Awesome build... I built my k24a turbo (turbonetics 78/75 , T4 1320 sidewinder, 60mm Wastegate) ek coupe for roughly 16k USD.. that's including car shell and everything including wiring, ecu, tune, etc. Car has 2 tunes..400hp for low boost and then a 550hp tune on 18lbs for high boost... on E85. It barely grips on 400hp, so 550 is stupid, but always nice to say you have 500+hp. For anyone that wants to build a turbo K, take your time, my build took me a year, to source well priced parts and labor.
Cool video Luke. Always nice to see something different. Can't get over the rattle can paint job...it honestly looks better than some professional closed door jobs...especially in black!
Nice ! Something a little different for you guys. I wanted an Awd civic but didn’t want to spend the money 😂 so I got an ES1 civic and swapped everything out of a gen2 crv. As mentioned people always underestimate the true cost of a k swap.
I have the same brake set-up on one of my GD3 Honda Fits. Very good upgrade for the low cost. I went with stainless lines, Brembo drilled rotors & semi-metallic pads for more bite.
My fav are Honda kids saying they're going to K swap for ten grand everything done. Yeh no worries lol. Thought it would make alot more power, I don't get why you bothered showing a base map vid. Hopefully you show us the final numbers. The pointer... I see someone loves best motoring videos lol, they're honestly the best 🍻
The video was about Tristan and his car that he just got running, the power figure isn't that important. It will clearly make more power going forward.
Good to see some more Honda content on fullboost. Keep it coming boys. K is the way! If you are looking for more turbo hondas to feature on your channel you should consider a roadtrip up to QLD this year. Theres a few quick ones up here. 101 motorsport has an ek hatch k24 awd, i saw it run 8s at the jamboree and also eg4x4 that is a regular at roll racing & kicks everyones arse, eg hatch k24 awd 900hp. Ive got a eg hatch k24a3 gtx3584 daily, similar setup to tristons, built all myself in my garage, but will be setup for drags/road trip events. Soon to be awd aiming for low 10s/high 9s.
Still untuned it’s just got a safe afr in it now we haven’t touched timing or vtec or any of the other settings the boost controller isn’t turned on either
@@TURBOTRISTO yeh I saw 7psi not bad, look into the 4 door ek hatch conversion it won’t hurt your awd conversion you plan to do and you would have a 4 door hatch rare as

I hate it people say they'll do an engine build/swap and it's cheap. An engine build easily exceeds over $5k I've built one engine and it's not cheap, lots of little things that add up. an engine swap into a car that doesn't belong usually exceeds $20k, especially if turbo charging it RUclips kilowatts haha it's so true. I'm all for modifying cars but don't tell me 'its easy mate, ten k and it's all done'
Yeah tbh that gets me annoyed as well. I’m currently in the process of dropping a k24a into a 93 mr2. People will say “oh it easy” and “it’s cheap” well that’s all relative i guess. One thing I can tell you is maybe I could give someone a pass on saying it’s easy but it ain’t cheap. I think if I was to do it again I’d buy a wrecked rsx type s or 6 spd tsx. I feel like that would have saved me some money. But as of right now I can safely say aside from the shell I got prob over 5-6k easy on parts alone because you ABSOLUTELY will run into unexpected costs.
Congrats Triston I’ve been watching FB for five years now and discovered TT 6 months ago I predict 750k subs in 3 years for TT and also predict 375hp now I seen engine better
yes it should idealy be within 30cm of the tb but i had this bov on my old set up and the flange was already welded on to the pipe, i was just lazy, it works fine though

Was only a matter of time for the American K swap madness to hit you Aussies. Was expecting the dude to be in his 20ies, rather than 40ies but guess that's coz you Aussies are late to the K party.
It cost me well over 10k to engine swap an LX Torana Sedan with a VN V6 EFI and TH700 box. The motor and box and loom came whole out of a wagon I bought, then parts parts parts. The torana was already painted, complete car, just pulled the dead 202 and gearbox out. Did it all myself, left side on the floor of my dads double shed, block and tackle, no hoist. This was 1998! $30k these days is probably cheap!
It's interesting how car's get their value. Like, you could try to sell me this car for $500 and I wouldn't buy it. It means nothing to me, but, it clearly means something to a lot of people.
UPDATE: Tristan's Civic was just tuned, on 12psi it made a very healthy 275kw (368hp)! Well done mate.
thanks fellas it flies now
