Watching Brooks reaction to these victims is nearly impossible to watch. His blatant disrespect is appalling. He sheds no tears, rolls his eyes and refuses to look them in the eye. His arrogance will surely afford him the punishment he deserves by his fellow inmates.
Shame there is no one to give him a Columbian neck tie.
I am so disgusted by Brooks it’s hard to contain my anger. I feel so sorry for all the victims and their families and the community of Waukesha. I want him to get the punishment he justly deserves and then some. I’ve had it with his disgusting antics.

As I'm watching this, I keep thinking what could his family possibly have to say on his behalf. He shows no remorse what so ever. He's just evil. Pure evil
If I was his mother I would use the time to apologize to all the victims. I would say that it was a double edge sword because an abortion would have prevented this from happening and the life of a small child. However I do not believe in taking a life, something my son doesn't believe in.

I don't know why people think prisoners care about anyone killing people!! This is just a myth guys! Maybe back in the 80s or 90s. Life is different now... I know for a fact because my baby boy was violently murdered when he was only 4 years old!! 💔 My heart has been broken ever since. 😭 Nothing happens to anyone in prison... Now if a person owes money or drugs to another inmate then yah they will pay someone to beat the crap out of them. But other than that they don't care... You would be surprised to know that some prisoners make over 200K a year while in prison!!! They sell drugs on the inside.

This state does not have the death penalty. You are probably confusing this jury with a recent one in Florida..
The jury was unanimous in finding him guilty. Wisconsin sadly doesn’t have the death penalty.

To watch the utter disrespectful behavior of this breathing enigma is hard. These victims have had a dreadful year and experience, yet he appears bored and completely unbothered. I hope Judge Darow gets his attention once she imposes his sentence. He is a person that should be locked away.

I mean, he's getting to hear how many peoples' lives he's ruined!! So, I think the court shouldn't allow him to have this "luxury"!! Understand what I'm trying to say!!? That is, he didn't even consider what he was doing.
With 'this kind', I think he's in pure denial of responsibility for his actions.

He has 'compassion' for them as if something bad happened to them that was not 'his fault'.
It is cathartic for the victims to let them have their opportunity to freely speak their minds, and "for the record."

So, does a judge have the power release a defendant without sentencing?

I think there's a minimum penalty for life in prison for having been found guilty of willfully killing others in this case?
What other sentence does the judge have the authority to give?
@@RLaraMoore Each guilty verdict in every criminal case requires a sentence. In this case each of the 75 guilty verdicts requires a sentence. The severity of the sentence has guidelines set by legislative law. I am not familiar with Wisconsin law; however, many states have set guidelines that include the wording of " not less than x amount of years" " up to x amount of years". The Judge has the discretion to set the sentence within those guidelines. The Judge also has the discretion of running the sentences to be served at the same time (concurrent) or to have sentences set to follow one after another is completed. (consecutive).
In addition, the Judge has to determine if the entire sentence must be served with the opportunity for early release to supervision on parole or if the sentence will be served in its entirety without consideration for early release or parole.
The the victims are giving statements to inform the Court of the severity of impact on each person, each family and the community and asking for the severest penalty possible allowed by law. In this case, it could be 100s of years if run consecutively. They are asking that early release not be a consideration. Brooks will try and balance these impact statements by providing witnesses that will speak to his character, possible mental health and impact of not being able to look forward to having him eligible to come home at any time in his life. This will fit into what the Judge must balance when choosing the sentence for each verdict.
