critical software update is required for your mac touch bar not working.
this macOS was recently installed. It boots and wifi setting screen appears then when I try proceed it says:
A critical software update is required for your Mac, but an error was encountered while installing this update.
Your Mac can't be used until this update is installed
if your macbook pro touch bar not working, try this first:
Click the Apple logo on the menu bar and select Force Quit. A faster way to launch the Force Quit window is using this keyboard shortcut: Command + Option + Escape. Select the app that's causing
the Touch Bar failure and click the Force Quit button.
There are 4 reasons that cause this problem and 3 solutions that might help you:
0-Start your Mac in Safe Mode, hold down Shift = Check your Wifi connection/Ethernet and disable any proxy servers that cause problems installing updates from Apple servers.
1-Start your Mac in Safe Mode, hold down the Shift key =Update your Mac and restart normally.
2-Start your Mac in safe mode, hold down Shift = uninstall any software/programs that have anything to do with your touchbar, such as "BetterTouchTool or Pock".
3-Touchbar broken = send your Mac to the repairer or replace it yourself with a new one.

I ran first aid in recovery mode, i thought that worked to fix my issue but...... The next day i went to restart and no luck, i found the issue. I had failed to update monterey os. I was having more issues and could not start up in recovery mode to run disc utility but the disc was not the issue. I managed to startup with left shift held down after several attempts then i managed to go to about this mac, software update (app store was not working) then i ignored the recommended os and clicked on show more updates, then i found the missing update for monterey, this took around 30 mins and a few restarts, which it seemed to do on it's own. I was scared as my monitor was working and sometimes updates do not allow the use of the external monitor. Anyway. Finally this worked. no more error showing in startup disc in disc utility first aid when clicking on the top disc option.

you should check the camera in safe mode. if it's not working then you need to check mortherboard USB_VBUS of U3900 chip (PP3V0_AWAKE_LDO7
41 rail) has 3vdc?

A ơi máy e cũng bị như vậy và tình trạng hiện tại là lúc lên được lúc không, lúc nó lên được thì sẽ ok, còn lúc lỗi nó tịt luôn cả touchbar và camera :( a có nhận sửa lỗi này không ạ, mong a cho e xin thông tin liên lạc

detach the webcam cable. it's the one to the right side of screen cable, under the shield. and see how it goes.

Same problem, I booted up in safe mode, checked FaceTime camera - didn’t work (connect a webcam) so if I disconnect it it might work?

@@deenot4878 try it. that's not hard to remove it. It did work here. but i would like to add one more thing.
screen went completely black after one month and i don't know why. So this could mean that your screen may start falling apart if you also prove that removing the webcam sorts out your problem too.
