Those edges are sharp 90 degree corners...a little sanding to break the edge would probably be a good idea and pine sands super easy. I am planning to make one of these and I am going to use a 1/4" router to get really rounded edges everwhere.
Thank you SO much for this tutorial. I’ve been searching to buy something to add cup holders to our couch but everything I find is so tacky looking. I made these instead and not only are they beautiful, they’re nice and sturdy too. I did mine a white wash on mine.
