My recruiter hasn't gotten back to me since May 2020 and I tried calling him so many times and even in the office to speak to him and people at the office all said he wasn't available and that they were going to deliver the message to him. I tried leaving his voicemail but it wasn't set up. I tried texting but he never replied. I don't know what to do at this point. I have never heard anybody's waiver taking over a year and I'm losing my hope
You have to go to another recruiter office. I dealt with a recruiter like that before and in the end i knew he wanst the one to help me get what I needed. The Army is said to be the easiest branch to get in so finding a recruiter to help you shouldnt be to tough. I'm sorry you went through this experience!
kenneth mccuin Thank you for the reply. Every branch is different so keep trying even if you need to try a different recruiter. Show medicle proof! Anything can help your case that proves that your medically fit to join. Good luck and keep your head high!
I would say yes you would have a chance, many service members have depression in the military, I know this is very late, but I think you just need some medical waivers as long as if you show that you are not suicidal and can you remember certain patterns usually, that’s what I heard from another person is they make you do things in patterns as a test.
@@800Sonic fulfillment, purpose, opportunity, self inspired etc. I needed a break and that break turned into 12 years but it was fun, difficult you name it. However this what I do son 😁

That's dependent on the military needs tbh. I would try nd take a personal hearing test to see how it looks on paper nd see if they'll process a waiver with them results. I never had a hearing aid but was suggested to get one but refused bc I didn't think my hearing was bad. I found a way to pass nd got ship out months later.
Also for clarification "Military Needs" mean that usually at a time of year or under certain circumstances the Military may lacks some disqualification to meet certain manning or recruiting efforts. Every branch (Navy,Army,Marines, and AF) are different. AF may say No but Marines may say Yes.

I'm prior service Army served 3 yrs honorably from 08 - 2011. However I messed up in the Army reserves was labeled an UNSAT now I'm waiting on this waiver that's been taking at least 1 month I already cleared MEPS passed the physical and everything. I'm getting tired of waiting on the Army so I'm gonna just go into a Navy recruiter on Monday hopefully this process happens quickly since I already passed my full physical at MEPS.
Jana Smith I made the mistake and told them I was taking over the counter medicine because my wisdom tooth was hurting during the time I was down at MEPS. I passed the physical just had to get the dental work done before swearing in.
Thanks for sharing. I also failed the hearing test but in 1 ear. I'm applying for a waiver for the Marines. My recruiter seems to think it will be easy to be approved but I really don't think I'll get it.
I tried to join when I was 17 with my mom going with me to recruitment office. Had a juvinille defered adjudication when I was 14. Recruiter went to court house and got a paper that said "no record found" , went to juvinille center and got paper that said "arrested" "no record found" . Told me I had to go and get the files myself and I did thinking it would help my case. They wouldn't waive my charges. Should I have not said anything since their expunged/sealed? After that he just walked me out the door and didn't say a word and I haven't been back since. I'm 21 now and it's still something I want to do. Should I try another branch at another office but dont mention the juvinille defered adjudication?
Yeah I always recommend trying another branch bc of different needs. Sometimes depending on the crime they may want u to wait 10 but if it's not a felony then I wouldnt worry to much stuff could be looked over. If it get brought up again just get the minimum they want more is less less is more sometimes. I would get that paperwork that say u good on your record be upfront when u go back nd hope it's good I believe it should just my opinion
I started talking to my recruiter for a year now and never been to meps still... It keeps getting rejected for grammar errors. Its frustrating because i was promised to go 6 months ago. Im at the point of giving up. It doesnt seem like its ever going to happen and it it annoying my recruiter and her team that i keep calling and asking about my waiver..it seems like theres never a answer
I would try someone new recruiter, thats what I did. Eventually I had to try a different branch because it was Meps that would BS me. A year is way to long. Ive waited 2 to get in but I was trying out different recuiters after I waited like 6 months and than getting denied.
yo hang in there. it took me moving from va to texas (i had an opportunity and took it) to change recruiters for the better. it took me a little over a year and a half from when i first started the process to finally get to MEPs. I had a lot of paperwork i needed due my medical history. mainly an ACL surgery I had like 8 years ago. I'm finally sworn into the DEP but now im still sitting and waiting for a ship date.
Congrats!!! Same it took me about two yrs to get into meps once I got denied. Now Im a proud navy sailor. I hope you continue to work hard. I know youll get through it!

I lied about pot usage and tested positive at MEPs, if I try again will I do okay or is lying going to screw me over? I havn't smoked in 6 months at this point and have no intention of ever smoking again.
I am to young to talk to a recruiter but I am in the process of getting of Wellbutrin which is medicine for anxiety, I can officially talk to a recruiter in may which would mean I am 6 months off the medicine at that point, do you think my waiver will be approved if I get it or will it not? Great vid btw
I think you should be fine. I know a friend who went thru something similar and they told him he had to be off what he was taking for 12 months. You'll typically would wait 6 months to ship so I think they'll be able to work with you. And thanks I appreciate it 🙏🏾
Hey so i went to meps and i qualified medically all around. I was mentioned in 2 police reports but i was never charged at all. The meps doctor looked at them and dq'd me. But he didnt recommend a moral waiver he recommended a medical one(a psych waiver to be specific) it hasnt been 45 days yet. But my recruiters 1st sgt said that it had a note of not being approved. We still havent heard back about it yet so it might still be getting pushed forward. I just want to know what i should do in the meantime to help my chances of getting in.
In that situation because it isnt medical, in the mean time I would just stay out of trouble. I would had been like, "hey, in the past couple months I havent done anything that would change you guys opinion of me". Sometimes it depends on what you did and how long ago you did it. Keep you head up, tell me how it goes!
Not that I can remember but I known ppl who got a waiver for smoking it before. If I were you I'd try to see if they'll retest me and if not you'll have to see what they say. But a retest would be quicker if they allow it
That’s a general discharge, just wait 6 months and call up your recruiter, I would call them on the 5th month and they should give you a waiver to ship off again, because they have to show the recruiting command on why should they take you back in and are you still a worthy recruit, but you will have to wait about 10 to 15 more days before you really ship off. Also, just go hard and stay motivated.
hareth omari they usually take it to the recruiting command, I had to had a waiver when I was trying to join. Simple as tattoos being in the wrong places, your past, weight, security clearances, the recruiters usually take you to a building to examine you personally by their commanders, well that’s what it was when I was trying to join at the time.
Do you have an email address that I can email you at? Going thru waiver process with my son I don’t feel this is place to explain everything. You seem very wise and I would appreciate speaking with you. Thank you
Legal waivers depends on what's in the waivers and need for the branch you joining. For example, if the Army hit quotas for the month they won't be in a hurry to do extra papers sometimes. I'd say 60 days but contact them atleast once every two weeks. Goodluck
That's dependent on multiple factors like type of surgery, and military needs to some it up. Just make sure you have a good paper trail that favors you when you go. One doctor may give u a shot. Goodluck!
If the DODi standards say you qualify then they shouldnt say that you dont qualify for the military if that's what they use in their standard med boards. I would ask a recruiter too but that's just me. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate the support!
I’ve been trying to get in the army since September 2018 and it is now November 2019. I’ve been stuck in a waiver process due to a misdemeanor petit theft charge (I stole a cellphone when I was 15 years old) I am now 22. Still trying. Someone check up on me in a year lol.
kenneth mccuin it’s been over a year, and yeah I did go to another recruiter, and I’m kind of going through the same slow process but getting some more things done than the previous recruiter. Honestly about a month away of trying with USMC. But How’s your journey going man? I don’t even know you but I’m fuckin happy to hear you got through the process and made it in
@@gnastyguy7229 I happy I saw the light at the end of the tunnel but their thing I wish i was a little patient on. Like i should of went officer not enlisted. I would honestly ask you recruiter who is looking at my waiver is it meps and tell them you've be waiting for a year and need a answer if not I'm going to another branch. If meps the one looking at your file than you need to find a recruiter who's willing to go there and ask on your behalf.
Im in the waiver process right now because of my hearing. Im trying to go into the Marine Corps. I was permanently disqualified. My hearing is fine except for my right ear. Youre supposed to hear 4,000 hertz at 45 decibels and i didnt hear it until 55 decibels. Do you think my waiver will be approved? Again its only in my right ear
I was in the same predicament, It going to be base off of what the Marine Corp wants to except or not. It'll be hard, if it come back negative try another branch and if that issue carries over you may have to wait 2 yrs like I did.
Usually with those it depends on how recent it was and what you did. Sometimes the military likes to see whether or not you have a history of it and if it could happen again.
@@JohnattanRivera1984 My guess you should be fine. Military has been down recruiting so if your branch giving you problems, first I would try a few different recruiters than maybe another branch.
The Navy at this point should be begging ppl to join lol. It's up to your recruiter and MEPS to get it done and approved. But I personally believe you'll be fine. Hope this helps
When I failed I didnt know how to do the test at first. I didnt even knew I failed the first time when I took it the second time. I eventually was given I third try 3 yrs later and past barely. It's all depends on the needs of the branch you want to enlist in.
Sorry I took this long replying. Well you can but it depends where is home and you chain of command. Some dont mind others do. Normally if your flying you'll have to take leave if driving then you'll be okay.
I currently just started the waiver process, do you think they’ll approve me, the doctor at MEPS claimed the scars on my arm were self inflicted and I got disqualified
Tbh I wouldnt know but a waiver means they looking into it. I would at least show documents if you have them, maybe get a doctor to annotate where the scars came from. If you cant do that you'll just have to wait and see. Hope this helps
It happens when you do your medical testing at meps and week one of bootcamp, you pee in front of them and if you can’t they’ll only give you three tries in meps before they say disqualified, we’ll in NC.
Google says 5'0 or higher for men and 4'10 for women but there's a waiver for anything. I would ask a recruiter tbh. Remember u don't have to accept one person opinion if it's not what u want to hear with recruiters
I got convicted of 2 misdemeanors for possession of marijuana you think I can get a moral waiver for them they are over 6yrs ago and haven’t been in trouble scince
That would be up to whosoever looking into to your waiver. Could be settled at any level (Lowest or Highest) of your waiver process. Me personally I would think you'd be okay but that's me. Every branch is different too what might not cut it for one may slide for another.
Yea I’m praying what kind of exercises should I focus on to as well I frequently go to the gym 4 times a week I do mostly cardio and Calisthenics (pull ups, pushups, crunches and hanging crunches ) any tips on that bro?
You hit it on the nose with cardio and practicing core and arm strength. PT is easy for ppl who works out on a daily. I'd say try jogging getting your 1.5mile time down. Everything else is cool.
Tbh I dont know but I was told all waivers shouldn't take longer then 45 business days. Ask you recruiter once a week on the progress with your waiver is what I'd do
