They need to trim their lineup they have so many models. I can't think of a car manufacturer that has more models than Mercedes.
It’s gorgeous, I do think the previous gen E class coupe amg line is one of the most beautiful coupes ever designed and slightly better looking IMO
Totally agree with you, especially from the rear and the interior looks more premium, probably has a longer wheelbase as well
S coupe was most beautiful yes But if we compare what they replaced this with, the previous E coupe was def better looking. This seems like a downgrade in many ways. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I like this shape more. The E Class Coupe had a sort of bulkiness to it. Still beautiful though.

They gave a space for C class owners and sportiness for E class owner, but failed with Price Tag for both.

@@basedpatriotLT They stretched a C over the size of the old E Coupe. Interior is based on the C. Price is to close to the new E.
I would like if they build a car, the size of the old C Coupe, but with the Interior options of an E-Class. These doors are just too long for any parking spots on a daily basis.

If you're in for a cheap CLE, take a look at CLC 350 V6 3.5L Kompressor. It's around 10k, lesser known, usually way better maintained than similar coupes.
This is a CLA/CLS coupe. I don't see how any E class coupe owners see this as better looking than the current variant. Absence of a B pillar in the E class coupe makes them unique and elegant, especially when you have the windows down. Overall decent looking coupe but one not worth the discontinuation of the E class for.
Now a coupe of the W214 would have been something spectacular.
Genuinely my biggest issue with the car is the B pillar, I don't understand why mercedes would get rid of the E coupe for this
Conversely, my biggest issue with the old E-Class Coupé was the little extra plastic pillar behind the rear windows. I prefer this just because it hasn't got one of those@@sajjeel123

spot on I wouldn't trade in my e53 for this... this is basically a c class in e class size.
All the e class luxury features went missing such as massaging seats or suede headliner
Those fake exhausts, vents and diffuser are unforgivable!
More fake things, more cost, less emotion. This thing is worse than last series coupes in any way.
That sucks that the rear windows don't go down. Pillarless windows is a classic Mercedes trait.

The side profile is stunning, so is the front. The back is debatable but overall it’s a nice looking car.

It looks fantastic. The wheels even more so. The rear fake alloy tips are for aesthetic & whilst I don’t like purposeless things on a car, that rear end is awesome!. I wish I had the money because it absolutely up my alley I love mid size tear drop coupes and 350GT skyline is similar in kooks. Hopefully Merc will crank it up with AMG- but this is a great mid sized car as is.
I'm a bit torn on the design of the new Mercedes Benz CLA Coupe. 🤔 The front has that classic, stylish appeal reminiscent of the previous C-Class Coupe, which I love. However, when it comes to the rear, it feels like a departure from the cohesive design, appearing somewhat flat and lacking the excitement of their new electric cars. It's like they had two different design teams working on each end. What do you all think about this interesting design contrast?
Really like Rory's reviews. This looks like the CLA at the back and the front, which isn't a bad thing. Not sure how much fun it would be to hustle round a UK country road though.
Lovely coupé, glad they brought back the CLK, it’s a clever formula.
Shame that we are unlikely to see a V8 engine on any trim like the old models had. I bet that if they release an AMG it will be a lite version (43 or 53).
One thing is certain, we won’t see many of them on the streets.
Nothing E about this. Its just a C coupe and should have been named as such. No pillarless windows is an absolute tragedy. The 2018 E coupe bodyshape with the two lines LED headlamps will always be the most beautiful E class coupe created. Even the midcycle facelift ruined it with just the two dots on the headlamps.

Luckily it has absolutely nothing to do with the CLA. Chassis, drivetrain, interior etc. Is 0% CLA. Only the headlights remind me of it which is ok.

It doesn’t have a long back light because that’s for the EQ line. I have the 2023 eqe suv 350 4matic and it is incredible!
You know what i love? It's a nice 6 pot engine in a normal car not an AMG. Looks great too!
Set the sound system into surround sound and it’ll activate the headrest speakers. The 15 speaker system in the C class is 11 constant playing and 15 playing with active surround.

I wish Mercedes would bring back the S class coupe. It was the quintessential gt. And if it looked anything like this, albeit bigger, more muscular and of course more opulent, it would be a real crowd pleaser.

Mercedes have certainly shown inconsistency towards their coupes during the past 30 years. CL was originally applied to their renamed S and E Class coupes, when they became CL and CLK, and then to their 4 door coupes (CLS and then CLA). The 2dr coupes’ names went back to sharing model names with their saloon counterparts around 10 years ago while CL stayed, and remains, for the 4dr coupes. And despite its name the CLS is a 4dr coupe counterpart of the E-Class. And let’s not forget the CLC, which was a renamed, facelifted C-Class Sports Coupe.
Moving to the CLK which, while supposedly marketed and priced as a E-Class coupe and shared similar design cues, were based on the smaller and cheaper C-Class’ architecture. And now we have this CLE, a car which has more in common with the C-Class’ version of the MRA2 platform and shares that car’s interior and wheelbase, but will no doubt be priced more as a E-Class coupe to reflect its name. Just like the CLKs.
But all that aside, the CLE looks fabulous!

How do you feel it compares when it comes to driving to an Audi S4/S5 with rear sport differential?
I just traded my 2021 E-Class Coupe for this. It was delivered last week, and in person, it looks amazing. Other than the B-pillar, everything else feels like an upgrade. I also don’t mind the interior design now that I've gotten used to it. It's used in most of their models, and I feel like it's more modern than the E-Class Coupe and much better than the hyper/super screen.

A beautiful car, in a traditional sense. My only grumble is the rear lights strip, looks too close to the Smart styling.

What's the hype around fake exhaust every car journalist has, I mean what difference does it make.... what will change if there are actual exhaust pipes in them... it's just someday a journalist decided to hate it and everyone followed him blindly

Nice ND Sub, suits you like a glove. Car's alright, but the 2017 E coupe it replaces looks much better to me, more classy and elegant.
One point of the fake exhaust holes is that the actual exhaust plumbing is protected if the bumper gets bashed in a low speed fender bender.

I do miss the B-pillerless CLK. That one is still brilliant looking.

CLK 1997 had the B pillar. They listened and it was gone by 2003.
So there is perhaps hope.

Wow !!!! Love the design and the profile is genius. It looks like doesn't have a b pillar then you open the door and it's there..the only thing I didn't like was that rear lights don't connect as a light bar and on the bottom: the fake exhaust outlets

I would love if they would build a smaller coupe on a C-Class lenght, with highclass interior options like the new E-Class cockpit.
They did it, the whole way around..
It's unfortunate the interior is based off the c class instead of the e class + it comes with b pillar. I was seeing what I'd replace my 21 e coupe with but now I'm uncertain.

With reference to the missing headrest speakers. This is one thing that scares me when ordering any new factory build; are we going to actually get all the options and extras we pay for!?! Used cars or "existing stock" avoids this problem because you can view it before buy, but I always prefer new factory builds.
This is going to be a future classic like the CLK.

Great job as always Rory. Between This, the A5 and 4 Series, I'd take the 4 series. This is a good start for Merc though, In a few model generations, this will be sexier than the M4 (If they man up and stop making cars that look like they're for house wives)
Now look at the CLE53. M4 is nothing against it (just from the looks)

Amazing design! Most of the mercedes refreshes as of late have left a lot to be desired. I'm glad they tried something a little more daring!
Feels like a baby of my S Class coupe. Similar design features. Priced to make it more affordable, which is good. Must consider the practicalities of a two door, that does not easily work that well for everybody. Great looking car though.
why they discontinued the S63 AMG is still baffling me...and you're right it is a looks more of a baby S Class coupe that an E or C class😉
Everything looks good. Colors and the whole design are perfect.
I'd wish the interior would be non-digital-touchy cheap and boring, would like to operate through fine knobs and well weighted buttons. Also whats with these piano black inlays still? Open pore satin wooden inlays or brushed aluminium are so much more classy.

As a former E Class coupe owner, no...this isn't the kind of interior/exterior E class owners gravitate towards. I just see it as a C-Class coupe.

It‘s not E class price. The price is exactly relating the same to the c sedan as the previous c coupe
