    Great value! Thanks for doing the works. Just want to add something that is also something you need when starting a commercial cleaning business. More often than not, you will form a team to clean establishments. So you should also add background checking applicants in your checklist. It takes a lot of effort, trust, and work before you can convince someone to let you walk into their office or home unsupervised, so make sure to be a trustworthy business to keep long lasting relationships with your clients.

    Great Info! I use microfiber rags for polishes furniture or stainless steel, blue surgical rags for break room or glass doors and a terry cloth for restrooms.

    Use the bowl cleaners that contain 23-26 percent hydrochloric acid when you need to remove mineral deposits or urine stains from a urinal.

    • @thejanitorialstore
      @thejanitorialstore  3 года назад +4

      Thanks for sharing Scott.
      A best practice is to start with a lower percent acid to remove deposits and move up from there. 23-26% acid is a strong acid and needs to be used with caution.
      In some cases you need that strong of acid to remove the deposits but make sure it does not come in contact with any surfaces because it will damage them.

    • @islandblind
      @islandblind 3 года назад +1

      @@thejanitorialstore You're right. Any strong acid or alkali needs to be treated with great respect. They can cause a lot of damage to surfaces that they are not intended for. Of course, they can also burn your skin or blind you if you get splashed and you're not wearing PPE, as you should do.

      Tell everyone you know about your cleaning business, ask if they know anyone who could use your services.
      Join a networking group to build relationships with other business owners.
      Create a flyer and a business card to give to prospects.
      You might do some free cleaning for a nonprofit and use them as a reference.

    • @thejanitorialstore

      From experience I know water based stainless steel cleaners take more work to get the great results we want. Petroleum based stainless cleaners apply much easier and faster.
      When deciding on a product we should review the SDS sheet for required PPE, etc.

      @@thejanitorialstore so do we have to supply everything?

    • @thejanitorialstore
      @thejanitorialstore  3 года назад

      @@kyngpapi You could have some clients that will have equipment and supplies. They are only looking for labor. But that is not the norm. The issue with using clients equipment and supplies is who will maintain it? With supplies you will have different chemicals you will need to train your employees on. Try to keep things standardized at all accounts.
      With equipment when something breaks down who will repair it? When you don't have control of the equipment you could be sitting without what you need because they don't put high priority on the repair leaving you to figure out how to get the job done without it.
