looks good against the plants, could go either way on poured concrete. What else are in the surroundings? Are you going for bold or subtle contrast? I never thought I'd say this but you need more glam shot angles with dance music overlay :o
Looks really sharp as is. I can definitely understand you wanting to make it darker, that's where I tend to go on stain but it's always nice to go with a different option.
Your step by step is unmatched! RUclips should use your videos as the example for other DIY channels because this made me think I could build anything. Great content and beautiful family. Brilliant - a stylish design that is also simple to make. As for making cushions I suspect you will be very good at it. Please keep these lovely ideas coming. 👍👍
Thank you. So clearly explained. As a beginner (with some minimal experience with woodworking) I just cleared out my shed so I have a place to work. These chairs are exactly what I want to make. Even my husband was impressed!
Love the design, and I love that you're making the effort to explain how you could do this with less tools. Even a hand saw, a hand drill, and some screws would get the whole thing together. Nice video!
For those of you who live in places where it rains a lot: Move the support piece that runs parallel to the arm rest up a bit so that piece isn’t sitting in water. This is an awesome chair!
Awesome looking chair! I like how you showed another way of cutting the joints to help out those who may not have a table saw. I like the color as well
Thank you for offering your plans for free. That raises you above the other diy-ers. Most people here either want to make stuff thereselves or don't have enough money to just buy the furniture. You are offering the solution for both those groups, that suits you. Keep up the outstanding work! You get enough money from sponsors/advertisements & maybe patreon? Cheers brother, now someone with a budget can suprise his kids too by making them a gift!
Wow this is a great tutorial! I’m just getting in to building garden beds, benches, etc. so I do not have all the woodworking tools of a professional shop so your suggestions on how to modify the plans to use what you have is GREATLY appreciated.
Your step by step is unmatched! RUclips should use your videos as the example for other DIY channels because this made me think I could build anything. Lol great content and beautiful family.
I love that you give options, i always run into DIY's with people with these crazy tools that i don't have, i appreciate the video and will definitely try
To make it higher you could add four 4x4 to the legs , this way you will get the needed hight and keep the legs away from moisture and wet ground since it's an outdoor chair.
I was just thinking about that as soon as I saw the thumbnail! I’m short, and I have back problems. Sitting down or getting up from a chair this low is a struggle... forget about how it looks! 😉
Once you start sewing, you'll be just as hooked as you are with woodworking bro. My passions are woodworking, sewing, Boxing (#1), and gardening. I really hope you take it up, I'd like to see what different minds can come up with. Good luck and continue making helpful videos.
Where from Philippines my mother and I watch your DIY out door chair product how she wish she could posses those cutting machine and tools u have when ur doing the outdoor chair she was so amazed and happy seeing u doing it and my mom wish that someday she can learn more of making furnitures but where just poor and we can provide those machine but i am thankfull for ur videos cause my mom said she will try to make it her own ways i wish her luck God bless u Sir and hoping more videos to share so we can learn more
Love it! Your DIY modern outdoor chair tutorial is fantastic. The sleek design and clear instructions make it seem totally doable, even for beginners like me. Thanks for sharing this awesome project!
Great job! Here is an idea for future videos: can you design MOBILE FURNITURE? Do you know how hard it can be to move, so what is furniture could be disassembled into modular components? Good idea?
Lovely chair design! Clean, simple, and fun to make. I do have a suggestion for making it more child friendly. And that is to potentially sanding out the sharp corners for the 4x4 pieces.
Thank you for your tutorial, I was looking for wooden garden furniture and I came across your chair, love the simple design, now my poor husband has got to make these for me (us)
Nice job man. I think it's a great design but for me, I couldn't move them around easily (65 yo). I'm going to try some 2x4 tests and see how the weight is. If I find that the look is similar and the weight is good, I'll post some plans for old guys like me! Thanks again.
Beautiful chair. I love the simple lines! I am thinking about making a couple for my wife but I am wondering if I should move the back up? It looks like it may be a bit uncomfortable that low? What are your feelings after sitting in it?
Hey man! Great video and great chair, I’m looking to do a project in school and was wondering if there is anywhere I can get plans / design details for this?
Aloha, I really like this chair. My Hawaiian Nephew is Iz Sized and I have been looking for something to make that won't break easily. I'm also looking to make a big person loft bed and a in the window cat door with shelves. The stuff that is said to be cheap else where, are expensive here. I was looking at the industrial water pipe shelves online and trying to find something useful like that. We moved into a place in rural Hawaii that has little space and no cupboards. The guys are not careful with things and the cheaper more afordable stuff has a lot of press board or partical board. The termites and mold is fierce here. We also try not to have places for termites to hide. If the cabinets didn't have spaces that are empty like under or over it's better. Where do you get your ideas? I like this chair. Can you make stuff that is helpful? I'm sure it isn't just Hawaii. We all need practical affordable stuff. Mahalo, Kai
Man I love your videos and designs it’s great stuff. Might I suggest half lap joints as a much sturdier option as opposed to end grain glue up butt joint with one lag bolt. Glue is much stronger than people would think but on the end grain it’s not so great. I don’t mean to offend in anyway like I said I love your videos and what you do. It’s close to summer and we need new outdoor furniture, would you mind if I made a similar design with the changes I have in mind and post on my channel. I would credit you with the design and idea of course with a link to your channel. Thanks for sharing!!!
Those monster lag bolts are plenty strong. I don't think he's losing on strength VS lap joints with those beasties. With the laps he could use much lighter hardware though, just wood screws. :-P
This is great. I may never attempt to build this but learning a lot of joinery. I think if you built an entire house we could all follow along and build one too!
Another great video. Thanks! Very clear. I especially appreciate the details for those of us trying to do as much as we can/all of it with hand tools/no electricity.
Just want to say, I have been looking at your builds and you are definitely inspiring. First started with epoxy and now doing the concrete slabs with LED's. To support you I have purchase the bundle of plans... Thanks again, keep inspiring!!!

Am I the only one who thinks this man's wife is freakin' lucky to have such creative man? 😍
I'm clearly a fan of his works lol

Why haven’t Ryobi, Dewalt, or Rigid sponsored this man and provided him with the best tools avaviable🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Because he’s already moved past them into SawStop, Festool, and other premium tools… 😎
Milwaukee would have to sponsor him if he wants the best tools available

Simple uncomplicated build (I think I could even do it) and really looks like a comfortable sit. I like it.
You do a great job of explaining what and why you're doing what you're doing... I'm adding this to my project list. Thanks man!
Great job. Love how you took care of the beam spacing even underneath the pillow - real craftsmanship.

I love your work, it's so neat. I love what you did with the dowels. Awesome attention to details
You did very well, the chair is very nice! Thanks for sharing!
I used 2 1/2 inches square metal to build 1 single sofa for my home. All metal part i wrapping with wall paper..wow..its so elegance..
Well done on what you built and the decision on the finish you went with. Being a vertically challenged fellow myself I feel the height is perfect!
