Mac users have recently begun to run into an issue that prevents them from using MacOS effectively: When they try to turn their Macs on, they get a message that says, “A critical software update is required for your Mac, but an error was encountered while installing this update,” with an additional note that warns, “Your Mac can’t be used until this update is installed.”

you must work for apple. I did that swap once already for $1,500. Your car's water pump will be fixed is you buy a new engine! Find a board-level repair shop

Such a shame! While my Mac has been completely restored at an Apple store in January, since 3 months, I can’t use it without being connected to the power, close the screen or carry it closed while on sleep. It panics and restarts. But today it just doesn’t want to restart and give me the exact sam ESCEN a-t-il you described. I restarted on safe mode before seeing your video, made some cleaning with clean my Mac, hoping it will restart normally but it doesn’t unless I’m in safe mode. That’s really a shame

I ran first aid in recovery mode, i thought that worked to fix my issue but...... The next day i went to restart and no luck, i found the issue. I had failed to update monterey os. I was having more issues and could not start up in recovery mode to run disc utility but the disc was not the issue. I managed to startup with left shift held down after several attempts then i managed to go to about this mac, software update (app store was not working) then i ignored the recommended os and clicked on show more updates, then i found the missing update for monterey, this took around 30 mins and a few restarts, which it seemed to do on it's own. I was scared as my monitor was working and sometimes updates do not allow the use of the external monitor. Anyway. Finally this worked. no more error showing in startup disc in disc utility first aid when clicking on the top disc option.
[MY SOLUTION: 10.14 -> 10.15]
I tried all solutions online none of which worked for me. My solution was to make a USB installer of Catalina 10.15 (the oldest Catalina) and reinstall the system with it. My older system was Mojave 10.14. A genius bar guy told me the problem came from the incompatibility between hardware and OS.
So by installing the older Catalina which the touch bar did not even exist on it's not going to check for touch bar firmware correct?

Guys I fixed it, i just clicked on DELETE button when it says 2min or before this wifi window pops up and i got login prompt, i logged in again and it worked.
Didn't the problem happen to you again after that? Because my macbook also works after connecting to wifi and starting 2 minutes. but after 15 minutes it restarts again.

Thank you. This also worked for me. Question...You didn't actually say to renew the DHCP license. I just followed what you did in the video. Was it the DHCP license renewal that fixed the problem, or just logging in in safe mode to verify that the wi-fi was indeed connected? Just curious 😀 Thanks again.

If you have anything connected via USB-C, like an external monitor, unplug that and reboot again. My monitor was causing this issue.

What you do is before installing Mac os, go into disk utility and make a 2 gigabyte ms dos FAT partition, this makes what is called an EFI partition, this partition is what helps Mac os boot , by doing this the installer doesn't have to do it as it can cause an error that is silent.

It works but my whole computer screen like glitches and when I restart my computer I have to do the whole process over again.

I had same issues. First i tried reinstalling OS which did not help. Gave it to Apple. First they simply erased and restored OS which did not help. Then they took it again for "deep scan". A week later they called me and said the problem with touch pad. I ask why it is complaining about updating software than.... They said they can fix it by replacing keyboard, touchpad, and my old battery, all for $250. Sounds weird since in safe mode the touch pad did work..... also price of new battery is about $50 right?

and then connect with your wifi. I think this problem occurred because software required to update but can't connect to the wifi.

I read that this error is caused by a failed update for the touch bar...its something that's coming from apple but I want to ask if I unplug the touch bar will I still be able to use touch and power button??
@@lywill6832 the power button is not related to touchbar. It plugs separately.

What do you mean? How you fix it? Same model with touchbar I have but that option which on video doesn’t work for me

** NOTE **
Just want to point out the Firmware password has to be turn OFF when attempting to do this.
You can turn firmware password off by holding Command + R when turning the Mac on.
@@shaz1W sort of. It’s an EXTRA password on the MacBook. It’s toggled on/off in MacOS Recovery.
