Bruno Porro That wasn’t on the video, but when a youtube ad comes up you can you use the Touch Bar to scroll to the end of the ad. I’m pretty sure this works on Hulu and other video platforms as well. Sometimes on iPad if you’re lucky then the scroll bar also shows up during ads, so you can skip them too. TL;DR you’re basically scrolling through the ad like you would with videos and it skips it.
I got an M1 MacBook Pro earlier this month and I adore the touch bar! It makes the laptop feel more premium and unique. I love it, I think it's an awesome addition. It was one of the main reasons why I ended up going with the Pro over the Air (also the better cooling was important for me) 😊 The haptic touch bar app is soo cool!! I had no idea the touch bar was haptic, why don't Apple let you turn that feature on?!
@@RuseMocha mostly watching youtube😆 I'm a computer science student though so I use it for coding as well! I basically use it for everything, it's so good 😍
@@RuseMocha I have never actually run into an issue with the RAM! I was nervous to get only 8GB but I constantly forget I don't still have 16GB, the RAM is super efficient 😊 I got a free dongle from a job I had in September so the port thing isn't an issue at all, but before that if I ever had a port issue I'd just quickly use my 2012 MacBook Pro lol
I didn´t think the touchbar would be any great addition. I though it would be fine, but nothing special. But OMG its a lifechanger!! It is so intuitive and easy! Really helps on productivity. Try presenting a powerpoint with it! Honestly - its great!!
I love my Touch Bar. I just think people are listening to what other people say rather than forming opinions themselves or actually using the device. Plus, internet reviewers are like "I want my function keys back," well then just hold "function" or go into settings to change it back to function keys. People are just too dramatic.
I have everything I need, a 27" iMac, an old 12" MacBook, the iPad Pro 2021, keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, etc, but when I have a bad day I come over here, and view your channel, the enthusiasm is always appreciated, I could watch you talking about paint drying.
I've had a touch bar mac for three years and the only things I use it for are brightness adjustment, volume adjustment, emojis, and turning a "U" into a Ü for my German class. That's really about it.
Perfect timing for this one as I just bought a new MacBook and am experiencing the touch bar for the first time! I appreciate the tips and the positive perspective on the touch bar. I didn't think it would be something that I would like using, as the feedback is generally negative, but I find the touch bar pretty handy!
I absolutely love my Touch Bar on my A2338 13" MacBook Pro! It is actually the sole reason for purchasing it, other than getting a muuuch better battery life than my 2018 Alienware laptop. Also, I'm huge on customization and decorating, and MacBooks allow you to have cute snap-on cases, keyboard covers, etc. I actually have a video on my channel about my crystal MacBook case, as well as where to get one. This is also coming from someone who isn't an Apple fan lol
I love Touch Bar and I am using it since three days. Especially if I do music or editing all things. It helps me to do more stuff, like typing a word, adding smokies, moving from a page to another without moving on trackpad and so on.
I’m only 2 days with my new MacBook Pro 13 M1, and I have or say I in middle between loving and hating the Touch Bar. I don’t find it a very bad idea, but as a developer, I don’t look a lot to the keyboard, so I can’t focus on using these features. May be needing some adaptation. Finally, I just set an option that lets it always shows the expanded controls so that it turns into what I used to have in a regular Apple keyboard to control volume, brightness, etc.
if you use adobe programs, the tochbar is very useful .. that without mentioning that thanks to it you can skip the RUclips advertising video 😊 It is a useful tool depending on where you use it and how you use it (although obviously I don't know something exceptional)
i have the macbook pro with the touch bar (2020 i think) and i genuinely like it. i especially like how easy it is to screenshot things using it. but i do miss having a really button for the volume and brightness. if they kept the touch bar and the top row i feel like it would be perfect
Usually I prefer physical buttons for volume/power in any device or equipment(even prefer a round knob), but no way brightness is better with physical keys. You have to keep pushing physical buttons to adjust brightness. With the touch screen you don't even need to look for any button, just swipe left or right. (I can literally do that with my eyes closes)
So, I knew you were religious. I saw scriptures in some of your videos. But oblivious me, didn’t see your podcast link at the bottom until today. I appreciate the fact you include that in every video. Though a a strangers compliment means nothing I thought I would just say it. I am encouraged by your zeal.
Love this tech talk. Stumbled upon as my touch bar suddenly disappeared. I feared it was due to my company's recent update, as they own and remotely administrate my Macbook. BTW, the quick fix to have. your touch bar re-appear...if you run into this same issue...is to launch control monitor, search for touchbar server and stop/quit the server. Then, simply reboot. Thank you @Chris of Daily Tekk for you helpful tips!
personally when i got my 16' macbook pro i customised the touchbar and got rid of the siri button (because i can just say 'hey siri') and replaced it with the launchpad button, because i like a clean dock and i have a lot of apps. i like the idea of having dictation instead, but you can just double press the 'fn' key and it does the same thing, so imma keep the launchpad button for now. but i also like the apps you talked about, might have to try them out, great vid.
I really liked the touch bar! I had it set up exactly the way I wanted. When I bought a new MacBook Pro without one, I was lost at first because my touch bar was gone with all of my customizations.
I might feel differently after having my first mac with the touch bar...but as I'm doing research on the M1 Air vs the M1 Pro...the touch bar seems super cool to me!
I don't see why anyone would hate the Touch Bar, that was one of the reasons why I bought my MacBook Pro, because it is such a versatile tool that changes depending on what you have open on the screen. And it is so unique too, why would you just want a laptop with just a basic keyboard anyway?
Honestly although the touch bar was not widely accepted when it first was unveiled, myself included, it later grew on me. What I really like is how convenient spell check is and the auto fill options are presented in the touch bar. Allowing you to keep typing and simply press the correct spelling of the word you were trying to type out. I actually hate the old fashion way of having to right click the red highlight on every word. It allows for everything to flow smoothly. Also the ability to pause or play any video or audio content from any tab. When you have a traditional keyboard you can simply hit the pause or play button and whatever content you have playing in the background will pause or play. The touch bar helps me do that while I'm on another tab or using another application. Something that otherwise was much more difficult with the traditional keyboard that came on macnbooks.
I actually think the touch bar is an interesting feature, and something I use fairly frequently when using my new MBP, It enables a lot of interactions I would normally need to mouse around for, and that's nice from a convenience perspective. If people start to really take a shine to it overall, I could see it come to a 'wireless magic keyboard with touch bar' On another note, you should link to the apps you reference to better facilitate your viewers finding exactly what apps your talking about, and actually screen capturing the device when talking about something the app lets you do would be a great way to better showcase the app rather than aiming the camera at your screen. I get for the touchbar itself you cant just screengrab that [though you can screenshot it with a shortcut in macos so screen capture could be a thing since the os is aware of it as a display in some sense. Good tips though!
Heads up, I tried the haptic touch bar app on my 16" MBP and a few hours later the underside of the computer was so hot it startled me. Checked Activity Monitor and Haptic Touch Bar was the culprit, using 250% CPU and unresponsive ... this was on 10.15.5 Catalina
Dyllon it isn’t exactly like that, the pock-”dock” stays even after revoking permissions and deleting the app, you have to restart your Mac to get them gone.
Heck yeah, I have been wanting to love my Touch Bar for 3 years now, and finally it makes sense. Putting the dock in the Touch Bar will save me so many headaches
After having recently purchased a touchbar MacBook Pro, i can see why the touchbar is on its way out The majority of third party apps (that i use) don’t make use of it, i have encountered a few glitches with it, and the third party touchbar apps seem to get kicked off of the touchbar whenever the system is locked, and even when i log back on, i have to mess about getting the app to work again, because the app got kicked off
Touchbar is usefor those who are more in editing. I use photoshop a lot bc I’m a photographer and sliding on the touch bar makes me job 10 times better than using a mouse or have to remember what number to put in get the result i want. Also youtube and music is top notch.
I am so excited. I bought my first MacBook ever. I don’t know how to use it, I have never used one before but I cannot wait to learn. I have everything else Apple so it will sync really well with this laptop. 😍 by the way, I’m keeping this video in my Apple playlist here so I can refer to this video again!
I was told to hate it when it first came along in 2016, being mocked as the "emoji bar". I now use it a lot for the macOS screen recorder for education video making on which the bar displays the duration & stop button while giving me the add-ons for Preview, the program being recorded. Moreover, I enjoy using the word-correction function & suggested emojis with the apps-specific functionality. Tons of people here on RUclips swallow what others spit.
u think i should go for the M2 Macbook Air or the M2 Macbook Pro? I mean... at this point, the Macbook Pro's 13 inch design is pretty dated. The only selling point for the Macbook Pro imo is the Touch Bar, but is that one feature enough to beat out the newly redesigned Air?
I’ve used the better touch tool for about two years and I love it! It takes a while to get it ”just right” but when you’re there it’s awesome! Would love to see you dig a little deeper on that one! 🙃
I am sad Apple is going to remove the Touch Bar, according to the leaks. People do not understand the value of it and how you can literally skip any ads on RUclips for free! I definitely will miss this feature!
That Haptic Touch Bar app is a cool party trick for a few seconds before you found out it only works for brightness and volume settings. Otherwise it's useless by today standards.
Good video, but please don’t ever do that close up on your face thing again. Made me weirdly uncomfortable Edit: Halfway through and honestly I’m scared to watch because I get so startled by the close up. Great video though
⭐ Apple should keep the Touchbar on 13inch MBP as it is a selling point and distinguish feature than other laptops. Secondly people who want to type and need physical F keys can use an external keyboard.
I had a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for two years and didn’t know I could do half of this stuff. Makes me want to get another one. Haptic feedback looks cool.
I think the Touch Bar is a really cool feature. I’m actually looking into getting a MacBook and the Touch Bar has got me sold over the air m2, that and the cooling system.
I feel that some people find the Touch Bar gimmicky compared to the physical use of function keys but yet it was one of the main selling points for me getting the MBP opposed to the Air. But in saying this, I have spent majority of my life using desktop computers so most of the time those keyboards wouldn't have secondary functions for F1, F2 etc etc. (not that I'm aware of anyway). My previous laptop (This is my first Mac as well) unless I really remembered the secondary function of the function keys, I would waste time looking at the symbols to work out what function I needed. With the Touch Bar, I find I can use it a lot more effectively. I do like how it does automatically change depending on what app I am in or even what I am doing (just commenting here it already has the predictive text row like on my iPhone). I do feel though there could be more that Apple could have done for OOTB when it came to the Touch Bar and its a shame they have removed that on the newest models.
Switching from windows to Mac recently, the Touch Bar was really impressive to me. It's not like, reshaping my workflow or anything, but its crazy seeing it actually supported in a bunch of apps. If that was in windows I feel like it would have really sparse support and you'd have to set up most of the controls.
I’m glad more people talk about hitting the touch bar by accident. Drives me nuts on the 16”, I’m always muting, locking the screen or reloading a page that I’m debugging. Loathe it.
I absolutely love your videos man !!! Every time I come here.... I think there can be nothing new you can tell me that I already don’t know.... and BAMMM !!! there you are with something I didn’t even knew existed
The touch-bar might not be worth the extra 300 bucks for over the air for most, but take it from someone who uses FCPX and Logic Pro X at a pro level : I cannot remember 100 shortcuts for each, and I didn't knew I needed them! Plus the touch sliders for automating volume changes and transition is so cool. Control devices covering this many shortcuts for pro apps cost at least 400 bucks and take up space. And I don't need a big display not that I can see the whole timeline and navigate it visually. I'd much rather carry a little travel-dock than to use anything else!
i didnt try downloading the other apps he suggested but just so everyone knows, haptic touch bar doesnt cost money to download but does cost money to actually use. starts with a 14 day free trial then to use it further it costs $5.
hi I loved your video as I just get the MacBook Pro was tired of windows and all the issue, and I love the MacBook Pro its 2018 but love to use it and after seeing your video I customise the Touch Bar and its awesome,,,,
I'll be getting the first gen M1 MacBook Pro on Monday and it has a touch bar so as long as I can use it, I won't be too upset. This video should help me understand it as my current computer is a 2017 MacBook Air.

the best thing about the touch bar is the ability to skip right through ads lol , winner
I don't even have a macbook, what am I doing here at 3am
I am sad Apple is going to remove the Touch Bar, according to the leaks. People do not understand the value of it and how you can literally skip any ads on RUclips for free! I definitely will miss this feature!
That Haptic Touch Bar app is a cool party trick for a few seconds before you found out it only works for brightness and volume settings. Otherwise it's useless by today standards.
Wow yes know I actually like/luv the Touch Bar! After 2 yrs I’ll actually use it more than a few times a day
I did not know that I could just side the volume and brightness thanks.🤩
Good video, but please don’t ever do that close up on your face thing again. Made me weirdly uncomfortable
Edit: Halfway through and honestly I’m scared to watch because I get so startled by the close up. Great video though
⭐ Apple should keep the Touchbar on 13inch MBP as it is a selling point and distinguish feature than other laptops. Secondly people who want to type and need physical F keys can use an external keyboard.
That fn key hold down was awesome. I am considering to buy a MacBook pro and I am an avid vim user and that makes my life as easy as it gets.
Thank you so much! This really helped me configure my control strip; underrated feature but very useful.
touch bar is the coolest thing I have ever seen on a laptop.
I don’t love my touchbar but I don’t hate it either. It is pretty cool when an app can make good use of it
I had a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for two years and didn’t know I could do half of this stuff.
*Another reason:* Touch Bar pets 😌✌️
Great tips! Still hate it though! Wish they could just release two versions of the Pro (with and without the touch bar) and so everyone's happy.
I love how I can take out Siri and switch it to toggle my keyboard languages since I use a Korean keyboard too
I got my MacBook Pro 3 months ago, and I love the Touch Bar. But imagine the touchbar with a touch screen. That will be 🤩
I was choosing between the M1 Pro or Air, this video made me get this pro.
* cries in macbook air *
This video got me so hyped
I just got a 2020 13' m1
Thanks man
Switching from windows to Mac recently, the Touch Bar was really impressive to me. It's not like, reshaping my workflow or anything, but its crazy seeing it actually supported in a bunch of apps. If that was in windows I feel like it would have really sparse support and you'd have to set up most of the controls.
Great video, I don't have a touchbar macbook and before this video I tought it was useless! Thanks for this info video
trufiend138 they have completely different specs and cooling
This video was super useful!!! 🙌🏽 Removing Siri was a game changer 😆. Thanks 🙏🏽
Glad it helped!
So I’m getting one for Christmas and I can’t wait. I need to know what to do to make it worth it
I literally love the touchbar that is the only I didn’t go for the MacBook air
watching this not even having a mac
I love the touchbar because it makes the mac look "Smarter" and cooler
The face zoom in every few mintues was so unsettling 🤣, I liked the video tho
Thanks for the things you told me about that I already knew, and the creepy close-ups on your sweaty face👌👍
What I also like about the touch bar is that, you can see your keynote previous and next slide while presenting
Knowledge is POWER!
I like the touch bar and just have to come by and watch this video because you mentioned on the other one! LOL
Oh no lol
The touch-bar might not be worth the extra 300 bucks for over the air for most, but take it from someone who uses FCPX and Logic Pro X at a pro level : I cannot remember 100 shortcuts for each, and I didn't knew I needed them! Plus the touch sliders for automating volume changes and transition is so cool. Control devices covering this many shortcuts for pro apps cost at least 400 bucks and take up space. And I don't need a big display not that I can see the whole timeline and navigate it visually. I'd much rather carry a little travel-dock than to use anything else!
I love the Touch Bar on my MacBook Pro M1 it’s super fun
i didnt try downloading the other apps he suggested but just so everyone knows, haptic touch bar doesnt cost money to download but does cost money to actually use. starts with a 14 day free trial then to use it further it costs $5.
I really like the touch bar. Its really helpful
Hey, I am gonna purchase a m1 MacBook Pro tmrw so the apps u are showing is it safe and secure?
hi I loved your video as I just get the MacBook Pro was tired of windows and all the issue, and I love the MacBook Pro its 2018 but love to use it and after seeing your video I customise the Touch Bar and its awesome,,,,
I'll be getting the first gen M1 MacBook Pro on Monday and it has a touch bar so as long as I can use it, I won't be too upset. This video should help me understand it as my current computer is a 2017 MacBook Air.
