Regarding the XQD memory card... you spoke from the heart in your D500 review, and I admired that, and agreed with your. What happened, did Nikon give you hell? I just ordered my D5 with dual CF Slots... a much better choice for me. Word of advice... keep speaking from your heart, people will respect you more. That said I greatly enjoy your videos, and please keep up the good work and giving your honest opinion. Blessing to you & yours...
Great video Corey, and really helped me make my decision to buy it, and glad I did. I already have the D500 and D850, but really needed the low light capability's of the D5 for my sons diving in Natatoriums and Gymnasiums, and my daughters soccer, outdoor night games...He is a 5X National USA Diving Champion, on Team USA and is the #1 ranked 16 year old in the Nation :-) I think I made the right decision here.
The D500 is a spectacular camera. Even as a Sony user, I have no trouble saying it's one of the best deals for stills/video going right now. It may be a crop sensor, but the IQ is excellent and the 4k video is pretty sweet. For $2k that's just nuts. No question the D5 is outstanding, but the price point puts it out of any practical reach for most folks. The d500 all day. :D
I shoot wildlife and sports. Camera performs incredibly great. Put the 500mm f4 G, the 200-500mm VR and the 500mm PF. Works great with all of them. The low light capabilities is one of many reasons I purchased this camera. Way less noise with the D5 than with my D500, D800, D4 and D850.
Hi! A combo d850 + D5 with the 200-500mm would be ok for a non full time wildlife photographer? For now i own the d850 and i iintend to purchase a good deal d5.
i just had a watch of your nikon d810 review ..and it is the best review i have ever watched..but i am unable to understand one thing why you dont have more n more subscribers? why.. i believe you are doing a great job ..#keep up doing bdy!
I own a D5, its outstanding for photos. The autofocus in video tracking moving subjects is still very poor. Its missing focus peaking. As a stills sports camera its awesome
I will like you to do a benchmark test on the Canon CF Fast 2.0 vs Nikon D5 XQD. Would be very interesting to see these cards perform with big buffer rates.
The D5 has got a major issue when it comes to low ISO shadow noise. It's horrible. D4s never had this problem. Also still has a sharpening killer AA filter for whatever reason.
Have you shot with one? Cause I have edited wedding photos with my D5 and D810 together and the difference between the two is not that great. If you are so far off on your exposure you need to recover by 5 stops you need to re-evaluate your photography skills.
Crewchief 227 who ever mentioned anything about needing to recover 5 stops of exposure compensation??? It's not some kind of secret. It's an issue that's been floating around across the internet and even in TheCameraStore TV's review of the D5, the low ISO shadow noise is terrible. Plus if you're shooting a wedding, that's not where the problem is at when your shooting at high ISO's which is fine. It's low ISO's anywhere from 100-800. Another person shooting birds with a 600mm with the D5 said yet again that you ought to literally nail your exposure because the camera exhibits terrible noise if you have to bring up the exposure even just a little. Once again, the D4s never had this issue and it's probably because Nikon didn't want to rush that camera like they did this one just so they could get it in as many hands for the Olympics.
Hi! It's 2022: D780 vs D850 vs D5? (I am looking for an all rounder that can still render nice pics I low light with decent shutter speed). My D800 is lacking in low light and fast = 4 fps... ;)
Hi ,do you recommend d4s for weddings..? already got a d750 its perfect but need 2nd robust camera, liked the d810 but file size can be issue ! , what do u recommend..? thanks
Awesome Video! I am very interested in this camera. I was looking at the 810. Thanks for sharing. Oh, I think I walked by in this video. I work on 5th Avenue (18th St).
While I have enjoyed both your review of the D500 and now the D5, why are you only using both cameras to take snapshots? The photo examples in both videos just seem so random and uninteresting.
it shipped from hongkong right ? and above 1k aud you got to pay tax, even though they said they would refund, but reading lots of review they seems dodgy.
Same on the D5. You can use it to type your copyright info tho. Not sure why it can't be used to operate the menu, most likely to prevent un-intended changes to settings while shooting.
Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work; love your reviews. Will have to stay with my D300 for now although D500 could well be in my future (it's all down to the mighty $$$).
I was being ficisous. I gotta remember that for when I say something completely wrong. Why say, hey, I got it wrong when I can say "I was being ficisous". Thanks for the tip.
Lol, you are never zooming in on any of the shots that are above 6400 iso. I think that the Nikon D5 was a big DUD! I am a Nikon guy I shoot with the Nikon D810, D800 & D4 but when it comes to low light Nikon has NOTHING that can compare to the Sony a7s ii. Those images that you shot at 25,600 iso wouldn't look anything close to what the a7s ii at 52,000 and that's no joke the Sony a7s ii defines the odds what shooting in the dark. I will never get rid of my Nikon kit because I love the 14.9 stops of dynamic range and the native 64 iso but when it comes to video or low light I am not afraid to add a Sony into the family because that's how good the a7s ii is it's absolutely unbelievable. I'll just tell you this I was watching all these videos on You Tube of the Sony a7s ii and how its the best low light camera ever made in the dslr price point, so I went down to Bedford Camera in my local city and said let me see the Sony a7s ii and the 16-35mm f/4 and I am going to take a few shots at 52,000 iso and I want to personally see if the files are usable and I bought it right then and there when I saw what it could do. And keep in mind this was spending like 5-10 mins with the camera inside the store but I went into the back storage room and had them turn the lights off to where it was over 90% dark and was taking shot at 102,400 iso that look like about 1600 iso on my D810.
I have had my D5 for about 4 months now. And I fucking love this camera, so much that I relegated my D810 to backup duty. Anyways I like your black and white processing and why I am watching this, even though I don't need the review aspect.
no talking in a closed room..!! Real shooting...Great as always
Thanks Suyash!
This guy has best reviews keep on doing this stuff mate one of the best!
I'm a Canon shooter...I'd be so tempted to jump ship.
Love your reviews, been waiting ages for this one :)
Thanks Jase!

Corey!!!! Good to see you man!! Thanks for the great vidoes as always!!!! Best Regards.
Hey Andrew! Thanks!
fantastic vid as usual. love all the awesome characters you meet out on the streets. looking forward to the D5 vs 1DX MkII review 😊

great video, just bought the d500, as the d5 was out of budget......very impressive for a crop sensor
I own a D5, its outstanding for photos. The autofocus in video tracking moving subjects is still very poor.

Really enjoyed the review. Greetings from England.
hey canon 5d mark 4 is best or this one plz suggest m
I understand you've been quite busy lately but I miss your reviews a lot!
The D5 is better than the D500. Yes, but it also cost a lot more. With my small budget, the D500 was the best choice. So far, I haven't regret that!!
I bought the Nikon D4 out of your video. Do you think an upgrade is necessary?
good review.now I go to the nikon shop for buying D5
The D5 has got a major issue when it comes to low ISO shadow noise. It's horrible. D4s never had this problem. Also still has a sharpening killer AA filter for whatever reason.

Is there a case where it goes so far off as to do a 5 stop recovery?
Can't imagine any case above 2 stops itself.

I raise the shadows a lot on my photography in light room and to think that its spotty after that is not good
one click zoom, much faster than any touchscreen, even the D3 had that like 11 years ago
love your reviews :) Keep going

thanks
Please edit this video to perform a comparison of high ISO with the D4s vs the D5. For some reason D5 reviewers are avoiding such a comparison.
The D5 is better - simple...
@@colblimpbetter dynamic range ?
How much editing are done to the stills presented in the clip?
Great review,keep it up!
Question do you use back button focus? In single and continuos ?
long time no see cory miss u bro....
Awesome Video! I am very interested in this camera. I was looking at the 810. Thanks for sharing. Oh, I think I walked by in this video. I work on 5th Avenue (18th St).
I have d500 it great camera I think picture are sharper on d500 then d5
I am not sure if that is a proper statement calling it the best DSLR that is ever made since the D810 has better IQ at lower ISO
Is digital cameras day coming to an end? Is the mirrorless camera the new kid on the block? Some are saying that it is the future, what do you think?
you deserve like 1 million subs
Day light with a Nikon D5? Go to party or concert to shoot in low light situation... Look back your Sony A7RII (in darkness)!
While I have enjoyed both your review of the D500 and now the D5, why are you only using both cameras to take snapshots? The photo examples in both videos just seem so random and uninteresting.
it's real-time real world usage. What do you expect? for him to turn a paying gig into a 'product' review? C'mon now.
can I buy Nikon D5 for wedding photography. I don't have any experience of DSLR.
Vinod Pathare but you have a lot of money I see
how much buffer time does one need :)
Wish i had $9800.00 Australian for the D5 i think i'll just stick with my D800 haha!
tflynn124 it's $6,800 aud on dwi on ebay :) much cheaper than the price tag you mentioned..
it shipped from hongkong right ? and above 1k aud you got to pay tax, even though they said they would refund, but reading lots of review they seems dodgy.
The touchscreen on the D500 will not allow access to the menu functions. Is that the same on the D5?
Same on the D5. You can use it to type your copyright info tho. Not sure why it can't be used to operate the menu, most likely to prevent un-intended changes to settings while shooting.
Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work; love your reviews.

Best review...ever. THANKS!
are you an working pro photographer? or is the reviewing you do with the cameras something you do in your spare time?
Hi my name is Craig can you do a video no the Nikon d 850
I am planning to sell my car and buy this camera. Is it worth that?
no way. unless your car is a toy.
Why D500 samples looks Sharper?
it is i think :) I heard the D3300 is better than this in low ISO. It also hav a low pass filter
18:35 best part of the video, she was great! LOL
Question for you all: what firmware version should I ask about before buying the camera?
Great hair!
Dsrl 👌🏼
I was being ficisous.
I gotta remember that for when I say something completely wrong. Why say, hey, I got it wrong when I can say "I was being ficisous".
Thanks for the tip.
I because that's exactly what I was doing. It's not a lie or tip. I don't appreciate being called a liar.
yea right, a great camera, now i just need to hit a jackpot, then i will be ready to go! ! ! God bless me.
The video seems a bit choppy Dx

Did anyone else see at 39:22 the old rich dude with the hella hot trophy wife? LOL
Crewchief 227 she wasnt that hot
