No offense, but your height is not really a realistic and therefore good standard to make assumptions about the knee room.
And in this case it's even worse since the new Q6 lacks in good knee room despite being a brand new EV.
I am 6.2 and if I adjust the front seat to my driving position I hardly have any knee room left in the rear.
Actually there is considerably more space in the rear in the much shorter Q4 for some reason and even in the Q5.
So the packaging of the Q6 is not really good considering the exterior and interior length.

    Shaking my head.
£93,000 or for us folk in the United States, that's 117,615$
WHO CAN AFFORD such things!!! Clearly these are LEASE ONLY vehicles.
Also, I can't wait until Audi starts incorporating some of the Rivian's technology into their vehicles.
If Audi starts using some of Rivian's hub motors for their all wheel drive systems then we'll start to see some faster 0 to 60 kph/mph times and some serious off road prowess. Of course this well come at a SATILLITE high price point!!

    • @J_Starr007
      @J_Starr007 3 месяца назад +5

@adriancooper78 no one is taking an Audi Q6 off road, no one's taking an Audi anything off road.. I think it's safe to say that's the last thing Audi is looking to do. And Rivians haven't been out long enough to even be able to determine if any of their technology is worth being adopted and adapted to any car/truck from any brand, especially Audi.

The Audi Q6 is a bit too slick to go off the road. The VW group did send 2 Audi's to Rivian to adapt their zonal architectural structure to their vehicles. Isn't that one of the reasons why VW is investing some 5 billion dollars into Rivian?

They have everything going for them: subsidies, sun, cheap electricity, big SUV EVs, .. and still. It's a terrible sign. Just to clarify: I'm not against EVs. I live in mainland Europe in a big city in an apartment, and we don't have enough parking spaces as it is - let alone some dedicated to charging. It's just not gonna pick up, unless the governments spend tons of money making EVs the most expensive piece of crap there is.

@@drunkenwhiskeyeu I Tend to disagree. I live in Portugal, I charge my car every night comfortably in my garage, and I know no one that moved from an electric to a combustion engine again. I spend 74€ in electricity with my Tesla performance (514hp), I make 100km a day and believe-me I drive fast, if I'm to do the same 100km with my other car Z4 35is FBO I would be spending 646€ in petrol, adding the maintenance cost and taxes you know were Im getting... It would be only foolish to swap batteries for petrol with these numbers.
As of not having a place to charge, near your home, I'm guessing you don't make 100km per day driving from home to the office, an EV with 500km of autonomy would last you, with a single charge, for a week. Take the kids to Mcdonalds once a week and problem solved 🤗

Audi are only selling this car though Audi directly in the UK. The dealers can’t offer a discount on a new one. Even if you buy in the showroom it’s sold via Audi not the dealership. The dealership just gets a sale fee. However it will be interesting to see if a dealer buys one for full price from Audi and then sells it at a loss two months later, sounds like a good way to go bust.

I usually love your reviews, Alex, but in this one you either missed the point once or twice, or intentionally didn't mention the problematic bits. The first one is the lack of legroom in the back seat! If you are a 180-186cm tall guy, you will have virtually zero room left (as the other reviewer in 4K, full length and full screen showcased); secondly, the friggin screen is terrible to work with while driving - lack of buttons. And thirdly, piano black everywhere? Goddamn fingerprints magnet.
For this price it's ridiculous. It's still just an Audi with Chinese technology (battery, e-motors too I think).. 100k GBP? Ridiculous. I'll wait 6 to 9 months and pick this up with under 10k km on the odo for about half the price (I'm willing to bet this is gonna be the case). AutoTrader's e-tron long-termer with 3 or 4k miles lost how much - 46% in value? And that was before all the upgrades...
If I were to spend this amount of money on a mid-size SUV, I'd rather go for the Macan. All the extra hook-ups I'd get would justify the increased price. BUT the sensible buy would be an X5 50E, 6-9 months old, for LESS than this.

    Someone has to Tell:
1st Audi with Mixed tires sizes of the modern times might be the RS3.
But, talking twice about the worlds first, might suggest to do the homework, since the Q4 does a wider tire on the rear for 3 years now ;)
Not turning the world this, but if you repeat facts so often you better double check.
And yes I agree with everyone, it's way to expensive for what it is. Design, seems weird also with a brand new island for the driver and the last decade screen (A6/Q4) for the passenger. Would it be 120k if the passenger got a new design as well? Feels quickly done together since Audi has to move things now

Much better pricing and a great spec plus engine worn in a little.
Bought for 24k, now worth 16k and thats 8 years later so not too bad.
I must say the Diesel debacle helped keep the price up

Given that only BYD and Tesla actually make a profit on selling their EV's, I'll opt for a Model 3 or Model Y or BYD and have nothing to feel embarrassed about next to this overpriced Audi at the traffic lights. Plus superior FSD.

Forget the car but those trainers worn with the massive height lift!!!!!! Not sure how you can even drive with those on!!!! Onto the car, price is just getting out of hand (but that is nearly all makes though there are a few exceptions) as is the technology as the more they plumb the tech into the car, the more things can go worng and I bet it is eye waterring to repair should anything go wrong...sadly we seem to be going the appliance route and a throwaway culture when really we should be looking for things to last...this EV madness goes agains the very idea of environmentally friendly as they are anything but that...

The S model won't sell well. It's too expensive and everyone is now aware of the steep depreciation for EVs. If the Germans keep charging these crazy prices, it is inevitable Chinese car brands will end up outselling them in Europe. Notice how BYD is sponsoring Euro 2024 hosted in Germany, and not a German car brand. Das Auto (the People's Car) is no longer the people's car.

  • @Cobnapint

Good review. It's a shame they want to charge £500 for the hole left from where the engine used to be. In fact it's more tban that, it's downright embarrassing.
Another strange Audism is that they won't let UK buyers spec air suspension on the lower models, you have to buy the SQ6 to get this.
And those on screen HVAC controls, you still have to delve into the menus to adjust fan speed.
    Progress eh....

  • @RB-lt8kt

Great Audi add more crap we don't need and will push insurance costs up because replacement lights will be thousands. Why are ev's sold as fast to 60 mph ? All the tech you might use once bumps up the price on a £40k car to make more money for Audi. It will also depreciate to £40k in 3 years or less. Adaptive suspension will fail after warranty and be eye watering to replace. A big fat NO from me but most probably Yes from chavs.

Unlike Porsche, German brands Audi, Mercedes and BMW has lost their ways in design over the years. Gimmicky and forgettable are two words that come to mind. don’t think any of the recent design will be looked upon five years from now as being designs that age well. Quite unfortunate given this is the brand that gave us the iconic designs like the Audi TT, the Quattro, R8….

At that price it's hard to compare the Q6 against a Model Y. There are too many options that make this car far too expensive - even the frunk is an option. And when you talk about the 'Audi quality' did you feel the cheap plastic trim on the door and the door pockets? If Audi want to stay in the EV game they need to look around at the competition, especially from China, and figure out how to make a better value car.

Price is insane, but these will mainly be leased. Leasing companies get these cars with steep discounts, so after a typical lease of 3 years they can sell this one easily for 50% of the rediculously high list-price, 2nd owner thinks he got a great deal. Private first owners will get burned, that's for sure.
