My mom worked 3 jobs to support my useless biological father and me when I was a toddler, survived several car accidents, and kept the family together when the her mother the matriarch passed away, and made sure I never went hungry before she met and married my stepdad, who himself is just as hard-working. My Mom is a strong woman, not this bullshit they trying to push out! My Mom never complained. These are little girls trying to play at being strong. The first sign of hardship and adversity and they fold and crumble.
People like your Grandmother truly had wisdom and knowledge. I used to really enjoy talking with and listening to them !

Thus the average people of the country must want woke. The pandering is done because based on social media you would be led to believe that the alphabet people are the overwhelming majority of the US population. As it turns out though they are an absurdly small section of the population who just won't shut the hell up after they get what they want because the goal post will always move to the next thing endlessly until either society falls apart and we are conquered by an entity that is what we used to be or humans go extinct because there are no non alphabet people left to make new people. Having served in the Air Force I can tell you right now, the military does not give a rip who you were before or what your ideals are, all that matters to them is that you can do the job and perform. Since I'm no longer in the military I can say this: all this woke bullshit, is making us soft. Our warrior ethos is disappearing from our culture.
They're recruiting cannon fodder probably to rally up real troops by saying
Xe/xer fought stunningly and bravely (for 2 seconds). Lets honor their sacrifice and give the enemy whats coming to them
Chinese ad: "We fight as one, for even if that means leaving your family to fight for your nation and together we will reach the space and stars."
Russian ad: "Leave your past behind, for you'll be forged in fire to overcome your self and your own limitations when the enemy comes."

@@merdicmagic6171 China actually has poor military training with their equipment, compared to Russia and USA. Even then, Russia doesn't have much of a better fighting force, as their large amount of tanks are mainly tanks that don't even work anymore. Quality is better over quantity.

Wanna see a strong woman? My grandmother's mother died when she was little child, she had been raised by a malicious stepmother. My grandmother survived world war 2, and her whole family had been deported from their home when she was a young girl after the war. All their belongings had been taken away. Their country, their house, their farm, they lost everything, and moved to a new town in Hungary with only a suitcase of clothes. She survived the nazis, she survived communist oppression, she survived economic depression after the collapse of soviet union. She'd been robbed, she'd been beaten up badly. She buried her husband, she buried her son. Whatever happened, she stood strong, when se fell, she stood up, when tragedies happened, she moved on. And at age of 92, her body is maybe weaker, but her spirit and willpower is still incredibly strong. Now compare that recruitment fairytale with the harsh reality, and define the strong woman.
Well she’s certainly strong, no arguing that. But to get to the point: I think “strong” is relative, given circumstances. It’s not a fixed spectrum of strong or not based off certain achievements.

@@R4peisgood Branch jumping is fairly common when your enlistment is up. It's called "inter-service transfer". I've seen quite a few Marines end up going Navy to finish out careers and such. Generally people don't go TO the Marines because their basic is hard as a mother fucker and everyone has to take it. I mean, it DOES happen, I'm sure.

This is basically a quite weird angle that theose recruiters try to portray the motivation for entering service should be.
I mean, here, in Eastern Europe most people who actually join the military are doing so out of two reasons: we got the ultra patriotic guys who genuinely see themselves as the defenders of our culture, religion and our values; and we got the guys from impoverished backgrounds who found a way through the military to escape bad socio-economic conditions (and I totally respect those guys, you know, thinking of it, they could very easily have retorted to doing crimes to achieve the same thing, but it was their social concience which drove them to do something more honourable than simply harming people through crime for some petty amount of money).
In the US, and especially through this video's approach - it seems so weird - they portray going into the military as a means to fulfil some selfish and very individualistic ambition. It's not about my country or about my people who I love, it's about ME. This video shows a priviledged girl who was so bored of her cosmopolite existence that she wanted a new thrill, a new thing to thick on a list of "what makes ME special and I can brag to other people with", it is evn made a point that she compares herself with other women her age, and thinks, "well, sheesh, that girl I know just climbed the Everest (regardless of how much of a useless achievement that is de facto speaking, if you are not some geologist or something else in the field), I bet I can do better than her".
Like sure, whatever with that LGBTQ stuff, inclusion yadda yadda, it gives some flair to the video, but it's hardly relevant; it's about the message that joining the military out of selfish ambition is a thing to be cherished. No it's fucking not. If you don't care about anyone but yourself and your ambition, you make for a poor soldier and a poor role model.

@@inigo-montoya The Romanian army does have rigorous psychological tests that are required to be passed before one can be enrolled. So it's highly unlikely that an unstable psychopath will actually get in the army.
I remember when I got incorporated at 18, I took the test (basically I had a psychiatric evaluation), and the shrink did actually note a certain anxiety that I do admit I have. It got included into the final document.
Stable individuals though? I don't know, maybe, but still, they are kind of rare I would guess.

I did the entire three years of AFJROTC in high school, got a degree several years down the line. I went into another branch (not Army) who just had a better deal (direct E-4 & duty station) in my specialty, than the Air Force. Made E-6 in 3yrs. But I still respect the AF. I personally hold the PJ's in equal tactical (higher medical) status to the SEALS. And the SAC Air Police aren't to be pfhucked with. I've always found that the majority of disparaging comments are made by the uninformed, or the downright retarded. Re: this Army "recruiting" video...Army shooting itself in the foot again.
