As a fond touchbar user, it will feel like a downgrade when I need to replace my pro in a couple of years & will have no option but to go back to the traditional tactical f-key layout. The touchbar made the Mac Pro stand out upon other macs/laptops & was a considerable selling point to me. Over two years I’ve grown accustomed to all of the functionality, features, accessibility & never had issues with control. Very disappointed to hear apple has gone away with it.
I kinda wished they still had the touch bar as an optional feature, like how you can choose which chip you want inside. I totally would have gone for the touch bar option, even of it was an extra $100!
This is the perfect reason why Apple keeps underselling things. They strip out features that you are already paying for, and then charge an extra so you can get it again.
I personally love the Touch Bar! It’s the soul reason why I bought the M2 MacBook Pro woh the highest specks. The touch bar is beyond amazing and it allows me to have a smoother workflow in the HR field! Also one of my favorite features is the ability to skip adds on Hulu, Peacock, RUclips and Pandora! That alone makes the touch bar worth it 😊
I absolutely love the touch bar! It's shocking to me that so many people don't. Although reading through the comments here, I'm certainly not the only one. I really wish Apple would bring it back.
i don't think its very useful. in order to adjust the brightness i have to click on the brightness logo and then slide on it. Same thing with sound. It makes everything a whole lot useless. Like the video explains if they made it useful then it would be good but it wasn't useful it only looks cool. I went with the MBA for this single reason. I want a fan on mine but i never went for the mbp 13 inch because of the touch bar. Im glad you like it man but in my view i despise it lol.
@@13gta And for the exact reason you despise it, I love it! I think being able to slide my finger across the top to change the brightness is fantastic. Much more useful than having to hit the brightness key over and over again. It's crazy how one person can despise something and the other, love. And I'm sure you're thinking "how is sliding a finger easier than tapping on a brightness key?".
I never really understood the hate for the touch bar since it’s always been useful for me. Overall watching experienced was improved, easier to do my papers bec of predictive shortcut and tools, and editing software shortcuts. And not gonna lie I only really used that row for brightness and volume before it’s existence-which the touchbar does a WAAAAAY better job at in controlling.
I am the one who is actually in love with the touch bar and still wishes for them to bring it back to the newer models and not only for the older models. It would be great if they make an option to ask the user if they want to get the physical keys or the touch bar, just like they did on the AirPods where they asked the user if they want the normal charger version one or the MagSafe one.
Probably one of the things I love about the Touch Bar is the ability to change songs through Spotify without having to actually switch to the app itself. But sometimes it gets buggy too, like I can’t find the option to change the song on the Touch Bar or it doesn’t work. Don’t want to upgrade my first generation MacBook 16 inch now because of this function lol
I love the fact I can receive and control phone calls while on Windows Remote Desktop without having to swipe back to Mac OS Touch bar is the greatest thing to people doing presentation with Microsoft powerpoint. The fact that you could see all your pages while in full screen mode is like the biggest game changer in the world. There are like a million uses for the Touch Bar especially people that watch things like shorts, TikTok, Instagram or Ads. You can literally fast forward or rewind any kind of video. When I say any video, I mean any video. The only device in the world that lets you do so. Touch screen phones/tablets don't even give you that option. I have a 13 M2 pro with Touch Bar, but display stopped working and instead of fixing it, I decided to get a M2 Air without a Touch Bar and its been hell for me to adjust especially with use of Emojis and auto correct option. It is just sad that some miserable people had to complain about it and made apple stop producing it 🤦🏾♂ Now I need to go back and fix my 13 pro M2 to get back into those good ol' times.
it rarely gets buggy these days with updates. The latest touchback macbook pro (the one I'm using as we speak) has only ever given me one (10 minutes to resolve) bug and has worked flawlessly since
I am one of the few that like the touch bar. I think apple lost out on using software and apps with it, and did not utilize it's function. It's convenient for certain things for me. I would like to see them continue to release it.
Wow I actually thought the majority liked it I was one of the few that didn't like it. It was the sole reason I kept buying MacBook Air instead of the Pros. However I agree that ultimately everyone has different preference and it would be nice if you can choose between two options, but I guess it was an extra cost they didn't want to have.
They should’ve made it so you could have custom layouts depending on the app you were using. Then you could set an app to have buttons or sliders for certain functions even if the developers didn’t build one in
Apostrophe error. Its is the is the possessive form of it. It's is the abbreviation for "it is". Your first "it's" is incorrect, your second "It's" is correct. Regards Paul
I love the touch bar. I just bought a "Pro" a few years ago and had no clue it was now phased out. I think it's stepping back. I use it quite a lot and it's very much appreciated.
The point of the Touch Bar was to provide custom in app shortcut keys and custom keyboard function keys. 3rd party App developers never funded Touch Bar integration and Apple never funded Touch Bar integration so it basically failed. The Touch Bar could have been great but no one wanted to fund (custom software implementation / user ease of use) to make it work.
Yep macs are already a segmented OS but then the Touch Bar was only on MacBook pros a smaller fraction of a fraction and just nonexistent for desktops, honestly I think an external keyboard with a touch bar above the function keys would be interesting
Sincerely, for my use, the touchbar already works where I use it. Discord has shortcuts, Microsoft Office, Safari, Finder and all the Apple Apps. I love deleting files from the touchbar, changing brightness and volume is much easier and fluid, I can change text color with ease, mute myself, change tabs, search on safari easily. And it is all customizable. So, in fact, it has been a success for me.
Why I loved the Touch Bar: > More customisability > Shortcuts in supported programs > I always use the touch bar to pick emojis > PET GAMES > I love the feel of adjusting volume and brightness > It’s silent > Scrubbing through videos without using the popup, which is way faster and aesthetically pleasing (used it a lot for watching reference videos as an animator) > Skipping ads on RUclips I rarely use the function keys (I have a separate Magic Keyboard with Touch ID) so I am reluctant to upgrade to the newer MacBook Pro. I think the touch bar was honestly the best feature on the MacBook Pro as compared to other laptops. I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE CAN HATE IT?!?! Hoping that they will add it back as an optional upgrade in the future, preferably with half-sized function keys below for the people who needs it
I agree, I believe the people that don’t like the touch bar were loud, people who like didn’t defend themselves. Function keys along with Touch Bar can be possible. It’s sad to see now it’s gone :(
It’s very easy to hate it because it was an absolute nightmare for touch typists, accidental strokes, zero haptic feedback, no tactile feel only made things worse since it was dramatically slowing them down. And btw, you don’t need to Touch Bar to skip the ads, you can do that in the player in the Control Center too.
I mainly use my MacBook for music production and video editing but so far the Touch Bar is AMAZINGLY HELPFUL! equalizing and editing tracks has never been so smooth and seamless. (For me at least) it takes the function of a basic soundboard without any connections or additional purchases which suits my studio in a lovely way. Also helpful when using two displays and as long as I have no hardware issues with it, it’ll continue to be my favorite part of my Mac. Literally bought an older model just for the feature. If you don’t use your Mac for those purposes i could see how it’s annoying
The touch bar as been a time saver in Pycharm. You can customize it, add macros, code new features to it. I first hated it because everyone hated it, but when I actually bought a touch-bar macbook, I fell in love with the touch-bar.
Same here! Love the touchbar for Pycharm and also customized it with different sites like overleaf so I save a ton of time there too.. They say it's not for pros yet with the customization I did it's a lifesaver in those pro apps. I'm not upgrading my m1 mbp till they bring the touchbar back or my mpb fails me.
Honestly, I have been using my MBP 2019 with a touchbar, and it has been very great for me. I can quickly skip ads in yt, easily change font technicalities such as bold and italicize in word processing apps, freely choose emojis in chatting apps, enable siri fast, comfortably change things in photoshop, and most importantly adjust volume and brightness with sliders. I really appreciate the new functions brought upon by the touchbar, not to mention how it looks very cool and hi tech in public haha
Imagine a row of physical function keys that had little screens underneath it that could be remapped and the icon changed like the touch bar, but with physical keys? Sadly, it will likely never happen…
I love the Touch Bar, I bought a MacBook Pro the generation before they removed it. It makes the laptop feel more fancy and cool, I honestly didn't mind it taking up space for the physical buttons
I really wish they’d made computers with function keys and the Touch Bar for both the Air and Pro. It seems especially strange it was limited to the pro considering one of the more significant things it was useful for was for typing emojis easily, which I’m sure many Air users would’ve loved
They should've had it as an add on option. I would happily pay extra for it. Even though I have the new Macbook Pro 16 inch now, I still want a touchbar with it.
I have a touch bar and do appreciate some aspects of it. I think if they were going to get rid of it, they should have made the huge mouse pad into a second touchable screen that could be used with the apple pencils. Would work great with the Adobe suite. The current touchpad is glass and doesn't move so it would be possible.
I was super excited when the touchbar 1st got announced and thought I was going to love it, but In the end it added no benefit (for me at least) and was obviously much less tactile than physical keys, so I for one am glad they got rid of it. It’s kinda like the curved displays on smartphones, thought it looked cool initially but after using them realised flat screens are better. But props for trying something new. Good video.
exactly. In my workflow, hitting a shortcut, like cmd-R, is still faster than lifting the hand up and navigating to the right touchbar 'button'. With the exception of the audio control, and the lock key, have not found any use for it.
Curved screen not only benefits to the appearance, but also gives a slimmer, seamless feeling on touching when you hold it without dumb phone cases on it.
The touch screen is much better in my opinion. I never had a problem with mistypes. It felt clean and it felt like a phone and computer all at once. When doing editing, it helps even more.
As someone who owns both an M1 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, and the M1 Pro MacBook Pro, I really see the pro's and con's to both. There are small use cases I miss on my new Mac which make it feel like its lacking. Some controls in apps like Photoshop were handy, and the ability to scrub through videos and skip through RUclips ads using the Touch Bar is a gem of a feature I miss, that really makes the new Mac feel like a step back in that respect. I wish they made it an option on the new MacBook and they could have improved it with the bigger space for the keys. Overall though the keys on the new Mac are really really good, and the Touch ID for me at least is much quicker and more accurate so I can't complain too much!
the main thing I miss about the touchbar is being able to tap on the touch bar to put my mac to sleep without having to close the lid. Now with the new M1 mac, I had to create a keyboard shortcut to put my mac to sleep. Not as convenient as using the touchbar.
@@loki.8435 Why take the long way around? I’d prefer to stay in fullscreen so when an ad comes up, swipe and I’m done. They also made the media controls small enough to be a pain to click on since I’m so quick to skip YT ads.
I’m kind of hoping they keep the Touch Bar and rename the 13” MacBook Pro to just MacBook. It creates a new 3 tier structure, MacBook Air for (relative)low cost light weight computing. MacBook for people that need just a bit more power, battery, want a bit more tech like brighter screen and Touch Bar, but aren’t pro users that need massive power. And MacBook Pro for the people that need a lot of power on the go.
@@johnatkinson1111 That sounds like a good idea. To me, the Touch Bar was something “special” and besides a few glitches, I do really love the look/feel/functionality of it. I know, the functionality in Third-Party Apps was not crazy revolutionary, to be honest. But just the option to adjust the volume by simply sliding over the button is satisfying enough for me 😄 (Every Touch Bar Lover would understand)
the touch bar just allowed me to skip past the ads on this video, put emojis in this comment,, and seamlessly slide the volume to my liking. I LOVE MY TOUCH BAR. 🔥‼
I originally bought a MacBook Pro to produce music. I like the touchbar for things like word suggestions, volume, and brightness but that’s about it. Most of its uses are pretty pointless even with things like music production. A 2-inch slider is not precise enough to be used correctly. Even things like the emoji keyboard are pretty pointless. It is a good idea, you can essentially add an infinite amount of keys to a keyboard, but apple didn’t really do anything with it to make it worth it. They kinda just added it to charge you more money or to get you to come into the store if it breaks.
I love the Touch Bar! It was super useful for screen recording because the controls would pop up on the bar instead of having to press the esc key on the new ones!
i loved the touchbar and i feel it couldve been way better if they refined it. it was so glitchy and i think they shouldve added a "taptic" haptic system so that the buttons feel somewhat real and you can tell if youve pressed it or not as i always struggled with misstypes i didnt realise i made or accidental changes to brightness etc
Some features that Apple removed I miss. Touch Bar was a great win for me in terms of words suggestion in text typing. I love this feature so much on my iPhone and was really happy when got it in Mac. It was very convenient and easy to use. I also miss Force Touch
i feel like it's downgrade if i replace my macbook pro m1 to macpro m2 becaouse of missed the touchbar,, i really need the touch bar.. its helped me alot in my workflow
I never have tried the touchbar, but I can imagine how, with some customisation on the user part, like Linux users do with their computers, it could turn out to be a very handy feature
With BetterTouchTool you can add so many features. I have a folder with macros for word functions (word count, speech length calculations, lorem), one for screenshots, one for launching pomodoros… stuff you want to access routinely but not memorize shortcuts for.
I've got my M2 MacBook Pro almost 2 years ago, and I've never used the function keys. I love touchbar, it gives a totally different experience to use your MacBook. I think it could be much better if Apple offer you to chose as they did in 2018. There's a small group whose only reason to buy the Pro is the touchbar, as I did 2 years ago. A lot of my friends do the same thing, they don't need a MacBook Pro, but they buying it cause it have the touchbar and they want it. Honestly, I'm really dissapointed bout removing the touchbar, it's such a fun thing, and it would be such a better option if the users can decide if they want the touchbar or not when they buy a new MacBook.
*Imagine a world where they included the touchbar above ALL keyboards...while the still kept the Function row...and all 3rd party apps had reasons to develop codes for the Touchbar because it was standard across ALL Macs...*
I absolutely love the touchbar!! The quick access to the volume and brightness control makes it super easy to adjust. It also adds extra class to the overall macbook look!!
No way, Made it look like some cheap windows third world computer. Pretty much everyone that loves it is more of a phone/ipad person while the people that don't like it are real power users.
I think the Touch Bar may have been better as a hybrid. Either by having physical dimples in between the keys to give a tactile feel for the keys or by having physical keys with displays (like the streamdeck although im not sure the tech exists for customizable displays of that size)
I currently own a 2017 MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar, and I am a dedicated user of this feature. As a composer and music producer, I rely heavily on the customization options the Touch Bar provides, utilizing it daily as an essential part of my workflow. The ability to use it as a MIDI controller makes it an invaluable tool in my creative process, which is why I am reluctant to upgrade to a newer MacBook that lacks this functionality.
I’ll definitely agree with Apple. As someone who primarily uses his MacBook Pro 2017 for running Pro Tools, an app that has no Touch Bar support, I agree it was a mistake.
@Steven JMP Im telling you now man. Your gonna regret getting an intel macbook. at that point just get a hp spectre x360 14 which is great for the price range or a Lenovo yoga if your looking for windows software man. if not get a M1 macbook or those 2 great laptops
@Steven JMP i use a 13 inch maxed out macbook pro with m1, its lightning fast it can run windows through parallels and software compatibility is getting fixed quickly adobe and microsoft apps have the support now and davinci resolve runs good even through rosetta, you should definitely get one
I wouldn’t be able to answer that question unfortunately. The only MacBook that I’ve had was the one that I mentioned, which has an Intel processor. Granted, this was a number of years before Apple started using their own silicon. The next computer I’ll be getting is the minimum spec Mac Studio with the M1 Max chip, and I’ll be using it in tandem with my MacBook Pro. You know… After it gets fixed. It’s a long story. 😬
I had a 2019 MBP with Touch Bar for work. I never got used to it in the two years I’ve had it. Pulling off certain keyboard shortcuts relies on muscle memory and sensory feedback. I was never sure if a button got pressed on the bar without looking down, and that had always been frustrating. The bar then suffered hardware faults just over two years of use. The device itself had serious heating issues around the component, it’s what happens with powerful Intel chips and a laptop too thin for proper ventilation. I think it’s an intriguing idea, but ultimately quite gimmicky. Kudos for the innovation, and I’m glad Apple listened to user feedback.
It's a shame they removed the Touch Bar and reserved it for the MacBook Pro only - I would have loved to have it on my MacBook Air, I really like the Touch Bar.
I personally like the touch bar. Apple please bring back touch bar. It is very useful for Autocorrect or Autocomplete, It helps me to make my mike to go on mute w/o using mouse or trackpad and many more such features
I really would’ve liked the Touch Bar to stay. It provided some short cuts that I appreciated in my workflow. I understand that’s not the case for everybody but I really enjoyed it while I had it. The function keys are mostly useless to me and I appreciated the extra functionality of the Touch Bar even if it wasn’t a lot.
Honestly, I think people would’ve appreciated the Touchbar more if it had vibration feedback to simulate a button. It’s not a big deal for obvious reasons on a phone, but on a screen that is facing upwards, your face is TOWARDS the main display in front of you. You had to look down at the Touchbar to make sure you were pressing the right buttons which made it frustrating to use without having any feedback.
I personally find the Touch Bar very helpful. I got the 13 inch version just because of one reason: it is the only model that still has the Touch Bar in it. I would prefer the Touch bar to be added alongside the physical keys. Edit: SPAMMERS OUT OF THE REPLIES PLEASE!!
my issue is that I got the dreadful touchbar flashing issue with no way to fix it. It happened on its on with no fault from the user. Probably failed itself due to thermal and placement of touchbar
same, the touchbar bricked my macbook and it would randomly restart from the flashing issue. I was lucky to trade it in and they accepted it at full value (maybe employee didn't notice? ) before it fully shat itself.
btw, you know how there's a video progression display on the Touch Bar for when you are watching a video and it lets you skip to whatever part of video you want? Well, guess what? That works with the ads on yt, no more watching 30 seconds of ads just to watch a 5 minute video
i loved the fact that the touch bar shows the progress of videos and you can use it to scroll through them, even videos that don’t allow you to scroll through with your mouse (like ads). this made it so that you could skip every single ad that would come your way by just scrolling to the end. i think two years or so after the first macbook pro with the touchbar came out website caught on and patched this though:/ but i wouldn’t be surprised if there are still some websites where you can do this
I am a programmer and have a touchbar on my 13” Pro. I wouldn’t say it is essential but I definitely prefer that over regular F keys that barely ever get used. Some shortcuts that are pretty useful is when in text editing apps you can easily switch from bold to regular or change text color without touching your mouse or trackpad, running code in VS studio and Xcode, etc. Definitely would be nice to have an option to opt for the bar.
My favourite thing about the Apple Touch Bar is that you can fast forward RUclips ads (skipping them) without waiting for the skip button or if they're a non skip ad you can fast forward it. its a bug but never fixed lol
For the everyday users, they won’t remember what shortcuts are on the touchbar since the options change per application. Just a very convoluted idea unless you use the same applications everyday. While the function key still requires you to remember what you snapped to that key, it’s the same key stoke for every shortcut and doesn’t require you to look at the touchbar to make sure you press the correct one.
At first I understood why people didn't like the touchbar but then I actually got a macbook and its actually a nice feature. It makes the laptop look more premium and its actually useful. I like the way it adapts to the different apps you're using. I definitely use it especially for the auto-correct feature
My 2019 16" MBP from work had one, I really didnt like it. Too many accidental touches (while typing) where the brightness or volume just went down or up. Really annoying. There is also zero tactile feedback (obviously), so you really need to look at it to press the right button. I'm so glad they removed it. When these came out, I bought a maxed out 2015 15" MBP so it would last me for years and years so I wouldnt need to get one with a TouchBar. And when they finally removed it, I got a new 2021 16" MBP M1 Pro and got some of the great ports again too. Finally a good move by Apple.

Very disappointed to hear apple has gone away with it.
same here. i love the touchbar, even tho i hated it at first.
agreed. the touch bar is awesome
Apple will solve your problem.... by selling the touch bar as a separate device
my first week using the 16inch. don't get me wrong it looks and feels much nicer, but something about the Touch Bar I enjoyed a lot .lol
Please don't replace your macbook.
I kinda wished they still had the touch bar as an optional feature, like how you can choose which chip you want inside. I totally would have gone for the touch bar option, even of it was an extra $100!
RIGHT! I literally just said this
Big brains I like it! I have one myself for my computer and it’s so useful especially when you edit paper or watch a film
they removed it because of demand, so in the future, you should have to rise your voice
This is the perfect reason why Apple keeps underselling things. They strip out features that you are already paying for, and then charge an extra so you can get it again.
it definitely wouldn't have been only 100$ extra
I personally love the Touch Bar! It’s the soul reason why I bought the M2 MacBook Pro woh the highest specks. The touch bar is beyond amazing and it allows me to have a smoother workflow in the HR field! Also one of my favorite features is the ability to skip adds on Hulu, Peacock, RUclips and Pandora!
@@13gta you don’t actually have to click it before sliding, just touch the icon and begin sliding immediately. No need for multiple touches.
I mean most of the time it was just a funny gadget. Not really something „pros“ could actually work with.
I think it should be a option when you buy the MacBook
I never really understood the hate for the touch bar since it’s always been useful for me. Overall watching experienced was improved, easier to do my papers bec of predictive shortcut and tools, and editing software shortcuts. And not gonna lie I only really used that row for brightness and volume before it’s existence-which the touchbar does a WAAAAAY better job at in controlling.
I actually love the touch bar, I don't have to look up when typing and am blown away with the functions it does
I am the one who is actually in love with the touch bar and still wishes for them to bring it back to the newer models and not only for the older models.
It would be great if they make an option to ask the user if they want to get the physical keys or the touch bar, just like they did on the AirPods where they asked the user if they want the normal charger version one or the MagSafe one.
Exactly! Give us options.🙌
I absolutely love my touchbar in my 16” MacBook Pro! It comes in handy so much, I won’t get rid of my laptop until this comes back now.
hey it may be more valuable one day 😅
I feel the same. Will stay with my touchbar MBP and not upgrade until the bring it back.
You will be forced to one day. Me personally, I use it all the time and love it.

💯
Probably one of the things I love about the Touch Bar is the ability to change songs through Spotify without having to actually switch to the app itself. But sometimes it gets buggy too, like I can’t find the option to change the song on the Touch Bar or it doesn’t work. Don’t want to upgrade my first generation MacBook 16 inch now because of this function lol
If I’m right it works with the >> key on a traditional Mac keyboard as well.
Me too, i prefer to spend money to fix it instead
I love the fact I can receive and control phone calls while on Windows Remote Desktop without having to swipe back to Mac OS
Touch bar is the greatest thing to people doing presentation with Microsoft powerpoint.
It is just sad that some miserable people had to complain about it and made apple stop producing it 🤦🏾♂
Now I need to go back and fix my 13 pro M2 to get back into those good ol' times.
it rarely gets buggy these days with updates.
I like it too, and in 2017 they could’ve added some more stuff to it and fixing the problem of the virtual top row. I find the bar really fun to use.
Seems like a lot of people liked it 😅
They should’ve made it so you could have custom layouts depending on the app you were using.
Exactly the explanation I was looking for. Thank you for making it short and concise!
The point of the Touch Bar was to provide custom in app shortcut keys and custom keyboard function keys.
3rd party App developers never funded Touch Bar integration and Apple never funded Touch Bar integration so it basically failed.
The Touch Bar could have been great but no one wanted to fund (custom software implementation / user ease of use) to make it work.
this
Yep macs are already a segmented OS but then the Touch Bar was only on MacBook pros a smaller fraction of a fraction and just nonexistent for desktops, honestly I think an external keyboard with a touch bar above the function keys would be interesting
@@MicahAP514 You gave me an idea for my next project
Sincerely, for my use, the touchbar already works where I use it. Discord has shortcuts, Microsoft Office, Safari, Finder and all the Apple Apps. I love deleting files from the touchbar, changing brightness and volume is much easier and fluid, I can change text color with ease, mute myself, change tabs, search on safari easily. And it is all customizable. So, in fact, it has been a success for me.
There is still the problem that you need to look at it. If it was an additional row on top of f1 keys it could be useful gimmick, tho

Until soldered shut components on it fail and they will and you will have a doorstop
I’m gonna keep mine for as long as I can, ‘cause the Touch Bar is so fun to use.
Why I loved the Touch Bar:
> More customisability
> Shortcuts in supported programs
> I always use the touch bar to pick emojis
> PET GAMES
> I love the feel of adjusting volume and brightness
> It’s silent
> Scrubbing through videos without using the popup, which is way faster and aesthetically pleasing (used it a lot for watching reference videos as an animator)
> Skipping ads on RUclips
I rarely use the function keys (I have a separate Magic Keyboard with Touch ID) so I am reluctant to upgrade to the newer MacBook Pro.
It’s sad to see now it’s gone :(
It’s not that loud anyway; the physical buttons lol
It’s very easy to hate it because it was an absolute nightmare for touch typists, accidental strokes, zero haptic feedback, no tactile feel only made things worse since it was dramatically slowing them down.
And btw, you don’t need to Touch Bar to skip the ads, you can do that in the player in the Control Center too.
@@loki.8435 it’s quicker with the Touch Bar since you can just have the media controls always open

Me watching this video on my 2020 MacBook Pro w/ Touch Bar: i love this thing lol
If you don’t use your Mac for those purposes i could see how it’s annoying
what daw do you use?
The touch bar as been a time saver in Pycharm. You can customize it, add macros, code new features to it. I first hated it because everyone hated it, but when I actually bought a touch-bar macbook, I fell in love with the touch-bar.
ooo ikr!

Glad to see I am not crazy. Was thinking I was the only one who liked it
I hate it because of that flickering glitch that happens.

I wish they kept it and just did a half height F-Key row below… All the apps that have touch bar integration make it so great to use. what a shame
Nice, short and informative. I don't need a 20 minute video explaining why Apple did something. Thank you!
Tim Cook in 2030: we are proud to announce the Touch Bar on MacBook is back !
Yes even for me i love the physical buttons on my m1pro when i do my python stuff
@@MultiShiv19 you can add that button to the touchbar. Use the lock button, then it goes to sleep. I use it that way.

Yeah, me too, I wish they kept it as an option.

But just the option to adjust the volume by simply sliding over the button is satisfying enough for me 😄
(Every Touch Bar Lover would understand)
the touch bar just allowed me to skip past the ads on this video, put emojis in this comment,, and seamlessly slide the volume to my liking.
As long as the escape key is there, the touch bar isn't a bad deal. I hardly use the function keys, but that might just be my keybindings.
Some features that Apple removed I miss.
Touch Bar was a great win for me in terms of words suggestion in text typing. I love this feature so much on my iPhone and was really happy when got it in Mac. It was very convenient and easy to use.

you will change your mind if it goes bad
I liked the gen 2 Touch Bar more then the gen 1 which I have. Wish it would have been better adopted and I will surely miss it on my next machine.
I guess I’m the only the that liked the Touch Bar
Same here. I won’t upgrade my model anytime soon
Either by having physical dimples in between the keys to give a tactile feel for the keys or by having physical keys with displays (like the streamdeck although im not sure the tech exists for customizable displays of that size)
its back on the 2022 Macbook pro M2 13", I love it for volume, brightness, siri, emojis and so on
I currently own a 2017 MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar, and I am a dedicated user of this feature.

The only reason why I hated Touch Bar was because the escape key was built in the to bar. But until they made a seperate key I like it now.
Never owned a MacBook but saw the coming and going of touchbar from afar 😂

I loved the Touch Bar and would have loved to see it retained. I always found it really useful
Blud
I legit only use the touch bar for volume.
It's a shame they removed the Touch Bar and reserved it for the MacBook Pro only - I would have loved to have it on my MacBook Air, I really like the Touch Bar.

Sad it got removed. It made everything so easy. Just adjust your brightness or volume. Or find an emoji without using the keyboard.
Yep. I think a haptic touchbar would work well *above* the row of function keys
And btw, spammers out of the replies please!
my issue is that I got the dreadful touchbar flashing issue with no way to fix it.
That works with the ads on yt, no more watching 30 seconds of ads just to watch a 5 minute video
i loved the fact that the touch bar shows the progress of videos and you can use it to scroll through them, even videos that don’t allow you to scroll through with your mouse (like ads). this made it so that you could skip every single ad that would come your way by just scrolling to the end. i think two years or so after the first macbook pro with the touchbar came out website caught on and patched this though:/ but i wouldn’t be surprised if there are still some websites where you can do this
on my 2020 macbook pro I can still skip RUclips ads via the touch bar. this is probably the biggest reason I'm going to hold onto this laptop forever

The touch bar is the coolest part😅
The 13” m2 MacBook Pro has touchbar still…
For the everyday users, they won’t remember what shortcuts are on the touchbar since the options change per application. Just a very convoluted idea unless you use the same applications everyday. While the function key still requires you to remember what you snapped to that key, it’s the same key stoke for every shortcut and doesn’t require you to look at the touchbar to make sure you press the correct one.
i’m only buying that macbook pro for youtube, i heard u csn completly skip ads, and it’d just a bug so hopefully it doesn’t get fixed
I love my Touch Bar, I wish it was still a thing, I'm hesitant to upgrade just because the newer models don't have it
Well it’s back now ❤
my goodness, thank god
Finally a good move by Apple.
if you always accidentally touch it, your idiot in typing
the touch bar is helpful for skipping the ads of youtube that's why i love it
I like the touchbar but the volume controls and brightness controls were bad but had a few advantages, imo they should add it back but keep the function row and touchbar
I think the touchbar had potential and it's unfortunate to see it get discontinued
