First time I see this guy. He's very good. He actually commented on seat grip during cornering, which is almost never mentioned. Other reviewers spend half the time rattling stuff from the brochure.

Buttons need to make a comeback in cars, what is the point of multiple or large TV's in cars?
Time flies buddy and being a mercedes, they should always be in trend.

No they don't. Why would anyone want a million buttons? If that's what you want, go get a car from 20 years ago. Screens are much better.

Full touch controls are so unintuitive and is a huge step backwards. I tried using the Audi dual screen and it is leagues more difficult and distracting vs their levers and knobs.
That what happens when they try to imitate Tesla without good software…
Right, you can press physical buttons and knobs without having to look down once your familiar with the car. With touch you have to take your eyes off the road
thank god for Lexus still stickig to physical buttons
And the buttons they did put in were moulded from one long cheap piece of plastic. MB are probably laughing all the way to the bank from all the money saved on machining tooling for plastic parts. Sad.
How much time did you spend in that Audi?
For those who keeps complaining about the The C class being similar to the S class. You guys should recheck the history, the C class has always been the mini S class for ages. Checkout W203 C class vs W220 S class and obviously the W205 vs W222 s class.
What's wrong with the C-class being similar to the S-class anyway?

Its competitors are: bmw 3 series and Audi A4. We don't really consider the jaguar as a competition when you look at sales....just my opinion

I've been driving my W206 (200 4matic) since January 2022 - i did'nt go completely overboard with extras, and i've been extremely happy with everyday commutes and weekend trips. My only 'negative' would be the touch-volume controls. Having driven the W213 (E-Class) beforehand, i do miss a more haptical volume-"cylinder"-control) ;-)

Yeah, probably the best interiors in the business (when not considering reliability and such). Not to mention, they're really intuitive despite having capacitive touch buttons

You should, the Giulia is the one I would take in a heartbeat, out of the C-Class, 3 Series, A4, etc.
Good review and well-done video. I wish we had in the states all the choices of estates and hatched that you Brits enjoy. Instead we just get more and more SUVs flooding the roads in all shapes and sizes, most of which are just hard to see around. What I would give to drive the new Audi A3 hatch here, the new Hyundai i30 or C-Class estate.

@@numbereightyseven my parents have 2016 W222 S350 the boot mechanism failed and the boot didn’t choose… Mercedes came out and fixed…. The other time we had a slow puncture and the tyre was flat in the morning they sent a tow truck and picked up the car…. From my personal experience their aftersales experience has never been a problem… to add to this we didn’t even buy the car at that dealership

First time seeing you review, very impressed.
Agree re "shonky" button bar. The touch points in ANY car are the bits we relate to, the areas we come into physical contact with, dozens of times a day/week. This is what we feel we are paying extra for, over and above volume cars...Mercedes are along with Audi and BMW, volume car OEM's, whether they recognise it or not. What would it cost to make these buttons individual, rather than on one elongated bar?. Twenty/thirty/fifty pounds per car?. I'd be happy to pay that to get the premium experience this now lacks. Now I'm interested to find out where else they have cut corners quality wise.
I much prefer the BMW approach of making different cars in different segments actually, you know different...
That avoids these hideous plastic things on the bumper and those embarrassing tailpipes too.

I think if they kept some of the tactile elements of the temp control, seats, and a few of those buttons. This would’ve been a home run.

I've always had a soft-spot for Mercedes, especially their 'smaller' models - I even loved how brilliantly clever and well-packaged the original A-Class was... ride quality aside...!
Anyhow, yes - this C-Class looks fabulous and I'm glad they've kept with the focus on comfort, rather than trying to be an "ultimate driving machine"... Suits their style better, plus the dreadful state of the UK road network.

Have always been a fan of these cars, had decided my next car will be a lease car and not bought outright like I usually do. Was think of an E class, but this thing seems to be really classy and you will not have that issue of being mistaken for a cabbie!!!

Man, Mercedes' interiors are seriously the best in the business! (Yeah I know physical buttons would be better but other than that it's great)
I love the look of them c class but the side of my leg is always up against the side of the console . The 3/series always have a nice open space with none of the closed in area .

I'm sure it will look great, just wish it had V8 Hybrid rather than 4 cylinder hybrid. Still with over 640 peak horse power, it will be a beast.

Nearly all nice things you mentioned are expensive extras which you sometimes only can buy in a package. I built a C-Class and with all nice extras the starting price nearly doubled.

Do they supply enough fibre cloth to keep that "tablet" on the center control clean? Give it a few years and km and the rattles and squeaks will come like the pervious version.

Exterior is very nice , looks like a slightly sportier s class ,interior appeals to the masses but I do think the 3 series interior is better as its clean and stylish and is preferred by driving enthusiasts
No way. The 3 series interior looks 5 years outdated when compared to this C class.
I don't like the exterior styling. It's not bad but I prefer the previous look.

Great review, I prefer this base interior to the AMG, way more tasteful. This review convinced to upgrade from my W205 to W206 instead of switching to BMW.
Get yourself a 3 series, it'll be more reliable and more functional.

Everything is great until interior starts creaking on highway
10kms in on my AMG that was the case.., kinda makes you feel robbed.
Well people focus on screens and lights and fancy dash design, but forget it’s a car for x years to come. Reliability of the German cars is horrible since some time now.
Gotta buy AMG line only, no SE

Sport is better IMO. Better to have the option of comfort as well as sporty as and when you need. Just don’t bother with the c200 engine size is too small for the size of the car. I could be wrong and each person has their own opinion, I love my sport and love that I have the options instead of being in a slightly too sporty AMG.

It really is a beautiful car and it drives like a charm. I received ours (C300e) last week to replace our W205 C class (C220d), couldn't be happier
