At last!! Also, throughout your entire Let's Play, I've noticed how you place our attention to things we probably didn't notice when we first played this game. You know, the details of the story and the way certain mechanics work.
Thank you so very much. I couldn't figure this out myself, and no one I asked seemed to know. I'd missed that I still even had the glyphs from the ages.
In Edanna's first puzzle with the dry beanstalk, you truly see Nature encouraging mutual dependency. Here's how I think these plants would've worked originally (I think the sunshade plants weren't originally there): The pod collects water, and deposits what it cannot drink for itself in the pod. When the sun rises high, the lense-plant focuses the sunlight, and the pod bursts open, sending the water onwards to the beanstalk. Thus one plant collects water for another with the help of a third.
There are a couple of other examples of mutual dependence in Edanna. For instance, the grossamery is fed by the lotus fruits, the seeds of which are spread in the bird's droppings. (I presume that there are other trees or land on Edanna, and the plants in the tree we visit were brought there by birds or drifted in on vegetation mats, just like in the real world.) The light-emiting spores probably also have a symbiotic relationship with the tongue ferns: The spores generate light for the tongue ferns, which in turn synthesize something that the spores cannot make on their own (maybe carbohydrates or proteins).
@XXxOPRIMExXX Seconded. Riven's "grand puzzle" structure is simply mindblowing and that age is *full* of lovingly assembled and coherent details and features.
haha like how in the hell Sirius built all that stuff in Spire. I think theyre both really good at simulated first playthroughs and I enjoy watching the both of them. I first saw Dilandou3000. He didnt do Myst 3(yet, if ever) so I watched shadyparadox. I liked shady so much that I also watched his RealMyst playthrough. Props to both. lol.
I respect shadyparadox lets plays because he puts a lot of work into making it a simulated first playthough, and i enjoy that because hes not wandering around for hours trying to figure out where a switch is, and that can be frustrating watching someone playing for the first time. The biggest reason I don't like dilandau3000 is because he points out all the hypothetical flaws in the game especially in Myst revelations, in almost every video, and it becomes a really negative experience to watch.
@XXxOPRIMExXX No, Dilandau300 (the other guy I assume) talked about how he and Shady have an agreement to separate the Myst LP's. Dilandau got Riven, Revalation, End of Ages and Uru, Shady got Myst and Exile. Try ThePhantomSafetyPin's Riven LP.
I saw you posted dirk nowitzki highlights on your channel. Is the reason you think spur is an ugly word because you're a mavs fan? That would be hilarious lol
The one for Love looks like two sperms being all affectionate and nuzzling eac hother... at least that's what it looks like to me. XD Kinda cute actually..

Ah haha, I'd nearly forgotten about this Let's Play. Good to see you back! :)
Ha, I really love seeing these videos in my subscriptions Shady P. thanks for making them.
Thank you so very much. I couldn't figure this out myself, and no one I asked seemed to know. I'd missed that I still even had the glyphs from the ages.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS I WAITED FOREVER THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh that light puzzle is cool!
@GalaxyGuy12 I considered mentioning that system because of the dependency there, but I couldn't figure out where the mutual element was.
YEEEEEEE HAWWWWWW YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!!
ThePhantomSafetyPin's playthrough of Riven is really good.
@XXxOPRIMExXX

Notice that you need to add an s to the zecond work in each mesege to make it sound proper.
Ahhh, the ending approaches. This is just so intense!
And I see you took advantage of the ability to have videos longer than 15 minutes. Very nice.

I'm confused. Wasn't Saavedro wearing one of the tapestries? Or did we just not need that one?
after this lp whats next more myst or not?

The symbol for love looks like playful quotation marks.
Atrus could teach about the ages...but damn, could he not handle his kids right. Too bad for Saavedro. Still, gotta get back the book.
anyone notice that the voltaic symbol looks like a man checking his muscles with his butt facing you?
define spur "Cause or promote the development of; stimulate"
I saw you posted dirk nowitzki highlights on your channel. Is the reason you think spur is an ugly word because you're a mavs fan? That would be hilarious lol
The dynamic symbol looks like a baseball with a mouth.
@XXxOPRIMExXX He can't because he & Dilandau3000 (if that's who you're talking about) made a deal to split the Myst series.
The one for Love looks like two sperms being all affectionate and nuzzling eac hother... at least that's what it looks like to me. XD Kinda cute actually..
Love glyph 69
@XXxOPRIMExXX agree
Can you please do Riven, the other guy who does it isn't as enjoyable to watch.
@halfdude you made that sound cute >.>
