this is one of the rare plugins that sound good on paper and work even better in reality. its become my fav drum machine right now after using it only a couple of days. (used to use polyplex for a lot of the same reasons) theres a lot of features and functionality that can still be added to this in future updates, but the way it works now is already brilliant. the randomize buttons for the patterns and sounds alone are so inspiring. love it.
@@BFHPET not a huge amount, but it does have a good amount of well programmed patterns, mostly electronic styles, so there is not a whole lot of acoustic styles (which i use ezdrummer for). the patterns however are easily modifiable within the plugin. its a joy to play around with. i mostly either program drums myself or modify existing ones within the daw. (patterns can be exported into the project via drag n drop)
Just downloaded the trial today and it's already completely changed the way i go about music. I've got tones of found sound and foley textures that can now be easily arranged to come up with crazy percussion rhythms

I bought it and I was freaking out because I thought there was no option to export stems into DAW on different tracks.You don't explain it there directly about the stems but you do about the kit so I tried and pressed ctrl while dragging the stems and voilá!! No more freaking out, money well spent and this is definitely what I'm going to stick to when working with drums.
Not sure if they fixed this but you used to be unable to hide the built-in one-shot sounds in the 'cloud' view, which is something you'd want to do if you only wanted to choose from your own sounds.
Around 170 Euro is extremely much for something like this BUT... after trying it out for 2 days i`m so mind blown by this fresh access to my samples and the fast and easy workflow... i will buy it.
14:33 only request would be to render each lane as a *loop* and not just a one-shot. Otherwise super cool plugin. Been using Atlas, but this seems way more feature packed. $180 is a little steep tho IMO. Any discount codes available anywhere?? :)

Atlas with a sequencer...I have a feeling NI Battery is going to implement these AI things in the newer updates like everyone is implementing wave tables now in their synths...whatever gets the job done ✅
Personally I switched over to this from Atlas and have found the sample sorting engine to be much better. I have no interest in the sequencer, I imagine some would appreciate a discounted version with just the sample map.
@@summakore I personally love the idea of a sequencer implemented into the program, it's a real workflow enhancer. But your idea would be great, especially if it had an additional upgrade path, aka if you buy the sample map only version you could upgrade later.
Just spent my second 5 minutes and that's all it takes to see that this is a pretty incredible plugin! I will be using this to make MPC kits, having all my samples at my finger tips is dream I never knew I had cone true!!
That looks like the T-SNE clustering algorithm! really cool seeing ML stuff being developed into user tools. I think we are going to have our minds blown with some of the potential applications of GANs into user tools in next 5 years or so.

This seems to be massively inspiring. I am just starting today but it already really looks great. Especially cause I got so many different drum sound already additionally to the great sounds which are on board. I can easily switch to another similar sounding drum sound with one mouse click. Or I can replace all sounds with similar ones. Or I can use so easily different patterns. That's amazing!
Amazing plugin i really love it and i ve been using ot for almost two years. I have a short question, Is there a way to control the pitch of each hit playback and not only for the whole pattern, for example i may want a hi hat to hit different tones and pitch in the right hand side pattern and not only one pitch for all of the sequence. I have a lot of MIDI patterns that I've created that I'd like to import if possible. The advantage of having the MIDI inside the VST is that you can use the Beat Combiner to create variations easily. Would improve the value of the product for me.
now say u want to eq the kick by itself or the snare etc, within the daw, to further sculpt the sound, now that's where the trouble starts, you'd have to have 2 copies instances of the plugin open, one for the snare ad kick
You can do a number of things. 1. Export the stems of each channel or 2 route any of the channels out externally to their own channels in your DAW. - JC
Can you export individual "tracks/instruments" as individual wavs on separate tracks in your DAW? For instance, do a beat in XO then export just the kick portion of a beat to its own track as a wav in the DAW.

it is awesome!one thing is missing to make it flawless. draw your own patterns in the 12 rounds and save @t much as i know you can modify the patterns, but if you go to the next and then back, there is the initial pattern again!bummer

Yes. You need to hit the "timer" button at the top of the plugin window. This will sync the plugin to the BPM of your DAW and start/stop with your DAW's transpose control - JC

They need to make a version of this plugin that is JUST the AI organization of drum sounds. I would totally get that. I don't need ANOTHER sequencer. But yeah, considering I literally have hundreds of thousands of drum sounds, it would be really nice to have them organized into one easy to pick-through and well organized conglomeration. The fact that the AI organizes them based on how they actually sound is the only reason I want this, if it was any other metric of organization it would be useless.
Have you tried Loopcloud for that? It has built-in AI that automatically tags anything you import. Then you can use its search, browse and filter features.. plus, customize anything as well. - JC
Sequencer? Nah, I prefer Old School Grooveboxes. But its library of sounds is something out of this world. Even if you're like me and not into the UI as much, - the trial version will allow you to download its entire .wav sample library free and if you decide not to go ahead and purchase it - you will still have its entire sample library to use in any DAW Groovebox of your choice. LOL If anything, NI would have considered this a serious oversight, let people who didn't pay for full version use the entire sound library elsewhere? Are you kiddin' me? We don't even allow license transfer on our hardware devices like MIDI controllers!!
Why IS THERE NO 808 category--- needs to be 808's category in default drum instruments AND have 808's patterns working in random groove generator. This would be priceless for Rap/HipHop/TRAP Productions. I didn't hear any Trap or HipHop beats in this XO video overview.
You could find an 808 and load it for your default kit. Then XO will give you other options close to the 808 in the randomizer. You can also search for "808" in the search feature. - JC

Can you share how extensive XO is in terms of randomizing unique drum grooves. Is it even close to what Unison Drum Monkey can do with their extensive algorhythm drum groove randomizer?

It sources your ENTIRE library of one shots. The guy in the video just had a bunch of dance/breakbeat/techno samples in his library. It pulls the one shots from all devices you have connected.

Figured it out, twas a graphics issue, had to add a text file to the settings folder, no_opengl.txt

It has a lot of potential BUT it’s expensive and has too many techno sounds IMO. It’s nice that it can be used as a stand alone app
It sources your ENTIRE library of one shots. The guy in the video just had a bunch of dance/breakbeat/techno samples in his library. It pulls the one shots from all devices you have connected.
Algonaut already did the exact same thing 1 year ago, and kinda better.
Algonaut got a sequencer and midi export? And they both got the idea from Google
