This video was helpful as I've recently decided I want to join back up and get my commission as an Officer (you know, cuz Russia is a thing right now). However, I have an RE-3 code as well on my DD-214. Luckily it states 'condition, not a disability' on there which I hope to use to my advantage. I really want to get back into the Corps. I had about 9 days left of boot left at MCRDSD back in 2021 and made a bad comment I shouldn't have and still regret it.
I got the re-3f from the Marine Corps I'm hoping its been 2 years now so I'm hoping I can go back into it especially with what's going on right now I got out for my legs so medical

I got denied because I have a concave chest and Crohn’s disease. My concave chest doesn’t impact me at all it’s purely cosmetic. I’ve been to 3 different doctors and they all said the same thing and I ran cross country and track/field for 6 years. Crohn’s disease was a misdiagnosis and I had to go to several doctors to get it cleared off that it was a misdiagnosis and I have no history of it and I still got denied. What a joke
I’m in the process too , I already did the letter now I’m just hoping for some info I have medical and asvab done it’s just waiver for the discharge too
I was busted down to E-3 and chaptered out for punching another soldier when I was deployed. Someone reported it the next day. Was out 7 months later. I tried to fight the chapter and stay in, but still lost. I tried hiring a lawyer out of pocket but little did I know, it was already too late into the chapter process in terms of fighting to stay in. But he can however upgrade my discharge to honorable which he is working on. It’s like a 8-month wait though. I got a general under honorable. I thought I was gonna get a RE4 but it was RE3 the day I got my 214. They told me I can come back with a waiver.
Thanks for the video and wise words; they serve as motivation because it’s VERY hard to get in contact with my recruiter. Haven’t been to MEPS yet but my recruiter submitted my applicant statement about 9 weeks ago. Haven’t heard a thing about that yet and when ever I ask my recruiter about it he doesn’t answer me. I text him about updates and he gives me nothing. Trying to stay positive and patient I do wish my recruiter would text me back when I text him tho even if he has nothing to tell me; it would go along way in keeping me motivated. I have an RE-3 due to failure to adapt and need an age waiver too. It feels like it’s been forever and I do get frustrated at times but like I said I’m trying really hard to be patient and be prepared physically to go to MEPS and to score well on the ASVAB.
I am currently facing the same thing. I have a RE-3 due to failure to adapt/erroneous enlistment, i have an uncharacterized discharge. I got discharged in 2015 and have been trying to reenlist, it’s been about 8 years for me as well but I pray that everything goes well with me and I pray that everything went well with you as well.
@Bobby Manuel goodluck to you. I've been trying to re-enlist since 2013 with an re-3 code. I've went to every single recruiter near and far and none would be willing ro help me. The Army National Guard did though.

I know it's going to be a lot of work and a long process, but if I can get the job(s) I want, it will be worth it.
How did it go man? Did you get back in?
@@Dylan_Lassiter Lol I actually was able to get cleared and everything, but then I got the opportunity to do the H2F program in the Army and felt it was a great way to give back.
@@mr.wiggles7535 that’s awesome to hear!! I got out of the navy in 2020, been trying to get into the army but I have an RE-3G reentry code, so seeing this video and the comments has given me some hope since my recruiter said it might be a long shot
How did it go? I have the same code from the navy @@Dylan_Lassiter
I really want to get back into the Corps. I had about 9 days left of boot left at MCRDSD back in 2021 and made a bad comment I shouldn't have and still regret it.
Great video! Thank you. Just gave me some hope and motivation to work.
I got the re-3f from the Marine Corps I'm hoping its been 2 years now so I'm hoping I can go back into it especially with what's going on right now I got out for my legs so medical
I received the same code about 4 years ago. Trying again now and super anxious to get started. Have you talked to a recruiter yet?
Definitely interested in how that went
I ALSO HAVE THAT RE-3F AND ITS BEEN 2 YEARS NOW IM READY TO GO BACK
@@赵光素same haha
I been thinking army guard or marine reserves. The marine recruiter says it would be “an extremely long process” for prior service.
How long we talking?
I got a RE3 though, and former active army
I got denied because I have a concave chest and Crohn’s disease. My concave chest doesn’t impact me at all it’s purely cosmetic. I’ve been to 3 different doctors and they all said the same thing and I ran cross country and track/field for 6 years. Crohn’s disease was a misdiagnosis and I had to go to several doctors to get it cleared off that it was a misdiagnosis and I have no history of it and I still got denied. What a joke
I’m in the process too , I already did the letter now I’m just hoping for some info I have medical and asvab done it’s just waiver for the discharge too
What was ur discharge??
How long did it take to get your waiver?
Took me a month and a half to get mine
I know it's a year later, but how did it go? Hopefully everything turned out favorable for you!
hey hope you were able to re enlist, i am currently in you shoes
I am currently facing the same thing. I have a RE-3 due to failure to adapt/erroneous enlistment, i have an uncharacterized discharge. I got discharged in 2015 and have been trying to reenlist, it’s been about 8 years for me as well but I pray that everything goes well with me and I pray that everything went well with you as well.
@Bobby Manuel goodluck to you. I've been trying to re-enlist since 2013 with an re-3 code. I've went to every single recruiter near and far and none would be willing ro help me. The Army National Guard did though.
Thanks for the information! I needed this. I was lacking the steps but now
I know! Appreciate it
Same here general discharge from gaurd looking to re-enlist at 32. Trying to see if i can go active duty though. Had some chaotic years but i have most of my discharge packet.
Got a re3 and a honorable discharge I’ve been out 10 years I kinda want to go reserves
Great advice thanks
Who told you the RE-3 meant ineligible to reenlist?
This was Great, Congratilations:)
My packet was fully submitted for reenlistment.Got an RE3 with a JKQ for “serious misconduct” ex wife said I beat on her.Obviously I didn’t cause my commander signed off on my papers and I didn’t get an ART15 or a counseling but still got seperated. So I have my fingers crossed. It’s at the Provost Marshalls rn.So idk what’s gonna happen.I’m nervous cause I want back in again so Fukin bad.
How did it go, I'm curious myself because I have an RE code 3 with a JKA "pattern of misconduct" that's bogus and able to prove. I'm currently going through the process but curious on what to expect.
My son got the same thing RE3 with JKQ and now wants to go back in. He has been out for 4 months but wants to go back in. How did it work out for you? Any advice?
@@itsaprojectbro2257 I have the same code. How’d it work out for you ?
ptsd re-3
RE-4 is actually the worst and not able to re-enlist. RE-3 is the one that says requires a waiver. Otherwise, great video.
Thank you
I got a re-G3 honorable in the navy. Recruiter is routing my waiver up for navy reserves I hope it works 😢
You should look at Army CID in the future if you love law enforcement
Damn, I got lucky, my process only took 3 months to reenlist. Had some Hella motivated recruiters.
What was it for? I got discharged from the guard for weed and my active army recruiter told me he can deff get me in with an RE3 waiver.
What was your code for? I’m hoping mine takes as long as yours!

RE code 3 is not the worst one. That would be RE code 4. You can get back in with a 3 with a waiver. I got an honorable discharge with the NG with an RE code of 3 due to mental health.
I got a RE 3 due to mental health as well so is it possible to still get back in ? I was army and I want to go navy!

I received a RE-3F from the Marines with a JGA reason code. Has anyone else had this and been able to get back in?
I had this but many years ago. I personally moved on but if you want you can contact many different recruiters. If one says no contact another. You may end up contacting a 100 recruiters if that’s what it takes. Recruitment has been down in recent times so that’s a benefit to you. Kudos to you for wanting to go in and complete it. Good luck.
RE-3G mental health temp condition no longer an issue what do i do
did u get back in bro?
Yes tell us that was mine
How likely is it that I get back in with an RE3A I’m going through the process now
Hey I know this is a long shot, but I have a RE code 3 and my VA phycologist said I needed to be reevaluated again, but she didn't find me unfit or fit. Should I be reseen in town or keep pushing of another reevaluation threw the VA or what about MEPS ?
Wish I had a recruiter that’s willing to work with me. The way the Army treats people sucks ass.
