It used to bother me before, but after watching my mom fight breast cancer for the last 2 years it makes me LIVID to see people faking it. My mom had to take a chemo pill that the doctors called the Red Devil which made her so sick and miserable and she lost her hair. How can people even pretend that theyre going through something so horrible like what my mom experienced
They don’t know how it feels to experience hardships. They make their life seem harder for the attention they didn’t receive as a child. It’s not okay to lie about things like this, but there is obviously something wrong with the people willing to do this. People’s actions are rarely black and white. Things that are wrong, ARE WRONG. But you never know what pushed someone to do something so crazy. They could be severely mentally ill, which makes their actions not really done in a sound mind. Imbalanced or unhealthy brains can make people do evil & crazy things.
My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, she passed away 3 weeks later- 2 days before thanksgiving. She raised me because my mother was unable to. It absolutely infuriates me to see this. I lost my mother/grandmother so fast to cancer and it kills me to see someone fake cancer for attention. 3 years ago in the start of 2020 I had my right ovary removed from emergency surgery due to a softball size tumor on it. I don’t understand how people can play like this is a joke.
Actual cancer survivor here. I had it when I was 6. Kids are notoriously the toughest patients and most likely to recover... and I couldn't even attend first grade when I was sick. This girl running around pretending that she can do all kinds of things without slowing down while sick when she's not even sick at all makes me livid!!
I heard she told her mom that because of COVID, she couldn’t go with her to the center. Her mom and sister were just as shocked as everyone else. They’re mortified and embarrassed. I felt bad for them.🥺
And she had the feeding tubes hooked up to her chest, very badly with medical tape I can get from the dollar store. Like, sis, it's not all hooked up to the same place!
Not in the medical field but that "port" taped up mess and that tube awkwardly shoved up her nose and not losing her hair and that picture of the hair in the sink was clear cut instead of it just fell out
my mom has terminal cancer and she is harassed by so many people who question her illness then there are people like maddie/maddy who lie and get so much support. it's insane! i cannot imagine the darkness someone would have to have in their heart to lie about such an awful condition 💔

People take a look at us and for the most part think we’re ok then judge when they see we’re not. Invisible illness is rough because of that. You take care.
I was diagnosed at 15 with Osteogenicsarcoma. I fought for 14 years to reconstruct my leg and in the end I lost it. I’m disgusted beyond words about this girl lying. I suffered an abusive relationship a drug addiction and a dozen surgeries. I have two children now and have been clean for going on 3 years a new relationship and being in remission. ❤ keep fighting all those who are struggling with this terrible disease ❤ sending love and positive thought ❤️

I went to school with Grace Bunke, I was just a grade ahead of her. It was so heartbreaking to me when she died, and she was only 14. It hit me particularly hard in a “I barely knew Grace, and now I never will” way.
As someone who is chronically ill the Maddie Russo situation is so upsetting. A lot of us with chronic illness are accused of faking our symptoms or being attention seeking when we would want nothing more than to not have to deal with the horrible effects of our illnesses. Her faking this will continue these poor attitudes that we have to face and cast further doubt on our very real experiences.
So true. Living with an invisible illness turned visible due to a feeding tube and wheelchair (I have HSD -very similar to hEDS, as well as pots and gastroparesis as well as other issues to deal with). Trying to get regular people to understand is impossible. I don't think my now fiancé realised how bad my bad days were until we moved in together and I couldn't hide them any more. I think it's especially hard because we try and hide our symptoms to appear as "normal" as possible, or I know I do. I know I hide my pain and symptoms as best I can. If someone can actually see my symptoms, it's a really freaking bad day because I can't hide them any more. I fight so hard to appear normal as best I can. People don't understand.
Yes! She absolutely disgusts me. So many people are fighting illnesses every single day and not bringing attention to themselves and she just totally faked cancer for attention and money. She definitely deserves jail time in my opinion.

Always look for a medical bill in the pictures. It's pretty easy to tell if it's fake because hospitals use specific formats to discourage fraud, which is why so many people pull this as a fast one and people just believe them. And even so, GFM is maybe the only place like this that actually just gives people their money back if it turns out to be a scam. Other places you have to go through a whole beaurocratic shit storm just to get SOME of it back.
I think that too. I think she had a somewhat deep scratch and imo, that’s obvious from some of the pictures. But then for whatever reason she thinks having a scar across her face is cute and quirky so after the actual one healed and didn’t leave a mark like she thought it would, she just drew it on. That is so strange to me. Nothing wrong with facial scars, but why fake it or want something that causes a lot of people deep insecurity? My facial scar is tiny, people don’t even notice unless I point it out, but I obsessed over how I thought it ruined my entire face/smile.
It definitely looks like she draws over the scar to make it darker, even though a dermatologist did comment that it is possible depending on the persons skin type and how wide and deep the scar is on what color it will turn after healing.. almost looks like a keloid or mole.. you’ll. If you don’t know what a keloid is please look it up.. depending on the skin type, if the doctor didn’t stitch the scar well, or if the wound healed without getting stitches… it can develop a keloid.. and they can be dark brown.
I just read a rolling stone article and apparently they met with her to interview her and said it looked totally real, quote "flaky in certain areas, with scratched and broken skin underneath"... And she claimed it changed like that due to a chemical burn caused by a treatment she did to remove the remnants of the original scar. Not saying I'm defending her, just reporting on my in-depth five-minute research 😂
The Maddie thing is so sick. I am a two times cancer survivor. The mental and financial hardships, not to mention the physical are insane. I don't understand someone doing this.

As a cancer survivor and a niece of someone living with leukemia, I'm so disgusted. The suffering that I and my family went thru was devastating and for someone to fake this my mind is just blown.
Wow, as a nurse who works closely with cancer patients, I am flabbergasted. All through the flashes of her images I kept thinking about how plump and healthy she looked, obviously in good health. If she had any ONE of the things she claimed to have she would probably be emaciated and possibly even paralyzed depending on where her "football size tumor wrapped around her spine" was. This is such a shame and disgrace and an affront to all people who are suffering from a debilitating chronic or acute illness. SHAME ON YOU, MADDIE. there are just so many red flags, the healthy hair, the healthy weight, the nasogastric tube that's connected to a BAG OF WATER.

This is so devastating because as someone whose son is going through cancer treatments right now it’s so easy for me to poke holes in her “story” and her “treatments” but it’s sad because so many people really can’t afford their treatments and their life is at stake because of it.
My mom just passed from cancer in October so this really pissed me off. Real people are going through this and there are people out there doing horrible shit like this.
What sickened me the most about this story is that there are so many sick people who struggle financially while actually going thru treatments and she’s out here get almost 40k . She should get all 10 years!
As someone who has seen how cancer can attack so roughly, I cannot believe anyone would lie about such. My dad passed away last year 4 months from his diagnosis, it was very aggressive and fast spreading. Being his caretaker alongside my mom I cannot fathom why anyone would lie about that. He passed in June 2022 and I have memory flashbacks of his struggles everyday and watching the strongest man I know wither away broke me. For someone to treat it like that is disgusting.
I feel so personally insulted by the fact that person faked cancer. I have been in remission for years now, but the trauma still remains. The body and mind keep score. I literally have been debating all day on weather or not to schedule an appointment for a haircut because I am so traumatized by not having hair for so long.

I'm glad this topic is being discussed. I'm currently in remission and this kind of behavior is the reason why I didn't openly talk about my battle. Because of these kind of people we get asked if we're faking it to get attention or looking for money. I've been so scared of sharing my battle with people that I only told 4 people outside of my family. It shouldn't be this way but because of those people the real people who actually undergo the fight are scared to talk about it.

I'm from Davenport, Iowa, and my co-worker told me about it. I can't believe Kendall and Janelle are talking about news from Iowa! It's so cool and NOT cool at the same time because what she did was horrible.
I'm in Des Moines, and I'm definitely glad for Iowa to make the news over something that isn't a murder. However, as an Iowan, I vote to not claim this chick. Maybe Nebraska will take her. 🤷🏻♀️ On a more serious note, I've watched these kinds of cancers absolutely destroy my loved ones. It took one of my best friends at the end of 2017, and watching her die was the hardest thing we've ever experienced. I feel so deeply for anyone robbed of their lives or the lives of their loved ones.
As someone who had cancer last year I cannot IMAGINE lying about it. I was 1A1, it was treated surgically thankfully but prior to diagnosis and being cleared our lives were turned UPSIDE DOWN. My husband was devastated, I feared leaving my little girl behind and never seeing her grow up. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone, we were terrified.
Totally agree that 6-7 years seems like the correct sentencing for this girl. If she's 19, her prefrontal cortex should be fully developed by then, which hopefully between that and being incarcerated means she may have seen the error of her ways/feel some remorse for such despicable behavior.

New(er) subscriber here. Thank you for covering the Maddie Russo story. I haven’t heard about it anywhere else. I find it so disgusting that this girl would fake any illness let alone cancer. I lost my dad to pancreatitis when I was 28. He lost his job about a year before his death and had no life insurance. I had to sell most of his belongings just to bury him. I’ve had Crohn’s disease for 27 years now. It’s definitely nowhere near as bad as cancer but it’s definitely hard to live with day to day. And my aunt (who is like a second mom to me) is battling cancer for the second time. None of us have ever asked for anything from anyone (I’m not knocking people that do at all.) But here you have this girl faking something for attention and money. She should serve jail time in my opinion. Something is definitely wrong with her. Thanks for the podcast. Love you guys ♥️
My husband had a terrible time fighting colon cancer. He almost died from the surgeries and the chemo was awful. We have a go fund me and never shared it because we never wanted to ask ppl for money. This is truly a disturbing story I hope she gets the help she needs

I’m currently 25. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and relapsed in 2022. I didn’t drop out of my graduate program, and it has been hard emotionally and physically. Even now that I’m in remission again. Maddie Russo pisses me off beyond words.
Her family didn’t know she was sick. She defrauded a local charity that was set up for an anesthesiologist that I worked with who passed away from pancreatic cancer. Her mom is friends with that physicians wife, who overseas the Ohl, strong foundation.
This situation makes me so sick to my stomach. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on my 28th bday last year and I never created a go fund me… while I did have help from some friends and family, it has been the most disruptive experience of my entire life and my finances have not recovered. Every day is a struggle even after having the cancer removed, and it just disgusts me that anyone would fake ANY diagnosis, but especially that of such a terrible condition. There are real life people going thru it every day and the last thing anyone truly sick would want is to capitalize off the attention they get from it. It feels awful having to be off work and accept help from your friends and family knowing that they are struggling too financially, and to just rob innocent CARING people financially and emotionally… she is EVIL. I hope she gets serious jail time for this to set an example for those who think it’s ok.
Two of my closest friends have recently faced the most horrific cancer illnesses.Jeff and Sue mum and dad of two adult girls and 5 beautiful grandkids. 2020 Jeff gets diagnosed with leukaemia here in New Zealand , we supported him throughout covid, financially and emotionally. Jeff gets a full remission by late 2022 we are thrilled. Meanwhile Sue goes to the dentist for a sore tooth comes back with a referral to a dental specialist, he sent her for X-rays then a mri and she has a tumour in her jaw, weeks later a growth on her lung and then she felt pain on her in her hip, she is on oxicodon and fentanyl strips 6 per day… last week she fell and broke the head of her femur she had emergency hip surgery this week. How many go fund me sis she raising 0… Jeff asked for 0. This is actually cancer ❤❤❤ to all the survivors

My dad had a neuroendocrine tumor removed 7 yrs ago. Later I found out it was a stomach cancer, my parents would avoid using that term because I was in college. When someone’s loved one goes through such ordeals, it’s such a painful and scary ordeal. I honestly can’t believe someone had the audacity to pretend. Especially because you never know what could happen. Luckily my dads been in remission. But I can’t imagine the people who are going through it right now seeing this girl.

I always felt 7●Up and Sprite tasted basically the same (Lemon/Lime). My sister told me I was wrong, Sprite tastes like Cucumbers. Now all I can taste is Cucumbers. It is now used in our family when telling everyone what there is to drink. ..... Coke, Cucumber water, Dr. Pepper. Etc....
My cousin lost his battle to Leukemia at the age of 10. Seeing him go through that broke my heart into pieces. I couldn’t help him… 😭 then you have POS people like this. I can’t wrap my head around this.
As the daughter of a pancreatic cancer survivor, this is heartbreaking and absolutely disgusting. My mom had 21 surgeries in two years and still lives with the pain every day and constant fear of it coming back. This is just awful.
In just my immediate family my dad, grandpa, and aunt have all had cancer. There’s been others in my extended family as well, but I’m not exactly sure how many of them have had cancer as well. My dad and grandpa had skin cancer. It’s been probably 15+ years since my grandpa had surgery and hadn’t had any issues since, but this Valentine’s Day he’s having surgery again to remove some more cancer. My dad is doing great since his surgery, however that’s probably only been about 5 years. Just two years ago my aunt had a double mastectomy to improve her chance of beating the disease. That shit was BRUTAL. She couldn’t do ANYTHING and i honestly mean anything herself. My mom was basically her own little nurse. She bathed my aunt, changed her dressing and drainage, helped her to the bathroom, wiped for her, and she couldn’t even laugh or cough without it hurting for the longest time.
My grandmother passed away about 3 weeks after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis, it’s so crazy to me how people can lie/scam about something like that! People are crazy these days omg
As someone who had a very recent cancer scare (4 tumors on my liver that thankfully turned out to be benign) this makes me sick. I can't even imagine how this would make someone with cancer feel. Absolutely disgusting.
This is truely sick in the worst possible way. My aunt recently battled breast cancer, she had both her breasts removed and went for many rounds of chemo. The first round "red devil" took a bog toll on her. Loosing her hair and most of her outward feminity was really hard on her. By the grace of God, we found out this week she is officially in remission. It is sickening that someone would fake a disease that is so debilitating both mentally and physically. This is shocking.

I feel like people are weird now with go fund me pages Bc they immediately think “scam” … I made one for my bff who got shot four times and lived and has a young daughter and people just like ignored it. 😢 I just can’t get right with people who get this detailed and put it all out there of video clips and pics from the hospital that don’t belong to them or how she put her feeding tube like that to throw people off knowing I’ve had G tubes and crap up my nose and tracheas and breathing machines and so much more I never once had even the slightest energy to get on socials and tell people I was going to the “gym” and “golfing” but whatever!! Clearly she needs Jesus and I’ll pray for her. Heaven for bid she does end up w real cancer and no one believes her and she has no support that would be tragic . ugh rant over. 😡

WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK I can’t believe someone would fake cancer for clout!! I actually have stage 4 cancer and my odds are 11% chance of survival in 5 years and I cannot possibly believe that someone would pretend to know what it’s like to live with that feeling. How could she be so heartless and awful. I don’t wish this on anyone, but god I wish she knew how it actually felt. She would never even consider doing that again. I have been through 22 rounds of chemo so far and still going. I cannot possibly go to school and work on the treatment I’m on. I was diagnosed at 26 and the wrench it through in my life is absolutely devastating. I just cannot believe that anyone would do this, yet I know she’s not the first. Edit: I also have not lost all my hair because of the chemo I’m on. It has thinned, but I haven’t lost all of it. I don’t know if it being oral has anything to do with it, I just know that my drug doesn’t typically cause total hair loss, but I get it through my port in my chest which she seems to have faked having??? I don’t know why she would need one if it was oral chemo… she clearly doesn’t even really know what the cancer experience is like.
As a fellow Australian I LOVED watching this ep. And I’m SO glad for once the snacks that were put in that box were actually good. I’d get so frustrated watching “Americans try Aussie food” RUclips videos and they were eating Vegemite with a spoon or lathered on like Nutella. It used to bother me before, but after watching my mom fight breast cancer for the last 2 years it makes me LIVID to see people faking it. My mom had to take a chemo pill that the doctors called the Red Devil which made her so sick and miserable and she lost her hair. How can people even pretend that theyre going through something so horrible like what my mom experienced
my dad is a cancer survivor as well. makes me so angry
I had the red devil when I had cancer, that really is the worst drug ever. It put me in the ER everytime
I agree it’s infuriating. My son lost his hair before his second cycle even started he just has a few strands left now.
They don’t know how it feels to experience hardships. They make their life seem harder for the attention they didn’t receive as a child. It’s not okay to lie about things like this, but there is obviously something wrong with the people willing to do this.
People’s actions are rarely black and white. Things that are wrong, ARE WRONG. But you never know what pushed someone to do something so crazy. They could be severely mentally ill, which makes their actions not really done in a sound mind. Imbalanced or unhealthy brains can make people do evil & crazy things.
My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, she passed away 3 weeks later- 2 days before thanksgiving. She raised me because my mother was unable to. It absolutely infuriates me to see this. I lost my mother/grandmother so fast to cancer and it kills me to see someone fake cancer for attention. 3 years ago in the start of 2020 I had my right ovary removed from emergency surgery due to a softball size tumor on it. I don’t understand how people can play like this is a joke.

Actual cancer survivor here. I had it when I was 6. Kids are notoriously the toughest patients and most likely to recover... and I couldn't even attend first grade when I was sick. This girl running around pretending that she can do all kinds of things without slowing down while sick when she's not even sick at all makes me livid!!

I heard she told her mom that because of COVID, she couldn’t go with her to the center. Her mom and sister were just as shocked as everyone else. They’re mortified and embarrassed. I felt bad for them.🥺
For us peeps in the medical field it was sooo obvious she was faking. She had a feeding tube hooked up as an IV 😅 I was like wtf.

my mom has terminal cancer and she is harassed by so many people who question her illness then there are people like maddie/maddy who lie and get so much support. it's insane! i cannot imagine the darkness someone would have to have in their heart to lie about such an awful condition 💔

Sorry to hear about your mom. I wish her thé vert best. 💖 i need a kidney and am on dialysis. Your moms’ illness and mine are similar in the fact that it’s mostly invisible. People take a look at us and for the most part think we’re ok then judge when they see we’re not. Invisible illness is rough because of that. You take care.

I was diagnosed at 15 with Osteogenicsarcoma. I fought for 14 years to reconstruct my leg and in the end I lost it. I’m disgusted beyond words about this girl lying. I suffered an abusive relationship a drug addiction and a dozen surgeries. I have two children now and have been clean for going on 3 years a new relationship and being in remission. ❤ keep fighting all those who are struggling with this terrible disease ❤ sending love and positive thought ❤️

I went to school with Grace Bunke, I was just a grade ahead of her. It was so heartbreaking to me when she died, and she was only 14. It hit me particularly hard in a “I barely knew Grace, and now I never will” way.
As someone who is chronically ill the Maddie Russo situation is so upsetting. A lot of us with chronic illness are accused of faking our symptoms or being attention seeking when we would want nothing more than to not have to deal with the horrible effects of our illnesses. Her faking this will continue these poor attitudes that we have to face and cast further doubt on our very real experiences.

So true. Living with an invisible illness turned visible due to a feeding tube and wheelchair (I have HSD -very similar to hEDS, as well as pots and gastroparesis as well as other issues to deal with). Trying to get regular people to understand is impossible. I don't think my now fiancé realised how bad my bad days were until we moved in together and I couldn't hide them any more. I think it's especially hard because we try and hide our symptoms to appear as "normal" as possible, or I know I do. I know I hide my pain and symptoms as best I can. If someone can actually see my symptoms, it's a really freaking bad day because I can't hide them any more. I fight so hard to appear normal as best I can. People don't understand.
Yes! She absolutely disgusts me. So many people are fighting illnesses every single day and not bringing attention to themselves and she just totally faked cancer for attention and money. She definitely deserves jail time in my opinion.

Maddie is the reason I’m always so hesitant to donate to anything. You seriously have no idea if they’re lying and even if they are you’re gonna get gaslighted into feeling bad for questioning it.

There should be a platform that verifies your account and donate only through that platform. But that also might cause some more issues for the legit people. Idk 😭😭😭😭😭
Always look for a medical bill in the pictures. It's pretty easy to tell if it's fake because hospitals use specific formats to discourage fraud, which is why so many people pull this as a fast one and people just believe them. And even so, GFM is maybe the only place like this that actually just gives people their money back if it turns out to be a scam. Other places you have to go through a whole beaurocratic shit storm just to get SOME of it back.
I watched a dermatologist react to her scar. He thinks she really has a scar, but she adds to it to make it look worse/ darker.
I think that too. I think she had a somewhat deep scratch and imo, that’s obvious from some of the pictures. But then for whatever reason she thinks having a scar across her face is cute and quirky so after the actual one healed and didn’t leave a mark like she thought it would, she just drew it on. That is so strange to me. Nothing wrong with facial scars, but why fake it or want something that causes a lot of people deep insecurity? My facial scar is tiny, people don’t even notice unless I point it out, but I obsessed over how I thought it ruined my entire face/smile.
It definitely looks like she draws over the scar to make it darker, even though a dermatologist did comment that it is possible depending on the persons skin type and how wide and deep the scar is on what color it will turn after healing.. almost looks like a keloid or mole.. you’ll. If you don’t know what a keloid is please look it up.. depending on the skin type, if the doctor didn’t stitch the scar well, or if the wound healed without getting stitches… it can develop a keloid.. and they can be dark brown.
I just read a rolling stone article and apparently they met with her to interview her and said it looked totally real, quote "flaky in certain areas, with scratched and broken skin underneath"... And she claimed it changed like that due to a chemical burn caused by a treatment she did to remove the remnants of the original scar. Not saying I'm defending her, just reporting on my in-depth five-minute research 😂
The Maddie thing is so sick. I am a two times cancer survivor. The mental and financial hardships, not to mention the physical are insane. I don't understand someone doing this.

Wow, as a nurse who works closely with cancer patients, I am flabbergasted. All through the flashes of her images I kept thinking about how plump and healthy she looked, obviously in good health. If she had any ONE of the things she claimed to have she would probably be emaciated and possibly even paralyzed depending on where her "football size tumor wrapped around her spine" was. This is such a shame and disgrace and an affront to all people who are suffering from a debilitating chronic or acute illness. SHAME ON YOU, MADDIE.

I remember being a kid and putting a plaster (bandaid) on my head, pretending I had hurt my head. 🤣 I was eight. I feel like that's almost normal kid behaviour to a degree. Lying to get out of school etc. Not this.

This is so devastating because as someone whose son is going through cancer treatments right now it’s so easy for me to poke holes in her “story” and her “treatments” but it’s sad because so many people really can’t afford their treatments and their life is at stake because of it.

What sickened me the most about this story is that there are so many sick people who struggle financially while actually going thru treatments and she’s out here get almost 40k . She should get all 10 years!
As someone who has seen how cancer can attack so roughly, I cannot believe anyone would lie about such. My dad passed away last year 4 months from his diagnosis, it was very aggressive and fast spreading. Being his caretaker alongside my mom I cannot fathom why anyone would lie about that. He passed in June 2022 and I have memory flashbacks of his struggles everyday and watching the strongest man I know wither away broke me. For someone to treat it like that is disgusting.
I feel so personally insulted by the fact that person faked cancer. I have been in remission for years now, but the trauma still remains. The body and mind keep score. I literally have been debating all day on weather or not to schedule an appointment for a haircut because I am so traumatized by not having hair for so long.

I'm glad this topic is being discussed. I'm currently in remission and this kind of behavior is the reason why I didn't openly talk about my battle. Because of these kind of people we get asked if we're faking it to get attention or looking for money. I've been so scared of sharing my battle with people that I only told 4 people outside of my family. It shouldn't be this way but because of those people the real people who actually undergo the fight are scared to talk about it.

In all seriousness- thank you for covering both the important stuff and making me laugh my ass off- I am shocked by the story of Maddie the cancer scammer and I am so glad she is being brought to justice. Such a damaging thing to do for a community of people who genuinely need support from all of us, so upsetting. As we have seen with all social media over the years, I am hoping new laws or policies will come about due to this situation that help protect those in need.

On a more serious note, I've watched these kinds of cancers absolutely destroy my loved ones. It took one of my best friends at the end of 2017, and watching her die was the hardest thing we've ever experienced. I feel so deeply for anyone robbed of their lives or the lives of their loved ones.

As someone who had cancer last year I cannot IMAGINE lying about it. I was 1A1, it was treated surgically thankfully but prior to diagnosis and being cleared our lives were turned UPSIDE DOWN. My husband was devastated, I feared leaving my little girl behind and never seeing her grow up. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone, we were terrified.
Totally agree that 6-7 years seems like the correct sentencing for this girl. If she's 19, her prefrontal cortex should be fully developed by then, which hopefully between that and being incarcerated means she may have seen the error of her ways/feel some remorse for such despicable behavior.

New(er) subscriber here. Thank you for covering the Maddie Russo story. I haven’t heard about it anywhere else. I find it so disgusting that this girl would fake any illness let alone cancer. I lost my dad to pancreatitis when I was 28. He lost his job about a year before his death and had no life insurance. I had to sell most of his belongings just to bury him. I’ve had Crohn’s disease for 27 years now. It’s definitely nowhere near as bad as cancer but it’s definitely hard to live with day to day. And my aunt (who is like a second mom to me) is battling cancer for the second time. None of us have ever asked for anything from anyone (I’m not knocking people that do at all.) But here you have this girl faking something for attention and money. She should serve jail time in my opinion. Something is definitely wrong with her. Thanks for the podcast. Love you guys ♥️

My husband had a terrible time fighting colon cancer. He almost died from the surgeries and the chemo was awful.

I have been so obsessed with the sesh lately. Been watching Kendall since like 2015 and I feel like you guys are good friends of mine hahahah. Thanks for being so real I love it!
I’m currently 25. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and relapsed in 2022. I didn’t drop out of my graduate program, and it has been hard emotionally and physically. Even now that I’m in remission again. Maddie Russo pisses me off beyond words.
Her family didn’t know she was sick. She defrauded a local charity that was set up for an anesthesiologist that I worked with who passed away from pancreatic cancer. Her mom is friends with that physicians wife, who overseas the Ohl, strong foundation.
I love how Janelle goes right into the coffee syrups, Hazelnut and Irish cream are my GO TO!
This situation makes me so sick to my stomach. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on my 28th bday last year and I never created a go fund me… while I did have help from some friends and family, it has been the most disruptive experience of my entire life and my finances have not recovered. Every day is a struggle even after having the cancer removed, and it just disgusts me that anyone would fake ANY diagnosis, but especially that of such a terrible condition. There are real life people going thru it every day and the last thing anyone truly sick would want is to capitalize off the attention they get from it. It feels awful having to be off work and accept help from your friends and family knowing that they are struggling too financially, and to just rob innocent CARING people financially and emotionally… she is EVIL. I hope she gets serious jail time for this to set an example for those who think it’s ok.
Two of my closest friends have recently faced the most horrific cancer illnesses.Jeff and Sue mum and dad of two adult girls and 5 beautiful grandkids. 2020 Jeff gets diagnosed with leukaemia here in New Zealand , we supported him throughout covid, financially and emotionally. Jeff gets a full remission by late 2022 we are thrilled. Meanwhile Sue goes to the dentist for a sore tooth comes back with a referral to a dental specialist, he sent her for X-rays then a mri and she has a tumour in her jaw, weeks later a growth on her lung and then she felt pain on her in her hip, she is on oxicodon and fentanyl strips 6 per day… last week she fell and broke the head of her femur she had emergency hip surgery this week. How many go fund me sis she raising 0… Jeff asked for 0. This is actually cancer ❤❤❤ to all the survivors

My dad had a neuroendocrine tumor removed 7 yrs ago. Later I found out it was a stomach cancer, my parents would avoid using that term because I was in college. When someone’s loved one goes through such ordeals, it’s such a painful and scary ordeal. I honestly can’t believe someone had the audacity to pretend. Especially because you never know what could happen. Luckily my dads been in remission. But I can’t imagine the people who are going through it right now seeing this girl.

I live in Iowa and never heard of this until now. I just lost a friend the first week of January this year due to cancer. The fact that Maddie was stealing other people's photos is gut wrenching on top of it. This is absolutely disgusting.

Kendalls description of Hersheys chocolate reminded me of Dairy Queen ice cream…i read somewhere once that it tasted like spoiled milk and ever since i read that i can totally taste it - ruined the ice cream for me so now i’ll have to retry hersheys chocolate 😂
I always felt 7●Up and Sprite tasted basically the same (Lemon/Lime). My sister told me I was wrong, Sprite tastes like Cucumbers. Now all I can taste is Cucumbers. It is now used in our family when telling everyone what there is to drink. ..... Coke, Cucumber water, Dr. Pepper. Etc....

My cousin lost his battle to Leukemia at the age of 10.
Seeing him go through that broke my heart into pieces. I couldn’t help him… 😭 then you have POS people like this. I can’t wrap my head around this.
As the daughter of a pancreatic cancer survivor, this is heartbreaking and absolutely disgusting. My mom had 21 surgeries in two years and still lives with the pain every day and constant fear of it coming back. This is just awful.

In just my immediate family my dad, grandpa, and aunt have all had cancer. There’s been others in my extended family as well, but I’m not exactly sure how many of them have had cancer as well. My dad and grandpa had skin cancer. It’s been probably 15+ years since my grandpa had surgery and hadn’t had any issues since, but this Valentine’s Day he’s having surgery again to remove some more cancer. My dad is doing great since his surgery, however that’s probably only been about 5 years. Just two years ago my aunt had a double mastectomy to improve her chance of beating the disease. That shit was BRUTAL. She couldn’t do ANYTHING and i honestly mean anything herself. My mom was basically her own little nurse. She bathed my aunt, changed her dressing and drainage, helped her to the bathroom, wiped for her, and she couldn’t even laugh or cough without it hurting for the longest time.
My grandmother passed away about 3 weeks after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis, it’s so crazy to me how people can lie/scam about something like that! People are crazy these days omg
As someone who had a very recent cancer scare (4 tumors on my liver that thankfully turned out to be benign) this makes me sick. I can't even imagine how this would make someone with cancer feel. Absolutely disgusting.
This is truely sick in the worst possible way. My aunt recently battled breast cancer, she had both her breasts removed and went for many rounds of chemo. The first round "red devil" took a bog toll on her. Loosing her hair and most of her outward feminity was really hard on her.
By the grace of God, we found out this week she is officially in remission.
It is sickening that someone would fake a disease that is so debilitating both mentally and physically. This is shocking.
Anything with Kendall in it, I am watching!!! I absolutely love her!!! Time to binge this channel since I’ve already watched all of her videos on her regular channel!!
I’m so glad you and Janelle are covering this. This infuriates me!!! As someone w lupus who’s suffered greatly and had a ton of surgeries with no cure to no amends 😢and then my sweet daddy having three different types of cancer and he is currently beating the 3rd type ..I just can’t deal with these scams. I feel like people are weird now with go fund me pages Bc they immediately think “scam” … I made one for my bff who got shot four times and lived and has a young daughter and people just like ignored it. 😢 I just can’t get right with people who get this detailed and put it all out there of video clips and pics from the hospital that don’t belong to them or how she put her feeding tube like that to throw people off knowing I’ve had G tubes and crap up my nose and tracheas and breathing machines and so much more I never once had even the slightest energy to get on socials and tell people I was going to the “gym” and “golfing” but whatever!! Clearly she needs Jesus and I’ll pray for her. Heaven for bid she does end up w real cancer and no one believes her and she has no support that would be tragic . ugh rant over. 😡

Yeah Cadbury is English but Freddo’s were actually made by an Australian company in the 1930s, but it’s now owned by Cadbury 😃

The sanctions needs to stop it was already very hard on people but now after the disastrous earthquake its harder to help and rescue people plz help us spread the world and signing the petition. People are suffering and no longer have the will or patience and lost everyrhing please help us talk about this share it.

WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK I can’t believe someone would fake cancer for clout!! I actually have stage 4 cancer and my odds are 11% chance of survival in 5 years and I cannot possibly believe that someone would pretend to know what it’s like to live with that feeling. How could she be so heartless and awful. I don’t wish this on anyone, but god I wish she knew how it actually felt. She would never even consider doing that again. I have been through 22 rounds of chemo so far and still going. I cannot possibly go to school and work on the treatment I’m on. I was diagnosed at 26 and the wrench it through in my life is absolutely devastating. I just cannot believe that anyone would do this, yet I know she’s not the first.
Edit: I also have not lost all my hair because of the chemo I’m on. It has thinned, but I haven’t lost all of it. I don’t know if it being oral has anything to do with it, I just know that my drug doesn’t typically cause total hair loss, but I get it through my port in my chest which she seems to have faked having??? I don’t know why she would need one if it was oral chemo… she clearly doesn’t even really know what the cancer experience is like.
As a fellow Australian I LOVED watching this ep. And I’m SO glad for once the snacks that were put in that box were actually good. I’d get so frustrated watching “Americans try Aussie food” RUclips videos and they were eating Vegemite with a spoon or lathered on like Nutella. Good job whoever it was who gave you instructions 😂😂👏🏼👏🏼 also some other ideas for the Vegemite is: butter, slither of Vegemite and avocado. OR butter, slither of Vegemite and melted cheese on top.
