't offer quick resume.
@@HandsomeGadgets Oh I know, but i still should vastly improve the installation and game loading, boot up, ECT.
Nah bro on the timing on Xbox one x the timing you said was you can go to the bathroom take a walk eat some food and it will still be loading nah my brother that's what we call GTA 5
Its better than the One S im sure
So did I mess up giving my series s up and buying a 1x
yep because games not going being supported like baulder gate 3
I believe so.
Okay... Why would you buy a Series S that has an NVME drive just to downgrade to a SATA drive for your games... When you could buy a One X and buy that same SATA drive (or even a SATA SSD) and get the same speeds as you would on the Series S? (SATA is capped at 5 GBit on both devices).
Also, the One X does have performance modes in any and all Xbox One X Enhanced games to run at 1080p60. Is it as good as 1440p120? No. Will many gamers care? Doubt it.
Also also, the DVD drive can also play Blu-Rays on the One X so...
Thinking of buying one x even though it is a previous gen console. I am buying it only because that I have alot of physical stuff.
How come you won't try to get a Series X?
@@HandsomeGadgets Budget issue !
I see. Then the one X will work better for you.
I should've kept my One X and PS4 Pro instead of trading them in to buy the Series X and PS5. Should've bought the last two straight up no trade in.
Load times are gonna be higher since it is putting out something around 4k than the series s putting out 1440
This is all assuming you take a bad deal on the One X. I bought my one X for 150EURO. This changes everything.
Not really. The video is to compare both as they stand.
The One X is Xbox One architecture for its chipset. Internally adding an SSD & giving the One X an update could actually have quick resume, and the new features.
However if they dont develop for it Xbox One games it wont get new games sadly.
The One X fell into a hard place. Really they should have just added the series S into the One X shells.
I can personally when I was an Xbox user and had the one X vs the series S. Cyberpunk as an example.
The Series S looked like crap. It would run around 780 vs 1440p and it looked so different on a 4K TV.
The Series S can handle some games better than others it rarely would hit the target of 2K.
It usually would be 60FPS & 1080. Then if you chose 120FPS the resolution would jump between 740-1080.
It felt like a downgrade honestly from the One X.
Especially how the One X handles lighting, 4K, and dynamic ranges of color.
The Series S would get to hot and shut down.
I cant speak for series X.
dont care bout resume or loading i care bout the video card
Where are you finding them segate for $100$? I've only seen them for about 199$ or so, if you know the link to that Amazon page lmk cause I can't seem to find it
Yes, I put direct links to all the products I feature in the video description section. Here's the direct link

Dude 1440p is 2.5k. 2k is 1080p. They take the name from the top row of pixels. Also the xbox series S can do native 4k on games that are not as demanding i.e. The tourist
I just returned a series s… rubbish. Doesn’t matter if it loads quick and has a slightly better textures the games look terrible. Felt like i was on an original xbox one. Its blurry as anything. Fifa is awful. The inly game that looks nexr gen is forza 5. If you like fps and faster load times then yes it good for that but then you suffer even more tonplay in performance mode. Having most games run in 1080p makes it unplayable in my opinion for a “next gen”. Also finding the games are more expensive on the store compared to the ps? Once the series x comes abit cheaper il be getting one of them instead for now ive just got a one x off ebay for half the price of the series s that will do me until then.
What monitor / tv were you playing it on?
@@HandsomeGadgets 65 inch LG OLED a year old
Interesting 🤔. I heard that Fifa doesn't run well on anything. But I don't have the same issue with my 65 in 4k 12hz Vizio TV. The series s and x look and run great on it.
@@HandsomeGadgets i dunno i just didnt like the image. Much happier with the one x. Can see its potential as forza horizon 5 was a dream on it its a shame other games didnt look that good but horizon 5 even looks great on the one s
How is most games on the Xbox series that run 1080 P make it unplayable for you 1080 P doesn’t look blurry it doesn’t show pixels if you’re sitting far away from your TV or even 6 feet away so I don’t understand why a lot of people complain that oh the series just doesn’t have 4K no nothing is more powerful than the series as brand-new or even used for 299 not even a PC 1080 P looks really good and clear not as great as 4K but if you’re sitting far away 1080 P does look very clear it doesn’t look blurry at all it looks very good and fun so why are you complaining about I’m confused I just want you to enjoy NexGen gave me I’m here to help you out
I love Xbox S. Its my first console and does great.
Awesome 👍. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
I’m an Xbox series S owner and I love it I really don’t care about the old Xbox one x
Nice 👍. I'm glad it's working out for you.
I just have the regular xbox
Awesome 👍
I've been gaming on series S since launch just recently bought 1tb storage it's basically a digital series x now 🤷
As the owner of the XSS (also the xbox 360), i think that the XSS is better than the XOX bc the XSS runs faster and as it says that this console has 120 FPS, its is way easier to play, but i dont know which has more RAM so please, can you guys reply me in the comments and tell me? Thx :)
For me the series S is a pointless move sideways. The load times on the one x doesn't bother me in the slightest. If you want 4k gaming then why would you go for the series S? You can put an SSD in the one x cheap and easy enough anyway. Some of us grew up with spectrums so waiting 60seconds for a game is no hardship whatsoever.
I traded my ps4 pro for a really great condition 2nd hand one x from my local game store... I got it for £160.. i chose the X over series s because of the 4k blue ray movies & disc drive... which opens up a world of pre-owned xbox360 & one game discs from as little as £2, your not reliant on MS store sales and strange website game codes... Plus the Raw graphical power on the one X over series s..
I tradedmy ps4 because...
game pass is much cheaper than sony.. xbox is also a brilliant media hub, with fantastic audio codecs.. PlayStation is just a games console, Sony are now putting their games on Steam & PC... the xbox controller uses AA batteries.. which last longer and are 1000x cheaper and are easier to manage and replace than Sonys controller battery packs... However, i do prefer ps4 controllers.. but to me, the series s just didnt seem worth it over the one x.. i made a good choice
Still a brilliant upgrade xbox one x is a beast but I kept my ps4 Pro and got xbox one x Scorpio edition for 180 from game brilliant deal and still have it along with my ps4 Pro and ps5
Is the series S an upgrade over the fat PS4? Because im planning to buy
100% IT IS!
Switch to Series S/X to play newer games like Jedi Surivor, Dead Space and RE4 remakes.
Xbox one x 30 fps sub par performance at 4k, series s 1080p/1440p 60/120hz, only real gamers prioritize fps over eyecandy, series s owner here, more than pleased
I'm glad you're enjoying the series s.
Series Shit owner lmfao. Series S BARELY handles 1080p 60fps. 1440p 120fps is just bs marketing🤡 look at all the games that have come out recently all 1440p 30FPS max (ps4 pro and one X did this better 6 years ago already) and if you want 60fps performance resolution goes down to 900p-1080p in 2022 LOL! Sorry but its trash compared to ps5 or series X. I’d rather save $100 for a real next gen console like ps5 digital or $200 for a series X instead of wasting my money on a mediocre cheap digital only with a laughable 360GB of storage pos.
Mate your so called 'real gamers' wouldn't touch a Series S... 😂😂😂
@@1010thechamp bro just defending the series s cause it does have a better cpu than the Xbox one x, Real given facts, I also have multiple game pc's and a series x, wich my wife uses more than I am, And real gamers prefer a higher framerate(another fact)
@@jamanitsme Yeah sure really gamers prefer higher fps for sure... but still they wouldn't touch a Series S though.
this may be true but the X1X cant play some next gen titles without cloud gaming. so your X1X can't play (Scorn, the new Deadspace remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake (maybe)) since these are X|S only titles. this means more next gen games might not be able to play on the X1. I actually have the X1X and super sad right now cause am at a region where cloud gaming aint possible. so i have no choice but to switch up to the Series S. but cant they make the next gen backward compatible? i mean seriously can they
Same case for me
The xbox one x is totally better the only issue is microsoft was smart enough to put a sdd in the one x or a hybrid drive at the very least.
Finally was waiting for this one since the day you bought one x
Awesome 👍. I'm glad I was finally able to get it done lol
If you add that same portable external hard drive to the one x, you get the fast load speeds like the series s. But I think you already know that. 🧐
😂
the only reason the one x stands strong is the disc drive for me
This gen is more about FPS and in that respect the S blows the previous gen out of the water.
Let be real would rather deal with load times than low storage on xbox series s
That's your prerogative.
@HandsomeGadgets plus the xbox one x has more ram than the xbox series s
No doubt, the Series S has ray tracing technology other than that the Xbox one X has more computational power
The series S is more powerful. CPU wise. But the One X has incredibly more powerful GPU. The series S also has a stupid past SSD. So it really depends on what you want to do
Bro should i buy xbox x or xbox one x i want to play upcoming gta 6 ? Which one should i buy ? Xbox one x (2017) can run gta 6 ? Tell me what do you think
I'm not sure that gta 6 will be released on previous generation hardware.
The one x will run at 120 hz at 1080p with a monitor that supports that frame rate
Microsoft should have just put a disc drive in the series S so we could play old disk games that we have. Some games are not available on game pass. Even some new games are not available and you have to pay full price and cant get a cheaper used disc. That all adds up. I might save some money and just go series x.
There has to be some difference between the two to keep the price down. But if you need a disc drive, the series s isn't the console for you.
Series S is a gamepass machine ... And for that purpose alone it's fantastic , I keep my old 360 for og Xbox/360 titles I'm sorted ... I upgraded from base Xbox one and I'm now enjoying No Man's Sky at frame rates above 15 😂
OR RIP APART THE TWO AND COMBINE THEM TO GET THE BEST OF THE BOTH
