Sean, I'm a guitar player that couldn't play a beat if my life depended on it. I bought this program and was extremely intimidated by it. You have been a godsend. Thanks isn't enough. Excellent video.
You rock man! I really appreciate the way you cover this material. I'm a drummer IRL who's been constantly frustrated by the way the drums sound in my DAW and it seems EZdrummer (and maybe later I'll graduate to Superior Drummer) is the answer. Your tutorials have been extremely helpful!
Great video bro! I have a synth oriented channel who just bought EZDrummer 3 and even though it's really easy to learn this program, this video really helped! Cheers
Insanely good ------ I am so impressed with your teaching ability. Efficient, great presentation style, wonderful production values, organized. Everything. Thank you.
I just got EZdrummer 3 and just checked your video, understood the potential of this software and I'm literally happy crying. Why didn't I buy this sooner omg. Awesome video, thanks so much for it!
Thanks so much for this introductory EZD3 video. Your instruction is excellent. Without your video I would have quit with the 10-day trial but now I'll be buying it.
This guide is a fully professional and, most important, a fully objective (rather than hype marketing) review and guide. It fits with the high standard Shootie has set across all his work with Toontrack products. A great supplement to the more "bare bones" material provided with the product.
Just bought ez drummer 3 today and while I spent and hour getting my head around it and managed to get some cool grooves going, you've just saved me a few days. Excellent video. Subscribed
I just discovered EZ Drummer today. I play guitar and bass. I have no clue about drums or how to play them. I do have an Alesis drum machine. I have trouble reading instructions that are sometimes vague and then trying to learn how to physically do with the drum machine. I was thinking the other day of Music Generator that I had for PS2 and how it had tracks you just drag and drop and why couldn't someone make something like that for DAW I watched this video and boom! There it is. I am going to try out the 10 day thing but most likely will be buying this and have already subscribed to your channel. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
After a few years, I finally just got myself an ekit for the house, a new Mac and EZD3. Your videos are super appreciated mate. Subscribed. Thank you🙏🏼
Thank you, every one of your videos are so complete and easy to follow. You make using all of toon track products more productive for all of us old Technology challenged.
Ok, I have to admit that I was totally unimpressed with EZDrummer 3. 0:37 I’ve been using an old Alesis HR16B drum machine for my originals. Very time consuming since I “played” my own segments and chained each to make a song. Hard to tell it was a drum machine! Anyhow, bought EZ-3, and started “working” with it. Right. Then, as I was searching info on how to use this and make sense if it, I found your channel. Just gotta say, you saved me from plugging in the ole Alesis again!! With your knowledge and straight forward tutorial videos, looking forward to working with my new drummer!
I've been looking at the screen of my new ezd3 for 3 days... I barely touched the basics. This video makes me feel as if I have a firm grasp in just 30 minutes. Thanks, Man. Subscribed and will be binging your videos.
Another excellent video. Shootie School always delivers the best Toontracks training. And, Shootie playlist straight. If he likes something, he says so. If he believes something can be improved, he says so. Thanks for all the great training.
I just want to say thank you. Your videos are so good man. I was able to pick up EZ drummer 3 in just two days with your help and have already started making some videos for my new channel. Thank you dude!
Shootie school is the best for toontrack products he has helped me expand my knowledge and learn so much I don’t know what I’d do without his tutorials to be honest, we should all share his videos to our fellow musicians
Thank you! I learned a ton with your simple to follow video, excellent teaching style and super cool of you to share. I've been using ez drummer for a few years (v2 and now v3) - such good execution on user interface, not to mention excellent quality for music production.
Even though I've been working at EZDrummer for a couple months now, and thanks to your great teaching skills I've already tackled a few intermediate and even advanced features, but there were a ton of things in this cool video that I had completely missed. I don't know what I would do without all your great guidance on not only EZDrummer, but also EZKeys and EzBass! Thank you very much Shawn!!!
Just subscribed right now! I haven't bought EZDrummer 3 yet, but it seems this is just the software I'm looking for and I'm pretty sure already your videos will be a great help when starting out.
I just found your site. FANTASTIC brother! I’m so glad to have found this. I literally JUST installed EZ DRUMMER 3 last night, but I won’t be opening it until I get up. I’m so exited about this program I can’t sleep in. I wanted to hear some info about it, and BOOM, there’s your site! It sounds like you’re an original rocker like myself which, I’ve got to say…is rare today. I really, really look forward to pushing my e drumming to the extreme. I’ve been a live drummer for my adult life….which is a LOOOO-OHHH-ONGGGG time. I feel like a tortoise, just plodding along….but absolutely enjoying the ride. I have a good feel about this site so, let’s see where this will take us. All the best to you, and warm regards brother.
I have been watching RUclips tutorials since the very early days, and I can say, without doubt, this is the best presented and delivered I have had the pleasure to sit through. Plain English speaking, well measured (well, you are a drummer!), at a pace that is easily digestible (particularly if you have EZD on a 2nd screen). By the end of the video you are good to start putting a drum track together (and more). Thankyou for this. I look forward to your more in depth videos.
I was using a trial version for testing and it was a confusing product. Your explanations clarified it greatly and I am now a purchasing customer! Excellent overview of an oddly-laid-out product, made it instantly useable!
I know I've watched some of your videos before... but I don't think what I watched was related to Toontrack. However, I just bought EZ Drummer 3 and upon searching for tutorials, you came up. Just finished watching this. Amazing work.
I just got ED3 for my edrum and was amazed at how plug and play it was considering I have pretty much no experience with VSTs. Your 30 min video did such a great job explaining its features, I'm amazed at how quickly I feel comfortable with the software.
I've been using Toontrack products for a year now, and making music has never been so much fun. Your videos are the perfect companion to such amazing software. Everytime I watch one I learn something new. Rock on Shootie School!
This is so helpful! I just got EZD3 and Reaper and I've been trying to rapidly learn both so I can start recording again, after a decade being out of the music production game. I will be following your content closely during this process, appreciate you Shootie!
Sean, you are by far the best person to go to when explaining these toontracks software. I am a drummer myself but had to sell my kit several years ago for $ I needed. Kept my guitar and keys and still love creating. Buying Easy Drummer, Easy keys and Easy Bass gives me the back up that I need when I have ideas ripping through my mind to lay out and manipulate very easily in the process as if I am working with real musicians. Mind you nothing compares to being with real talent behind the instruments to play along with but when you are in situations when you are on your own? You definitely don't feel as alone with these products. Oh and there's room for some silliness here. This is definitely you. The G.O.A.T. when it comes to your expertise on this subject 🐐 😁✌🏻 Thank you Brother! Cheers!
Sean this lesson is GOLD! EZ has been sitting on my desktop laughing at me, mocking me, until now. Your teaching style is awesome! Thanks so much for your content!!!
Shootie I gotta tell you man, that last feature was the selling ticket for me man! all I've wanted to do was add some beat to my songs and I am not willing to pay a producer to do it and share 50% of my royalties just to add some drums - I have a wood set of drums behind me but my headphones cord doesn't reach to over dub and its not always easy to just bang out drums in the odd hours of the night so thank you so much for your guide I will be purchasing this software souly for that feature alone "Bandmate!" 🙌
Dude. Thank you. I just started watching this and i'm already a big fan of your conversational style. I've owned this software forever and am just now diving in. Your help is invaluable.
This is awesome! I'm still on EZD v2, but seriously considering an upgrade. Really nicely produced video, I will re-visit this once I have upgraded. Thanks Mr. Shootie!
Superb! I am new to EZ Dummer, I'm a songwriter not a drummer, but this overview has really got me going and excited about my purchase of EZ Drummer. Thank you, you are a great teacher!
I'm so glad I found this channel ! Easy to follow instructions and lessons that seem to be geared towards absolute beginners like myself. Thank you, and keep it up !!!!
Your speaking pace and clear pronunciation is a real pleasure to a non native english speaker as myself. Thank you very much. Is this something from you or a comon attribute of the US región where you come from?
Thank you for saying, Ivan! I think this is how I speak while on camera and after a few years of making videos. When I am off camera, I do not articulate very well :)
Awesome vid! I've always just used my drum machine to control ez drummer but i think i need to rethink my game plan. This opened a lot of ideas. Great vid looking forward to watching more. And your voice is so chill haha.
@@ShootieSchool is there a way to import my drum machine beats (from arturia drumbrute) into ezdrummer so that i can use them as a starting point for making ez drummer beats? Do you have a vid on that?
@@ShootieSchool it isn't a plugin it's a stand alone drum machine. I can use it to trigger ezdrummer beats but when i push PLAY on the drum machine it doesn't pick up on ezdrummer. It'd be great to have the midi signal from the sequencer sent. I have selected send midi from the sequencer (and it plays in ezdrummer) but it doesn't record it into the mapping... If that makes sense.
This video sold me. You covered things that I wondered about but couldn’t really find solid info on. I can’t wait to dig into your other videos. But first I’m off to download the software.
Hi Sean, (good Irish name 🙂) thanks so much for your tutorials. Older guy here and struggled a bit with understanding all the options available in EZ3. Thank you so much for all the superb work.

Anybody watching this will not only get a fabulous tutorial on EZD 3, but also an insight into what it takes to be an excellent tutor/instructor. Mightily impressive (and helpful, as I've finally upgraded from EZD 2). Only one word for this, my friend: Exemplary! Great job, Sean...
You've sold me on this piece of software Sean. Great explanation and good vibes on your channel after watching a couple of your videos! The whole Toontrack bundle seems really good for solo songwriters.
3:41 Let me enlighten you. They were all recorded at Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin. The only room not used was the Meistersaal - the Masterhall. For orchestras and such, so yeah... Bright Room is the Marble Room. Main Room is the Live Room. Tight Room is the Vocal Booth.

One of the best, if not the best tutorial I’ve ever seen. Concise, well explained but with the right level of detail, articulated, and with great examples. Thanks for taking the time for making these videos. Definitely supporting your channel. Rock on!!!
I am watching this during my lunch. I can’t wait to go home and mess around with my EZ3. I’ve learned more in 1/2 an hour than I have since I downloaded it a couple years ago. Thank you so much for the tutorial! 🤘
Terrific intro guide! I consider myself an intermediate user (though your videos are quickly getting me to advanced). But I always watch even your beginner videos and here is a perfect example of why. I have completely ignored the Library Presets feature that you explain starting around the 9:00 mark. I guess because I have focused on the Grooves and other areas. That is an amazing option and your demo of it covered the presets perfectly. Rock on! 🤘
You're very good. Points are clearly and concisely made.. The 'chapters' feature lets the user quickly find the answer to their particular situation, without having to 'surf' through the whole tutorial. You leave your ego out of the tutorial. Too many other tutorials, have too much time spent on the instructor making the video about themselves, and how 'smart' they are. You get to the point, and focus on delivering information. APPRECIATE THAT
Loving this tutorial so far! Your explanations are very clear and easy to follow, Really appreciate the in-depth explanation. You're doing a great job breaking it down! Just 5 minutes in and I've already learned so much. Thanks for being such a thorough teacher!
Awesome intro! Thanks for making this. I just got EZ Drummer 3, my first Toontrack software. I play guitar and need good drum tracks, and I’m hoping to ramp the learning curve quickly so I can get to making music. Your video was perfect for me to get the info to get started. Love your teaching style. Pace was perfect.
Everyone enjoys playing with professional drummers but when there is songwriting inspirations those drummers may not be around. EZ Drummer is always ready.
Hey Sean, thank you so much for this details tutorial. The bandmate section is so cool if you're a guitar player like me that don't know how to play drums and want to make your own music.
@@ShootieSchool I was talking to a friend in San Diego (-I’m in South Florida) and he was mentioned something he did in Reaper that he learned from you. I need to sign up for your EZD3 course: tech easily overwhelms me. 😊

One of the best, if not the best tutorial I’ve ever seen. Concise, well explained but with the right level of detail, articulated, and with great examples. Thanks for taking the time for making these videos. Definitely supporting your channel. Rock on!!!
Thank you for taking the time to say. Welcome!
Bro, You Rule!!!!! Thank you for all of the explanations & the detail, and great description across the board! So Frickin Informative! CHEERS...
Thank you for saying!
I am watching this during my lunch. I can’t wait to go home and mess around with my EZ3. I’ve learned more in 1/2 an hour than I have since I downloaded it a couple years ago. Thank you so much for the tutorial! 🤘
Great to hear!
Great stuff! Just installed it today, and already mapped out a song!
Awesome, welcome!
Rock on! 🤘
Thank you for taking the time to say, Scott!!
Bro, your video was excellent because you teach very well and your style compliments it. I just subscribed.
Thank you for saying and welcome!
Excellent instruction aid! Videos or Links about using EZdrummer 3 in LUNA?
Thank you for saying. I'm not ready to invest my money and time in LUNA, sorry. Maybe in the future.
Thanks a lot! Really helpful.
Glad it helped!
APPRECIATE THAT
Your comment made my day! Thanks for taking the time.
That was an amazing video. You are the EZDrummer Professor!! And that was just an intro video................Thank you!

Awesome intro! Thanks for making this. I just got EZ Drummer 3, my first Toontrack software. I play guitar and need good drum tracks, and I’m hoping to ramp the learning curve quickly so I can get to making music. Your video was perfect for me to get the info to get started.
