Deadlocked gets shafted a lot, but honestly, I really liked it. The music nails that space gladiator vibe and the weapons were a lot of fun to use, especially the Dual Vipers. A good spinoff game to end the PS2 era of R&C.
Does it? I never saw any of the R&C games getting roasted. It was the first time that i was in an absolute flow when playing PvP against my brother and cousin. That music contributed a lot to it.
@@Mediados i think Deadlocked is the forgotten child of the bunch, especially since its story was so small and self contained.
Then again, thats why i love it. It was the last TRUE ratchet and clank experience
@@logangagnepain7154 I wouldnt go so far to seperate R&C games into "true" games. They are all great in my opinion. Deadlocked was just unique in its own way, darker than all the other games. Many didnt like that, i found it awesome, but i think Gleeman Vox is one of the community favorites.
@@Mediados When I say "true" I am speaking in terms of the story, usually involving some sort of critique on capitalism and the rooted nature of most characters: a desire to get more cash than even safety and security.
Its something that was lost after Deadlocked, with the focus on the Lombaxes and Clank's god father.

David Bergeaud is a musical genius, especially for his orchestral sounds in the original trilogy. Too bad he never received a nomination for these games.
Why do people always praise the trilogy so much? I think everything was a 10/10 up to Tools of Destruction. I do agree that the trilogy has some of the best tho.

@@maestrofeli4259 that's true. They are awesome for ps2 Era games. I still play them today and will never stop it. Once a year I 100% them just 4 fun and for the nostalgia/memory's during school time 😁 I couldn't choose which of the 4 my favorite 1 is. The next games are great, but the humor in the ps2 games is way better and the music too. 👌

I still stand by that Ratchet Deadlocked is EXTREMELY underrated and has imo the best soundtrack in the entire R&C series. It justs nails that heavy early 2000s electronic vibe I love so much.

@@Neoniq41 they aren't really petty, you can't release a platformer with shooting and remove the platforming, story takes a backseat, there's only 3-4 interesting weapons and the rest are all very boring, and the game is entirely made up of dull green and browns

@@azzurromargot102 Do they change the finals due to corona at your place? I was in luck when I had my finals in Austria, cause I finished in 2020 when there was absolute mayhem, so the work was only half as much.

Courtney Gears was not a very relevant character and not one of my favorite villains, but that doesnt change the fact that i will never forget this fight. Accompanied by that music it was truly unique.

My first time fighting her, she landed a blow and I had to fight with *1 HP* for like a third of the fight. It was so badass.

@@leenguyen6056 A new game which draws inspiration from Deadlocked would be a serious money maker. It would capitalize off of the success of ratchet and clank and people would get to play online with different skins, have a couple different modes. Insomniac needs to make it happen

Kerwan Metropolis from Tools of Destruction was the first video game soundtrack I ever fell in love with, also, Tools Of Destruction was my first game so yeah I guess i'm slightly biased

I just found out my old ps3 is the edition on whichbyou can play ps1 and ps2 games and even make a seperate savefile. Guess what I'm about to do hahaha.

quite a few tracks on Ratchet & Clank 3 are from 1 and 2: Umbris Snagglebeast boss is Zeldrin Crash Site, Rilgar Blackwater City is almost the same between 1 and 3, Pokitaru Ratchet's Dogfight is Annihilation Nation Station Q9's boss theme and Aranos Flying Prison is Annihilation Nation Station Q9's arena theme. i think there's one or two more but the details escape me.

For some reason some of the songs give me timesplitters vibes. Especially ghost station the grinding chase that song perfectly fits into a timesplitters game.
So many great memories. I really hope all these games get out onto the PS5. Would love to play through all of them again without having to buy a PS2 and PS3.
Playing Ratchet and clank since 2003,my childhood and my adulthood most favourite game till to this day.My 4 brothers all love this game equally since we played it together, and soon im gonna introduce this game to my son, he is currently 2 years old so in 2 years from now.Best game ever made, Insomniac you are the best.

Makes me want to dig out my ps2 from storage and play these all again. I remember feeling so accomplished when I would 100% each game. I never bothered to complete any other game like these. Playing video games was more fun when I was a kid. Now I find it to be joyless and too expensive.

my first ratchet and clank game was future tools of destruction for 3 reasons 1 my dad bought it for me as a 5 year old and i was born in 07 so this game is my birth pretty much 2 he gave it when i was 7 and this game started my gaming career 3 i just love the guns the mechanics the lore everything this game opened up the story too much but that was resolved (mostly) and now that rift apart is confirmed in the OG universe (and in many more :|)that means that the lore will be more answered again its strange but oh well
