It's a pity that the design is the only good thing about this car. By all accounts, it shouldn't cost more than 200K dollars, because it's just a Mercedes with a different design. At the same time, Aston Martin is in many ways inferior to Mercedes. Especially if it breaks down or gets into an accident...
That moment you realize AutoTrader has surpassed Top Gear in both production quality and their presenters. Love having you back, Rory. Reviews like this make me glad you are no longer with the disgrace that is left after the BBC ruined Top Gear forever. Now we all get to enjoy what you are truly capable of.
their crew, pre and post production, are excellent for the short video segment.. Rory is great as he can cross cultures easily, doesnt try to be anything other than himself.. even with what Im sure are pre production scripts etc. the facial expressions, the passion, the joy or concern all come thru naturally..

Some might overlook the importance of beauty in a car but it is truly very important, since i can’t afford a supercar i notice it with motorcycles, to look at you vehicle in the garage or parked outside the coffee shop and to think “what a piece of art, I’m so proud of my vehicle” really fills one’s soul

The fact that Rory caught two ergonomic flaws is a big deal, not just spitting out facts that make the car look good, thus appeasing Aston Martin. Those 2 flaws might seem small and mundane, but they can affect the comfort and driving experience

I'm not sure how much of the review is written before hand... But I got to say that I really enjoyed how laid back and relaxing this video came out of the final edit.
The subtle changes to design makes this a beautiful car over the DB11. Previously, I found the DBS (2008 to 12) and Vanquish (pre 2018) to be stunning. The DB12 is the design evolution (interior and exterior) that Aston Martin needed. Rory's review was top notch as usual.
agree, DB12 is more sporty and modern, suitable to young generation than classic on other version.
What a beautiful car, finally worthy against rivals because of the interior upgrade. Such a shame that the V12 is not an option anymore.
Why? The V8 makes more power and is lighter. It doesn’t sound worse either. V12s aren’t glorious unless they are NA so you can here them and high revving. The prior V12 was neither
@@ludda42 Because to me a V12 is synonymous with AM, and the DB11 sounds glorious. It also suits the character of the car, and I’m simply saying it would be great to have both engine options.
Apparently, an insider has given one of the other reviewers a hint that a V12 will be put in it. Probably limited edition, though.

For me if you drive an Aston you've got to have some James Bond theme music to get thoset emotions flowing. However probably the musical rights make it a non starter. Shame though 😔

Car companies should hire Rory as a consultant to help them build even better cars. This guy knows what he is talking about.
I've seen several excellent reviews of the DB12 now, all shot beautifully, but this one is the best in terms of info and highlighting the key points. No mucking about, just data and an honest empirical perspective. Plus, it's the only review with a glimpse of the rear seats. Great job!

idk if people think its racist or an odd comment. but its really nice to see a lovely black man present me a car, while being so cool and well put together. its a breath of fresh air from what the media pumps in my face about black people.
Aston Martin really are at the top of their game at the moment. Every car they've churned out in the last couple of years is simply brilliant. And from a wider British perspective, British marques are really producing some belters at the moment.
It's also helping things along nicely that the F1 team is doing quite well do, giving them some additional great positive publicity.
I love British cars but I am not sure they can keep up with the Germans and the Italians..

Great video as always Rory, I totally agree on the air vents and buttons for the heated seats, hate those touch sensitive buttons, I do disagree about the paddle location though, I’d say they’re better attached to the wheel so you don’t have to take your hands off the wheel while driving vigorously to change gear. It’s strange when I first saw the silhouette of the DB12 I thought it looked like the demon love child of a Jag and a modern mustang, looks far elegant in the flesh.
The new DB12 is stunning...I really like it. Nice vid too.

There are a number of reports on the DB12 now the journalist have got their hands on it, this is the best. Great report and amazing car. AM have really moved their game on with this car, maybe there is hope for the future after all.

Rory, you've got what I call a dream job, mate. And you're quite great at it. Although this DB12 is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever laid my eyes on but I feel it looks like what a DB11 707 would've looked like if it existed. Kinda like what AM did with the interiors of DB11 & DBS Superleggera. But the interior is quite a big step for AM. I'm sure most of AM's fans were slightly put off by their interiors but this one --- they really went to town 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
I almost ordered this car until I noticed there's only one cup holder for the front occupants. Well, I'll stick to my 20 y/o Opel Astra then 😀

Top Gear will always live in the shadow and chemistry of Clarkson,Hammond and May .... If Reid, Harris and Hume can as a trio demonstrate similar chemistry then yes I agree with you.

Dream brand, dream car. Ever since I was little, I've wanted an Aston Martin, and with each new one, that doesn't change.
I'm not really into "supercars" and 800, 900, 1000 horsepower cars.
This is more my love in cars.
I wouldn't buy a Lambo, or a ferrari, but I'd buy an Aston without a second guess. Or a Maserati, Bentley, Lexus.
Maybe cars like the Honda NSX, or Audi R8, but that's about it when it comes to the low to ground, supercar esque.
Other than that I'd be more inclined to buy a Hyundai I30N, or a Ford Focus ST, even an Abarth, or a luxury SUV with higher horsepower, to go with the Aston, or Maserati, haha.
Buy a 2022 Honda Si and be happy bro

I’m a huge Aston fan and I love this, I just wish they had done a bit more to the rear end to differentiate it from the DB11. It’s not ugly it’s just not quite different enough. Anyway, probably nitpicking, I’d definitely upgrade from my Vantage to this, stunning car and all the reasons I wouldn’t have bought a DB11 are now resolved.
It is about time that Aston stepped up with their interiors and they did an excellent job indeed. The production quality of this video is exceptional as is, of course, Rory's delivery, data, and cadence. Hats off!

Looks like a cross between the DB11 and the old DB9. Which is no bad thing. They probably realised their newer design language wasn't really working out for most of the audience.
